My Brothers Wifi Drops out when he tries to play any games.

Q: My Brothers Wifi Drops out when he tries to play any games.

My brothers WiFi will cut off when he tries to play any games whether online or not.

He can download files fine off the net, talk on net voice chats like Skype, but as soon as he tries to play a game he drops out.

His WiFi works fine at my house, but when he takes his PC back to his WiFi network the problem returns.

He has tried another adapter, re installed all the drivers.

What do you think could be the problem?

If you want any error logs or anything please let me know as I don't know where they are and I will grab them off him.

This problem has been occurring for a few months and we have not found a way to fix it

Preferred Solution: My Brothers Wifi Drops out when he tries to play any games.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I am currently using a Thinkpad L440. For about a year and a half now, I have been having random Wifi drops on my laptop. The wifi will suddenly stop working and my browser will prompt me to run Windows Diagnostics. Windows Diagnostics will detect the problem and reset my wifi adapter which fixes the problem. Then the same problem occurs after some time. I tried updating all the drivers, as well as the BIOS. I also tried removing the wifi apapter driver through Device Manager and reinstalling but this did not solve the isse. In fact, the wifi seems slower after doing this. As a note, whenever I run a scan using LSC, under WIreless > Local Connection Test, I get a warning sign. This has been consistent for about as long as the problem has been occuring.  Model: L440BIOS: J4ET91WW(1.91)Wifi Adapter: 2x2 11bgn Wireless LAN M.2 Adapter Appreciate any advice.

when i start playing a game for a example i will use dirt rally what i have on ultra 60 fps but after 50 mins or so it drops to about 20-34fps why?

A:fps drops the longer i play

Most likely memory on the gpu seeing you only have 2gb card
8gb of system ram might also be a small handicap but not as much as the gpu though where you're on minimal system spec's on newer games that I've read.

As the title says, my sound drops whenever I play a game on my PC, so I turn the volume up & 20 mins later it blasts out because the sound has reset or is back to its normal level.
This seems to happen is every game, I use a Realtek Onboard HD as my sound but I also went and bought a 7.1 Soundcard (Speedlink Stage 7.1) and it did the same issue, I then installed the Speedlink into my wifes other quad core PC & it is working fine, not a single issue or drop.
I have ever asked some tech guys, who said it may be my AV or programs like "Steam" running in the background, but the wife uses "Steam" also with zero effects, we both use the same AV/security (COMODO Internet Security), and again she has no problems.
I use Cambridge soundworks 5.1 speakers as does the missus.

No, nvidia is the audio for your HDMI. From the GPU to the monitor.

It could be a broken jack or wire. Try plugging different speakers into your computer and then try plugging your speakers into a different audio source, if you can

If you think you can, you can look up drivers for both of those devices and make sure you have the most up to date ones. Your motherboard will require all its updates, as well as you video card, and your sound card. But before all this, run windows update to see if there is any important updates you need and any "optional" compatability updates or updates to the windows system. You never know, it could help

I play CSS, Americas Army, and Call of duty 4 on my laptop. I usually run cod4 and css at 125 frames while I play and America's Army is capped at 85. Every 5 minutes or so of gameplay my framrate drops to about 20-30 for about 10-20 seconds. This causes some significant problems during match play.I have attached my dxdiag to this post.

I shut down my laptop every night, I have it in an air conditioned room and it sits on a laptop cooler. I unplugged my external harddrive and updated all of my drivers 2 days ago. I have also turned all of the graphics to low and I cannot stop these frame drops.

You may have a virus from that software. That may be the issue. Reformat and clean install windows. After you do that, go to AMDs website and download the latest 13.4 graphics driver. Tell me if that solves it.

A:FPS drops while play Counter-Strike / Warcraft

You do know there is no such thing as a legitimate copy of Windows XP SP3 Performance Edition. Only goodness knows what's included on that install, but the obvious issue is your video card. It's slightly better than a on-board video chip. That card is the kind used for extending a desktop over 2 monitors or watching a blu-ray movie on an HD monitor, it isn't the kind you play games on and expect to get great frame rates. Your frame rates drop because your video card is struggling to draw everything in your line of sight. Your memory is fine for XP. I used to have 2 GB of memory when I was using XP, just make sure you have less than five programs running in the system tray at any time. My anti-virus, sound and video driver appear in the system tray, so you may want something similar to that too.

