I have a Canon XTi and I was going to view some of the pictures I have taken over the years on my tv by putting them back on my cf card and running a slide show with the camera. The pics I have on my computer hard drive I can view on the tv. The pics that I keep on my portable hard drives I can not view, a big yellow question mark appears. All the pics I take are jpegs.
Read other answersI recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I'm having a family reunion on Saturday at which there will be a screen for a slideshow of photos. We have a folder of around 1500 pictures which we want shown on the night. I tried windows movie maker, spent hours arranging the photos so that they were in no particular order and in the end it couldn't deal with the large file size. I have also tried smilebox but it won't let me import the photos en masse and I can't be bothered individually clicking 'add' on them all.
Basically I want a simple software that will allow me to add all 1500 photos at once and will jumble them up for me so that they're not in alphabetical order (the way shuffle would work on an ipod, no picture would be shown twice). Any suggestions welcome asap. Thanks
I'd use the freeware Irfanview and have it make a slide show.
I have a DVD burner (DVD-RW), and I have lots of pictures that I wanted to put in a slide show and burn it in a DVD. What would be the software/s that I need to put it in a slide show and burn it in DVD so I can play it on TV (with a regular DVD player)? Thanx for any help...
No end of people send me some fantastic slide shows - Venice carnival, ice city, animals, winter, Hawaii, deserts and more.
Perfetc images and often at least twenty pictures. No problem receiving or sending on.
Why then do I have so many picture files rejected when trying to send, message saying file too large?
Help please.
Am I better loading them onto one of these apparently free picture sites for people to access or am I just missing some easy way of resizing files/

Can anyone recommend any software for putting photo's on to CD so they can be played on a DVD player?

I'm making webpages for my niece and her newborn. She has given me 5 pictures of herself in varying stages of her pregnancy. What is the best way to make it fun to view them? A slideshow? If you have an idea could you please include the code or a page to get one from. I'd like to make it maybe fade from one pic to the next. She wants family and friends out of state to see how her pregnancy belly grew. Cute idea. Take care .angel
Can anynone recommend a reasonably priced or free Slide Show maker with sound? I'm not having any luck with MS Powerpoint.
I have been tasked with creating a slideshow combined with video that can be played on a DVD. I have all the necessary hardware. So far i have adobe photoshop 7.0 and premiere pro 2.0. The software is legit and was given to me by my relatively well off relatives .
I have a TON of photos to scan and i would like whatever software there is to automatically crop the photo's. I know i can manually crop the photo's with photoshop but that would take too much time as i have been only given 2 weeks to complete this project. IS there software that will do this and what do you all recommend. I will also be laying music tracks to run with the slideshow so if there is something that will do both without requiring me to get a huge book to learn how to use it(like photoshop does) that would be ideal.
If what i'm asking just isn't possible don't hesitate to say so. Any suggestions on software would be great. The scanner i am using is a canon multipass 390. Money is not an issue here. I have been told to purchase whatever i need software wise and i will be reimbursed for it.
Hello,
My OS is XP Pro. I have my screen set to slide show as the screen saver. Is there any way to freeze the photo on my screen and source the file info. I get to see photos I haven't seen in years and then want an easy way to locate the file instead of spending a lot of time searching.
Thanks,
Jeff B.

When you go into Display Properties and hit the Screensaver tab click on settings. There should be a tick box that when clicked will give the option to 'Show File Names'. Hey presto, the picture source path will be shown in top left corner of your picture. If you set the change time to 6 seconds it shouldn't be too hard to quickly note the origin and file name...
Alternatively, why not put all your pics into one folder and then simply set a set slide show in motion... you can freeze that at will.
I have a Nikon coolpix 3100 which I have had for a while but have only recently got round to installing the Nikon software that comes with. It does a very nice slideshow when the memory card is plugged in but I can't seem to get it to work with photos that have been saved onto the computer. Is this the way it is supposed to be? I do have Irfanview so it is not an enormous problem but I was just wondering. I have windows 98SE.
XP has provision to make a slide show
(a) Is there a way to change the rate the images change.
(b) Is it possible to imbed them in a personal website without using html.
I know there are various slide show creating software programs out there, but the other day, I was shown a slide show created with the software that comes with Apple Macs. The images zoomed in slightly, and it looked really professional. I didn't get the name of the program, but if anyone could tell me, or advice on a program that would do this on a Windows OS, it would be appreciated.
Try Pro Show Gold . It's for making video, to get a zooming affect you would have to use video.
I'm looking for a pgm to make a slide show that uses JPEG images, and will then save the slide show as a JPEG.
I've got irfanview to re-size/change format of images, and unfreez that will create a slide show, but it only works with GIF images, and when the slide show is created, it saves as GIF.
Any suggestions?

