I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I get email from a friend who recently changed his email service from msn.com to Comcast.net. I updated my address book in OE accordingly. When I receive email from him and try to reply, the To: address shows his old name and email address, msn.com. When I forward his email, the From: address in the message shows his correct email address, Comcast.net. What's the problem, is it my system or his, and how can it be corrected??

A:Sender's return email address is different

Your friend needs to change their account properties in whatever email program they use to show reply e-mail address being their new address.

The emails I receive in OE6 show only the Sender's name in the FROM field. The Sender's email address is not shown anywhere. I don't have many Contacts (like 3 or 4) and so I thought OE6 was using the nicknames I'd given them in my Address Book, because they are my Contacts. But I've received mail from various people not on my Contacts list, and the FROM field just says their User name for their email account.

If "[email protected]" sent me an email, I would see:

The email address is not displayed anywhere.

It's funny, because my own email address shows up completely in the TO field.

What do I have to do to view the Sender's address? Right now the only way I can email people is to Reply to an email they've sent, even if it's a completely different topic and it's three months later!
(And only their User name is in the TO field, so I don't know where I'm replying to.)

I have configured the default mail app in Windows 8 to access a gmail account (via IMAP). My Gmail account pulls in personal and business email from two other email addresses (one with BT Internet, the other with a smaller hosting company). When I compose a new email or reply to an email using the Windows mail app I want to be able to change the "sender" address, depending on whether the email is personal or business. I have set up 2 different email aliases in my Live account, and set my personal email address ([email protected]) as the primary alias, but whenever I send emails from Windows 8 mail the reply address is simply set to "[email protected]" (with no email domain), and I can't find any option to change it.

How can I control the sender address in the Mail app?

For what it is worth, I backup My Thunderbird and Firefox with MozBackup http://download.cnet.com/MozBackup/3000-2242_4-10260383.htmlAs great as it is to have tools such as Firefox and Thunderbird, backing them up can be a tedious process. MozBackup is a tiny program that makes saving and restoring all your bookmarks, extensions, and other personal settings a streamlined and stress-free experience. The program works with Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, and Netscape on Windows platforms. It doesn't work with Firefox Portable, Sunbird, Songbird, or Flock, but for standard Windows iterations of the programs in the Mozilla suite, it's almost silly to not use this program.Close the program you want to back up, then runI used MozBackup recently to move all my Thunderbird email and settings and Firefox favorites etc. from one computer to another. No problems. It seems to me that your plan is sound, Import into Thunderbird, Backup, install Thunderbird on new computer and restore everything.Did I mention you can you can check or uncheck what you want and not backup what you don't want to backup.Hope this helpsRoger

I am writing this because I am seeking help with an Email related issue.

I am trying to use a program that retrieves Inbound Email attachments and resends them to a new destination… it is a dispatch program.

The Help Files associated with this program make reference to “The Attachment Folder” from “My Email Program”.

I am currently using Microsoft Outlook 2000 as my Email program although… I also have Outlook Express as an optional email program that I could use.

I would prefer to stay with Outlook 2000 though…
“if possible”.

I am enclosing an excerpt from the “Help” File associated with this program so you can see their exact reference to an “Attachment Folder from my Email Program”.

I have tried contacting The Program Manufacturers Tech. Support but as yet have not heard back from them.

I am looking for any advice or direction to be able to Locate and Identify this “Attachments Folder” in “my Email Program” that they make reference to.

If you can assist or advise me in any way I would appreciate it very much, as I am completely lost as to what to do next.

My Operating System is Windows 98SE.

Thank You

Someone has sent me a very large attachment. After about an hour it has got ½ way through downloading and then it cuts off and stops downloading. The internet connection is not cut off. This is very frustrating as it is blocking up other emails behind it. I'm not too worried about not getting the large attachment (it's about 13MB) but I need to get the other emails that are backed up behind it. How can I get rid of it?

A:Email with large attachment won't download

Are you using dial up? Ummm, I don't recommend sending such a large file via email with dsl and even less with dial up. If you have a messenger, your friend can send you a file like that thru a file transfer in a messenger. For right now, does your email come thru Outlook or OE? If it does, close that and try to log on to your mail from a browser, most ISPs have a way to check your mail away from home, like I can look at my sbcglobal mail thru a browser. If you can get in to your mail from a browser delete that large email thru there. As thru the browser mail, it shouldn't try to download the attachment unless you ask it to, there by leaving you the option to delete it. This may or may not work, but it works for me, so I'm just making a suggestion

I'm at my wits end to find anything to point me in any sort of direction. We use Office 2000 on a machine with Windows XP. We've run Norton Antivirus, Ad-Aware, etc..all with updated definitions and they found nothing. We've uninstalled and reinstalled Office. I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:.xls email attachment opening Windows System folder

What happens if you save the file to the Desktop and then double click it? Does it do the same thing? Usually the association would be repaired using Uninstall, but not always. Try double clicking on My Computer, then go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the File Types tab. Find XLS in the list and click on it. Does it say Restore? If so, try that. If not reply back and we can try some more steps.

