Can anyone help me with setting up this network layout with my Pix Firewall.
Network Layout : Pix > DMZ > ISA Server 2004 > Exchange Server 2003 + Users.

Pix outside IP Address : 65.77.78.47 255.255.255.0
Pix inside IP Address : 172.17.0.1 255.255.0.0
DMZ IP Addresss : 172.18.0.3 255.255.0.0
ISA Server outside IP : 172.18.0.2 255.255.0.0
ISA Server inside IP : 172.18.0.1 255.255.0.0

I've identified the interfaces IP Address and named all plus the following config:

global (outside) 1 interface

nat (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 0 0

nat (dmz) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 0 0

conduit permit icmp any any

route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 65.77.78.1 1

I can now access the internet from my ISA Server in the DMZ zone.
I am intending to put the ISA Server out on the DMZ to access the outside world with

static (dmz,outside) 172.18.0.2 65.77.78.47 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0

and then open all traffic to ISA with

access-list acl_out permit ip any host 65.77.78.47 255.255.255.255 any
access-group acl_out in interface outside

then I’ll give ISA server access to the inside network with

access-list acl_dmz permit tcp 172.18.0.1 255.255.0.0 172.17.0.2 255.255.0.0 eq 25
access-group acl_dmz in interface dmz

With the above commands, the first access-list acl_out was not accepted by pix plus the second access-list acl_dmz so if you could please share some light upon my configurations.

The above config will nat 172.18.0.2 to 65.77.78.48. You can't static NAT an entire IP to the same as a global (your interface). You can only do this if you NAT specific ports.

I can't seem to find server rules for this app, if there are any.

Problem is, my e-mail address is being constantly bombarded by the MyDoom virus, obviously my ISP isn't doing anything about it, so I would like to be able to block these messages from being downloaded from the server, because creating a local rule didn't work, since Avast blocks me trying to automatically delete the files as they are received.

Any help/tips?

Hi guys,

I am looking for a transport rule in Exchange 2007 to limit the internal mail flow to a mentioned amount of e-mails.

Also a way to restrict the max. amount of allowed characters / e-mail

Another rule which restricts the mail forwarding from the server ( outside the business hours )
I found a way to make all this possbile, but with E2010, where I am able to set up rules with attributes and use IRM to prohibit the mail forwarding.

I have an access rule set on my ISA Server 2004 for denied websites. I'm trying to add certain users as exceptions to this rule but the ISA Server does not appear to be linked to the Active Directory server, even although all my servers are on the one domain and talk to each other. All the ISA server has is the three pre-defined user sets, which I can't change.

Does anyone know anyway around this? When I try to create a new user set I can only see the ISA Server itself under domains to choose from.

Any help appreciated.

In trying to setup ISA 2004 server I've come up to a Questions?

the office has a DSL line that is currently going into a Netgear firewall/router and it works fine. When I pull it out and plug it into the NIC on the Proxy server it says "can't get IP" and put a "?" on the NIC card?

After rebooting and turning the DSL router off still will not pickup a IP.

Any Ideas as to why? I plug the ISA server in to the network and it picks up the IP fine??

I no longer work for the company that had the Exchange server and I have my personal pop3 email coming into Outlook.
When I try to use the rules wizard, it tells me that the rules must be on the Exchange server. How do I correct this?
Is there some other way to direct emails from different pop3 accounts into their own inbox folder?

I installed ISA Server 2004 120 Day Trial on a Windows 2000 Machine, this machine was normally used for our domain controller..
anyway, i wanted to get rid of a Linux box thats running our DHCP, DNS and Firewall and just replace it with one unit that does it all (including running a domain).

Now we have a problem, i installed this on our DC and now no one can log in and the remote access program i normally use to access the server (its in a closet all locked up.. etc.) won't run, instead just throws me a "This program will run only in System Service Mode."

i did a google search on that and found absolutely nothing. if you guys could help me out i'd appreteate it..

maybe even point me in the direction of some good networking books to read, because i got alot to learn it seems.

i recently bought UT 2004 for the PC and im running a deticated server...
the question is i have 256kbps cable internet connection and im wondering "How many players can i support" currently im using the defalt setting at 16 players, but is there a recommended setting for my current connection??

