How dangerous could a hacked robot possibly be?

Q: How dangerous could a hacked robot possibly be?

It seems like a question ripped from the back of a cheap sci-fi novel: What happens when the robots are turned against us?
But researchers at the University of Washington think it's finally time to start paying some serious attention to the question of robot security. Not because they think robots are about to go all Terminator on us, but because the robots can already be used to spy on us and vandalize our homes.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Help, I think that a hacker possibly hacked me. I have ran malwarebytes and super anti-spyware, and I have removed what came up, however, I have been told that hacker's tools may not show up on spyware scanners many times, especially if the hacker knows what they are doing, in my case- the hacker has said that they are experienced in hacking and have hacked others before, so I feel as if what they might have injected my computer with would not show up.
The hacker said that they have been using something called a browser exploitation framework program to hack into people's computers, they said that they can use it to see the people's screens and even their webcams, and apparently it connects them to the persons host. I am afraid that they have done this to my computer, and I'm really freaked out.. I know that something like this would probably not show up on spyware programs, so WHAT DO I DO? Please help..

TeamViewer denies hack after PCs hijacked, PayPal accounts drained

Updated TeamViewer users say their computers were hijacked and bank accounts emptied all while the software company's systems mysteriously fell offline. TeamViewer denies it has been hacked.

In the past 24 hours, we've seen a spike in complaints from people who say their PCs, Macs and servers were taken over via the widely used remote-control tool on their machines. Even users with strong passwords and two-factor authentication enabled on their TeamViewer accounts say they were hit.
It appears miscreants gained control of victims' TeamViewer web accounts, and used those to connect into computers, where they seized web browsers to empty PayPal accounts, access webmail, and order stuff from Amazon and eBay.

My grandmother was using her PC when she clicked on a popup window stating she had a virus and offering help.  Well, after calling the number and allowing someone to access her computer, they told her she had some problems and they could fix it for $200 and get a 5 year waranty.  She installed some software per their direction.
I heard about this a week later and I was very suspicious of this activity so I did a reset of windows - allowing it to wipe all personal files.
At this point I want to ensure there aren't any trojans or rootkits installed.
Please provide guidance on how to proceed.
Thank you in advance,

A:Windows 8.1 possibly hacked

I would try to get the $200 back by disputing the charges to her CC. It is definitely a scam.
As to the steps you took....if doing a 'reset' and wiping all personal files is the same as doing a clean install of Windows, then that would
have removed any malicious files and returned settings to default.

Hello all! I'm posting here because I'm trying to take care of my brother's laptop. On Friday (Christmas Eve) he let me know that he'd gotten what appeared to be a malware and or virus attack which appeared initially as a fake anti virus scan ("AntiVirusDoctor") -generating numerous pop-ups and so forth. This was an older Dell (running Windows XP) of his that he'd had to switch to as his newer one is out of service for the moment-so the usual security software he uses and such had either not been reinstalled or not updated for a very long time with the exception of AviraAntivirus (it had just updated itself an hour or so before hand). Avira's gaurd seemed to have caught about 20-30 files trying to come in -almost all of these were tojan's. He'd started it's scan and had found 3 or 4 infections but I suggested he stop the scan and reboot into safe mode so he could run it from there. Meanwhile I went back to my computer and downloaded the newest version of Malwarebytes and after running his Avira again in safe mode ran a full-system scan on his computer in Malwarebytes. This found around 250 or so more infections. I saved the log files from the two malwarebytes scans I ran (I'd forgotten to ensure that all the files had been selected for removal the first time round & when I saw this immediately rescanned and then removed them). I’ve a decent amount of experience in dealing with computers but not so much ... Read more

How does one get evidence of probable hacking of my surfboard router?? When i open up my router i notice that i have port fowarding to a ip address that is not my own and before i reset router i would like to get proof so that i could have the suspected person prosecuted. My printer as well as my computers appear to be fowarding my work. Help!!!

A:Possibly Hacked Wireless Transmissions???

Hi, and welcome to TSG.

Port forwarding on a router is used to send Internet traffic directed to a particular port number on the Public IP address of the Internet-facing side of your Surfboard router to a given private IP address and port number of a device on your local network. It is not used for sending data from a device on your local network to an IP address on the Internet. It does give someone on the Internet access to a given port on the device on your local network.

