I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Restart your computer.
NOTE : The clean-boot procedure eliminates the possibility that an antivirus program or another utility is causing the error message. It should also disable any third-party printing software such as Hewlett-Packard Port Monitor or Epson Spooler.

Hello there,

I have recently set up on my PC a different account area for my friend so that he can check his e-mails from time to time.

His e-mails are accessed via the program Outlook Express.

Now bear in mind he can access his e-mails via Outlook Express perfectly well on my account area

But for some reason on the new area Outlook Express throws a wobbly

(and I'm not sure if it's just Outlook Express or the Internet as a whole that is the problem)

After logging on to the new area and then clicking on Outlook Express the program opens up. - this is where the problem is.

If there are no new e-mails coming through its okay However !!

If there are new e-mails waiting the first e-mail will come & straight away the program will bring up a new box which says: Internet Explorer Script Error

(I have sent a screenshot of this as an attachment - see attachment)

And everything freezes, - this new box & Outlook Express the only way to get out of it is to do Ctrl/Alt/Delete

As I said earlier Im not sure whether this is an Outlook Express problem or an Internet Explorer problem, - because I don't seem to be able to get certain Internet sites either

For example the Hotmail sign in page www.hotmail.com

And also when I open up Internet Explorer it always starts with a settings page even though I have set my homepage to Google.

The title of your thread says "Outlook Express", but it looks like you're running Microsoft Outlook. Those are two different products.

Is this a new error that just started to pop up after Outlook has been running fine for a while? Did you try a repair of Office?

This will occur intermittently, but consistently. If a user is switching between emails or trying to download an attachment, Internet Explorer will stop responding and prompt you to "recover webpage." If you let it go for a few minutes, it may
respond finally, or may not and need to be recovered.
I have tried deleting browsing history and clearing the cache, running IE11 without addons, and fiddling with numerous settings. This only occurs on machines with a certain Group Policy, and the only difference in Internet Options Advanced settings is "Use
software rendering instead of GPU rendering" is checked on the affected machines, but not on my machine, where it works fine (though somewhat slow). Our Group Policy resets the Internet Options settings upon restarting, so I am not currently able to test
if this is the culprit without consulting the network admin first.
I have included the Windows Event Viewer logs for these errors if it helps.

Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this? When I want to print from Internet Explorer (version 7) I click on the icon or type Ctrl-P. In either case the print dialog is often very slow to appear - about 20 - 30 secs. This does not happen with other programs. If I use Google Chrome the print dialog appears very promptly. Is there a setting or other change I can make to have IE be more responsive?

Thanks,

I have a desktop and a laptop both with Win 7 Home Prem. A HP LaserJet M1005 MFP is connected to the desktop. Everything works except printing from IE to the remote printer.
IE hangs while it tries to spool to the printer spool. I cannot cancel the printer spool, all I can do is end the IE task via the task manager.
If I run IE as Administrator or turn off UAC it prints successfully.

I remember having a similar problem with Vista, deleting the remote printer and adding it back again solved the problem - not this time!

I have the latest HP driver downloaded from the HP site.

I've tried changing the security settings of the SERVERS folder in windows/system32/spool giving the user full control, without success.

It seems IE is trying to do an Administrator task somewhere without asking permission.

Any ideas!
Thanks

Sometimes a printer will need to be installed as local to give it the correct permissions. If it is successful when run as admin a workaround would of course be to do that. I dont think giving users full control is the answer for the print spooler is probably owned by a system process. That is one thing you can check.

We are having a problem printing heat maps from IE 11 on a single page but only from a few machines. The heat maps are sized on the web page to print on a single page and they do from both Firefox and Chrome. However, in IE 11 it's like it has zoomed in
to about 300% of normal and ends up being split across three pages with everything on the page magnified. This only happens with our heat maps. We have other maps on the same web site that print just fine on a single page from IE 11.
By testing we have determined that the problem is either machine or browser specific on certain machines only. All of the machines that have the problem are Windows 7 OS with IE 11 version 11.0.9600.18499, Update Versions: 11.0.36 (KB3191492). The browsers
are set to install new versions automatically. The kicker is that other machines that don't have the problem are also running Windows 7 and the exact same version of IE 11. So, it almost has to be a specific setting in the browser or maybe something different
in the registry of the individual machines. Since it's only a few machines here at our office we wouldn't worry except that the web site, when all the wrinkles are ironed out will be available to the general public. It is currently being used by a couple of
hundred beta testers who might want to print these heat maps for their clients. We figure if it's happening on a few machines here in the office, it's bound to happen to other users, too.
Is this a known problem or have we foun... Read more

Hi Guys,

I need some help solving a problem.

I'm getting the attached error when trying to print from Outlook.

I'll give you an overview of the system and what Ive tried.

