Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics - UPDATE FAILURE??

Q: Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics - UPDATE FAILURE??

Hi...I'm running Win7 Home Premium (64-bit), 8Gb RAM, with the chip:
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

Graphics is not dedicated and is handled via this Intel chip.
During Windows Updates, MS ones download perfectly.

However, I also get an additional 'optional' update named: 'Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics'

This has never succeeded in downloading.
The MS explanation is always the same: possible interruption from my connection to their server...yet never any interruption when I download MS updates at exactly the same time!

After that, I get the usual 'download Mr Fix It' software which proves itself to be utterly useless in helping me find why the download is not succeeding.

I run Avast anti-virus and Zone Alarm firewall...but I can't figure out if they are somehow preventing the download.

I'd appreciate any help on this....

Many thanks

Preferred Solution: Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics - UPDATE FAILURE??

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Go to Intel | Data Center Solutions, IOT, and PC Innovation Click on Support/Download Drivers and finally automatically find drivers. This will require installing a small Intel update utility. Run that and it will list any applicable Intel drivers for your PC.

That is what I do for the Intel CPU/Video drivers for my i7 3770 CPU.

Hello all, I have recently done a completely clean install of Windows 10 on my Y40-70. I am experiencing two graphics related issues: 1. The latest Intel HD Graphics Driver update breaks the display. When either updated by Windows Update, or myself from Lenovo's website (link), the update causes the screen to immediately go blank and stay that way until I go into safe mode, and disable the driver in Windows Device Manager. 2. I am unable to use the AMD graphics card (Radeon R9 M275). Currently Device Manager tells me that the driver for the device is up to date (15.200.1050.0) but Catalyst Control Manager cannot see the card, and nothing I can do will make the machine switch to that card. I have tried multiple times cleanly uninstalling all AMD everything, and reinstalling from both Lenovo's site and AMD's, to no avail. I imagine that these problems are related, but I'm not sure how. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I recently purchased a 6460B for DJ'ing purposes. It has a Intel HD Graphics 3000 Sandy Bridge Graphics system. Apparently there are issues with this graphics system, a bug which Intel has never fixed. I quote from the software manufacturer I am looking at using; "WARNING! Some variants of the Intel HD Graphics Device have a known bug within the associated device drivers that may cause serious instability issues (crashes) while attempting to playback videos utilizing DirectShow video playback technology. If you intend to utilize CompuHost on a computer that incorporates such a device we strongly recommend that you first install the Evaluation version and give it a thorough test drive to ensure reliability prior to purchase!" Apparently this issue is somewhat widespread in the Intel HD Graphics line, regardless of dual monitor use or not as the DirectShow failure is apparent on even single screen use. The screen flickers constantly or just doesn't show any images. Is Intel planning on correcting this error? It can be seen in Compuhost, any version and Swift Elite V4. The laptop has 4gb RAM and a 500gb hard drive. I should also add that although failures are different, the failure of the HD 3000 is consistent when it comes to DirectShow. The Laptop is running the most recent BIOS F63a and I did the F61 to update the video firmware. The problem was present before F61, during F61 and after F61, and F63. Obviously this problem has not been addressed by Intel during ... Read more

Edit: I fixed it! (I was causing the problem myself but uninstalling the chip in the first place when i should have been disabling it instead)

Ok... I looked for about an hour and decided i would have to make a new thread for my specific problem... so sorry if im making my first post in an odd place

I recently installed a NVIDIA GeForce 5500 FX PCI 256MB DDR video card
followed directions as best i could, and disabled the Intel integrated graphics... but my PC insists on REinstalling the intel integrated graphics controller upon restart... It left me alone for awhile and i could run Counter Strike : Condition Zero moderately well (low frames after playing for over an hour) but after allowing my computer to update itself (while using IE to dowload firefox for a reinstall, IE randomly decided my home page was going to be the microsoft site for the day) and since then no matter what i do the computer insists on trying to reinstall the intel integrated graphics thing...

so my question is, how do I make this stop? how do i keep the computer from giving me the dreaded "found new hardware" bubble when im using a FAR superior (REAL) video card already?

is there something i do in the BIOS (i hope not, i dont like messing around in there) or on the motherboard itself?

i have some basic info about my comp in my signature but im going to use "PolSystemInfo" to find all my PC specs and just copy paste them below, I just hope its enough info to help so... Read more

Hmm that didn't happen to me when I put mines in. Did you install the NVIDIA drivers? Try disabling the onboard in the device manager. That?s what I did. There doesn?t seem to be an option to turn it off in the bios (my bios) maybe there is for you however. It isn?t too complicated. Just simply look for onboard graphics or integrated graphics controller or w/e and select disable, but first try disabling it in the device manager. It should be listed under display adapters -> properties -> disable this device.

