Q: r200 4 of them solid red ink kight on

hi all

this is very weird ive had these on various machines.
one of which i had a bulk ink system on.
now my nightmare begins' as much as a r200 epson is a joly good

now my problem is this' printing fine on one of my r200 also bulk ink system attached then all of a sudden red light on the left panel stays on and wont go out'.
thought no problem just reset it, how wrong was i still the same problem.

to cut a long story short' ive tried all four now and the same problem with all of them red light stays on with a communication error.

could realy do with a epson engineers disk to full reset these
or a preist to give them a quick exorsism lol'''

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just purchased a used, Epson Stylus Photo R200 Printer with no USB cable or software, just the printer. Is there any way I can purchase just the installation CD and USB cable somewhere? Thank you!

Note install the software/driver before hooking up the printer. It's a standard USB cable that should be available at many places.

I've been successfully printing onto DVDs until recently the disc tray had to be forced in. As I examined, I noticed that while laying it flat, the tray rises a little and ends up hitting the rollers...leaving it unable to print. I get messages like "Printer not set correctly" or "Printer jammed." It seems as if it's misaligned: the tray is higher than the rollers and won't go under them.

I need some advice on how to fix this because I'm unable to return it to the store and I can't afford to send it back to Epson. Thanks.

That tends to be the lifecycle of a printer. Components wear out and malfunction. At this point spray some pc cleaning solution in there and see if you can get a few more miles out of it.

I have 2 Epson R200 printers, 1 of which I keep as a spare. I haven't used the printer for about a week and when I switched on the printer went through it's normal cycle but then the 2 red lights flashed and the printer wont go any further. I've tried everything I can including holding down different combinations of the 3 buttons but I still get the same result!
I then got out my spare Epson R200 and I can't even get it to switch on, the carriage seems to be locked as it will not move at all manually, it's just my luck that both printers decide to go awol together. Another problem is that I live in Tenerife so there isn't any service people I can turn to.

Help please,

Don't know about the first one but you might
check the user manual for the new one.
Epson printers usually ship with plastic safety
locks in place that need to be removed before using the printer.

Well, here's my strange problem. I don't see any text coming out when I print
a doc...nozzle check is fine....went to Epson and followed all the steps -
and installed new driver...nothing...the odd thing is that on my Word doc
that I'm using as a test, there is one url on the page and that does print
out, centered, not where it is in the doc...that's the only thing that
prints out, no other text....?? Any suggestions? Thanks. Ken

A:Epson R200 not printing text

well, for those who might be reading...discovered the problem was that the black ink was empty, that's why there was no text...the url was blue. The status monitor showed the black ink half empty (or half full) which was grossly mistaken....

I have an Epson Stylus Photo R200 printer, the problem is as follows...

When powered up, the ink housing moves as normal, no paper is fed, then the ready light goes out, and the ink and paper lights both flash simultaniously, pretty quickly, about 5 times per second. I have cleaned the waste ink pad, and reset the counter to no avail.

I am hoping this may turn out not to be a fatal error as i suspect.

I Recently bought a new acer pc with vista windows and have just put the printer software on, I am wanting to print cd discs. It started out goodish as it was taking the disc holder in but printing on just a quarter of the cd so I reset printer to default, thinking if I’d altered something I shouldn’t have done. Now when I try to print it sends the cd holder out instead of taking it in and both red lights flash, when I remove the tray and close the disc flap the printer prints the disc on paper, it looks like it’s in the correct position as if it was printing the disc.

Can you please help.

Cheers Steve

A:Solved: Epson stylus R200 cd printer

Try removing the printer software entirely and then reboot and reinstall the software. It may not have installed correctly. I had an Epson 200 that worked perfectly but I wanted an all-in-one to maximize desk space. I will assume that you have gone to the Epson website to download the current printer/driver software.

I would like the correct procedure to replace a hard drive in a mirrored array in a Dell R200 Server.
Our current drive is creating an amber warning, of predictive drive failure.
I have an identical hard drive to replace the failing drive, but need to know the process.
Current drive with predictive failure is Drive0,
SAS Controller = 6/IR
Firmware Version = 00:25:47:00:06:22:03:00
Driver Version
If you would need any additional information, let me know.
Thanks, for your time in this matter

A:R200 Replace a Hard Drive in a Mirrored Array

If it's mirrored, you can simply power down and replace the drive with the same type (sounds like SAS) and either the same size drive or a larger one.  When you boot the system, the controller firmware should handle the rebuild behind the scenes -- it may slow the system down until the array is rebuilt but it should be transparent.

