How do I PREVENT Twitter from remembering me?

Q: How do I PREVENT Twitter from remembering me?

Hello Friends,

I have installed DEEP FREEZE on my computer so that every time I "restart"....my computer is fresh and
new. I reboot every morning.

The ONLY online account I have that acts like I was just there AFTER I reboot.....is TWITTER.

For some reason TWITTER (even without ticking the "Remember Me" box) has my sign-in Name in
the User field when I go to sign in. It's VERY creepy and I don't like it.

How can I prevent TWITTER from remembering me??? I want a completely new & fresh sign-in every
time.

Thanks

Pisces Mama

Preferred Solution: How do I PREVENT Twitter from remembering me?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: How do I PREVENT Twitter from remembering me?

If you are using Deep Freeze, then the web site is doing the 'remembering'. Conceivably it can record your ip address and associate it to your sign in name.

All my Facebook friends have been removed from the People app but the Twitter contacts still appear there.
There is no Delete option. How do I remove them?

Twitter Is Inviting Users to Become ?Twitter Insiders? to Shape Its Direction

Twitter has retained a research firm to support a new program called Twitter Insiders, Motherboard learned earlier today, which is described as an ?exclusive community? where these select users will play a ?leading role in making the platform better for brands.?

I received an invitation to join this secret society earlier today, after noticing a tweet in my personal timeline asking if I was interested. Of course I said yes.

Twitter pitches Insiders as being a community where you?re able to share ?thought-provoking discussions with like-minded people? and ?debate? how you use Twitter services like Periscope, Vine, & Moments,? the curated tweets featured that launched in October 2015.

The thing that drives me nuts about the metro apps is that most of them offer less functionality than a regular ol desktop app.
Case in point-
On the desktop twitter app if I copy a link and want to @ people as soon as I type the first couple letters it gives me suggestions. Not with the metro app.
It seems like they're all just stripped down versions of more powerful desktop apps. So why would anyone want less functionality?

I'm trying to make sense of it.

A:Metro Twitter App Vs Desktop Twitter App

I haven't tried the metro twitter app, I have used the desktop twitter app all the times. I think it very convenient for me.

A:re-remembering

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Passwords tab > View Saved Passwords button > Passwords Never Saved tab, and remove the site from the list. Then go to the site and when the options box appears, save the password for this site.

You might need to tick the Remember Passwords box under the Passwords tab for this feature to work.

Whenever I would go to a site and type in my user name and a new pin, xp would prompt me to remember the pin, so that if I clicked and my user name came up, my pin would automatically be entered.

Now, when I go to Fidelity Investments, I click, but no user name comes up. When I manually enter, no reminder to save the pin comes up either.

When I go to other sites and click, my user name and pin come up.

I don't know if it is a Fidelity site thing, or if I need to do something else.

I did check "autocomplete" in the "content" tab of tools in ie6. and everything is checked.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Good Day All -

I recently upgraded to IE 9, however due to compatibility with some web programs for work I had to roll back to IE 8. I also encountered a profile issue and I lost all my saved username and passwords in IE. My IE 8 is now not asking to save usernames and passwords and it had in the past. I have searched the internet and everyone says make sure it is set up to remember username and passwords... by going to Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete> Settings. I have all the boxed checked. I have triple checked it. I looked in the IntelliForms in the registry as another website suggested and nothing is there.

Is there to really make sure that when I got to places like facebook, I'm already logged in and I don't have to retype anything?

Greetings BC,

This problem is happening in Chrome. At my school, you have to log in to use the internet. When I connect using the wireless my log in credentials are saved and all I have to do is click log in. However, when using the wired connection (much faster) it does not remember my log in details. I believe it used to but one time a friend logged in with theirs for some reason and now it doesn't remember them. Typing this in every time I want to get on the internet is pretty annoying and I would like to have it remember my log in details.

Picture if you want: http://i.imgur.com/QQjJa.png

I tried deleting the saved password in Chrome for the URL I get when logging in to wired but it didn't remember it after I logged in again.

Could someone please let me know how I can get Chrome to remember the log in details?

