What touch screen driver is used on the HP 15-BA079DX

Q: What touch screen driver is used on the HP 15-BA079DX

I recently received a new HP 15-BA079DX. It's running Windows 10 Home Premium x64. It's impressive in every way save one: The touch screen is not working. The product information says it has one and to reinstall the driver to fix it. Looking at the Drvice Manager I can not find a driver for the touch screen on the laptop. When I go to the Support Download site I can't find a driver that mentions the touch screen. So the questions are: 1) Does this system have a touch screen? 2) If yes, what driver do I need to download and from where? 3) If there is a Touch Screen and driver please update the Product support site to include the missing touch screen driver. Thank you. Pat57

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a hp pavilion touchsmart 15-n029so. Unfortunately my touch screen is defect, so 5-6 points on the screen is constant active. Until recently I managed to disable the driver for only the touch driver (not the screen) through device manager, but then a lately update for windows 10 activated the driver again. So now the 5-6 points is constant active, and I cannot login because the screen will not focus on the login field.  This means I cannot login to windows 10. I have also tried to start safe mode (turning off computer repeatly, so it starts up in safe mode), but here the touch screen driver is also active.  How can I disable the touch screen driver without login into windows 10?

I'm on the Driver Download page for the S400 Touch, but I have no idea which driver is for my touch screen.  There are display drivers and mouse/touchpad drivers, but neither of them say anything (at least I don't see it) about the HID touch screen.  Running Windows 7 64bit.  Any ideas?

A few days ago I ran a Windows 8.1 update; ever since then my Touch Screen hasn't worked. After going to my Device Manager it shows that the Touch Screen Driver is missing; obviously the Windows update has something to do with that. I also ran the Hardware Troubleshooter and the result was Error 28 - (The drivers for this device are not installed).I have been looking for a Touch Screen Driver to download but I'm not having any luck finding one. Can sombody please point me in the right direction?

I have an HP LD4200tm 42-inch Widescreen LCD Interactive Digital Signage Display and just replaced my old PC with an new laptop running windows 8 64bit.  The touch feature on my screen no longer is working.  HP does not seem to have drivers for the touch feature for windows 8 64 bit.  Any one know how to fix this issue?  This is killing me having this $3500 display and not being able to use the touch feature.

A:hp ld4200tm touch screen driver

Based on the information located on the Drivers, Software and Firmware for HP LD4200tm 42-inch Widescreen LCD Interactive Digital Signage Di... page as indicated below; NOTE: This version of the iNEXIO Touch Driver is only installed on systems with a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System. The touch driver installation program will not install drivers for Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Windows 7 Operating Systems, because Microsoft Plug-and-Play Touch Drivers are already included in those operating systems. The Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems should be capable of using the HP LD4200tm without HP provided drivers. By extension, Windows 8 should also have Plug-n-Play support for your TouchScreen monitor device. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Please click the white KUDOS star to show your appreciation

FYI, I can't find one either; however, I did notice that LG only supported that monitor up to Vista so you may have a rough road ahead of you trying to get it working. I also noticed that the latest manual is circa 2005. So, do I have the wrong model or did they actually have touch screen monitors way back then? Just curious.

I have two identical HP notebooks that went through the Windows 8.1 'update' to Windows 10.  Oh, how I wish I still had 8.1  :-) Anyway - one made the migration fine and on the other one, the Touch Screen quit working and hasn't worked since.  Going to Device Manager, the driver is gone unless you click to see 'hidden' in which case, it's there albeit grayed out and unusable. From what I've read on the Internet, this problem is almost chronic and lots of people have noted the same problem.  Hopefully HP and Microsoft find a solution soon and if I'd known I'd lose something like this, would have stayed with Windows 8.1. I've tried uninstalling the gray version, tried the HP assistant but didn't want to risk allowing some of the drivers to update, and a couple of other things I've seen on the net but so far, no luck.  I also tried a 3rd party driver from a thread I'd seen on the Lenovo site but it turned out not to be for Windows 10 and wouldn't run properly, have tried updating the drivers individually and manually but so far, nada.  HELP HP.  I'll pay for you to hook up to my computer and fix the problem - just show me the link and how much?  TIA

If you are using Windows 10 have you tried using the Companion 3 app to see if it locates the driver for you?

Otherwise you can do a manual search for newer drivers by visiting the link below.  The download list can be sorted by the most recent date, but it is still a good idea to check version numbers.

I installed Windows Updates about a week ago. After my laptop restarted following the download the touch screen stopped working.  I followed the Troubleshooting instruction which seemed to be on track, until it said to uninstall the driver then restart the PC to force the touchscreen to reinstall.  There was no touchscreen driver to Uninstall and restarting the computer didn't force one to appear.  I think I might need to reinstall the driver, but I don't know what driver I had in the first place or where to install it. I called Microsoft support and they informed me I would need to reinstall the driver from HP.  Problem is, that I don't know where the driver is located.

I presume they don?t know what they are talking about.

As far as I know this Toshiba notebook is almost 15 years old and this old notebook was not delivered with touch screen. Now it is modified and has nothing to do with original state.
Toshiba doesn?t support such modification and such driver doesn?t exist.

To check this you can contact nearest Toshiba service provider in your country and ask for help.

So I have a small 10" touch screen  as a secondary screen and it is recognized and installed when I plug it in the computer. My problem is that the actual touching is severly misplaced and I can not use the calibration tool (Tablet PC Settings in control panel) to correct this problem. It is as if the vertical and horisontal inputs of the screen has been swapped. If I touch the right side on the screen and drag my finger to the left I can see the cursor go from the top to the bottom and if I touch the top and drag down the cursor goes from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen.Installing the drivers from the manufacturer of the touch controller, http://www.eeti.com, did not help at all. It just says there are no touch controllers connected to my computer. Is there a way I can correct this problem?

Haven't updated your laptop's trackpad driver lately? Then you may well want to consider doing so, at least if your laptop is equipped with a Synaptics trackpad. As a user on the Hardware Zone forums discovered, the latest Synaptics driver seems to enable multitouch gestures on older laptops that didn't previously support them, including two-finger scrolling, and three-finger click. What's more, while the drivers themselves come from HP, they should work just fine on other laptops with a Synaptics trackpad. Hit up the link below to try it out for yourself.

ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... However, there is a lot of data on the old laptop that I want to access, including sorting out the licensing of MS Office (by uninstalling from the old one).I cannot do anything about it as the old machine is completely unusable as due to the touch screen being cracked, it seems to think it is constantly being touched in multiple places on the screen. This means that I cannot access the laptop to copy the data or uninstall Office. Anyone know any way around this that doesn't involve taking it to a repair shop to "recover" my data. Cheers

My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working.  I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution.  I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

A:Ideapad S415 Touch - touch screen stopped working

hi Hersh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

Regards
Solid Cruver

My touch screen stopped working about 2 months ago after an update and it came back then stopped again. I chechd for testing it in UFEI Bios and it is not listed. How can I get the correct bios and there are no drivers to update, the hid-touch screen driver says it fine.  Its been working fine for 2 years. Could the bios been changed?I downloaded the UFei bios that was on your site but it still didn't show up there. I tried a setup in windows but touch screen isn't working to calibrate.