- Windows XP
- Outlook 2000 SR-1 (9.0.0.4527)
- IE 6

Stuff Ive Tried:

- Problem seems to only happen with external emails (external to our LAN).

- Repaired Office. Problem still exists.

- Re-created my profile and the problem still exists.

- I renamed the shdoclc.dll file, when I tried to print from outlook it automatically generated a new one, but the problem still exists.

- I uninstalled and re-installed IE, but the problem still exists.

- Installed Windows Scripting : windows_script\5.6

- In Internet Explorer.
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced. Put a check in "Disable script debugging" and remove the check from "Display a notification about every script error".

Technet Article 303486

IE Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Browsing>Enable third-party browser extensions (uncheck and reboot).

- Ive tried the various combinations of printing. ie. file/print, right click/print, print button etc - All produce same error.

- I also installed an IE Patch (MS03_32_IE6.exe), rebooted > same problem.

- Ran Spybot (latest version). Still same problem.

- I removed my exchange account from outlook, added it back in, same problem still persists.

So any help would be appreciated!

Hi: I could not open a file (Adobe Acrobat File) in Internet Explorer. Received a message saying that it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged. I spent several hours trying to get this file I needed for my work. Finally the next day I thought I would try Firefox and it worked fine in there. It stated that it was a Adobe Acrobat Document and Firefox should open it with - Adobe Reader by Default.
How can I get this to work in Internet Explorer? I usually use Internet Explorer. Could it be that I need to set Internet Explorer? Or do I need to delete/remove Internet Explorer and down load and install it again?

Prior to the IE upgrade from 8 to 11 we could collate documents, now we can't on certain HP laser jet printers. The option to collate is still there and can still be selected, it's just ignored.  Only observed this collating problem on HP LJ 1606
and M201dw printers. No problems collating on older or new HP printers. I've tried contacting HP tech support but they say it's an IE problem.  I think it may have something to do with an Add-on called MeadCo Script X but trying the latest version
of that add-on downloaded from their website didn't resolve the problem.

Hi.. I don't know if this is the right section, please correct me if it's wrong. Here is the problem:

My Internet Explorer 7 gives the error: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I cannot complete the troubleshooting. It states that there might be a problem with my firewall settings. But my Firefox works perfectly on this computer. I have completed all the steps given in this link. However, it didn't work. I cannot run MSN right now because of this. And this is not a problem that developed recently, on this computer I have never managed to run Internet Explorer.

And another point to mention: Whenever I try to visit a site via IE7, before giving "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error, on the status-bar I see a warning for a second such that a "dns error" or something.

I have also searched this forum for this, I have found some posts consisting HJT logs but could not reached a solution for my problem. Could you please help? Thank you.

Hello everyone and thank you for participating in this wonderful site.

My computer is a Pentium 4, 2.80 GHz, Running Windows XP Proffessional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.
The problem I'm writing about has been there for about a year. All in all it's the same prolem ever since, but every once in a while some detail changes, like a new error message.
Every about 5-15 minutes the Start Menu Taskbar and the desktop icons disappear (Explorer crushes). Most of the times they reappear shortly after, but sometimes they don't, and then I use task manager to run explorer and then they reappear. Yet, sometimes the computer stucks altogether, and I have to restart. In addition to that, many popups open when I surfe the web using Internet Explorer. The popup changes every few days, but in between it's always the same one.
Another point is that while the crushing of explorer can occur anytime, it most often occurs while I open or close Internet Explorer windows.

Sometimes I get an error message, and as I said, they change from time to time. But still, here are 2:

rundll32.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x74725956" referenced memory at "0x00a10004". The memory could not be "read".

Click on ok to terminate program.
Click on cancel to debug the program.
Another error message:

Dear Tech guys,
I badly need your support. Day before yesterday (01-Aug-06) night I upgraded the yahoo toolbar and used their norton anti spy to scan. Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.

Below is the dialog that comes whenever we double click or open (for eg: on C:\ or any folder in the left side pane of the windows explorer. If I just keep expanding the + of the tree no problem, only on clicking the item to open the following error occurs.)

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

program: C:\Windows\Explorer.exe

This Application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I am running on Windows XP SP 2. I dont have google toolbar. I have yahoo tool bar installed. I have tried uninstalling it and installing it again and other combinations as well.

I have also tried sfc /scannow as well. It did not work.

It doesnt look like any adware or spyware (yahoo's norton spyware had done a complete run and no problems in the system as reported by them).

What should I do now to get back to normal operation of windows explorer.

Thanks and Regards,
Naga Kumar S

A:Windows Explorer Runtime Error (not related to Internet Explorer)

I would un-install the Yahoo Toolbar and then put Google Toolbar in, Then I would try to download .NET framework 2.0

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6b-356b-4a2c-857c-e62f50ae9a55&displaylang=en

and install it. If it tells you that you already have it re-install it anyway.
