I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I would try and sell the one you have and rather go for a better card and if you can afford to go for a card that has DX11 GeForce GTX 460

You may also need to check out your PSU as well. I see you don't have your spec entered in your profile so I cannot tell

Hi guys, after a extensive search on internet, include this forum i dont know what to do.

I have a Geforce 9500gt with latest drivers instaled and i got bsod from time to time.

The video starts to fail and crashes.

Appears to be related to time i used the pc, so if i turn off for a hour it?s hold for a long time, maybe a hour or so before crashs again.

The fan seems to work right my psu is 200w but since i use pci-e i guess it?s enough, can i be wrong?

my card works well for about a month before starts to crash and i do nothing diferent that can cause this.

from my research i learn that?s a good chance to be hardware related, but i wan to be sure before try to chance the video card.

i read a lot about this and dont find a solution yet, i hope you guys can help me.

i search about and find nothing but i use win vista home premium if i break some rule about be just win seven sorry, but this forum seems to be only one that can do something.

i run the win nt6 but i can?t do perform in start, perhaps to be in safe mode?

Hello, this is my first post here on this forum and hopefully someone here can offer me a solution, because I'm at at my wits end trying to get this to work. I'll try to list off everything that I've tried.

GPU: XFX GeForce 9500

Gateway LX-6200
Computer Specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium x64
AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core
8GB Ram
Serial ATA 500GB HD
ATI Radeon HD 3200
500W PSU
(any other info needed, just request)

P.S. Not sure of the MoBo build. It was the original MoBo that came with the computer.

I originally did what I normally do when installing any graphics card; I uninstalled the on-board graphics card drivers and disabled it, then attempted to install the drivers for the new card. While running the installation, an error appeared telling me that it didn't detect any Nvidia compatible hardware in my setup. So I checked my device manager and sure enough, there was only the onboard card showing up in the list. So I tried restarting the computer to see if a reboot would cause it to appear. Nothing happened, so I ran CCleaner and Driver Sweeper to clear any registry and drivers issues that could be occuring. I rebooted, and still nothing appeared. So I went into the BIOS and tried to change some settings in there. I disabled the on-board through the options there, but that only caused the BIOS to give me issues and I couldn't even reach the splash screen, so I reset it and then tried changing the load settings from IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI to GFXO-GPP-IGFX-PCI, saved and then reboo... with all the things you have tried it may be that difficult to undo all of them. If you need anything on that driave now is the time to backup.

then you can do a system fikle checker by typing cmd in search and then sfc /scannow. see if that works. If it doesn't you should do a repair install.

I assume you have the vista dvd.

Hey guys, I recently bought a Geforce 9500 GT and I'm looking to overclock it. It's from BFG Tech (part number BFGC951024GTE) It comes clocked at 550, and I'd like to overclock it to 600 or 650 (600 first, watch temps ext.)

When playing games, it averages in about around 54 celcius, which is pretty decent for gaming. It QUICKLY drops down to high 40's (47 currently, just coming from playing WoW on full).

I've heard about RivaTuner, and it looks promising, I'm just not 100% sure yet. How good is RivaTuner, or what can I use to overclock my GPU?

Also, I am using Windows 7. Would this make any difference?

Thanks a lot guys!

A:Overclocking a nVidia Geforce 9500 GT?

Overclocking the 9500GT (which is pretty much a 8600GTs) may gain you 2~5fps.

RivaTuner is an OC software you can use. If you want noticeable more performance, you need a better video card... Even something like the $65 4670/9600GT is about twice as fast. But even the 9500gt is more than enough for WOW.

Win7 make a difference in what?

Well it is obviously your video driver or card. These crashes were virtually identical. All are bugcheck 116 which is the system attempting to reset the video card after a failure with no success.

though your hardware may be less than 5 months old you network card and driver are not. Your current driver has a 2003 date on it. I am surprised you are even able to get to the internet
Try replacing your video driver this way

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

Hey everyone,

I have been looking at this card Geforce 9500 GT for a replacement for my awful integrated card. I don't intend to put a lot of stress on it, so I though this would work well.