I am running Vista Ultimate SP1, Outlook 2007 (12.06423.1000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000) with an http Exchange mail account as well as an Outlook Connector for Hotmail plus POP mailboxes.

Recently (since installation of Office SP2) adding a new contact or sending an message with a new email address the email address is not underlined and when attempting to save the contact or send message the following error is displayed:

"The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

This message also appears even if I try and send meesage by one of the POP accounts.

This is very frustrating as I cannot create new contacts or send new messages. I'd pull my hair out... but I've got none left!

I would appreciate if anyone knows how to fix this issue.

A:Outlook 2007 (Exchange client) will not save contact email address

Appreciate that you have correlated the problem to Office 2007 SP2. I am having the same problem with an XP Pro PC using Outlook 2007 connected to Exchange 2003 over Http/RPC. There are two accounts: Exchange and one POP. If I take the Exchange connection "off line" it is possible to add the new email address to the contact. THEN, I can send the email via either Exchange or POP. Also, I cannot send an email to an address that is not already in "contacts", or apparently never sent an email to a particular address. So, same work around. Take Exchange offline and then send email via POP account. With Exchange back online, it is now possible to send to the new email address.

Couple questions.

1) Are you using Full Outlook or Outlook express?
2) Do the times in the deleted folder have any weird tagging on them (in the subject line)?
3) Is this connecting to an exchange server (like at work) or are you just using this for personal emails. (ie what email address are you getting email on )
4) do you remember any thing that you did recently in changing settings/ installing any new software, etc. . .

Yesterday morning I got up and checked my email, and saw that I had sent out an email with just a link to a rapidshare download inside to everyone on my contacts list. My sister opened it up at her work, and said that a bunch of porn popups kept coming up and eventually crashed the PC.
I instantly removed my gmail account from Windows Mail, and ran a virus scan which picked up a couple of trojans, and ran Malwarebytes, and removed a couple infections there.
This morning I got on, checked my email, and low and behold, another one of these links had been sent out. I warned everyone once again, and this time deleted my entire Google account. I'm sure that whatever caused this is still on my system. I deleted the email address only to avoid anymore of my family and friends from becoming infected.
I also ran a cleaner called "FixSirc" cause someone told me it could be the Sircam worm or what not. I ran in both normal, and safe mode, and it found no traces on it. I really don't want to have to reformat the system if I don't have to, so if anyone has any ideas on what this could be that would be awesome.

I've just found a pst file with all my old email. I'd like to put them back on the server (hotmail) but before doing that I've seen that some of them were not recived (or sent) to my actual address (@hotmail.com) but to an old one (@infinito.it). So I was thinking to export them from outlook 2013 to CSV, modify that address into the new one and then import them back on outlook 2013. The problem is that when I export them to CSV, in that file they don't have the date (received or sent) and so when I get them back on outlook 2013 they miss that info.
Can anyone help me doing this? I've been told that VBA macro should be useful for this, but having a look in it I have no idea of what I sould do.
Ah, instead of outlook 2013 I can also use thunderbird (45.3.0) if it's easier with it, but then I'd have to convert that pst file.

Delete Firefox auto-complete entries

There is also an add on for firefox that allows you to manage autocomplete

Available features include:

* matching against bookmark addresses
* matching against page titles and bookmark names
* matching anywhere in the address, not just the beginning
* changing the sorting criterion to alphabetical by address or title, most frequently visited, most recently visited, or top-level pages first
* completing the best match inline
* temporarily or permanently disabling the suggestion popup
* excluding local pages and pages containing search results
* swapping the address and title columns on the suggestion popup
* highlighting the column where a match was found
* fine-tuning the popup appearance by hiding page titles, changing the number of visible suggestions, and setting the truncation method for long addresses and page titlesClick to expand...

My Great-Uncle has Windows 98se. He uses the newest Netscape and recently clean out his inbox using the Netscape email program. For one reason or another he had un-installed the email client and now he doesn't have any access to his emails or address book. I know nothing about Netscape because I haven't used it in like, years.

Is there anyway to obtain the emails or the address book from the Netscape email application after it is un-installed?

A:Netscape Email program uninstalled... need old email and address book.
