I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have an Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and can't find a 12V DC car adapter anywhere. I have just bought an Lenovo 65W DC Travel adapter, but it dosn't have the right connecton til the notebook (USB). Is there a slim tip to USB converter or any other solution to connect my notebook to 12 Volt DC?

A:Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro and need a Travel / Car adapter

Welcome to the forum.

From what I can see this system uses a proprietary USB-like connector with a small notch on one corner. I'm not aware of a car charger for this format, either from Lenovo or from third parties. This blog explains some of the issues: UPDATE: Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro External Battery and Car adapter. See Update April 19, 2015.

Another option would be a 12VDC-to-110/240VAC car inverter, then use the standard AC charger that came with the Yoga 3 Pro. That is, of course, less efficient.

Hello everyone, I purchased Lenovo Yoga 900 Ideapad and I am currently using it in India. The power adapter seems to have gone bad and I wasn't able to charge the laptop with the given adapter.  Since the laptop is under warranty, I contacted the warranty help line only to know that I need to take the laptop to the service center. At a service center, no one really knew how the USB 3.0 charging port works and couldn't check whether the cable was short or the adapter had gone bad. Anyhow, they decided to replace it under warranty but again, they weren't sure when and if the replacement would arrive (as it depends on the inventory levels with Lenovo India).  An exclusive Lenovo shop then offered me an original Lenovo power adapter with USB 3.0 charging at USD 70 but only when it got delivered, I see that it is 40W and not 65W like the original one I had.  65W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter (one which connects the laptop) is orange. The wall adapter doesn't heat up while laptop is charging.40W adapter - the USB 3.0 connecter is yellow. The wall adapter heats up quite a lot while the laptop is charging.  The Lenovo store representative has assured me that this is the right adapter but somehow I am not convinced.  Can the community throw some light on this:- Is it safe to use a 40W adapter for a 65W specification?- Is there any way I can get the adapter replaced by Lenovo US (I can ship the faulty adapter to US)?- I... Hi Everyone, Recently purchased Yoga 370 with USB-C to Displayport adapter (FRU 03X7204) to connect to my DELL U2412M. When I plugged in the adapter to the Yoga, it detects as "USB Billboard Device". Google tells me that it means something went wrong when during the handshake between dongle and notebook for initializing DP alternate display mode. I have nothing else to go on because there is no error message displayed... I have switched TB 3 mode to Displayport and USB in BIOS and that did not work. Anyone has any ideas? Much appreciated in advance.

Help!  My Lenovo Yoga 3 14 is no longer accepting the charge from my power adapter. And, naturally, it could not have come at a more inconvenient time. When I unplug and plug it back in, it gives me the following message in the lower right-hand corner:"USB device not recognizedThe last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it." When I click for details, it gives me this:"The last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly." Except this isn't just any USB device - it's the ever-loving power adapter for this thing! I've tried everything and I'm at my wit's end. Sound was working when I went to bed, in the morning it wasn't.  Popup on speaker icon in system tray says "no audio output device is installed." Updated all drivers using iObit Driver scanner.  When that didn't find an audio adapter I rand the driver scanner on the Lenovo support site and it said no new drivers were needed.  Ran recovery from the startup and chose option to completely wipe the hard drive, files, progrmas etc. and install Windows 10 to factory settings - still no sound adapter. Saw a similar forum post with a link to a Reatek driver so installed it - no change.  Also followed instructions to uninstall sound in device manager but it wasn't there to uninstall. Ran Lenovo diagnostics from support site and it says there are no hardware problems and it sees sound adapter. I'm stumped. Any suggestions?

Hi,due to a problem with the screen turning black in tablet mode I've opened the case on a newly acquired (a refurbished model) Lenovo Yoga 260 to check for cable connection.I did not touch any circuit/ chip/ component, apart from gently nudging the screen connection cable. Upon the following reboot the system was halted on this error:"1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the network card." I tried this solution without success. If I unplug the Wlan board everything works as expected. If I plug it back the same error is thrown. Could you suggest a solution? Also, where can I find a list of whitelisted wlan adapters for Lenovo Yoga 260. May be they've installed a non whitelisted one on this refurbished system, although it would not make sense for it to throw the error just after opening the case. Thanks for any help. All the best.

Last year I had the laptop sent to Lenovo to replace my screen because my brightness would not change. Since then, the wifi adapter would "disappear*" randomly, though not often, sand I would have to reinstall the intel WLAN drivers to fix it. I though it wasn't going to be a problem. However, in the past two days, the wifi driver would disappear every time I turn on the laptop. Reinstallation did not bring it back and repairs did not work. I had to resort to using an external wireless adapter. The volume down button seems to be stuck down, not physically but more like it was "stickied".*disappear- the drivers would be missing, not disabled. Device manager does not show a wifi adapter existing.

Good day and welcome to the community.

There is no way to upgrade the graphics subsystem on your machine. The Intel HD 520 is integrated in the chipset package. Though some laptops have discrete graphics chips, almost none were socketed. They're soldered, instead.

Hope this helps to clarify.

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Hi, The problem I have with my Lenovo Y700 can be described by the following scenarios:1. After the PC being turned off for at least 10-15 minutes, I turn it on (AC adapter is plugged in), then I get either:a) a BSOD with  Bugcheck code: 0x113 (0x19, 0x2, 0x10DE, 0x139B) and error VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR,b) a wrong NVIDIA graphics card detected, forming a second entry in device manager with different instance ID (the SUBSYS part is set to all zeroes) - Windows installs some old driver for itc) the right NVIDIA device detected, but without directx 12 properly enabled (when I run dxdiag, the supported version of directx is set to 11.4, not 12)After a restart everything goes back to normal - the right card, the right driver, the right directx (sometimes I need another restart because when correct card is detected, drivers are sometimes reinstalled). This lasts until I shut the PC down for another more than about 10 minutes - after that, everything starts again.2.
