Preferred Solution: Solved: Acer Aspire 5738ZG can´t connect to WIFI.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Yea, I had a laptop that went overheating the day I purchased it from a website called MPX.
I asked for them to either pay me back, fix the machine or send me a new one, and they wanted to fix the machine.
So I waited for a post which would allow me to ship it back to them free of charge,
waited 1.5 months for this, and then I never got it, so I sent it back to them by paying the fee.
They tested it over 72hours running 3D mark 06, claiming they saw no overheating at all, so they sent it back.
Todat I got it, installed 3d mark 06 and CSS which was the program I used it for in the first place. I then ran 3d mark 06 over 1minute, reaching 90degrees so I shut it off.
Then I put the machine at idle mode, so it reached back to 50.
Tried CSS, low quality, windowed mode for 10minutes, then the computer had a shutdown, because the temperature reached 105degrees, which happened all the time back when I first got it. It also overheats at simple flash games, reachinng around 70-80 degrees. Also tried formatting it back to factory mode.

The computer is a Acer aspire 5738ZG
Nvidia g105m graphics card and such, just google it.
What should I do? Even tried placing books and such under it, wasn't much of a difference really. I used SpeedFan, HWMonitor, rivatuner and coretemp to check the temperature of the gpu.
Hhelp please

A:Solved: Acer aspire 5738ZG fails at games

Just send it straight to Acer so they can send a refund claim to MPX if they claim that it doesn't overheat. No? Should be possible. Still, send Acer an email to confirm this...

You could always use cooling pads and such, but if the design is that badly flawed, not a rare thing to happen with cheap laptops, it's really not worth it...

Hello,

I am thinking about buying an Acer Aspire 5738ZG laptop with specs:
2,2 GHz Intel pentium dual core T4400 processor
4096 MB RAM
640 GB harddisk
ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics

I would like to be able to play newer games like cod mw2, would that be possible?
According to this page - http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4650.13883.0.html
and to this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmeFZSX6iec ,
it should run newer games somewhat fine, but since I have very little knowledge about computers and graphics cards, I just wanted to ask someone before spending a lot of money

-Thanks

Hello!I have a problem with installing an ssd to my laptop. I own an Acer aspire 5738ZG ( Model Name: AS5738ZG | Part Number: LX.PF202.002 ) laptop. After I installed it in my laptop (it was done correctly), I moved forward to install Windows. I selected the advanced drive option in order to format the ssd (because it was unallocated space) and I got the following messageQ"windows cannot be installed to this disk. this computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's bios menu." So I searched for solutions and, because I saw that many others had similar ploblem when installing a ssd, I assumed that it can be fixed.I tried to install it with the sata drive option AHCI and then IDE and then AHCI again. I tried to create a promary partition with DISKPART in cmd. I even tried a command "convert to gpt" (I don't even know what it means or does - it was suggested in some articles). hen I called the shop I bought the ssd for technical support. They checked the disk (it is fine), they installed windows 10 to the ssd and told me to update the BIOS and call ACER for support. I downloaded the updates from the ACER support page (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support-product/1122?b=1&pn=LX.PF202.002), so I updated the BIOS to the latest version and the SATA ACHI driver. None of the above worked. It still doesn't boot fron the ssd.  I had noticed that it doesn't recognize the ssd in the boot ... Read more

Noobie saying hi :)

Over the last month or so my lappy has begun locking up when under stress - running Football Manager and Chrome in background/ running a recent game (CoD: MW3). Sometimes it just happens when I'm playing a film in VLC.

The screen freezes, if sound is playing then it slows down and sounds like a growl, mouse doesn't move, caps lock/ num lock can't be pressed, processor light stops flashing.

This usually went away after waiting around a minute but a couple of times recently I've gotten a dreaded blue screen and Windows creates a dump for me - can anyone decipher these (attached) and see if they can find what my problem is?

Pentium Dual Core T4300 @ 2.10GHz
4GB RAM
Windows 7 SP1 64 bit
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570

Computer has been getting incredibly hot recently too - could this just be through overheating?