I have TWO computers on a "home" network (Work group, NOT Win 7 Homegroup). Computer A is new and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. Computer B is "old" and runs Windows XP Professional. Computer A has two printers attached; Epson Stylus Photo R200 and a Lexmark X3690. Both of these printers work well with Computer A

Computer B has an HP LaserJet printer on the parallel port LPT1. Computer A can print documents to the LaserJet on PC B as well as photos and documents to the Epson and Lexmark printers. Computer B can print to to the laserjet and the Lexmark BUT NOT the Epson.

When I try to "add" the Epson to the printers on PC B there is a message that computer A does not have the correct driver for the printer. The same message occurred when I initially "added" the Lexmark to PC B, but I was able using the CD supplied with the Lexmark to located the 32bit driver and load it onto PC A.

I tried to do the same thing with the Epson but failed to find the driver on the CD. I have tried downloading a 32 bit Epson driver from the Epson site, (using compatability mode) but even after doing that I cannot add the Epson printer to Computer B - the same message that PC-A does not have the correct driver.

I have contacted the Epson customer support team and they have been unable to solve the problem for me. Can any one help please?

A:Epson Photo R200 printer will not work on home network

Hello Marymount. Welcome to the forum.

You can usually install the XP driver for the Epson printer onto the XP PC (Computer B) and then add it as a network printer using "Add a Printer".

But, if you do not need the full functionality of the driver software you can install the printer on Computer B without installing the driver package. You just need to be able to find the .inf driver files inside the folder in the driver package so you can copy them or point XP to them. If it is an All-in-One printer there will be 3 .inf files (printer, fax, scan).

I've done it this way before:
(With the Epson and Computer A on and connected to the LAN, and working on Computer B)
1. Copy Driver files to Computer B (folder), or a USB stick
2. Start > Settings > Printers > Add a Printer
3. Select Network Printers
4. Search for printers > STOP when it finds the Epson> Select the R200 > Next
5. "Windows can't find a driver > OK (Search Manually)
6. Browse to the folder where the driver files are stored > OK
7. Windows finds, connects, and installs all drivers
8. Print a Test Page
9. Finish

Hope that helps.

My computer Portege R200 PPR21E-00K00QEN is saying the usual toshiba stuff : ie

PXE - E61 : media test failure, check cable
PXE - MOF exiting PXE ROM

Insert system disk in drive

Now my model doesnt have a disk drive and i bought it second hand so I haven't got any recovery disks.
I have checked the HDD and its seems connected properly.

Would I need to buy an external disk drive and try and get a System disk or is there anything else I could try.

Any suggestions or advice?

A:Portege R200 - PXE - E61: media test failure - Insert system disk

The PXE - E61 : media test failure, check cable message appears because the notebook tried to boot from LAN.
Because it could not boot from HDD nor from another source like CD/DVD drive.
Mostly this happens because of faulty HDD.

So how to fix?

I think first of all you need to replace HDD.

Since the Portege R200 does not support internal CD/DVD drive, you would need to install the system using bootable USB flash memory stick or you would need to purchase an external USB CD-ROM drive which would be compatible with Prot?g? R200

I am looking for a new laptop. I currently have a X121e and recall it being extremely easy to configure on Lenovo's site. So I decided to look at the X270. However, having had great difficulty even starting to configure it (apparently, Lenovo does not favour Firefox any longer), I'm currently having trouble understanding the choices. The first is the choice between PCIe and SATA PointingDevice. Following some discussion, I gather this has nothing to do with any kind of pointing device, but affects my HDD/SSD choices. OK, so let's see what the PCIe choices give me. I get 5 'first hard drive' options. (Nothing I do gets me a 'second hard drive' option, so not sure about this. Or rather, I almost understand this now I've read the platform specification, the user manual, the hardware maintenance manual and various posts on Reddit. Lenovo do like to make buying a challenge!) Now, however, I've reached the end of my google-fu. Intel 256 GB Solid State Drive OPAL2.0 PCIe-NVMe256 GB Solid State Drive PCIe-NVMe OPAL2.0 - CapableIntel 512 GB Solid State Drive OPAL2.0 PCIe-NVMe512 GB Solid State Drive, PCIe-NVMe OPAL2.01 TB Solid State Drive OPAL2.0 PCIe-NVMeI understand the difference beween 1/2 and 3/4 and 5 is obviously size. One of this days i will buy my first solid state drive.
So i need an expert advice, especially from someone who already has ssd.
First : Most of all worries me the compatibility issue with my GA-X38-DS4 motherboard,i don't want to throw the money for nothing. And i didn't found anything in the web about this.
Second: IF IS NOT THERE ANY COMPATIBILITY ISSUE!! Then....Which one is better, faster?
A) Corsair Force Series F80A - solid state drive - 80 GB - SATA-300
B) OCZ Agility 2 Series - Solid state drive - 80 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300
C) OCZ Vertex 2 Series - Solid state drive - 80 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300

A:My first solid state.