So this one is pretty weird for me. I've never had any issues like this before, but I think it has to do with having all my drivers up to date. I was having this problem for a long time where I couldn't run games for too long because eventually the whole screen would get all glitchy and the last second of sound would repeat itself over and over until the monitor went into power saving mode. I tried reinstalling drivers, installing different graphic drivers like NGO and Omega which I had before.. Nothing worked!

Well, just recently my friend showed me this program driver cleaner pro and he said it helped him with his driver issues. So I followed the directions, uninstalled my drivers, cleared everything with the program in safe mode, restarted and reinstalled the drivers. Voila, all my games work with no issues at all, except for Counter-Strike 1.6.
Then I tried to watch a movie; It plays fine, I can hear the sound fine, but the video doesn't play. Even when I tried to record a video with fraps of one of my emulators (which has worked before), it didn't show video on playback.

So I restarted my computer.. now all my games don't work except Diablo 2, Starcraft, and CS 1.6. However, now I can watch movies with no problem at all! These past couple of weeks I've been having to go through the whole process of using driver cleaner pro, and installing Omega drivers again everytime my computer needed to reboot.

When I go to play CS: Source, it will get... Read more

This is a very weird problem. Starting from three days ago my laptop's wifi capabilities dropped suddenly. I hadn't dropped it or installed anything that could have caused it. I could get no WiFi unless I was in the same room as the router. Meanwhile my phone could get WiFi same as before all around the house.

I tried a system restore, updating everything and things like that. Today I noticed that the WiFi icon would show two bars just as the lid is opened but quickly changes to no signal. I figured out that if I angle the lid below 45 degrees and just before the display turns off, I get great signal strength just as I used to!

Now it is very inconvenient to use the laptop like that which is why I am typing this from my phone. Can you guys help me please I really needed to fill out lots of forms from that machine. Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

Got a bit of a weird issue here. I've owned my WAG54GX2 for about... 2 years maybe, and I've got no complaints all round. My usage hasnt changed nor any settings within this period.

However... Over the last week, for some reason the WiFi Connection gets destroyed. I've only seen it once at the point where the Wifi Light goes out (something i've never seen before) - but generally the 2 WiFi conencted PC's fail to keep the connection, they drop out, and fail to get an IP, and when they do manage to get 'on' the connection is terrible. In the mean time, I run wired on 2 boxes that have no noticeable issues at all. Its like the WiFi just gets totally jammed up.

I've tried my hardest to establish what has changed, what is new, whats different at night, and theres just nothing.

Turning off the router and back on seems to have no effect either.

I've attached some logs, I dont know what 99% of it means. But thought maybe someone here could shed some info by translating them.

the Anisdktool seems to be started a lot? normal?

and wns msg tcvd: no idea what thats all about?

ring full looks a bit "** alerting***" but no idea what this is telling me either.

This is super frustrating any insight would be great.

2) Restart your PC.
3) Download and install the latest 13.4 driver from here: http://goo.gl/Ed8t.

To get straight to the point: I'm having issues with fps in games. I've had this for some time now, and I'm not sure what started it. After about a week of having this issue, I decided to format my computer to see if that fixed the problem. The problem persisted and It's getting increasingly annoying because it makes certain games almost impossible to play.

Games in which I have this issue (until now):

League of Legends (most important for me, somewhat rare but I dip as low as 10 fps)
Battlefield 3 (I'm sure this is not hardware related, because 3 weeks ago I ran it 50-60 fps on high. Dipping to 20-30 fps, which is severely impairing in a game like this)
War Inc Battlezone (the problem manifests itself most clearly in this game, because it has an fps-display that shows when you get below 20. I'm having it like once every 2,5 min. Drops to about 15-20)
Minecraft (very rare, but it does happen sometimes. I go from v-synced 60 fps to ~20)
Above are all the games I've installed and play currently, so I don't know if I have it in others. But the fact that I'm having the problem in ALL currently installed games says enough for me to know there's a problem.