Thanks for any help1

A:Acer Aspire 5738ZG randomly freezes

Hi taipan99,

It definately sounds to me like a heating issue. Get a can of compressed air and blow the laptop out. Make sure it is off, unplugged and have the battery out (so that you do not turn it on by accident while cleaning it). Blow the air throughout the laptop making sure that you get where the vents are really good.
If the laptop still runs hot after blowing it out, you should either take it to a shop to get it cleaned (where they would take it apart to clean properly), or you could invest in a laptop cooler.

A:BSOD on Acer Aspire 5738ZG with Windows 7 Home Premium

Not a very firm answer, but several of the memory dumps blame NETIO.SYS
This is a component of the Windows networking subsystem
As such, I'd first suggest that you:
- download the latest drivers for your network device from the manufacturer's website
- uninstall the current networking drivers using Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
- install the freshly downloaded drivers and see if that stops the BSOD's

Here's a summary of the BSOD's:

Well the problems exactly what the title says, i can connect to my wifi but not the internet...
I tried a variety of the different solutions that i've found online (e.g. updating the driver, uninstalling the driver then rebooting causing it to reinstall as new hardware, reseting my tcp stack) but so far no luck..
I've connected it to the same network using an ethernet cable and it all works fine, the same can be said for when i connect to any other wireless network.. It only seems to be my wireless network which doesnt work... We recently changed our internet in the house from bt to virgin, and this was when the problem started, however, all of the other wireless devices work fine.

My partners Aspire 5315 laptop will not connect to our newly installed Virgin wifi. Virgin have tried to access while hard wired and can see no issue with wifi, my laptop runs without issue Samsung Q35.
When trying to connect Windows Network Diagnostics the message that comes up is;
Cannot communicate with primary DNS Server(194.168.4.100).
Network diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not receive a response.

We can take her Aspire laptop out and connect to friends WIFI (Virgin, BT etc.) without any issues but cannot do this on our own wifi at home. Every diagnostic thats been run shows no issues with anything.

The wireless adapter details are as follows;
Adapter name:Atheros AR5007EG Wirelss Network Adapter
MAC Address: 00-1F-3A-85-4B-62
DHCP Enabled: Enabled
IP Address: 192.168.0.6

DHCP Server: 192.168.0.1
Primary DNS Server: 194.168.4.100
Secondary DNS Server: 194.168.8.100

When I hard wire the internet through the ethrnet connection I have no issues but kinda defeats the purpose of WIFI for my partner.

Any Einsteins out there that can offer assistance?

Hi I have an Acer Aspire X3950 desktop, I am running Win7 and have tried two different wifi adapters and they install but they will not connect. It is almost as if my computer itself is blocking the adapter. I spoke to an On Networks rep for over two hours and he tried everything from reinstalling to rebooting and tried three different drivers. He was from a different country and when I told him what the troubleshooter said he would not deviate from the script they give them.... 2 hours and he was not even close. It saw the device but it wouldn't even blink. Acers website nor customer service will assist me because my warranty is expired. They want me to send the computer back but I have a feeling it is an easy fix I just don't know enough about computers to say oh just uncheckmark this box. I know in the past I used wifi but switched to an ethernet cable. I don't have the option to use an ethernet cable at this time.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A:Acer Aspire X3950 Desktop, W7 unable to connect WiFi Adapter

What firewall or security suite is, or ever was, on the system?

Install one of the adapters, make sure you have the latest driver from the adapter manufacturer's web site, and ...

What exactly happens when you try to connect?

Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If you need help with that see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows 8 or 7 or Vista I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool.

Identify your network if it is not obvious.

Also show ...

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Hi everyone!

I'll cut right to the chase: I've been having some serious problems with wifi detection. There are times when the wifi is detected successfully, but most days, my laptop can't seem to detect any. The wifi light goes on and off as well. Also, there are times when the wifi suddenly just goes off and fails to detect any, even after it has already started working.

