I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everone, I have a problem with my lenovo yoga 900, which is when I plug the charger after some moment it will (unplug) then instantly plug again, this process keeps going until my battery is getting fully charged from to time to time (maybe 20 unplug > plug while single fully charging cycle). I asked a repairer and suggsted to me to change the battery cord but it didnt solve the problem. also the USB charger port works properly for reding USB flashes with no plug > unplug. I wonder where is the problem, is it in the power supply soI should buy a completely new one (power supply with cord) or it is in battery? because both costs too much to test, Is there somebody tell me how can I fixthis problem? thanks...

Yesterday, I spilled a little bit of coffee on my laptop. It got on a few keys but not a lot at all. It worked fine, then I didn't use it for a few hours. Went to go do some school work and it wouldn't turn on and hasn't turn on since. When the charger is plugged in, the light comes on and it charges but no other lights come on and the computer won't turn on. I tried a hard reset but that didn't work. I really don't want to lose everything on my computer, I need it for my classes. I took it to my colleges tech department and they cleaned it and said there didn't seem to be water damage to the motherboard so i'm not sure if he just missed it or if something else is the problem. I have a Mini-Notebook, NB500-108, running Windows 7, and it never had battery issues until now.
For some reason, battery stopped charging at 99%, then at 98% and now at 97%.
Tray icon says "plugged in, charging" but it never reaches 100%.

Besides that, the led light never changes from orange to green, like it used to do before.
That is annoying because I can't see if battery is totally charged when the machine is turned off.

I've already tried a lot of suggestions in order to recalibrate battery:
1. Flashing BIOS;
2. Uninstall/disable Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method in Device Manager;
3. Full discharge/full charge;
4. Half discharge/full charge;
5. Removed the battery and pressed power button for 10, 20, 30 seconds...;
6. System restore;
7. Same beahaviour with a Linux live pen.

None of this worked. Any comments on this, Toshiba Support?
Thank you in advance.

Toshiba Support? This is a user-to-user forum dude? you will get some comments from community members ;)

I think it could be a faulty battery?since lithium batteries would start losing the own performance after being charged for 400-500 times, I would assume that your battery is affected? it?s just a theory but I think it?s worth to test a new part

Hello everybody!
I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 with an i5 4440, 8 gb of ram, and 1 tb of hard drive. I purchased an evga 500 watt PSU and successfully installed it. My pc worked normally and everything was fine. I then purchased an evga 1060 sc and attempted at installing it into my pc. After installing it I started up my pc and it turned on. The fan for the gpu didn?t spin so I turned off my computer, opened the case, unplugged the 6 pin then plugged it back in. I turned on my pc again but it made an odd sound before the power button flashing orange then completely shutting off. Now every time I turn it on the light turns orange and the fans spin for a split second then they stop. Any assistance will be much appreciated...

This just started happening recently. The power indicator light (near the power plug) does not turn on and Windows does not recognize when the adapter is plugged in; the power icon and cusomized power saving "on battery" behavior reflect that. HOWEVER, the battery does charge. The "lightning bolt" charging light on the front between HDD and system power lights comes on and the battery recharges if not at 100%. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this? Is it more likely a Windows or hardware problem? The BIOS does not have the power adapter test mentioned here, and I could not find the software download for the Smart Adapter functionality (this laptop was installed with clean, non-OEM OS, so any OEM software had to be added manually). Thanks in advance,Kyle

Hello! I have been having this problem for about a week now, ever since I set my old computer back up in my room. The problem started when I left my computer alone for a while when I went out (the computer was working fine and I had just finished transfering pictures to my computer from my camera). I came back and the power light on the front if the case was on, but the battery light was off. The monitor had also gone into sleep mode. I turned off the computer since I knew whatever I was going had already been saved and exited out of, unplugged everything (including the monitor and PC/Monitor cable) and plugged it back in and turned them on. The monitor goes straight to power saving mode (sleep mode). The PC is definitely receiving power, the keyboard's caps and num lock keys flash, the wireless mouse's light flashes, the pc fans turn on, and both of the power and battery lights turn on. But, after a second, the battery light turns off, and the only light I can see through it is the power indicator's light bleeding through. The strange thing is, I've been able to get it to work before, about 2 times actually. Both of those successful boots happened either when I ignored the thing for so long or left it unplugged over night, but had already forgot it didn't work last time. But it did those times. So I tried to leave it unplugged all last night. Just woke up, and... still nothing. I really need to to get those pictures to my mom, so if someone could ple... Read more

BSODs are not my forte, but I do know that you need the exact 0xX...number, to be able to figure anything out. You also might check the Event Viewer for info. I would suggest installing the Windows Debugger (windbg), for it will help pinpoint the problem. Even with all of this, it is not always easy to figure.