What have I tried to fix this problem?

I've updated and installed all of the latest drivers for my hardware. I also checked if any of those drivers/any of my hardware were incompattible in some way.
I've messed around with the settings in Catalyst Control Cen... Read more

This started awhile ago pretty randomly. I play WoW, TF2, CSS, SWTOR, and LoL. I experiance the same strange drop in FPS into single digits for about 5-10 seconds, then right back up to 60-70 FPS. I have tried everything that I know and am still getting the strange drop in FPS.

I have reinstalled Win7, updated all drivers, etc. I have ran AV software, and Malwarebytes, and got nothing. When I run my games i run Gamebooster, still nothing. Cleaned my cache, cookies, defragged, everything and still I get these nasty FPS drops.

I'm running

64bit Win7
Intel Core Duo2 3GHz
Geforce 8600 GT

So yeah, if anyone out there could help I would much appreciate it. All I wanna do is play my games without this annoying FPS drop. Thanks All.

Hello everyone. I bought this  HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook - 15-ak002nl in February. As i love gaming and travel a lot, this seemed a pretty decent option for me. However, after the first 4-5 months of flawless use (while i mostly played games like The Witcher 3, Diablo 3, Dark Souls - all of them at a minimum of 35 fps), it began to show some issues. Basically, once every 1-2 or more minutes (but this depends on the game i'm playing) fps drops by 50% or more, especially in more engaging and graphically heavy moments.  This happens on every game i'm playing (which is now World of Warcraft, but i also tried other games and the same thing happens).  I tried updating drivers, reinstalling games, cleaning the inside of the notebook, using a fan beneath it, reinstalling Windows, reloading the default HP settings - with no use. I then tried with the HP telephonic assistance, which tried to change some graphic settings withing the nVidia control panel and installing some HP drivers. No use.  At that point, they told me to send them the notebook so they could try to fix it. They kept the notebook for 2 weeks, after that they sent it back to me, claiming they changed the motherboard. And the problem is still here.  I don't know what to do anymore, to be honest. This notebook should be able to run these games at a decent framerate, and it's not doing that anymore. Any advice?

The deal with what's happening is I was able to run things at 60 fps and up, It was like this up until today, where everything involving games just dropped in fps. I go from 60 fps to a solid 30 or less. This is really annoying me because I can't find anything aobut this in the internet after hours of searching and the only solution I can find is just system rebooting the computer. I don't want to go through that 5+ hour process and that's why I'm here. Also I don't really want to hear the whole "restart your computer" sort of thing because that's usually what I have found. Any help at all is really appreciated. Please and thank you.

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Firstly, nobody other than you has any idea what we are working with at this stage!

Please provide the exact make and model of the machine, assuming its a prebuilt PC like a HP, Dell etc?

If it is a self / custom build, please provide make and model for the motherboard, CPU, RAM, Graphics, Hard Drive(s), Power Supply etc. The more info the better.

What operating system are you using and is it 32 or 64 bit?

Recently bout the past week or so i have been getting like 20 secound lag or fps drops in my games and it happens every 10-15 minutes. I know its not that my computer cant handle it the games that im playing worked fine before i tried turning graphics down also did nothing. I have malewarebytes and kaspersky on my computer and neither one found the problem and still random lag spikes. They are online games and i restarted my router i redid the graphics drivers. Now im stuck and dont know where to go next to try to fix it. Also its just the games i had one run in windowed mode and my internet explorer surfs at normal speed i can talk on msn messenger with no lag its just the games.

Windows Vista 64bit
AMD Phenom X4 9550 Qaud Core
Nvidia GeForce 9100 (i know crappy but im in the process of upgrading it soon)
Kaspersky 2010 activated product not trail

let me know if u need anymore information

A:Random Lag or FPS drops in games

Unfortunately for you allot of online games don't like being played in windowed mode (despite the option being there) with the majority builds out there, i for one never play in windowed mode as it drains that extra resources.
It has something to do with the information sent from your pc and their server and vice versa and information getting mixed up and trying to resolve itself or just lost which usually ends up in connection loss and you have to re-logg back in.