Usually, I have to turn off my laptop and wait for it to cool before the wifi starts working again. I already have that power save mode option unchecked, so I don't really know what's causing the problem. Once my laptop goes hot, the wifi suddenly disappears.

Any ideas?

Hi,

My neighbour's laptop (Acer Aspire 5551 running Windows 7) disconnected itself from the WiFi network and would not reconnect. The 'falling off' happened mid use. The laptop connects fine to another wifi router at another house. Also, my laptop connects to his router OK via wifi.

The router has been turned off and on with no difference.

I connected the Acer to the router with a cable (network connection OK with cable) and did an ipconfig /all, but now I am stuck as I don't really know what I am looking for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The router is a netgear DGN2200 v4

The laptop can see the router, it just won't authenticate with it.

Also, I can run Xirrus Wifi Inspector if required.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, any help on this would save my shattered nerves!!!

My acer aspire one netbook got the blue screen of death, (end of error hexidecimal code was 000007B). I tried to resolve it, but gave up in the end and did the 'erecovery' via cmd prompt f10, and went back to factory default setttings. Worked perfectly. I then did a 'Restore' from my Backup (Clickfree Backup System btw), and got all my files back. I then tried to get back online.

I am connected to my wifi signal (excellent strength) on the netbook, but not connected to the internet. It isn't an issue with the wifi, as I am connected to internet fine using my other pc (a laptop), and my ipod touch is also still connected and fine.

I ran connection diagnostic in Internet Explorer, which said it was damaged winsock. I've tried winsock repair from Diagnostic in Internet Explorer Tools: did nothing. I've also tried running a winsock fix program, that also did nothing. From the cmd screen I've tried to 'ping' yahoo and BBC: nothing. I've tried to reset the IP Config, and that did nothing.

I'm out of ideas and losing hope!!! Please, can anyone help me?

Navigate to "IBSS Mode" change value from 802.11a/b/g Auto to 802.11a/b/g Performance6. Navigate down to the last property ("XPress (TM) Technology") change value from Disabled to Enabled. MY SPEED WENT FROM .75MBPS TO 20.14MBPS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY HOUSE.  Please comment and let me know if this works for your R7 or any other Acer laptop. If this does not work also try setting "IBSS Mode" to 802.11a/b/g Auto -Kaii tried this and i did see a incress on the speed a bit but when i watch netflix or play my music on my google play music it play for a bit then gets all crappy again, it work fine when im close to my home router, but as for my verizion 4g wifi hotspot, it dont work well, even if im on top of my 4g router, i can run my usb wifi chip with no problems even when i am far away from both routers, i hope acer can help me out when i call them tomarrow about this. thanks for posting this by the way

Firstly apologies if this is answered elsewhere (if it is, pls direct me to the post). A friend of mine has a Acer Aspire One (about 6 years old). It's running Windows 7 Pro. He's in a condo & connects to the wifi there. After a while (time varies), the wifi drops. Whilst the wifi is up & running clicking on the network icon in the system tray shows all available connections. As soon as the wifi drops, hovering/clicking on the icon does nothing. Going into Network Connections & disabling the Wifi there (in order to subsequently re-enable it) does nothing. I.e. you can select/click 'Disable' but it doesn't. Nothing short of a reboot solves the issue - until the next time which may occur in 5 minutes or 2 hours (who knows). I've looked on the Acer website (to see if there is a driver to download) but I guess the Aspire One has long since gone. Any ideas would be most welcome.

A:Acer Aspire v5 WIfi Issue?

From the screen shot it shows you are connected but are having a DNS problem. Preinstalled A/V software tends to cause this problem on a regular basis. It might be good to make sure you are using some valid DNS server IP's in your router like Google at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Try removing or uninstalling any type of trial Anti Virus software which no doubt came preinstalled on your system. You will need to use the vendor specific uninstall tool for this.

It can also help to remove all preinstalled bloatware by using Decrapifier to show you what can be safely removed.