If you feel comfortable with doing so, please tell us exactly which settings and their values on your router have convinced you that the router has bene hacked.

Hey everyone. My Facebook and possibly my computer has been hacked and I am unable to fix it. I desperately need help. Yesterday I noticed on Facebook that my account had been reported for sending spam and nudity and I never did either of those things. First, I reformatted my computer and reinstalled from the recovery partition and I then recovered my Facebook account and while it was searching for ownership of the account it showed someone else plus myself which lead me to believe that my account has been hacked. This is not to mention the fact that my Facebook password in LastPass keeps getting changed to a single character. I changed my Facebook password and my LastPass password multiple times but the hacker still has access as I am still noticing my password getting changed in my LassPass. I would greatly appreciate help. I scanned with Malwarebytes and Super Antispyware but it didn't find anything but cookies. I don't understand how this happened. I was just doing research on the possiblity of a new computer by using google. I opened a regular information/review site. Then all of a sudden, my taskbar flashed that I had been infected by some malicious item, I think it was called win32.worm.
I tryed opening up my Malware bites anti-virus software, but the infection prohibited me from doing so. So, I decided to go here at first on my infected computer. Every 10 seconds, it flashed reminders of my infection and for me to activate antivirus software that costed money. I disregarded the request, figuring it would be a scam to get my money. But the scariest part about the whole situation was this loud sudden scream/laugh that I heard through my headphones in the computer. Then a new warning message popped up saying that some of my files had leaked to the internet. In addition to that, I saw my computer list my last name in all caps and my IP address. I was so afraid, that I shut off my computer immediately and unhooked it from my internet source. I'm not sure what is going on with my computer. The only thing that I know is that my main computer does not appear to be safe for usage for a while. I hope no one has got a hole of important information. I also hope the internet that my laptop is connected to is not hazardous in this situation.

Hi there,
It looks not so much like you have been hacked, but the more likely situation is that you have somehow allowed a rogue on your computer, hence where the alerts are coming from. The alerts are more than likely fake, and MBAM will not run do to the rogue blocking access to it. Rogues will do that to you. You have to try a few different tactics. You should first rename the main executable for MBAM to something random such as kfvn28.exe. See if it runs then. If not, then redownload the setup file for it onto another computer known to be clean, then rename it and try installing again. See if that helps.

I also ran Microsoft Security Essentials however it seemed to stop mid scan and acted like it was complete. I am using Windows 7 x64. Well heres what happened...

I left my computer on an returned about 1 hour later and found it turned off, no one had turned it off but it somehow switched off. I turned it back on to find that NONE of my programs worked, and when opening them I get that box that asks me to choose from a list what to open it with.

Also, when I try to open things such as System, Internet Options, Hijack, etc. Pretty much everything that would be vital to fixing the problem, they simply don't open. The only things that work for me are internet explorer and recycle bin pretty much.

I have asked around and I was told to do a repair install, but I do not have my XP disc. I do have 4 recovery discs that I found and they contain files such as Driver, System32, etc.

So my question is, what happened and with the tools I have can it be fixed?

A:computer fried, possibly hacked (trojan)

It sounds like you are missing a bunch of registry keys. I think a repair install would be the best option. See if you can contact the manufacturer of the PC for a retail disk or borrow one from a friend.

Can you run either of these two programs:

EDIT: I have been able to suspend the update process (even though it was frozen anyways and the update manager from control panel does not show me updating anything) I suspended the process trustedinstaller.exe while in the resource manager. I am aware this is usually a Microsoft process but yea I am just suspicious this time.

APOLOGIES if I am in the wrong section.