The build you have is ok (even though i'm not a vista fan and would suggest upgrading to XP or windows 7) and the GeForce 9100 series cards from my experience have been temperamental.
Does the same issue happen even in full mode for you?

So for a couple months my PC has been relied annoying me so basically every time I play a game I get random fps drops and they aren't normal drop e.g. Going from 60-50 fps I go from 100 fps to 10 for a couple seconds I don't think it could be anything to do with my hardware because none of it is very old my CPU is an AMD fix 8350 which is a good CPU the only other component that I think it could be is my motherboard which is Asrock 970 EXTREME4 but I have no idea what i could be. I have also looked at maybe some software that could be the problem, but every time look at task manager while playing something but there is something that is affecting the CPU. So this where I don't know what to do, do I get a new CPU and motherboard or something else any ideas would be much appreciated

A:Cpu usage drops in games

Very likely a software issue. Something is running and using the cpu.

You can watch Task Manager as you noted. You could also disable everything not essential to the PC operation. After you confirm the problem stops, enable them again one at a time. When the problem reoccurs, you will then know what is causing the problem.

Whenever I play any game online on xbox, my internet connection drops. For example, when I play black ops, I have a full 4 bar green connection when I'm spectating someone. Yet as soon as I'm alive, it drops straight down to 1 red bar. This happens with every game I play. I have an open NAT, so it can't be because of that and I use a wired connection. The same thing happens when I use wireless. I've tried resetting my internet, that doesn't work either. I've also opened ports to my xbox to see if that made a difference, which it didn't. I have a BT Home Hub V2, this is my current connection, http://www.speedtest.net/result/1384375590.png

So yeah, silly me Installed windows 10 anniversary update (i could have chose not to) and now i keep getting disconnecting from my wifi every 2-10 mins. It was working perfectly before it. And I tried everything, believe me. Rolling back to previous build (this had to work :/), turning off power saving mode on my network adapter, reinstalling it, downloading new drivers from Asus website, I've also tried winsock reset, dns flush, ip config release etc. Also turning off my firewall, disabling realtek ethernet adapter, antivirus haven't helped me at all. And yeah I can access my internet with ethernet cable and other devices are working without problems. I also tried an external wifi adapter and had the same problem.
Funny thing is I can still access ipv6 websites after it gets disconnected, it has something to do with DNS. (Yes I also tried putting Google DNS servers). The only thing that I haven't tried is installing wifi drivers that I have on my asus disk that came with loptop (will do it later today)
If you're interested here's my network adapter: mediatek mt7630e
Help will be appreciated, thank you in advance.

Hey guys in the last day or so, my Technicolor TG587n v3 modem's wifi disconnects and then restarts whenever I reboot my galaxy S4, wired internet stays connected but wifi turns off, any ideas?

A:Modem drops wifi

Okay. Who is your ISP. There has been known issues for that model. That is why most go with their own equipment for Internet. Too many issues with the all-in-one gateways.

You could just turn off the onboard wifi, and use a Wireless Access Point instead. I use the Engenius ECB-350 for my network. Never have had any issues with it. I can pick it up to 75' from my house.

My wifi driver disappears from my HP Envy laptop. The driver is a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adaptor. Prior to and after upgrading the operating system to Windws 10, the computer would not display the Qualcommm upon startup. Rather, the computer would not detect any wifi capaility and any troubleshooting information provided was to plug in a cable for internet. Searching for the Qualcomm doesn't help. For the last 4 startups the Qualcom has not reappeared. We ethen removed the Windows 10 operating system and reverted back to Windows 8.1, Th e qualcomm and wifi appeared briefly, but the computer froze and now, following 4 start-ups it does not reappear. I Have had this problem since upgrading to windows 7 /64

When i type using keyboard for whatever reason the internet wifi drops. I am using a TP link unit. It is more apparent when i am typing emails in windows live mail.

Is this a problem that anyone has experienced. I have switched from wireless keyboard to wired. What actually happens is even offline the keyboard itself drops out, i start receiving a note/tone each time i press the keyboard buttons when it has dropped out. When online if the keyboard drops out the wireless drops with it.