When running a server, your upload rate is much more important than your download rate. Do you know if that 256kbps is your download rate, or upload rate? If that's the main number your cable company was advertising, then it's probably your download rate. See if you can find out the upload rate, or tell us your cable internet company, and we'll try to find it for you.

ISA Server 2004 Enterprise Edition uses a Configuration Storage server as a storage mechanism for enterprise and array settings. ISA Server array members must be able to connect to a Configuration Storage server, and in the following scenarios certificates are required to authenticate this connection:
• When ISA Server computers are not installed in a domain (workgroup mode)
• When ISA Server array members are part of a domain that does not have a trust relationship with the domain in which the Configuration Storage server is located.

Certificate configuration is done during ISA Server Setup, but if you want to change configuration settings after installation, ISACertTool.exe helps you do the following:
• Install a server certificate on the Configuration Storage server
• Install a root certificate on each array member to indicate that it trusts the Certification Authority that issued the server certificate.

I am trying to remove OEM branding from IE 11 in Windows 10. For the most part I have managed to get rid of most of it but there is one last thing that is proving tricky. This is a pre filled url in the dropdown IE address bar, which points to the manufacturer's
support site unsurprisingly.

Obviously you can click the cross next to it and it will go, but will return upon any reset of IE.

I thought the answer may lie in the reg key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\
plus the corresponding HKLM keys also.

Having deleted the entire key, which contains every setting for IE, I sill see that upon any reset of IE (from advanced tab of internet options), the url returns.


So the question is really where is IE getting this information from at the point that it is reset. More to the point, where have the manufacturer hidden something somewhere that IE then pulls into it as it's default.

Hello BlitzMX, I have given a good look for something similar to what you are looking for, but I am not sure if there is such a browser extension, probably not enough people have the need for it.

Why are you looking for something like this anyway? The only application I can think of, would be IRC, where you may wish to say something based on a reply that appears (making a bot).

If you are making a website, then you could use JavaScript/PHP (depending how you implement it) to show messages once certain text appears and/or is inputted.

I'm looking for a way to quickly reference a predefined selection of files.

For example, folder "Photos" contains:

1.jpg
etc.
9.jpg

In another folder, "Best of Photos", I want to reference a few of the photos in "Photos". I say 'reference' because I don't want to actually move or copy any files from "Photos" to "Best of Photos".

One way to do it would be to create several shortcuts, one for each selected photo, and place them in "Best of Photos". The downside is that it can become a mess when there are many selected photos.

A different way would be to use a saved Windows Search. I could use the query "1 OR 2 OR 4 OR 8" and than save the Windows Search to the "Best of Photos" folder. In theory it's an elegant solution but as soon as there are more than about 80 OR's this method no longer works.

The way I'm currently doing it is by adding some sort of suffix to the selected photos filename, e.g. 1_SEL.jpg and then searching for SEL to select the right photos. This is probably the best solution I've come up with, but it's not ideal since I prefer to keep the filenames untouched.

Would there be a better solution to this problems than the ones I've come up with?

An odd one maybe.

I have created a template, the template is named as such. when a user goes to save it, they tend to just click save, so in the job folder it says 'template', this is no good - they are fools.

is it possible to define a save name? say 'job programme'? then id want them to enter a bit of id to it, but its better than 'template'.

it is odd i know, long way round for a short cut maybe, but the original template has to be called 'template' otherwise my co-workers will never find it - or assume theyv done it.

maybe choose the name from a cell? dont know if thats possible either (i know they could change it then, but the problem is that they dont)

any advice will be welcomed.

Whenever I capture and save a pre-defined screen area image using ScreenPrint32 I am not entirely happy with the image quality.



Notice the "white spots" or "speckling" that surround most of the text as seen here in this unedited version:
I use Dell Picture Studio's Image Expert to edit my pix and again I mention that the image above is unedited or resized it's 1:1....this condition exists when I first view the image after saving into Image Expert and prior to using UploadIt! So, it would have nothing to do with the UploadIt! Image Hosting process.