Thanks,
Kyle

Blue, here is your previous topic about this issuehttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic312303.htmlHere is how to find any of your previous posts:Click on your name next to Logged in as: on the left side of the page, just under BleepingComputer.comYour profile will open. Click the drop-down arrow next to Options (left side of page) and choose either Find member's posts or Find Member's Topics. Scroll through the list until you find what you are looking for.In your case, you won't have a lot of pages to look through. If you have several pages of posts or topics, and don't want to wade through the them all click on Search at the top right of the BC page. This is useful if you don't know the date range of when you posted, but you do remember a few keywords from the post. Click on More Search Options. When the search page opens, type in a keyword from the post you made, then enter your name in Filter by Member Name (optional). Scroll down and click Perform the search.Example: I went to Search options, typed in the keyword passwords, then your name. The search brought up your post here and your previous post.

In Internet Explorer, I am having a problem. My first step was to contact Microsoft, but they said I would have to talk to you as it was an OEM version. In IE, the box for a username and password pops up. I fill in the info, and check the box to remember it. However, the next time I go back, the fields are blank. This happens every time, for all sites. I have tried everything I can think of, including reseting all default settings, etc. Thank you.

A:IE NOT remembering passwords

So Microsoft gave you the address of this site to get help? Is that true?

Anyway, are you talking about IE not remembering the userid and password when you first connect to the net via your dialup connection or are you talking about userids and passwords when you go to certain webpages?

If your talking about it not remembering the userid and password when you first connect to the net via your dialup connection then do this,

Start>Find>Files, key in *.pwl and press enter. You should see one that has the username for your PC. Right click on it and select Rename. Now rename it .old, for example, bhesson.pwl would be renamed to bhesson.old

Now click on Start>Shutdown>Restart. When the Windows logon box appear at startup leave the password box blank and click on OK. It's important that you click on OK and not on Cancel.

Now see if IE remembers the userid and password. You may need to key it in the first time but after that subsequent conections should remember it.

If your talking about userids and passwords when you go to certain webpages then do this, Start>Settings>CP>InternetOptions>Content>AutoComplete. Make sure userids and passwords are selected.

I just started seeing an issue with my external drives connected to my laptop running Win7 Home Premium x64. I have 2 external drives connected via USB to my laptop. In the past, when I unplugged the drives, and later reconnected them, the previously assigned drive letters (X: and Y: ) were again properly assigned to the two external drives. Lately, when I reconnect the USB drives, they get assigned the next drive letters in sequence (E: and F:, respectively). What is causing this behavior and how can I force them to remember their old "assigned" letter? I assigned the drive letters using the manage computer, disk management, change drive letter process. I always use the "safely remove hardware and eject media" feature prior to unplugging the drives... and I have not changed any behavior on my part.

Both stay connected to the same powered USB hub... rather than messing with the drives individually, I just use the remove hardware applet and then unplug the hub. I always use the same USB port for the hub, and the drive themselves stay connected to the hub... BTW, this used to work perfectly under both XP and Win7 ... until recently...

A:Folders Not Remembering View

Hello Johny,

It sounds like you are in a library. If so, then this is normal since all included folders in a library share the same folder view.

To have separate folder views per folder, you would need to open the folder at it's actual say "C:\Users\(user-name)\Documents" location instead of in the Documents library.

Hope this helps,

What often happens is that I am busy entering data into a textbox and then need to switch to a different screen(Alt+tab) to obtain the data I need.

However when I switch the screen back to excel (and the userform) the cursor is no longer positioned in the text box where I left off (it is nowhere on the screen and I have to click in the text box again to be able to carry on typing).

Is there anyway that I can ensure that the cursor remains at the same spot even if I move away form the screen and then return later?

I have the latest version of Firefox on Windows 10,

Is there anyway that I can force Facebook to not remember my email login? I have to sign out of Facebook every time. If I do not sign out and close the browser, my email is still waiting for me in the "Email or Phone" field. What I want to be able to do is be forced to type in my login email and password every time that I visit Facebook. When I close the browser, I want to see a blank "Email or Phone" and "Password" form field when I come back to the page for security reasons:

1.) I have tried saying "Never remember" this log in when clearing the Facebook website from the list of Firefox's stored websites.

2.) I have tried going through my stored sites and using the Block command in Firefox to prevent any automated login data from showing.

3.) I DO NOT WANT to clear all my cookies and cache. I am happy with remembering log in information for other sites I have saved, just Facebook's form fields I want to enter my email and password manually every time.

Is there anyway to do this? Or do I have to log out of Facebook every time or use Private Browsing if I really want both the email and password to be manually entered each time?