I have to kick in the keyboard again by using the mouse to click the screen. The mouse also drops out when scrolling using the
wheel. again i have to click the screen to reinstate

It has dropped six times typing this note.

I assume there is a little USB connected radio ("dongle") that communicates with the wireless keyboard. When you switched keyboards did you also disconnect the "dongle"?

I recently purchased a LG Optimus P500h with Android 2.2. I have a problem with its wifi. At home I have Dlink router DIR-825. My laptop and desktop are working good on this network. But this phone keeps dropping the connection, and starts scaning again and again for no reason. The phone can see the wifi, and is able to connect to it, but drops it after a few seconds. In order to pinpoint the problem, I tried connecting my phone to the public library's wifi, and it worked.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hey All, new to the forum, thanks for the replies in advance, and I'm sorry if I'm not explaining it in the correct terms.

My issue seems to be with my computer. Often, when I am connected to my WiFi router, my internet service, and subsequent connection to the network, drops inexplicably. My computer will claim it is no longer connected. When I attempt to reconnect, the computer claims it cannot. The troubleshooter also cannot find an issue. All the while, other devices and computers on the network will be perfectly connected without interruption. The only way to fix this is to actually go to the router, reset it, and wait. This can happen within 5 minute of being reset, 20 minute, an hour, or sometimes, days go by without it being an issue. No rhyme. No reason. (That I can find)

Other times, my network, will just...slow down. I'll see the connection drop from full signal to 4 bars. If I catch it then, I can run the troubleshooter and everything will be restored (although the message the computer returns is that there was no problem found). Either this, or if I turn off my wifi, then turn it back on, reconnect to my network, boom, speed restored!

This is driving me insane. I can't seem to fix it. Any help is appreciated, as I am quite tired of having to march across the room 3-6 times every day to reset this. Thanks!

I have this annoying problem with Windows 7 while playing a game called Aion in borderless fullscreen.

Whenever I open an always on top application (example: manually setting Task Manager to always on top, or skype informing me of a message I received) the FPS simply plummets down to 20~ish with a lot of stutter to go around with it as well.

Naturally as soon as the application is closed the FPS returns back to normal and everything is fine, however, I do need the game to run in borderless fullscreen mode and I also need always on top applications to run with it (such as Twitch Streamer Tools for example).

Is there any way to stop windows from doing this to my game when such applications are open?

Of course I could also provide a video of exactly what happens if needed.

Heya guys,

Since I've had a good experience with you guys helping me, I thought I'd run an issue by you which I've had forever now..

When I play certain games, I get massive FPS drops during playing. Games with which I'm having this problem currently (and thus, for certain) are Fallout 3, League of Legends, and Left 4 Dead 2

I've tried updating various drivers, killing processen in my task manager, disabling the windows page file, running programs like gamebooster and advanced system care, etc.. etc..

The weird thing is.. after a system reboot, it seems i get a few minutes (5 or so) of normal gaming.. no fps drops or anything.. but after about 5 minutes, they keep happening all the time.. about 20 seconds every minute or so.. even closing the game and restarting doesn't help anything, only a total system reboot seems to give me a little window of normal gameplay..

I've had this problem immediately after a fresh windows install a while ago.. after that, I haven't used this computer for a while because I was in the hospital for about a year for health problems, but now that I'm back the same problems are still there..

The FPS drops also appear to be totally random, and not while something in the game actually (appears) to be happening.. While just standing around in L4D2 and there's not even zombies coming at us.. I get massive fps drops for about 10-20 seconds every minute, making virtually every game unplayable..

Hello guys, I have serious FPS drops in pretty much every game I have tried so far, like LOTRO, DDO, Marvel Heroes Online and more. I have tried everything I could find here and not only, like updating all drivers, BIOS, Windows, etc. I have also performed checks and diagnostics and everything seem to work just fine. I have also tried several solutions that I found here in the Forums, such as switching back to default settings in BIOS and not only, but with no positive results. I really don't know what to do anymore, so I thought to ask for some opinions here. I would really appreciate some help, since I've run out of ideas. The specs of the notebook are pretty good and my FPS never goes above 29(!), no matter what graphics I use (medium, high, low, very high), which is totally unacceptable so something is definitely wrong. Thank you all in advance