First question: Would I need to replace my PSU? Currently, I am using the base PSU from a eMachines T6542, a 300 watt one, I believe. Currently, I have an AMD 3500+ 2.21 CPU, 2 gigs 800 mHz DDR2 memory, 160 gig HD, etc. I have no other major peripherals besides a mouse, keyboard and shipped speakers. I don't intend to run Crysis or any other really high powered game and the few games that I will play such as Oblivion, I don't intend to run higher than 1024x768 for now. This site says the Max Board Power Draw was 50 watts but I'm not sure if that's what it means.

Second: I am running XP Media Center 05 with DirectX 9.0c. Because the card is DX10, can I still use it?

Third: The card is supposed to use a PCI E 2.0 slot. My motherboard has the older 1.1 slot; I read that it is backwards compatible. Is this true?

Fourth: Finally, in relation to the first question, would it endanger my motherboard or any other part if the PSU was not adequate for the GPU?

Thanks in advance.

A:Solved: Geforce 9500 GT Questions

1. Yup, you'll need at minimum a 350 watt or greater PSU with 18 amps on the volt rail. eMachines PSU's don't usually cut it and have a bad habit of dieing under normal use as it is.

2. Yup, you won't get DX10 but no big loss there.

3. PCI-Express 2.0 is indeed backward compatible to versions 1.1.

4. You could damage your motherboard, video card, power supply, and any other components if the power supply fails because it was overloaded. A power supply is a lot cheaper to buy then a whole new computer.

For headroom and future upgradeable get a 450 watt or higher wattage power supply from a quality manufacturer. A cheap 450 watt unit will be a worse then the stock one you have one.

Here's some I would recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...Value=1314:14178&PropertyCodeValue=1314:14177

Hello all!

I've seen a lot of posts about this online whilst I've been Googling over the past couple days, but most of the time the threads end without a solution or they're about *nix operating systems.

I got a new desktop and decided I'd use the old machine as a media server, where I could keep my iTunes library, stream Netflix movies, etc. The machine runs Windows Vista Ultimate 32, and has a GeForce 9500 GT with 2 DVI output slots and one S-Video output slot. My TV is an older 4:3 CRT TV with S-video in, and RCA yellow, red, and white inputs. I already have a cable that converts the headphone jack to RCA red and white, so audio works fine. Video is a different story.

If I turn off the computer while the S-Video is attached and then turn it back on, the BIOS displays on the TV, so I know the card and the S-Video jack are functional. But once Windows starts up, there's no display on the TV, like it's not getting a signal.

I downloaded the latest driver from NVIDIA, but I'm having no luck, not even in the NVIDIA control panel. It's like I can't convince the video card that something is plugged into the SVideo port and that it should start pushing video through there. No resolution change I have tried has made any difference - I've gone all the way down to 800X600 and still nothing.

While getting the S-Video to work properly would be the most preferred option, I'm open to any suggestion that could work - ie, is there... Read more

Hello,

I am new to this forum and this is my first post. What brought me here was my difficulty in finding info on how to internally connect the SPDIF 3-pin connector on my ASUS mobo to my GeForce 9500 GT. (I have an HP Pavilion a6660z).

I searched the forum and found others that asked this question over a span of years; some did not get answers and some had a different configuration than mine.

I connected my PC spdif coax port with a cable to my Denon stereo. I also want to make the internal connection so that the HDMI cable will pass the audio also (through the GeForce 9500 GT), and then I can enable the audio on the HDMI monitor and TV in the NVidia Control Panel settings.

My ASUS mb has one "SPDIF OUT2" 3-PIN connection. On the outer side of the motherboard is the flat (bottom) side of the plastic casing for the pins, so I believe I am reading it as Pin 1 to 3. (And I assume pin 1 is ground, black?) I read somewhere that only two of these pins would be connected? Does anybody know which two? Or is it all 3 with a specific cable?

On my GeForce 9500 GT I have two possible connections. At the top of the board is one small white simple 2-pin connection. Next to it is a black connection, of 2 rows with 4 pins each. The bottom row has all 4 pins. The top row has Pins 1, 2 and 4 (3 is empty).