Hey everyone, using a driver utility I have managed to get a Atheros Wifi driver for the Acer Aspire One. After you download it, just un-zip the contents and launch setup.exe, you don`t even need to uninstall previous drivers. The LED light works and it works after every reboot. The only problem you may come across is Network Location Awareness has stopped working (only happens after every 10 boots or so) ENJOY

Are you're saying the AOA150's default WiFi was or is of noteable issue, not as good as...?

If either, what Atheros driver version? Where'd you get it?

The novice I am, I have no idea if I can actually connect two laptops (an XPH SP3 & Windows 7 Pro) in a home network (so as to share my internet connection and files), but Ifailed at the point where it prompted me of invalid IP address (so I gave up as that effort resulted in losing my LAN connectivity).

Maybe that's not even possible with a simple DSL ethernet modem (it's not a WiFi routing modem), unless what, maybe I could achieve that aim via BlueTooth?

Several reasons that can happen. If both networks dont have encryption turned and are of almost equal strength it can skip from one to another. Do you have encryption turned on?

Another reason is if you have checked connect to his network when in range checked.

Hey folks,I'm having issues with my wifi as of a few weeks now. Usually I'll turn on my laptop and it'll will do its thing and start up and connect to the wifi that's in range and life will be dandy. As of late though it'll just say that there are networks available and I'll have to click on my network and it'll say connecting and hang for awhile then say something along the lines of cannot connect to network. If I try to connect again the Wifi network will disappear. If I leave it alone it will connect at random times but when I try to connect to a website using 2 different browsers it will have just say connection timed out, cannot connect to webpage, etc. When the connection does stay connected I'll have intermittent packet loss and if I troubleshoot sometimes it will say "The DNS server isn't responding." Note that this is the only laptop that gets wifi issues out of the 6 or 7 that are on the network.Things I have tried to resolve this issue:1) Use the troubleshooter.2) Disable to option that lets my computer turn off the wifi adapter.3) Reset my router4) release/renew IP5) release/register DNS6) disable Anti-Virus / Firewall / Bluetooth7) Uninstall/reinstall Wifi driversAny other ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks =)Computer Specs:Windows 8.1 64-bitIntel Core i5 3427UCPU: 1.80GHzRAM: 12GBWifi: Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter Driver Version: 10.0.0.263

Ok i noticed it at work and thought it was just our wireless router there, but my laptop couldnt detect any wifi connections, i was going to check the router but put it off since i'm the only one who uses it. but now am home and am having the same issue, it wont detect any networks, i reset my router, and made sure it was configured properly. it is as far as i can tell. when i click to change the button to change the order of prefered networks it took me to authentication tab of the properties. i ran the network setup wizard again, and now it doesnt even have the authentication tab... i dont know what else to check.. oh, and i also checked the bios to see if it had any wifi settings there. it doesnt seem to.

thanks in advance.

Hello all. So a day ago my Ethernet wasn't working and I couldn't rely on a wired connection, so I looked at some fourms and was told to remove the Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet driver, which is what I did, and I restarted the computer. When I turned it back on I reinstalled the driver and the ethernet worked. But the WIFI did not.  So I looked up how to fix it and attempted to reinstall the driver and I also added another driver in the process. None worked and I've tried nearly everything to fix it. Installing a new driver, reinstalling, flushing dns, disabling and enabling the service, even reinstalling the BIOS, and tons of other stuff but I've had no luck so far. The wierd thing that happens is the WIFI option is greyed out but the Network Connections say it's enabled.  Also, in Device Manager when I go to the Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet driver it says "Device Not Started" Any idea what's causing the immense amount of problems I'm dealing with on my computer?   P.S. I won't be able to post for a few days, because of a trip and I cannot bring my computer because it's usless if I don't have ethernet. So please hurry because I will be leaving tommorow. On 8/8/16 Thanks, Brad

If the wireless card is easily accessible through a small cover on the laptop bottom look to see if one is there and make sure it is secure.