The battery light on my Latitude 7370 started to flash in orange and the laptop is not using the battery. It does not start when the AC is not plugged, and shuts down immediately after the AC is unplugged. However, the Dell online diagnostic test for battery passes it as working OK (the test for motherboards also passes). In BIOS, I can see the battery as 100% charged; however it also says "Health: Communication Error". A week ago the battery still had enough charge for up to 5 hours of office work. I have tried to unplug the battery, start the laptop without it, and then plug the battery back. I have also tried unplugging and plugging back the CMOS battery. Neither of these helped at all. I have been using the laptop with WD15. The behavior persists on 2 different WD15 units as well as on the default AC charger.

Hi,
On my NB10t-A-101 the old battery from 2014 got tired and I bought a replacement unit. But with this new battery (and the mains adaptor plugged in) only the left light indicator is flashing red in approx. 5 second intervals, no further action is possible.

When I take the battery out, the machine will boot up happily with only the 19V mains supply. When I then plug in the battery into the live system, the left red light starts flashing ever 5 seconds, the machine will run but not start charging. After shut-down with the new battery in, it will also not boot up again.

My questions: is the battery faulty (brand new, manufactured 2018) or could it be that the system is faulty in the computer itself which activates the battery charging process?

Is there a way to test the battery to see it's ok?

Many thanks in advance for every helpful advice!

Wilf

I used to play games on my desktop with the gamepad connected to front usb. Recently I unplugged it to connect a wireless mosue (another mouse is plugged directly in rear usb).
Now, I removed the front wireless mouse trying to connect my gamepad and what happens is that as soon as i plug the gamepad the rear mouse stops working. Also the computer doesnot recognize the gamepad no matter where I plug the gamepad into any usb port, the pc won't recognize it.

I open the devise manager and see that the front port is highlighted with a yellow flag and says that it is not working properly. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the devise and reboot but doesnot work. Also tried connecting the gamepad while restarting the pc but the computer does not boot.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

A:mouse turns off when i plug gamepad

The yellow ! would indicate the device in question is not working/functional. Try uninstalling the device and then reboot.

As to the gamepad, if it's not recognized in any USB port, the device is likely faulty. You can verify by testing on another computer.

I have Lenovo Yoga 910. It's a couple years old. Suddenly I experienced lagging with the keyboard. Every button must be pushed at least a couple of seconds to appear or response. Some buttons are worst than the others. I called Lenovo and was advised to try to do hard reset by pressing down the power button for 45 seconds followed by pressing the Nuvo button but that didn't work. The problem was still happening. It's not windows upgrade related because this issue was also happening in BIOS when clicking on the arrow buttons and pgup/down buttons. I also tested it in Safe mode and it's still lagging. I even tried restoring the original windows version that came from Lenovo and still didn't work.After researching on the net, some were saying to unplug the battery cable and plug back in to solve the issue. So i did that, I unplug the battery cable but NOW....I have a different problem, worst than before.Pressing the power button doesn't do anything, the laptop doesn't start up. Hi, There seems to be a problem with the power management on my T570. I have two batteries, and I think the main one to be used is the battery 2. Sometimes, I'll be working unplugged, and my computer randomly turns off. Not the usual "Windows turning off" sequence, but an immediate blackout with no feedback. When I turn the computer back on, I see that Battery 2 is at 0% and Battery 1 is now in use. It does seem to be a problem in the power management, no? Thank you,Fred