Intel Core i3-2330M + Intel HD Graphics 3000 = Black Screen

first of all, my words of deep and sincere appreciation and thanks for this website. I use it, though only sporadically, for many, many years and always got very professional and useful help here!

Today I am inquiring about a problem that seems to be quite common and wide-spread, based on my own Internet searches: the bad combination of the Intel Core i3-2330M processor and the Intel HD Graphics 3000. During normal operations, my system works with that. But when using render software (POV-Ray) or attempting to play games, then I am getting that famous Black Screen. The laptop still continues to work, but I cannot see anything anymore. Only a restart helps, unfortunately. My online search did not reveal any solution, and having downloaded the "Intel Driver Update Utility", nothing new can be downloaded it seems.

I am speaking out here today about my problem with the hope, that someone here know a functioning solution. I need my system in order to create renders, that is my work. I just recently upgraded my system with that better processor, and it kills me now.

Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

The name is only Intel HD Graphics Family there isnt a number after it in dxdiag

A:Is Intel HD Graphics Family better than Intel G41 express chipset?

Intel G41 express is the very old, Core 2 equivalent on-motherboard-gpu aka Eaglelake. It only supports up to dx10, it has awful and old drivers, and incomplete opengl support (less apps can run on it). It can idle in recent games like Dota 2 with up to 30fps with everything on low. Key word: idle. Don't even think about playing under more than 15-20fps.

Intel HD Graphics Family is on-cpu-die-gpu aka Sandy Bridge, it's still old now, but does have support for dx11 and opengl, and it has a lot more raw power than x4500(g41), depending on the cpu. It even supports overclocking with sizeable improvements.

Really there is no contest between the two families.

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's. It appears you have the latest production release of the Intel Graphics Driver for Windows 10. The only other driver listed on Intel's support website is which is a BETA version. This BETA driver doesn't appear to address the issue you are having. HP hasn't made it difficult to update the driver. The Intel driver installer is what is telling you it can't install the driver. This is because there is a customized version of the driver on the computer and replacing it with a generic driver may cause issues or loss of functionality of the hardware. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the White KUDOS "Thumbs Up" to show your appreciation

Hi all, Bought a new Aspire F5-571 two months ago with Windows 10 preinstalled. Recently, I've started getting the error message in the subject line of this post. Doing some research reveals that it could be a problem with the display drivers. I've checked Acer's website for my model and the only graphics drivers available are Intel's VGA drivers. Intel's web site reveals that the drivers for Intel HD Graphics 5500 are OEM drivers and are shipped by the manufacturer - obviously in this case Acer. Anyone any idea if there are updated drivers anywhere on Acer's website ? Regards, gneil15

I have a HP 6730b that I keep getting the message (after the screen goes black for a few seconds) that "Display Driver Intel Graphics Acceleraor Device for Windows Vista stopped responding and has successfully recovered".  I bought the same computer for my niece, and she has the same problem. When I checked the HP site for this model computer, I can find no drifver mentioned with this name. Also, the fact that it says Windows Vista is odd as both computers run on Windows 7 professional.  Do I dare download the HP Intel HD Graphics with Turbo Boost Technology (International) driver that appears on the HP list for this computer and install it or will that just make matters worse? Both computers are rebuilt by Metro Business Systems. I have called them for advice, but have not yet heard back. Any ideas you have would be appreciated.

Here is the HP driver page for Windows 7 - 64 bit for your machine.  You should be fine downloading the Intel HD Graphics with Turbo Boost Technology (International) driver.  Normally if they are not the correct drivers they will not install.  If there is one thing I really like about HP is that they make it easy to get drivers for their equipment.

Hi all, Just recently got my hands on a shiny new W541 and it's hooked up to my Apple Thunderbolt Display using the Thunderbolt port. While this works, the fans are really loud when i.e. opening programs, new tabs in browser etc. I figured that it's because it uses the built-in Intel graphics GPU. Is there any way to "tell" it to use the Nvidia GPU for the thunderbolt port instead of the built-in one? :-) Thanks in advance. All the best, Bo