Hi Everyone, Hope someone out there can help. My O/S is XP Home and I am burning Digital Still Images to CD (TDK CD/RW) using Photodex Proshow Gold to create a vcd. This I manage to do ok and they play back on my computer with no problems, but when inserted in my Panasonic E30 standalone player/recorder all I get is the Proshow Logo and no images appear even the disc continues to revolve, the E30 is VCD compliant and PBC is enabled.
My E30 is connected to a Sony TV through a SKY receiver with scart leads.
I have tried other cd`s both CD/R and CD/RW with the same result. Could some more knowledgable person please solve this problem for me.

Hi Everyone,
I first posted this thread in the MAC O/S section and didn't get a response. So I thought maybe if I moved it to here someone might be able to help me. Here it is.
Hello
I created a slide show on my computer using WinMe. I gave it to a friend who has a MAC
computer. This is a self running slide show I created with Roxio Easy CD Creator Platinum. It
runs perfect on WinMe but on his MAC it doesn't. He can view the pictures one at a time by
double clicking. But I would like to get the slide show to run automatically. Any help here
would be appreciated.
Thanks
Sometimes I get the message you see below when I try to open a PPS sent in email.
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in folder options control panel".
Would you have a clue about this?
XP sp2.
When I go into flickr I have noticed my slide show does not execute, can anyone explain why it woud not activate. I sometimes receive messages that I need to upgrade to 9.x to install latest ver. It has been working all along until I tried to activate 9.x version. Any ideas?
I have set a slide show as my desktop background using pictures from a personal folder i.e. not the default pictures in Windows. This works ok but it has to be reselected each time I reboot my computer and log on i.e. I lose all my personal settings.
Why does that happen? Is there any way I can work around this?
Make sure that you save the "Theme" after selection of slideshow.

Ok i dont know where to put this, but is there any software that i can use to make a picture slide show on a CD that will play in my Dvd player without actually having a Dvd Burner
Check out This Link. It should allow you to burn them to a VCD, which should play back on most modern DVD players.

Why is it even though I've unlocked protected features, and got the Taskbar, I'm unable to create the slide show, as there is no menu to set it up.
Hello wysiwyg.
Perhaps it was inadvertently removed from the version you installed.

Hi, i am a complete novice with pc's (please bear with me) and would appreciate any help, not sure if this is the right place to ask?
I have recently had strange pixilated images mixed in with our photos when playing music and selecting slide show, our photos appear along with random images, they are not coming from MY PICTURES folder as i have right clicked when the odd pic appears and they are coming from random folders that i can't find.
I thought the strange graphics were coming from itunes or Tom Tom so i have uninstalled them both...but the images keep coming.
How do i stop media center looking and producing these annoying images, any idea's anyone?
I am running 32bit Vista
Thanks in advance