If I want to resize the image from, in this case, 792x143 Pixels down to a more practical 492x87 Pixels size for Forum Thread viewing, the image quality and text clarity/sharpness is even more deformed as shown in the following image.
Here I simply resized the image:



How can I optimize the image quality?
Switch to an alternate Image Editor?

Hello.
I know that "Inbound Rules" use for block incoming connections and "Outbound Rules" use for block outgoing connections. My questions is that I want block a program for Update. If I put my program in  "Outbound Rules" then
my program can't see the Internet and thus can't update. If I put my program in "Inbound Rules" then it can see the Internet but can't receive anything? If it it true then "Inbound Rules" not have any different with "Outbound
Rules" for program update.
Any idea?

Hi there!

Question:
Is there a way to have a Document to be printed on a predefined Printer NOT beeing the System Default one?

Let me explain:
We're using an Excel that needs to be filled with Information which then fills the gaps in a special designed Paper we used with our old Printer.

As of recently we aquired a 2nd Printer ( System Default ) which is having problems with the special Paper so we have to use the old one but the one person which handles this work is a little overwhelmed when it comes to switching Printers.

( I know... it's just one click but meh... )

I was only able to find a reference of these counters in the Windows 2003 Resource Kit archives (28 thousand ! pages pdf). Nothing more recent. Is there any reference guide having these by Windows versions?
I managed to pull some of these through Powershell and .Net classes, but it only works if I know at least the categories that are predefined. I would really like to have an official list released by Microsoft or something.

Preface:
My mother is 77 yrs young and has trouble, too often for my liking, with dragging and dropping files to the correct folders. She imports pics from her digital camera, which get sent to a newly created folder (date-time) insode her main picture folder. Then she edits the file-name and sometimes crops and tweaks the images. When she is done, she needs to move them from this temporary date-time folder to any number of specific folders.....Thanksgiving, Christmas, John, Mark and Terry...etc.

Objective:
I'm looking for a more fail-safe way of the move process. My first thought was to create a "move to" link for the right-click. But from there she has to continuously search for the "Specific file." I thought there were programs out there that allowed one to have a group of 'specific folders" to move files to. In other words, Right-click on a file, select move to, have a list of folder that one could move the file to, select the folder, and its all done.

A:Finding an easy way to move a file to a predefined location

If there are not too many target folders, you could include them into the sendto right click menu. That would work with up to e.g. 10 - after that it gets a bit messy.

If that's something you want to try, post back and I give you the details. Here is an example of my right click menu that I have set up that way - but only for 1 folder => A1Temp.

Having a problem with winantirus 2004 and winfirewall 2004 popups. They go full screen with no exit except to go to task manager and close out what it calls winantivrus 2004-Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Hi guys,

Ive been searching around for a way to get files to copy themselves from a certain folder into another one IF they're below a certain size. I was wondering if anyone knows of a program or script that I can schedule to do this for me.

Basically heres the problem: When I download work it goes to the downloads folder where I want it. I use dropbox and sometime I save work into the downloads folder assuming its in the dropbox folder and will sync to the cloud, only when I open my work computer I realise that the file is not present. I want to know if i can set files below a certain size (say 50MB, so I dont get huge downloaded videos and apps syncing) to copy into a temporary location in my dropbox folder as soon as they are saved or changed.

A:Possible to create "file rules" similar to email rules

Moving files based on size and moving files based on changes to them are very different problems, the former being the easiest to solve. You can write a batch file to run every x amount of time (via task scheduler) that will scan the directory and copy files if they are smaller than a certain size. You might create a file called "size.bat" within the same directory

The above file will scan the current directory (for only files, omitting the scanning of any subfolders) and will copy any files it finds to be less than 50MB (which equals 52428800 bytes) to the C:\Dropbox directory. Obviously, you will have to change that directory to wherever your Dropbox directory currently resides. And, you can change the maxsize as well. Just make sure you translate the size into bytes as that's how the "dir" command natively reports back file sizes.