Can any kind soul tell me how to perform the marriage here? The ASUS website was worthless, and I spent hours there to no avail. I asked HP this same question and they just... Read more

I've searched upon the BSOD error and I have found no results. I was told to copy the mindumps and NFO and upload them so here they are.

In a word no. I checked the specs on your system. With that pw supply, installing any type of video card would really be asking for a problem.

Next issue after the pw supply would be cooling. With that small of a a case, you really need to think about the system cooling. A video card will generate more heat than the onboard graphics.

Hiya people I am having a problem with my TV or it could be my graphics card anyway I have the Nvidia gforce 9500 GT connected to my 32" LCD tv via DVI to HDMI but when I have it connected via HDMI port 1 on my TV the picture becomes blurry and I have scaling problems but I can fix the scaling problems. Anyway once I sort out the scaling problem the picture looks blurry and it looks like the brightness is set too high I have tried changing it in the nvidia control pannel and the same with my tv but it still stays the same.

Anyways when i connect it via HDMI port 2 on my TV the picture runs perfect the brightness is fine as well as the scaling and also the picture looks alot more vibrant and does not have the grayish look and I dont have to mess about with any of the settings. and when I have my Xbox 360 or my ps3 on this port the picture looks hell of alot better as the picture looks more vibrant and the black seems to be better on this port too

anyways anyone know if there is a fix for this!? if so HELP!

Hi everybody. I recently finished my first build, and am currently trying to work though some problems that I hope someone can help me with.

So as soon as I got it working I decided to test out my games. Hitman Blood Money, and Left4Dead worked perfectly fine. I decided next logical test would be Team Fortress 2. When that started up it worked initially. After a few minutes and graphical tweaks it started trying to redisplay the game. It flipped out, stopped displaying text and buttons, and then only displayed 4 slightly different colored giant squares on the screen. I hit alt+F4, and ctrl+alt+delete to try and get out, which didnt work. The computer just restarted on its own.

Luckily it started back up without a hitch, so I tried Garry's Mod. Same thing happened. At this point i decided to reinstall the graphics drivers. After that finished I tried again, same thing happened. This time i was fortunate enough to alt+F4 out in time, so it didnt restart. After this I decided to look towards my Nvidia options for the answer.

I changed the refresh rate to 75 hertz (Highest Option), and changed the performance settings from "Quality" to "Performance".

After this, again, I tried TF2 and it finally worked! ... temporarily. I got into a game and it seemed to work great, until I exited out and a new problem arrose. The previous problem only happened in games, but this one was both in and out of them. This one was leaving stray pixels on the screen whenev... Read more

Hello Overson, welcome to the forum

Windows update does not necessarily install the newest drivers . If you are having no problems with the driver 266.58 then I would stay with that one

Hello again all,

As I was messing around at hp.com, I have found many various customizable laptops that I found online. However, it all boils down to the graphics card. I have a choice between 6150, 7200, and 7400. Now which one should I chose and how different are the performance between each card? I need help asap as college is starting soon and I want to get one as soon as possible.

A:Geforce Go 6150 or Geforce Go 7200 or Geforce Go 7400

The 7400 is the best option, since it's fastest, but you may not need a faster video card if you don't do activities that require a fast video card. This link may be helpful.

I have a P4 1.3 gHz with 128 RDRAM. I know its not the greatest system...but I just ordered a 9500 pro and I want to know if my games, Tribes 2, Warcraft 3, and Americas Army, will run smoothly on the default video settings.

Im not looking for maxed out 1600x1200 graphics here. I am going to be upgrading my RAM to 512 in a month or so, but I just want to know if I will still be able to play my games smoothly on the DEFAULT settings.

Tanks:grinthumb

A:Will 9500 pro be okay for now?

You should have no probs at all running ALL those games at default or even slightly higher resolutions. Warcraft 3 may even run well at 1600x1200 on that setup. Tribes 2 will be the only game I'm unsure about as I haven't installed it in quite some time and I never had the performance problems everyone else had - even though I had a lesser machine than many at that time. The only probs I had with Tribes 2 was the busted sound for SMP machines (I was running it on a dual [email protected])

I'm building a computer and I don't know which one to get. I plan to use it for playing newer games such as SWTFU, Call of Duty, and other uhm...this generation games.