Hi all,
IN SHORT: 1: window update installer frozen @ 0% & not responding to kill/start commands
2: general system sluggishness & low responsiveness even after scans from malwarebytes/symantech found nothing and I cleaned up with CCleaner

So since I am not sure exactly what is going on + I am new (yes I skimmed the new user area) I thought I would start with the first issue.
Note: specs Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

So the other day I decided to go ahead and let my update installer install a few things (firefox had been sluggish for a few days before this) and I said ok you can install this update for this office service pack and this other security update (don't have actual names as I cannot get into the update manager right now). And now I am here on the site. I would try (another) reset but it hasent helped at all to resolve the issue.

also in the past few days I have experience a few pc crashes to a black screen with one smallish white block in the top left (odd?) this is outside of a system crash I experienced while I was playing mass effect 2 (sort of expected... Read more

I'm looking for an application which works as follows:

I give it the address of a webpage, and it opens up each link on the webpage, and then opens up each link in each opened up page, etc... and so on.... until a pre-specified number of levels deep.

So, in some sense I'm looking for a web-browsing robot.

This way, I can sit back and view all the web-pages without having to injure myself by repeatedly clicking on the links.

Can anyone point me to anything like this? (freeware please).

Robot City is an old '95 game. Nevermind why I'm wasting my time with it..

I can load the game just fine and everything works except for a small glitch in the display. When I move the mouse it leaves a large square trail behind it and distorts the screen turning it black.

The help file mentions this and I am running the game in 640x480 and 256 color just as it says I should.

Any ideas?

Here is the section of the help file that mentions it:

7. Video Display Problems
Robot City requires 256-color mode
Robot City is an 8-bit, 256-color application. In order to view
Robot City, you need a video card which supports at least 256
colors in 640x480 resolution. Robot City requires you run in 256
color mode. Other modes will cause colors to appear incorrectly
and may cause streaking or trails on the screen. If you are not
in 256-color mode, a warning dialog will appear when you launch
Robot City telling you to correct the problem, exit and restart

My skype sounds like a robot any time I use it. I have tried donloading it from the website, using the skype video app already on my computer and it still doesnt work. Everything else auditory works fine, video, music, etc. But anytime I try to skype it sounds like a robot is talking, lags and is very annoying. I know others are having this problem too but I can't find a solution. I know internet connection is usually the problem but I have tried it right next to the router and it still doesn't work. I then use the app on my phone and it works fine but its really frustrating to have to do that when I just bought this computer not even a month ago. Please help!

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio laptop and recently whenever I use YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, stream or play audio/visual content anywhere the sound freezes and makes a robot noise constantly.

I am a dummy with computers and technical stuff but from what I have read on the web regarding this matter it could have been something to do with drivers, too much stuff on the hard drive, flash and/or java needing updating etc..

I have done all of these things (I think) and it still hasn't done anything! Could someone plleeassee advise me what I need to do to sort this out.

Also, my fan is very hot and sounds like a vacuum cleaner (I have tried cleaning it, I think I need a new fan) but could this be affecting anything?

Thanks all

edit: I use latest internet explorer, and sometimes chrome but it is the same on both of the browsers, and besides it happens with spotify which is downloaded?

A:Audio sounds like a robot on everything, please help!!

It does sound like something having to do with your sound card drivers. I would go into the device manager which is in the system tab of the control panel and completely uninstall the sound card and any other related components; reboot; then let windows hopefully re-detect and reinstall the sound card and its associated drivers. If you need more info on anything just ask.

Hi there,Help! I think this rather nasty worm has infected my pc..Sorry I am not a 100% sure that it is w32\robot afl worm?I am running Windows Live Onecare and keeps telling me a 'p2pnetworking.exe' is on my system. I cannot access my regedit - tells me another programme is using it, task manager - can't ctrl, alt delete (i have copied it and renamed it on my desktop to get it working) and finally when i try to install xp windows disc a message informs me it is not recognised by win32?. Previously a toolbar888 was in my system but this (for now anyway) appears to have gone...Something called Kaazar reappears and gets blocked too! Windows live Onecare is also blocking something called 'installer'? The system feels slow and does take a bit to load up. I have ran adaware, spybot, asquare and windows live onecare...I've obviously updated these programmes aswell..They show the system to be clean but i the p2pnetworking reappears in system 32...Your help is also much obviously apperciated and needed! Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums but i figured you guys could answer my question. I just purchased Robot Arena 2 online for 20 bucks, and at first Vista wouldn't execute it. But then I downloaded a patch from the RA website. Now the game loads to the first few intro screens that say ... Infogrames...etc. all the title screens. But when it suppose to be on the menu screen its just black with the cursor showing...I've tried to run it in compatiblity mode but it did not work...