As long as you have SATA ports on your motherboard, SSD drives will work.

Faster is often a result of which benchmark you used. The biggest bang for the buck with any SSD is it's 0.1ms access times to files anywhere on the drive. You will get that from any of the SSD's that you pick. Your read/write speeds may be marginally better on one drive versus another, but unless you are continously reading and writing large files...it probably won't be noticeable in day-to-day computer use.

Personally, I think OCZ has a great reputation and the Vertex 2 line has been solid. I would pick that one if it were me.

Does anyone in here still use SE v12 or at least HAVE used it and might be able to offer up some assitance with it.
I have a 3ghz/1gb/matrox parhelia128 computer that runs it great for the most part, whenever i go to rotate the 3d model, after say 20 seconds of rotating it sorta just freezes for a second or 4
sometimes for longer.
our support for SE is nonexistant and the phone service is giving me the run around, so getting an update is just about short of impossible. how is v16?

Is it backward compatible? If i use v12 to make something, and have someone using 16 open it, would it cause problems for the document?

A:Solid Edge V12

I'm sorry I can't help you with your problem, but I found this thread through Google, and I'd like to ask a question about a problem of my own, which is a bit similar to yours...
I just started at Helsinki University of Technology and I have a machine design course where we use Solid Edge v15... The university has an academic license for it and they are giving it for the students to borrow home so they don't have to use campus computers to do their works for that course. I borrowed it, of course, but it says it won't install, cause the program is for win2000 or XP only... I have windows 98...
Does anyone know what is the latest version of SE that supports windows 98?
And if so, I repeat the question of the previous poster: Does v15 have backward compatibility? We're not using very advanced features, so I think I might be able to do my work with an older version...

Had a major malfunction with my laptop over the weekend and had to replace the harddrive.. lost a few things but I had backups on an external hdd thankfully. One thing I noticed during the whole situation was that my system restore points had been deleted somehow, I researched and found that Defraggler deletes them sometimes, but who knows it could have been something else.

I'm looking for a good defrag program that won't do that.. I noticed Auslogics Disk Defrag in the stickied topics up top but just wanted to ask and make sure it doesn't do anything like that. Also I want a really good backup program. I was using the default backup thing on Vista (set to backup once a week) but when I check my external hdd, there are backups from last year hogging up space..

If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it

A:Looking for 2 solid programs

I use Auslogics and am 100% happy with its performance. You can analyze your HD first to see if a defrag is necessary. Its does a better job than the Vista program included as defrag with the OS.
If you want awesome free software to back up, I use Macrium Relfect, it is awesome

Ive been looking at PC parts for about a year now, so I know at this point about which parts (mostly CPUS and GPUS) are which and when the next gens come out (like how piledriver comes next month presumeably)
But I cant justify $650 without being rather certain of myself.
so here is the parts list:
Rosewill challenger U3
Crucial 8 GB DDR3 1600 Dual channel 240 pin
Cooler Master hyper 212 EVO
Samsung Spinpoint F4 7200 RPM 320 GB (its cheap right now, althought seagate=meh hopefully I wont have bad luck)
Sapphire 2GB 7850 100355L
Rosewill green series 630W RG630-S12 (will update if/when I crossfire later on)
MSI 970A-G46 (chipset 970, has x16 and x8 in xfire mode)
some cheap wireless thing already got.

I already have all peripherals.
total price is $665 with shipping.

so yea, thats about it.

A:Solid build?

Looks good, but on a bit of a prejudiced note, you may want to look at getting a different power supply, since Rosewill don't have the greatest track record when it comes to PSUs. Also that case is a nightmare to try get clean, so If you don't want the amazon jungle inside your case I highly suggest you take a look at some of Antec or Coolermaster's budget cases.
apart from that, the rest looks good to me.

Hey All,

I am building a computer in the next week that the customer wants a SSD 2.5" drive. I've never built a PC with an SSD in it. Couple of questions

Will the standard 2.5" drive bay in a case hold the drive alright?

Will the drive be susceptible to electro shock and data loss in a power failure or hard reset?

Does the SSD need to be insulated in the case any particular way?

Does the SSD need specific proprietary power or SATA cables to interface with a modern motherboard?