Hey there,
I've been using my upgraded Inpiron 17R SE happily for a couple of years by now. I've even gone as far as buying an 128GB SSD to futureproof it. This is the only drive - besides the DVD drive - currently present in the laptop. However I've had an issue for quite a while:
Whenever I try to boot the Laptop only using the Battery (even fully charged) it Posts then loads Windows and turns of just before the Login-Screen (I can't see it). When I proceed to turn it back on, it Posts then beeps and says that there is a Real Time Clock Error and gives me the option to proceed booting or to enter Setup.
This however doesn't occur when using the Power-Brick. Moreover it isn't always the case. Sometimes the Laptop boots and works fine just using the battery, but then upon opening a Programm (while under battery-power) it shuts of and gives the same error message again. If it decides to work the battery still lasts for 2-2.5 hours.
I'm really confused to what the problem is. It could be a power delivery problem, but it's still the original battery and laptop with only the HDD changed to a SSD.
I'm aware of it being a rather old machine, but selling it is my only hope for getting a new laptop for college, but I can't sell it in this state.
I'm at a lost and really really sad because of this issue. I'm sorry for any typos or grammar mistakes, I'm a non native english speaker.

I have an older SL510 laptop, which has been working very well. But recently the battery power was continuing to diminish until recently, it stopped holding a charge altogether. At this stage, the orange battery indicator started to blink continuously at a rapid rate. I am still able to power up the laptop with my power cord connected. Purchased a new battery to replace the old and assumed light would go to green after charging. Unfortunately, after several hours connected to the charger, the battery light continues its constant orange blinking. Went through the process of uninstalling the ACPI file as noted in another post. Followed these steps:1. Disconnect AC2. Shut down3. Remove battery4. Connect AC5. Startup6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of Microsoft's ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, and select Uninstall (note that it is all right if you only have one).7. Shutdown8. Disconnect AC9. Insert battery10. Connect AC11. Restart your computerAfter completed this process, battery light continues to blink rapidly and battery doesn't seem to want to charge, or provide any indication that battery is inserted in computer. This happens whether I'm using either of the 2-power adapters I have for this laptop.What can I do to get this fixed??? Thank you in advance for any assistence provided!!!

My Dell D800 laptop stop working.

When I plug the ac-adapter the power light goes off on the adapter. It is obvious short on the motherboard. I did took it apart and look for some problem around DC-jack, but I don't think the problem is there. All the accessories are off . It is only mobo now by it self and does same thing. Anybody knows where I should look for the short. Which chip or diode it could be? I heard it is very common problem with D800 and D600 models. Since I am pretty good with soldering I think, and it is my hobby as well I would like to repair the mobo my self instead replace. Definitely would be much cheaper as well.

Thanks in advance for any input on this matter.

A:Dell D800 AC adapter turns off when plug in

Some laptops have a separate internal DC converter, and some DC converters are part of the motherboard. If you haven't tried another AC adapter, I would do that first. After replacing the AC adapter, check the DC jack for a high resistance using a good multimeter... A normal resistance would be around a half Meg ohm. If the internals are shorted, the resistance would be much lower. Unless you have the skill and tools to do surface mount soldering, I wouldn't attempt a repair

Hi,

I have just bought a new NB10-A-10U laptop.

I have plugged it in but the battery/dc light shows no signs of life.
According to the manual the light should be on.

Is something wrong or everything will operate when i will press the power button?
I would hate the installation process to be interrupted...

Does anyone have a clew if this is normal or something is wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help/advices

Hi

Usually the "DC IN indicator" glows green, white or blue depending on your device when DC power is supplied correctly from the AC adaptor.

Please connect the AC adaptor once again.
Check if there is no lose contact and wait 5-10 min.
The press the power button and check how the unit will act.

Feedback would be appreciated.

a little bit of background first. i no longer have a battery for my laptop. i can only use it when the adapter is plugged into it. yesterday i tried turning it on, but it doesnt. this morning i tried turning it on again and it turned on, for a few seconds then it died. after a few frustrating tries, i noticed that the AC adapter light would blink on and off, like it wasnt supplying power to my laptop. and because my laptop no longer has a battery, it dies. i tried to plug the adapter to another socket because i thought it was a grounded socket issue, but the same thing happens. a friend of mine suggested that it may be the radeon video card that i had got somehow fried or overheated or something, so we tried uninstalling it(yes, there was a time it stayed on long enough for me to log in and uninstall my video card). sometimes it would take 5 seconds for the AC adapter light to blink and die, sometimes it takes 5 minutes or so. after uninstalling my video card, the same thing still happens. when i turn it on, sometimes it only takes a couple of seconds before it dies. sometimes, even if i dont turn it on, the AC adapter light would go on and off, like there was something disrupting the flow of electricity from my socket to my AC adapter to my laptop that causes the light to blink on and off very fast. could it be a power supply issue?