A:W541 thunderbolt display using intel graphics

Take it up with Lenovo, or buy a dock (apparently that's the solution Lenovo had in mind)!!!
In theory, if the BIOS of the W540 behaved like the BIOS of the W530, then it should allow you to choose whether you want to use built-in Intel HD Graphics exclusively (W530 "integrated") or nVidia Graphics (W530 "discrete graphics"), or some dynamic performance-dependent combination (i.e. W530 "Optimus Mode").  This should be true (and IS true for the W530) no matter whether you're talking about the laptop screen, external monitors connected directly to ports on the W530 laptop, or whether you use external monitors connected through a dock.
The only "wrinkle" for the W530 is that if you have Optimus specified on the W530 then all external monitors are always 100% managed by the nVidia graphics (no matter whether connected directly to the laptop or connected through a dock). So with the W530 in Optimus mode it is actually only the laptop screen which can be controlled by either Intel or nVidia graphics.  For most uses it will be the Intel graphics that controls the laptop screen, unless program graphics performance requirements (as determined by the firmware) find that nVidia is required.  Additionally, you can use nVidia Control panel to theoretically "force" nVidia graphics for specific program windows, but in my experience that doesn't seem to work consistently.
But this very precise choice in the BIOS where the machine actually behaved exactly a... Read more

The strange part, is that Intel Driver Update Utility tells me that installing their software update for this GPU won't work becuase I have a custom driver from Lenovo. Is that correct? Any ideas? I've had this All-in-One for about a month. Every day, several times a day, the Intel HD Graphics Driver fails. The message says it recovered, but I have to close and re-open any program I was using because it doesn't come back right. As I write this, I fear it is going to happen again! I've checked for newer drivers and have found none. I've uninstalled and re-installed the driver as per instructions. This is annoying the heck out of me for a brand new system to be doing this and disrupting and even losing my work because I have to close a program to get the whole window to display. It doesn't work to just minimize a window either. All there is when it comes back are blocks of white and black where toolbars and work areas should be. I bought this at a local electronics retailer. Should I take it back or is there something that I haven't yet thought to do that will fix it? Sharonin Illinois

A:Intel HD Graphics 530 Display Driver Stops and Rec...

Hi Sharon, I feel for you but you can try this, I believe this will fix your problem. Based on my experience, this issue is usually happening on the driver version : Since you have already unisntalled and re-installed display driver and it didn't fix it, I do recommend for you to try using this version : What I've encountered is if you were to install a driver from Intel website, you'll be getting the message "The driver you install is not validated on this computer", therefore you won't be able to install this driver, unless you uninstall everything and start once you only have Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. You can try the below step instead. It will be a lot faster. Please follow these steps.? Download the driver here. Download the zipfile then decompress/extract it.? Open the extracted folder, then go to Graphics folder. It may say something like this (C:\Users\SuperUser\Downloads\win64_154012.zip\Graphics), then copy the path.? Go to device manager, right click on Intel HD Graphics 530, then select Update Driver.? Select let me pick, then go to Browse my computer for driver software.? Once you're there select have disk, then paste the path, then hit next.? It will install the Intel HD Graphics 530, without the use of the wizard.? Restart the computer.? Check back on device manager, you should have the updated driver that ends with 4352.   Let me know if issue persists.

Ok, this is driving me a little crazy. I've posted on the Intel forums, thought I'd make a thread here as well.

This concerns an Acer Aspire V Nitro laptop, which comes with an Intel HD Graphics 4600 card.

My issue is with the stupid adaptive brightness feature, which supposedly automatically adjusts the brightness of my display according to the "ambient" light levels.

I. Hate. It.

I turned off the setting from the Windows control panel, for both Power Saver and High Performance plans, and for both Battery and Plugged In situations.
Issue persists.

The Display Power Saving Technology setting in the Intel Control Panel fixes it, but it keeps getting turned back on everytime I plug or unplug my laptop.

Any solutions?
I'm running fully updated Windows 8.1 x64.

Many Thanks.

There's no usual number for this update, just a text title. From Googling I could find nothing.

A:Update for Intel display - why now?

I have found this informtion on the update. I agree, dont use the WU to install drivers etc. Go to the website and do it your self. Some updates are received in error others are late.

WU for "Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset" driver causes black screen for quite a few people.

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- The most common drivers are listed on this page: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper

Hi there.Have an issue with my display adapter.Every time I boot my "Ideapad Z580" on, I cannot connect to any external displays without first having to update my display adapter in the device manager.  For some reason it seems to roll back to an earlier driver while either its shutting down or booting up.  I've deleted old driver files and it still has the same problem.  Whenever I try to connect to my tv, by either WIN+P combination or the Intel control panel, it cannot find my TV or any other Monitor I plug in.It's been like this for a year or so, never actually thought about writing on the forums about it.I use a larger TV for display output (bad eye sight) and it's just turned into more of a nuisance than anything.Any help would be great, if there's anyway I can provide more information just let me know!

"Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
I keep receiving this error message. My screen turns black, that message pops up, then everything is fine again... except my adobe programs. When I have them open, and this happens it freezes them and I have to force the program to close and re-open.
This cannot be good for my computer.... any thoughts? I would truly appreciate any help or ideas on resolving this display driver issue.
Thanks so much!