The system I plan on using it with is as follows:
Motherboard: ASRock M3A770DE
Memory: 4GB DDR3
Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 550 @ 3.31 GHz
GT 220: Newegg.com - Galaxy 22TGE8HX2IUN GeForce GT 220 1GB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

9500GT: Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-N958-LR GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

I'm looking for a semi-cheap card but at the same time I don't want to sacrifice performance. If you guys recommend something different, feel free to do so lol. I would also like to stay with nVidia, I've always had bad luck with ATI...

A:nVidia GT 220 or 9500 GT?

Neither. The memory interface on those cards is low (128-bit). That's why they're so cheap. You'll get much better performance out of a card with a higher memory interface (256-bit+). The ram isn't as important, you can get away with a 512MB card, but if you really want the 1GB it's only $15 more.

I.E. EVGA GeForce 9800 GT - 512MB 256-bit DDR3 PCIe x16 2.0 $75 after mail in rebate

If you really want the 1GB of ram, go with this card:

EVGA GeForce 9800 GT - 1GB 256-bit DDR3 PCIe x16 2.0 $90 after mail in rebate

Memory interface is much more important than the amount of ram. You'll notice much more difference between the two. ATI increases theirs mostly with GDDR5 ram topping out at 256-bit and NVIDIA stuck with GDDR3 which tops out at about 448-bit so far. According to some sources, GDDR5 is twice as fast but you also have to take into account the memory interface itself with an equivalent ATI card to the 9800 GT only running at 128-bit. The same is with the higher end cards, the high 5 series are 256-bit and the GTX 2 series is 448-bit.

Hi there. I'm hoping someone out there can possibly help me please.

I've recently freshly installed Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. Everything is fine except my graphics card drivers. I can play a game for a couple of minutes but it then flickers/Graphical tearing and goes to a black screen and turns off.

Sometimes it'll either turn off completely and I'll have to restart my PC, or it goes off for a few seconds and then it'll load back up saying that my drivers have failed but successfully recovered.

I've currently got the 195.39 drivers installed, I've tried it with the 191.07 drivers too but the problem is still the same. Of course I've completely uninstalled previous drivers before installing new ones, even running Driver Sweeper to remove the rest of the drivers so it's a complete new install.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Could be heat related. But let's see a crash dump. Here's how to post it. Probably 0x116 stop error is my guess.

So here i am on xp sp3, and my nvidia drivers wont install, the cd it came with doesnt even detect im even running the card!
What?!?!
it says
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT 0.0 GeForce Release 182
Version: 182.50 WHQL
Release Date: April 2, 2009

????!?!?

every time i try and use an nvidia updater, it doesnt work either...

what is wrongg?

i cant play some games now

A:Nvidia 9500 gt SP3?!

GeForce 182.08 was the current version before 182.50 was recently released.

With Windows XP, you need to uninstall the old version, restart, install the new version, restart again, then select your personal settings.

And always make sure the antivirus and antispyware programs are stopped first before you start the uninstall and install of the drivers.

hi all
ive recently bought a few bits n pieces to give my old computer a bit of an upgrade my specs are.

dual core pentium e5200 2.5ghz
gigabyte G31M-S2l mobo
4 gig ddr2 ram
xp with service pack 2
350w antec "might be the problem might not."

i also bought a gigabyte 9500gt==== gigabyte.com.tw/products/vga/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=3025

but when i try to install the card it says that "Gigabyte does not support this VGA card".... ive hunted around the net for some answers but came back with none. im thinking that it might have something to do with the VGA card is pcie 2.0 and my mobo is only pcie x16 any help would be much appreciated or point me in the right direction of a gfx card that will actually work with my pc......

thanks

It should be backwards compatible so it shouldn't matter. Maybe your motherboard BIOS needs an update.