Hi have not been on forum recently. I am not sure if this is the correct forum but would appreciate any direction on where to post. I am looking for a hopefully free slide show program to make slide shows for funerals. I want it simple as not the smartest peg. I want to take approximately 50 pictures, load them into a program, add music if possible, have a 10 second delay between pictures. As simple as possible. A friend used pay Adobe but sounded complicated to me. I have a brother on life support and all of my relatives are like me in the twilight of there lives. Everyone is looking to me to prepare these shows as the funeral homes are very expensive. I looked thru the all the programs listed which was great but could not find one specific for what I wanted. Again any assistance or comments would be sincerely appreciated.
This is what i use WPS Suite https://www.wps.com/
OR
OpenOffice https://www.openoffice.org/
OR
Libre Office https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-still/
ALL three are free to use for ever with the option to pay, WPS looks more like the MS Office.
I can't find the "run as slideshow" under tools. Need help please. Thanks in advance
I would like to make and burn a slideshow of my Chinese vacation but I can't figure how to do it using Photoshop CS2. I tied it using Elements but it produced very fuzzy photos on my CD. Any help? I also would like to add music to the back gound.
I recently made a PowerPoint slide show for my sons wedding reception and burned it to a DVD. When I played it in my DVD player, all I got was the music on the TV with no video. How can I view the slide show on my TV and get both audio and video?
Hmmmmm...not too sure, but I know there is software out there that can help.
You see. This is what I found out:
.."With some compromise in quality, distribute presentation videos on a DVD that you can playback on a PC as well as on a standard DVD player. Typically, the display resolution of a PC is 800 x 600 pixels, 1024 x 768 pixels or higher. On the other hand, a standard DVD video has 720 x 480 pixels (NTSC) or 720 x 576 pixels (PAL) resolution. Hence, when making presentation videos, Video Edit Magic will resize a video at 800 x 600 pixels (or 1024 x 768 pixels) to 720 x 480 pixels (or 720 x 576 pixels). As expected, you will experience an inherent loss in video quality. The important thing to notice here is that Video Edit Magic resizes a 1024 x 768 pixels screen video to a 720 x 480 pixels for DVD. You will loose more video quality than when you resize an 800 x 600 pixels video to 720 x 480 pixels. For the least loss in quality, make sure that you keep your display resolution to 800 x 600 pixels or lower when My Screen Recorder is recording your PowerPoint presentation. A standard VCD video is 320 x 240 pixels (NTSC) or 352 x 288 pixels (PAL). In this case, the resizing involved is so high that you will almost loose the entire video quality. Hence, it is not advisable to distribute screen recordings on a VCD. " Burned PP slideshow on a DVD for a friend for her birthday and didn't look great at all. Well just something to look into.

My Friend, for the first time, asked me a favor.. It was to create a slideshow that can be presented to her friend on her B'day.. I decided to go upon Windows Live Movie Maker because i had a few slideshows which went popular with the simple and attractive animations..
So, I would like to make it way better than the one i created in Window's Live Movie Maker. My Questions are:
1. Can Any one of you guys suggest a good Video Editing or Slideshow Creation Software?
2. Will I Get a High Definition Video Output after the processing of the Video?
3. Can you suggest a good Soundtrack for the Video? ( Between 3 Minutes and 4 Minutes, Melodious, A Track that can Represent an old memory Together etc.)
I Would be really Glad If Any one of you could help me on this topic, Because it is kinda Important for me.. This might Help me in a lotta ways..
Thank You

Well, I personally have been asked to do this before by a teacher friend of mine. I used PowerPoint 2010 for that and used the metro design with the pictures. I just made a mosaic on each slide, used a fade in animation on each photo and staggered the timing, then had a blank black slide fade in and did it again. I used certain transition animations based on the tempo of the song at that particular timing. It was intense! The song I used was by Grouplove, Tongue Tied. I find it's a fantastic song to go with an emotional, memory packed presentation. It's about 3 and half minutes long. Another song that can be used is Spun by Grouplove too, but I'd go with Tongue Tide as you can cry and sing along with it and it's really happy!
I'd recommend PowerPoint for this, especially 2013, as you can save the presentation in not only in a .wmv video file but publish it onto a CD. Pretty handy! You won't get quality loss either.
Okay, so I have accomplished creating slide shows using Nero Express. I prettied the photos up using paint shop, but when I played the dvd the photos where not centred. they were marginally to the left of the screen....any ideas how i can resolve this issue? Maybe my video options or something is set incorrectly.
Anybody.......?
I have tried to re-do the entire DVD from scratch and still the images are offset when the DVD is played. There must be a setting or something somewhere in the Nero 6 program that corrects this ?
Does anyone know how to change the duration of slides that are shown when viewing photo's
from "My Pictures" using the slide show prompt? The default timing is 5 seconds per slide.
Windows XP . - Flyingjak
Try this: Go to your Display control panel, then the Screen Saver tab. Select My Pictures Slideshow from the list, and click on Settings. I'm not sure if that affects the slideshow or just the screensaver, but I'd guess it's the same.