A:Display driver Intel Graphics Drivers stopped responding

Hello, and Welcome
What is the make and model of the computer? When you look in the system tray of the desktop do you see a small icon that will let you adjust Graphics Properties.  It would look something like this.

Hi. I have a problem with my integrated graphics card not fitting the resolution to the screen. The resolution is always too big. It would be nice if i could get this to work, because i edit videos, and i only have 1 Square monitor that isn't even really that big. I have tried going into Windows 7 Screen Resolution to tinker with settings, but no success. So then i went into the Integrated Graphics card settings, and nothing worked there either. I am stuck at a lose. I have a picture, showing where the picture gets cut off on the 19". Windows Media Player is set to where i can see it. Any bigger and it would get cut off.

A:Intel HD Integrated Graphics wont display proper Resolution

So i have solved this issue by myself. Not saying how, but i did.

Hi dcortes8489.... welcome to the forum
you could try & reinstall the driver in ''safe mode'' the original install may be corrupted somehow....

how hot is your laptop..?? heat could be causing the GFX unit to fail & recover....

Hi everyone. I have an Ideapad Y460 running Win7 x64 SP1, with switchable graphics - Intel HD / Mobility Radeon 5650. When I tried to update my Intel hd graphics driver through Device Manager (Display adapters, right-clicked Intel HD Graphics, Driver tab, "update driver", "search automatically for updated driver software"), Device Manager for some reason changed "Intel HD graphics" to "Standard VGA graphics adapter" and resolution became 800x600. I rebooted, but after that, I couldn't roll back the driver (button was greyed out in Device Manager). I first tried the HD graphics driver from Intel's website for my processor (i5 430 M) but that had a driver signing issue. After disabling the driver signing enforcement, it led to the no-display issue, details in the next paragraph. I subsequently tried to install the Intel HD Graphics driver from the Lenovo support site (IN2VDO26WW6.exe), but after rebooting, there is no display after the "Starting Windows" screen. The sound at the login screen plays, and I can enter my password and have it log in (based on sound cues), and apparently everything loads fine (can shutdown using Run command), just that there is no display. I have tried setting my laptop's date to near the driver's date, to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. (Yes I did a very stupid thing that caused this whole mess. :C  T_T  )

Hello - Just bought my system brand new from HP in November 2016. Running also brand new dual 4K displays (LG 27UD68-W) via Display Ports in 60Hz, using Intel HD 530 graphics with the latest drivers from HP. After the system recovers from sleep mode (and sometimes after hibernation), one of the 2 screens displays "chopped" graphic areas.  The Intel graphics properties interface (right click on desktop > graphics properties) shows that the both monitors' display frequency has been changed to 59 Hz instead of 60 Hz (which is the recommended frequency of the dual identical monitors).  Once I change the setting from 59 back to 60 Hz, normal (and not "choppy") display is restored. I have tried to research the issue on the internet.  While it iseems to be a somewhat known issue, there doesn't seem to be a working solution available. Even though the problem does not happen all the time, it occurs frequently enough to be annoying, especially since it is compounded by another display issue about which  I have posted another message on the HP Discussion Boards (re: open windows shrink and move to top left corner after sleep in Win 7).Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Dimitri

The graphic drivers for Acer E5-571 is very outdated. Its from last year. There needs to be an update to match Intel's.

A:I need update for Intel graphics card

Let Windows 10 install the driver, however, if you don't have any problem with the current driver, no need to worry about the newer driver.

The newest graphics drivers for the Thinkpad P50 contain Intel driver version (the latest available from the Support site). This version of the driver (as well as older versions) has a bug which causes Google Chrome to jitter when in full screen and moving the mouse around the page. (See http://crbug.com/672448 .) Intel has released a version of the drivers ( which is reported to fix this problem. I tried to install the updated driver from Intel, but the installer tells me that I can't because I need a driver version customized by Lenovo instead. Is there some way around that to install the new Intel driver? Will it hurt in any way to do that? Is there some way to get Lenovo to release a new set of drivers with the updates from Intel? Thanks!

One of my programs has been crashing recently and, after contacting the support team of the program, it seems like the issue is caused by my Intel graphics driver being out of date. Since HP does not update the driver automatically, support suggested downloading the most recent driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25978/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36- . However, the installer wizard throws the notification that this driver is not installed for my machine. Is it safe to install the driver anyway, through the steps listed at the page mentioned above? If not, is there another procedure to update my driver to the latest version?

A:Update Intel Graphics driver

Does your notebook not have the NVIDIA GeForce 840M video solution installed?  Have you tried using that as the default graphics solution for the program that is crashing? I suggest downloading and installing the Intel driver from the following web page at Intel. Use the second driver from the top.http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/graphics-for-4th-generation-intel-pr...