Hi All

I've a minor problem with one of my DVD drives and was hoping that someone might know of a solution. My computer runs off Windows XP Home Edition. I have 2 DVD drives in my computer, (there are also 2 hard drives in the tower) a NEC one and a Pioneer one. In most respects, these two drives work fine independently of, and in conjunction with each other, I've come across no problems so far anyway. I am afraid I can't say how the slave/master relationship works as I've no idea, if it's necessary to know to solve this problem, please let me know how I find out and I'll be happy to provide the info. The only niggling problem is as follows:

My Pioneer drive is the newer, quicker of the two drives, and I use this most of the time, to watch DVDs, play games etc etc. Often I leave a disc in this drive when I shut down my machine. When I turn on my machine again and put another disc in this drive, it still displays the previous disc's contents when I go into explore, and by going to start, run and entering the drive details, it won't start it either. I have to 'wipe' the memory of the disc being in that drive by rebooting. It isn't only limited to a disc being in the drive on booting up either. If the drive was empty, and I put disc A in it, if I later remove it and put in disc B, it still thinks disc A is in there. This doesn't seem to happen with my NEC drive, only the Pioneer one, and the only solution I have found... Read more

I used to have a triple-monitor setup, but one of the monitors died. Since I removed the other monitor, Windows has had trouble remembering the "Always On Top" status for: 1) The Taskbar 2) Gadgets and 3) Winamp.

I've restarted a number of times since I removed the monitor but still the problem persists. Windows will remember to keep an element on top for a little while, but eventually forgets until I manually click on the object to bring it back on top, where it remains until Windows next forgets. The taskbar no longer has a tickbox option for "Always on top". Winamp is set to be "Always On Top".

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

I'm sure this has been covered before, so pardon me asking it again: Why is it that when I specify a folder to save a series of images, it opens to save in My Pictures every time and I have to navigate back to the folder I want. Frustrating!

I don't know when it started doing this, but every time I visit a page, and then close the Firefox window and come to open it up again later, it doesn't remember it...

I know it is hard to understand without understandable terms, but It's like this, Usually before if i open a flash game and then close it and come to play it the next month, it loads the second time in seconds, while these days, I've to reload it everytime i open the game...

Is that a problem in the computer or Firefox? Sorry if my explanation is not good enough...

(Note:- I'm using Firefox 3.0)

A:[SOLVED] Problem with remembering

Hey, check your "Clear Private Data" settings, (Click Tools->Options->Privacy Tab) Click the settings button in the "Private data" section.. and see if "clear cache" or whatever is checked (this will clear the cache [which is what i think is happening in your case]) if it's checked then uncheck it and see if that makes a difference[if the private data is being cleared when firefox closes])...

It really is hard to work out exactly what's going on sorry i cant be of more help

Cheers,
Jamey

How do I get Firefox to remember something typed into a specific field? This text box pops up after I select 'Merchant Accept Liability' from the dropdown menu. I have to type 'We accept liability' into the text box at least 200 times a day. If there was some way for Firefox to remember this, it'd be extremely convenient. Attached screenshot.

One of the best rated form fillers is Roboform. It works in Firefox and IE.

Quote:

Quality Artificial Intelligence
RoboForm is really smart in filling in forms; it is the most precise form filler on the market. We use Artificial Intelligence techniques to achieve this kind of precision and we test RoboForm thoroughly.

Selective Form Filling
You can ask RoboForm to fill just a part of your form, rather than the complete form. Simply select (highlight) the fields that you want RoboForm to fill and click any form filling button -- only the selected fields will be filled.

You could also try one of these Firefox addons:

Fireform

iMacros

Quote:

Automate Firefox. Record and replay repetitious work. If you love the Firefox web browser, but are tired of repetitive tasks like visiting the same sites every days, filling out forms, and remembering passwords, then iMacros for Firefox is the solution you?ve been dreaming of! Whatever you do with Firefox, iMacros can automate it.

Since I've been using my new system running Windows XP Home, I've noticed on sites that require log-ins, that I have to re-login all the time when I visit. It's like somehow now my computer is not remembering to automatically remember my log-in information. It may be due to the new firewall installed called CA Internet Security Suite. I tried changing the settings to "medium security", but when I check again, the setting all revert to "high security." This was not a problem with the old computer running Windows 98. What's causing this and is there a fix?

A:New Computer not remembering log-in information

check your firewall config to see if you are blocking cookies. They contain that logon info so if blocked you will have to re-enter your info