Hi, I'm having problems with my FPS in games. This does not apply to only new, hardware demanding games, but to all games I play. Quake 3, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike and the list goes on. I can start playing a game, any game, and after a while it starts... FPS starts dropping from, lets say 80-10 and goes back up to normal with about 5-10 seconds break. It gets more frequently the longer I play and after a while it's about 3-6 seconds break. I have already sent my computer to be overlooked by support and I've got it back with no change... It's really strange cause I don't have to play a new top GFX game to get these drops. I mean come on, Quake 3 ffs... Even with low settings, and my system is not that crappy afaik. Anyway I'm hoping someone can help me deal with this crap cause it's getting old after 2 support sendaways and by the way they did swap my Graphic card from RADEON 9800XT to RADEON x1650 Series so I even got a better one and still drops (maybe even more so now with the new one).

I'm on a new Vista laptop. I'm an idiot when it comes to computer hardware, but I can see/know:
AMD Turion 64 x2 mobile technology
ATI Radeon Xpress 1100

I've played a game called Second Life for 3/4 of a year. I switched to a Vista laptop (had no choice - they were all vista) and noticed sudden drops in FPS. yes, while I had double the ram than my previously laptop and got a generally higher FPS, it would drop for no reason.

For example: I'm staring at a blank wall for 20 seconds. FPS is at 20 (thats GOOD for Second Life). Then for no reason, it goes to 19..17...13...5...2 and then will stay around 2 for maybe 30 seconds and then reverse (go back up) and be fine for maybe 30 seconds, and it'll repeat.

I didn't blame it on the computer at first, so reformatted. It was fine for like a day but started happening again around the time I installed Maya... I uninstalled Maya and it kept happening... so again today I reformatted.

I also noticed my CPU shooting upwards to 100% when this happened.
However it only happened when I played Second Life because I never played many games at the time.

I also bought another game: Half Life 2 EP 2 today. The SECOND it finished reformatting I installed it, and guess what? Same thing. The laptop, with no viruses or spyware affecting it, decides to shoot down to a low FPS for no reason, before recovering itself - and it loops.

It's not overheating because it's always on a cooling pad with 2 fans... I have no idea w... Read more

A:Sudden FPS drops in games for no reason

Hi torrobinson

I would be point the finger at your network card/connection. Second Life is extremely network intesive if i remember, plus it would be just past beta on Vista i think? Also, your graphics are not that powerful, so don't expect much. Make sure you have the latest drivers etc and plug the notebook into mains power and see if that helps.

good luck

I got this laptop from a friend of mine, he hasn't used it much lately but he used to play all kinds of games on it no problems.
The only two games I'v tried so far is World of Warcraft and League of Legends, but in both Ill be running perfectly fine and then just have sudden FPS drops from 60+ down to 3-10 every 30 seconds for 2-4 seconds. Just enough to make me stop what I'm doing completely. He reformatted it right before he gave it to me.

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
AMD Radeon HD 6620G
6gb ram

So far I'v updated the graphics drivers, currently says its 14.100 in device manager.
Checked the temps with SpeedFan, running about 30C not doing anything and 60C while playing games for awhile. Doesn't go any higher. Also, nothing is running in the backround and it does it with high or low settings in the games.

I don't think that's high for the temps and the driver should be right. I don't know what else could be causing an FPS drop like that unless a piece of hardware is going bad.

A:Random FPS drops while playing games.

Try setting your pc to high performance rather than ballanced in power mangment settings. It often works with Laptops. I myself had the same problem a few years back with a desktop, I cleared my whole computer and reinstalled the game, seemed to work, but it was more of a short term fix, ended up buying a new desktop. Hope you can get this sorted, I know how frustrating it is!

I'm currently having an issue in which when I'm in games it will randomly drop the fps to near 0 and lag the system, it feels like something is throttling the CPU, it happens for about 30-60 seconds then goes away and then is completely fine, it only started happening a few weeks ago.
The system i'm using:

System Model: HP ENVY Notebook
Processor: Intel® Core? i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2201 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Ram: 8 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 940M
OS: Windows 10

I'm usually playing league of legends if that helps, but happens in every game.
What I have tried to far:
Fresh install of windows.
Updating graphics drivers.
Changing the 3D settings on NVIDIA control panel to prefer maximum pperformance
Checking the performance when the fps drop happens, nothing spikes.
I'm thinking it might be a temperature issue when something gets to hot and it throttles it, it doesn't feel hot so i'm not sure how to diagnose that.