I posted about 2 weeks ago about a fried psu and here I am, again, posting about the same computer and the same type of issue. It's an HP m8120 media center, and the damn thing will not turn on. The power supply issue was fixed by them sending me a new one though it was missing a power cable for the 2nd internal drive (which the computer came with) It worked perfectly for about 2 days and then on the 3rd day i returned to find a blue screen of death It said that if it hadn't happened before then just restart the computer so I did that and now all that's happening is the light is turning on the fans are running and it seems to be in perfect working order except that nothing shows up on the screen. Any ideas? After asking for a new psu and getting one that doesn't fit the model of computer i have from their tech support i'm really not excited about the idea of giving the computer up to them.

Hi @marckalvin21,Thank you for visiting the HP Forums!I have looked into your issue about your HP 14 Notebook and it having startup issues.  Try performing a hard reset.When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.Here is a link to computer won't start for Windows.Plug the power adapter directly into a different wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.Please let me know how this goes.You can say thanks for trying to help by clicking the Thumbs Up below!.Thanks.

Hi,
Wondering if someone could shine a little light my way. My boyfriend has an emachine desktop W4682 and just tonight it has started giving me two problems.
First when turning on the pc the power light turns on and stays on, you can hear the fan humming but nothing else happens... no signal to the monitor. Something that I noticed was that the light for the dvd+-rw drive stayed on too. Thinking that maybe the dvd drive might be the problem, I opened the tower and disconnected the dvd drive. So far so good. The pc turned on and booted completely. After a couple of minutes of using the pc I started getting an error that said "power surge on hub port" and all I could do (after reading a few posts here and there) is turn off the usb alert on the advanced options.
For now I am able to use the pc but I'm worried that I might be causing it some permanent damage by leaving it as is. Best idea yet is to buy a better power supply? Anybody got a better one?

*Not expecting miracles here. I know of the little potential the emachines have*

G'day Myzteryh, these kinds of problems present difficult answers, quite obviously there is a malfunction of some type but what is the best course of action.
It is possible that some kind of malfunction has happened within the DVD combo or some other problem has affected the DVD combo but not knowing becomes difficult. The usb indication also is a consideration.
You could take it to a shop but they probably would not do more than what I am about to suggest.
It would probably be pertinent to obtain "Everest Home" off the net, (google it, Lavalys) this is an analysis program that can be helpful, remove any unneccessary USB stuff, load the Everest program, if you are able to, open it, then open the computer icon in it, then open the sensors section. This will show voltages and temperatures within the machine. If you could somehow copy and paste that page here would be nice, reallly what we are most interested in is the voltage readings, you can expect the table to show suggested readings on the left and actual readings on the right. I do feel you may find some way to achieve this without much problem and we may be able to work out what may be happening.
Do not leave the machine running for any period longer than neccessary at this time. (give it some thought)
If any of the twelve volt readings are above 14 Volts just switch it off and replace the power unit without any further testing.
There may be other ideas on how to address this problem.

Cheers, qldit.

The computer in question is an HP G62 laptop.  THIS is the problem:  When I plug it in, the light where I  plug it in goes on indicating power is on, but the monitor doesn't power up at all. I was told that's the motherboard.  Is it, or how do I find out for sure?  It's the stock OS that came with it...I think Win 7 (32 bit?...not sure) Thank you

The little orange light next to the AC in plug is always flashing rapidly - even after the computer has been shut down, unplugged and put away for storage all weekend.  If computer is shut down overnight but still pugged in, light continues to flash. Never stops.  I cannot start the computer unless the power cord is attached and plugged in.  However during a recent power outage the computer must have gone on to battery power as it did not lose power, but screen brightness decreases (goes into power save) if only on battery.  Battery icon on task bar always says '98% available, plugged in, not charging'.What does the flashing orange light mean, and why won't computer power up on battery only?