You can then use Task Scheduler to set up this batch file to run at whatever interval you'd like to transfer the files.

The latter issue of copying files based on changes is a much more involved issue that I don't currently have the time to address, but it's doable with the same concepts and coding I've shown you here.

Hi All,

Let me start by saying I have no experience with ISA server whatsoever! I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can help me with the following...

I work in a college where security is obviously a big issue, in terms of filtering websites for example. Our ISP currently provide us with a filtering serice which is quite poor. I thought ISA server would provide us with more control over the student's access to the net.

We currently connect to an 'internet proxy service' that our ISP provides. We would still like our internet traffic to pass through this proxy (as well as our local ISA server). So......

1) Is this possible?
2) If so, how?!

Our ISA server has a single network card in it, which connects to our main switch which connects to our router. Is this setup ok?

I would be very grateful for any help at all.

My rules quit working in Outlook? I copy my pst file between home and work, when I loaded it at home and opened the file I set all my short cuts up but when I try to set a rule it does not work? I am usually sending spam 2 the deleated files folder.... The files work fine at work and I have down loaded the latest and greatest for both winders (no typo im from the south) and Office......

I followed all of the rules of this forum and posted my logs etc exactly as the guide for posting said to do.
I never got even one response and zero help.
I do notice however that everyone with a topic even a few hours old gets 15 or more replies and they didn't follow any of the forum guidelines.
"Please help me remove bla bla bla" -- answered
"Help, I have the google redirect and can't remove it" -- answered within an hour
But mine hasn't been answered now for over 3 days and I think it is BS that I bothered to follow the rules and post the correct way.

First of all, I didn?t see any topic of Outlook Express and as it is connect to the IE, I think better to post it here.

Let me see if any could help me on this issue.

OE 6 has an option where it is possible to block all download images. This option is located as security option. However, I would like to allow just one or more recipients to download the image without need to "click" on the message option to download image. I need to this specific recipient download the image automatically. So, there is no rule on the OE that allows it. I need to add this rule or to install any software on OE to do it.

Does anyone know how to solve it?

What I want to do is buy another HDD-$77 and an OS//full blown-$199 or, from what I understand here, an upgrade-$89


If I do a clean install from the purchase of an upgrade, I understand it's the same as a full blown product?

I want to be able to keep my current {win7 64bit setup on my current HDD-with clones to other same size HDD's} and then, the new HDD, put the win7 Professional 64bit OS version on it and be able to use the XP Mode to play around.

when I want to come back to my current win7 64bit setup I can just flip the HDD's. ((( is this an issue with M$?))

and when I flip, will the computer know I have both paid for OS's and no question about activation?

(the current setup is from gateway; they sent me reinstall discs after me begging for a month)

this may sound convoluted but it's the only way I can explain what I want to do.

Does anyone know of a way to add options to WLM rules? The only option for the From line is"When the From line contains people". Sometimes SPAM has like [email protected]@4You in the From line. I would like an option for "When the From line contains specific words" so I can filter for words rather than people only.

It just depends what you call "people" It does not have to be real people but any characters or words will work.

You can continue to add as many "people" to the same rule if you want.

I have a handful of rules saying that certain words in message text (Viagra, watches, Rolex, etc.) should cause the message to be deleted. They don't seem to do it. I think I've applied them correctly, but perhaps not. An associated question - when I delete messages, they don't all go to the trash. If I delete 10, 9 go to the trash, 1 disappears.

Using Outlook Express 6 on XP Pro SP2.

I had like 100 Rules running on outlook which pushed emails from certain people into some personal folders, i had to remove my personal folders and the rules lost all their mappings, is there anyway in which i can recreate these without going through 1 by 1??