A:Solid State Drive

Connections and Size will very on which drive you get, but traditionally it will fit in a 2.5 bay and can support a sata connection. Nothing extra is needed. It shouldn't be any more susceptible to data loss during power failures then normal drives (of course like normal drives, you may lose data if you are writting to it during said power loss).

For more details see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive

What is a SSD?, What are the pros and cons to using it?, How do you use it?, Is it reccomended?, what performance difference does it give?, and finally, could you make a computer with weak processor/graphics card and everything run very fast and play games very well if you have lots of them in one pc?

Could someone explain in laymens terms? For me and so I can explain to other people as I know this is a reasonably new technology and is suposedly 'the future'?

A:Solid State Drives

Solid State Drives are big RAM disks. No moving parts like platters to break. Upside - very fast. Down side - very expensive. And some write-rewrite issues. Think bleeding edge.

hi all
i am thinking of using a solid state drive for the operating system and would be grateful for any advice can i keep the drive i have now with win 7 home premium, and install another windows 7 (like ultimate): on the solid state drive??

A:Solid state drives

I don't think you can have two instances of Windows using the same license key, even on the same machine (unless you clone them, but then the drives should be identical). So basically you'll have to buy another copy of Windows. Other than that, SSD will make your machine way faster. the only catch is the limited number of write cycles, so I would follow the by now standard advice of moving your cache and temp folders to a RAM disk.

A:Which Solid State drive is best?

Personally, I would go with the bigger 64GB, to allow for some growth.

There are a few things you need to know, about Solid State Drives, before you upgrade your computer/laptop/netbook to this newest technology.

1. Do you have a SATA or IDE Controller?

Most drives are designed for SATA, though there are some IDE (aka: ATA and PATA) drives available also. To know which one you need, look inside your computer, or check out the specs/details of your laptop/netbook.
If you have a computer, open the case and locate your hard drive. Look at the wires on the back of your hard drive.

2. Internal vs. External
External drives are mostly for portable data, like a USB flash drive, so an internal drive is the best option for an SSD drive, so it can make your Operating System (Windows, Mac OSX, Linux) faster and more responsive.

3. Capacity
The most common sizes are 32, 64, 128 and 256 Gigabytes (GB). The operating system will use about 10 GB of space, so make sure you leave enough free space for your applications, games, files and so on. I would recommend getting a minimum of 64 GB, and up to 128GB, unless you have a big budget.

A:What you should know, before you buy a Solid State Driv

64GB sounds about right to me, for the OS and programs, with a nice Caviar Black for your data.

Once or twice a week my Dell 1100 Dimension XP Pro SP3 machine will free solid, and Cntr-Alt-Delete does nothing, the mouse does nothing. The screen just shows what I was working on when it froze.

The interesting thing, is the hard disk light is on solid. I have to unplug the computer to reboot it.

I ran spinrite on the drive, but found no problems.

I see my event log after the crash shows:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x806f0753, 0xb4df5878, 0x00000000).

I had read online here that:

A bugcheck of 0x0000008e combined with the first parameter of 0xc0000005 indicates that a driver attempted to access an area of memory that it should not have.

I'll attach a zip file named Archive.zip with the contents of my \windows\minidump\ and msinfo32.nfo file

In case anyone knows how to read them and tell me if they see anything out of the ordinary.

I was wondering, with 400 Dolars to spend on HDs, which one do i choose?
I will never use more than 500 GB, which i think is too much.
And i wanted a fast drive, like an SSD.
But i heard that SSDs have a short-life, and they're speed are decreased according to its age.

So, what would be better?
Buy 4x 250 GB 7200 RPM HDs and make Raid 4

Or 1x 128 SSD and a 500 GB for storage

A:Solid State Drive

Better that you should read these articles first:

Hello there everyone, (first post yay!)

About a month ago my solid state hard drive suddenly failed after 2 years of use, fortunately it was still under warranty so I was able to get a replacement, at the time I figured it just had a fault and eventually died. It's worth noting that prior to it bricking completely some applications were running slow and windows was starting to hang.

So I've had my new SSD, (same brand, model etc.) for a month now and it's just died, and again the same symptoms occurred, windows hanging and applications slowing down. I attempted to run disk checks and other such programs but they all failed. I don't believe I've done anything to break it so I'm here. What could cause this to happen?

The SSD is a G.Skill Falcon II 128GB, I've attached my dxdiag if that can provide any other information to assist in anything.

If theres anything else I can add let me know, I look forward to any insight.

A:Solid State died... Again.

Using "tools" intended for mechanical drives is not wise for SSD's.

What do you use the drive for? Have you turned off defrag and other mechanical drive maintenance tools?