Is this game not compatible with Vista or what? I have Vista Ultimate x64, ATI 3200 HD
*I ordered windows 7 and it should be in before Christmas, would it possibly work on it?

Thanks for any help!

My problem started one night a few months ago, when watching a film from my pc on to my tv, everything was going ok then it started to freeze for a second or two with the audio sounding like a robot then continue playing ok and would start repeating it every so often, so, i tested all my hard drives with DSKCHK, no problems, did a check with seagate disk test all ok, did a memtest all ok, did a graphics stress test all ok, then one night i was going through some audio tracks and the robot sound appeared on them, so i thought that rules out graphics side, i even swapped from motherboard audio to a soundblaster card and did it on both, i deleted MPC to VLC same on both, i even did a windows xp repair, still happening, i even found a asus motherboard test but nothing on that, all drivers up to date, i recorded on my cycle cam which replicates the problem, and can be found here http://vid1177.photobucket.com/albums/x348/andsaw/PC Audio/23090002.mp4 its at the 40second mark, you will have to turn your volume up high as the cams mic is not brilliant, can anyone identify whats going and how i can sort it, any other info required please ask.

A:Audio Freezing Sounding Like A Robot

Hi there

The problem is definitely a software one, because you said you tried another sound card and the problem persists.
The problem is most likely coming from your codecs/filters.

If you have codecs installed, uninstall them and try playing again.
Still not working, uninstall all media players. Re install VLC and try again.

Last ting I can think of is that you download and install XP codec pack.
Just Google it, you will find it.

Hope this helps

I know that there are difference of opinions as far as as using meta tags, but I figure it can't hurt.

A robots.txt file is a short text file that resides in your home directory. Before search engines spider your site, they look into this file to see which files/file types and/or directories they are not allowed to see.

More details at http://buzzycode.com/
The following disallows all search engines and robots from crawling select directories and pages:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /privatedir/
Disallow: /tutorials/blank.htm

If the program had any installation utility then check add/remove programs to see if there's no related entry first.

Try to delete the folder in safe mode : repeatedly press the F8 key when the computer starts and choose safe mode in the menu that will appear.

Else give unlocker a try :

Let's make this short and to-the-point:
- Purchased XPS15 9550 in April 2016
- Upgraded SSD to Samsung 950 Pro 512GB.  RAM is 32GB Crucial DDR4-2666
- Purchased the WD15 and TB15 docks
- I work at a high-tech company, one that designs and works on PCs, laptops, and desktops.  I have a degree in EE.  So I am very very technical.
- OS is Win10 Enterprise x64 with my company's standard IT bundle.
1. TB15 does not work.  USB devices will drop after 5 minutes and DP / HDMI will drop a few minutes later.  Tried all the drivers and BIOS updates.  TBT utility will fail to detect the dock even if connected. Updated TBT FW to NVM16.  It is only good for charging the battery.
2.  WD15 partially works.  USB and DP work >80% of the time, but highly disruptive during the work day.  Decided to use it just for charging as well.
3.  Called Dell TS multiple times on the TBT problems above, and had MB replaced twice.  Problems remain.  I've just given up because their TS people have no clue about they product they are supporting, or just were not given any alternate path / options after replacing the MB twice.  I can attribute problems above to Dell's faulty TBT implementation.
4.  Most annoying is the random, robot-voice, mouse/kb slowdown occurring a multiple times an hour.  I hear it when on Lync calls, watching videos, playing music, etc.  I tri... Read more

I have built a web cam robot that you can control from any pc in the world.

I have equipped it with paintball and laser dome weapons and a red dot aim.

Do you think it would be interesting to have a Internet game with real webcamrobots in a paintball/laserdome battle and be able to hunt real people with the robot?

Scandinavia and north of Europe get a delay/lag around 0.3-0.5 sec.
The rest of the world get a delay/lag around 1-3 sec because they have a satellite link.
Some few people get lucky and don't get a satellite link from USA or Australia and then get a delay/lag around 0.5-1 sec.
I will try to upgrade the web camera robots, so they will be able to compete against real people on a paintball/laserdome arena/field.