Reformatted harddrive and load back my norton 2003 and realised that it can't update the virus definition(used to work fine which I did a reformat 3 months back).... Other norton components are updated but only the virus definition... wonder if norton has come out with some funny tricks forcing us to buy their latest products inorder to get the updates....(Moderator edit: moved to more appropriate forum. jgweed)

I'm using OutLook Express 6 and getting spam like you would'nt
believe. I think my ISP is selling my E-mail. I go to TOOLS/MESSAGE RULES and put in words that might appear in the subject line and Check "to Delete" and "Apply". The next time I boot or as just now, I click on "TOOLS/message rules" and it is blank again. What is going on? What am I doing wrong? I am using "Block Sender" also and the list is getting smaller instead of larger.

You can Export to or Import from an RWZ file. In Outlook 2007, open the Rules and Alerts window and click Options.

I've had people ask me about what guidelines, or as I call them, "rules" I follow.  So I've decided to share them.
These are the rules I use on our computers, or computer related tasks.  Keep in mind, that I'm just putting what is in my head "on paper", so this list will be change later as I add more.  These rules aren't in any specific order, they were just put in here, as I remembered them.
Now I know that there will be people that won't agree with my "rules", and that's perfectly fine.  However, remember that these "rules", which are the current ones, has evolved over the years, and they've kept our systems virus, malware and hack free since around October/November, 1995.
Remember, a computer to me is only a  tool.  I don't use them for games, etc.
Here we go:
1.  The basis of all these stem from is that the protection of us and our assets are paramount in all cases, as well as protecting my wife and I from any liabilities.  Additionally, it is 100% irrelevant on what others think about the rules, or what they think their rights are (note 1).  I comes down to that these are our computers, phones, etc, and they have no right to access our stuff without our permission.  If they don't like that, tuff.
2.  No one uses any of our computers, no matter the circumstances.  I have my own computers, and my wife has her own computer.

I have a user using 2003 who is leaving the company.
He wants to set up a OUTLOOK rule to reply back to internal and external email accounts.
The Internal ones with one message. The External with another.
I think I found something for the internal and that would be this.

Exchange Server users can try a rule that looks like this:

Apply this rule after the message arrives
with @ in the sender's address
<whatever actions you want>
except with @mycompany.com in the sender's address
But how would a rule look for an exteral email???

Hey everyone,

The problem I am having occurs when I try to sort email using Outlook. I have two accounts that i receive mail with through outlook, I'll call them [email protected] and [email protected]. They are both with the same isp. When I create a rule for [email protected], (when mail arrives to "[email protected]", move it to the "One's Mail" Folder) and do the same for [email protected], something strange happens. When an email is received sent to both [email protected] and [email protected], two copies end up in each folder, resulting in a total of four emails. There is probably something simple here that I am missing, but can anyone help?

Hi all

I've just upgraded to win7, or rather I've done a clean install, as I previously had xp.

I've imported my oe5 messages (10 years worth !) into wlm, but now I'm struggling to find how to import the rules. I have the backup of the oe5 registry keys from xp, ie:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{id}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules\Mail]

Now I just need to know how to get them into wlm....

All day yesterday, I kept getting e-mails from a venomous jerk, and kept trying, in vain, to set up a message rule in OE, to keep him off my inbox. I would set the rule box up, click on "Where From Line Contains People", then "Delete It From Server", yet I kept getting his garbage.

I finally decided to take another look at how I was doing it, and found I probably needed to click on "apply now", or something like that, I believe it said, for the function to take effect. Does this make sense? It seems message rules for XP works differently from that of the old 98 I had. After completing that last step, I stopped getting his e-mails.

I don't have enterprise server for my blackberry and desktop redirector doesn't seem to allow you to open attachments, so I wanted to have Outlook automatically redirect or forward mail to the blackberry web address. The only problem is that whenever I set up a rule to have outlook forward email to any non-interoffice address, it doesn't work. It doesn't give an error or anything, it just never happens. I have a feeling that it could be the AV software (Trend Micro Office Scan). Maybe it thinks it's spamming or something.

Anyone seen this before.

OR does anyone have any suggestions for a relativly inexpensive service that allows you to open attachments on a blackberry when using desktop redirector??

Just guessing, but if you are not getting any error message, I would guess you are entering the forwarding email address incorrectly.