If you have any ideas, i'd be very grateful.

Since I got the old gpu (AMD Radeon 6950) and the new power supply (700 watt) from my brother I have been having these problems. Diablo 3 had some fps drops while engaging a big wave of enemies and sometimes my computer had some problems that programs weren't responding.

I actually wanted to upgrade my computer for a while and was hoping to fix some of my problems I have been getting (Maybe the gpu was having some problems, because of age?).
So I got the: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 (MSI), a new motherboard : ASRock B75 Pro3-M (CPUSocket), a new RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz and a new Hard Drive: 932GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 (SATA).
I kept my CPU: Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.40GHz and my power supply: corsair cx750.

Since I have been using this build, my computer kept these problems and it has become even worse after 1-2 months. My league of legends started having really bad problems with having major fps drops to the 0-30 fps, sometimes it froze for a couple of seconds. I have been checking my temp for so far, because it's getting pretty warm in my room, but it never has been to a dangerous lvl and it got checked by some of my friends that have some knowledge about it, the highest my CPU got was about 60 degrees. I have tried to reinstall the client, but nothing helped.

I started playing World of warcraft aswell since a week ago and it was impossible for me to play. Fps keeps dropping from the 95 to 0-20. I noticed though when someone lvled up or someone joined somehow... Read more

Could be overheating or software issue. CPUs don't just die. On rare occasions with a heavy OC maybe. But modern CPUs as long as they are properly cooled will last. In fact a silicons chip lifespan is hundreds of years, OCing it would reduce it by what maybe 50%? By the time it dies it will already be obsolete.

I've recently build a new computer but while playing games like battlefield 3 and tf2 I can get random framedrops.

For example, the first time I start battlefield 3 up after launching my pc I get nice a framerate of about 50-60, than after about 20 minutes I start to get framedrops to about 1-5 fps which are gone after 10 seconds. This happens about every 2 minutes and cause me to die, and lag behind. It doesn't matter if I have my setting on high or low, I get the very same result.

I've tried installing diffrent drivers for my graphics card (both normal and Beta drivers) and installing the latest drivers for all the other components.

I'm running a 1-month old windows 8 pro x64 installation.

Here are my specs:

AMD FX-8150 Black Edition
MSI R7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC
Asrock 970 Extreme4
Corsair Vengeance 2x4Gb DDR3
Cooler Master GX 750W
Windows 8 Pro (build 9200)

Bios temps:

M/B: 38.00 °C

Vcore: +1.320

unplugging and restarting my pcrolling back the driving and updating themexchanged the device for a new replacementupdating the motherboard biosun checking the power setting to stop the device from being turned

My laptop Wifi keeps dropping.
InSSider shows the beacon signal strength of my router, -25dB; well above other networks near me, at -80dB.
My router is the only broadcaster on its channel.
InSSider shows receiving the signal at -25 dB, but then drops down to -95dB (which is complete loss) then back up. It may be up for three or four seconds or only a second before dropping. The up/down is continuous.
Control panel shows no warnings. Everything is installed correctly.
I power cycled the router as well as the modem, uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers for the wifi adapter. Installed newer wifi drivers.
I changed channels on the router.
Changed authentication type, then back to WPA2.
ipconfig release all /renew
SSID is not hidden.
Replaced the router and tried everything again.
--signal still up then down then up/down--changing routers gives same results.

Connectivity is constant with Ethernet (non-wireless) connection.

Last night, between 12 a.m and 6 a.m. the wifi signal was steady. No drop out at all. But after 6 the connection is never up for more than a few seconds before going down.
Unable to locate any potential interference--appliances that may have been off during the solid time.
On a different computer, the local network and wifi has good connectivity. InSSider shows the signal coming from the router to be steady, no drop out.

Any ideas?