In Powerpoint 2003 you can choose to not have the really lame black slide at the end of your show that says "End of Show, click to Exit".
However, when you play your show using the Powerpoint Viewer 2003 the "End of Show" slide still pops up.
Anyone know how to get rid of it, or write a macro that auto ends the show before the slide has a chance to play?
why don't you just include your own slide at the end of the show, either blank, or with a picture on it, that serves as a reminder to the speaker that it's the end of that presentation. As long as there's no timed transition on that slide it will just sit there indefinitely. I run enormous slide shows for international conferences and I just insert what we call a 'holding slide' at the very front, inbetween individual presentations, and at the end. It's usually a logo of the product/project of the meeting, photoshop'd on a nice textured background.
I cannot use slide show in my flickr anymore. Can you help me retrieve it so I can use once again?
Hi all, been a while.
I'm looking for a software program to produce a top quality slide show on disc (either rom or dvd) which has the ability to not only to play music in the back ground but I need to be able to sync the display of the pics to certian parts of the music track.
Thanks Guys
Jack
Me too. Looking for the best DVD authoring software available. I've read dozens of reviews about DVD slide show making software. Different reviewers claim different programs are best. I want music sync, transitions galore, ability to add my own audio, pan & zoom effects and a program that doesn't take a computer genius to figure out how to use.To repeat, a most important element is automatic sync of music with length of slide show.Is anyone using this type of software. What do you like and dislike about your particular application?thanks
Read other 1 answersI have been given a CD with lots of photos of a family function. I'm told I should be able to look at them with a slide show. Can anyone please tell me how to do it. I have windows98SE and I also have photoshop. So far I have only managed rather laboriously to open the files one at a time.Thank You.
I'm 99% sure that Windows 98 doesn't have a built-in slide show. The easiest thing to do is open the pics on a different computer. Adobe PS doesn't do slide shows, unfortunately. Good luck!
Hi,
I am looking for a simple program which I can use to produce a 3 or 4 picture slide show which I can than copy and paste the code onto a webpage

Hi, This may seem such a silly question and I feel really stupid for asking but I cannot seem to get my slide show to work in explorer. I am using Windows XP Pro. It was there to start with but I clicked on something to cancel this feature but I now cannot get it back. I have used the help in Explorer to no avail.
Any ideas, please?
MS Edge having issues with slideshow at the USA Today website. The slideshow of 90 pics from the World Cup, on the bottom of the page, is slow and CPU utilization fluctuate between 60 - 80%. The system becomes sluggish, until Edge is closed, here's a capture of the page with resource utilization:
The W10 version is 10162, running in VMware player.
The W7 host system accessing the same slideshow with IE11 has no problem with the slideshow. The CPU utilization increases by 20-30%, but the system does not get sluggish and I can't click fast enough to slow down the slideshow.
Can anyone else test the slideshow with Edge to see if it's the Edge browser, or my system? TIA...
Oops, wrong forum... Mods, please delete this thread, 10Q...
Read other 1 answersI would like to purchase a really great slide show program. The most important features would be:
1) Easy to use, and capable of making "instant" shows if necessary (that is, you dump folders of images, and it automatically provides transitions, etc.)
2) Has really interesting effects, transitions, etc.
3) Makes it easy to sort and view images so that they can easily be located and placed where you wish.
4) Can easily create "title" slides that you can slip in appropriate places
5) Under $100
I appreciate any suggestions!
Hi Guys,
I would so much appreciate it, if someone could explain to me how get my slides arranged in an alphabetical order.
I have got series of song lyrics which i want to present to an audience but i need to arrange them in alphabetical order for ease of reference rather than the numerical order which is the default.
Thanks for your anticipated responses
The only way I can think of is open the "Slide Sorter" and drag them in the order that you want.
There is NO sort slide command, that I know of.