Getting massive screen corruption with it, I built the following system for my cousin:

2800+
512MB stick of PC3200 by OCZ
R9500 Pro built by ATI
80GB WD Barracuda drive
CDRW by LG
SX1040 case-400W Antec PSU
Gigabyte KT600 board

Now this is my exact problem:

It went through the XP install just fine, and then we played Comanche 4 for 20 mins which was very fluid and looking great! Left it on, went for dinner, came back and there were all sorts of lines through the screen, and some dots as well. No amount of reboots would help.

I need this fixed by tonight, since I leave Saturday and they're not that computer-literate and I have to install some other stuff for them yet.

Now it seems that the monitor isn't even getting a signal from the card (bad VGA connector?). I'm going to try to call ATI and give them a shot.

Thanks a bunch for any help

A:Need help fast-9500 Pro

Most likely your video card is defective. Try letting your PC cool down for a while before turning it on again. If display is still corrupt (even during boot) then try also reseating your card. If problem persists, then you should send the card back for replacement as it is faulty. You may also want to try installing another video card, just to rule out mobo problems, but its highly unlikely, though not impossible, to be the mobo.

I'm getting ready to re-install Windows XP because of another problem and I'm thinking about installing a Zalman 9500 CPU cooler while I'm at it. The stock Intel fan on the Core 2 Duo E6600 is kind of noisy, and I'm wondering how much quieter the Zalman fan is. Does anyone have any information on this? Is it worth the trouble? My current motherboard is an Asus P5B Deluxe and it has a CPU fan controller which I could also set to quiet mode, but it will make the CPU run hotter. I have already turned down the fan speed on my Apire power supply and that helped a lot. The eVGA GeForce 7600GT fan doesn't seem too bad -- I think it's the Intel CPU fan that dominates, but it's hard to tell. I put a low rpm sleeve fan in the front of the Antec case and that also helped, but I have a stock (speed adjustable) 120mm case fan in the back. I think it's the Intel CPU fan that's dominating the noise now, so any advice there would be appreciated, especially with respect to the Zalman 9500 replacement.

A:Fan noise and Zalman 9500

I am running the 9500 on a dual core computer and it is the quietest fan in my pc.It is also an awesome heatsink/fan.I never get above 56c at full load.

Hi,
My problem with NVIDIA 9500 GS graphic card. When I turn on my PC, it freezes
when the desktop is shown; as a result, I have to turn it off from the power button.
Then turn it on again until it stops freezing.
So, according to the PC action center:

Quote:
Address a problem with NVIDIA Graphics Driver

NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly 15 times.
A driver update, if available, might prevent this problem from recurring.
There are several ways of locating and installing driver updates, but it is best to let Windows do this for you. Try the first step below, which describes the process. If it doesn't produce a driver update that solves the problem, then try the remaining steps in the order given.

I have already installed the latest driver, I hope I can get help to solve this issue.

A:NVIDIA 9500 GS freezes the PC

NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

You have this driver installed Correct?
If you look under Supported products tab on the page above the 9500 GS is listed.

Hey guys. I hope I'm posting my BSOD problem correctly, as I followed the instructions. I just installed a 9500GT and a new Cool Master Extreme Plus 500W PSU. I'm getting BSOD or crash to desktops when playing any game. I trust a Furmack testing and my GPU isn't overheating. It has a pretty stable 88C at its peak processing point.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 that came preloaded on my HP p6710f. I included the dump (I think?) and a systems report. Please let me know if I need to include anything more. Thanks for the help guys!

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

Some generic advice.

If you are overclocking STOP. return to the default settings at least for now.
If you are running a RAID update its driver.
You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Well, I ordered myself a new little computer to build, and have come across a small problem I was afraid of...

You see, a shuttle XPC is quite small... 200 watt power supply small, it's very attractive, and unobtrusive.

Anywho, when I attempt to hook up my 9500, I get a small burst of power and then the computer dies, when I unhook the external power cable from the 9500, the computer boots, and I get a message on the monitor to plug said external power supply in...

I just wonder if anyone knows if this problem is unique to my computer, or if there's a common work around? I've seen multiple shuttle PCs running 9700 pros, even, so I thought this was quite doable...

Anywho, thanks for your help, who ever can supply some!

I'm currently using the latest version of rivatuner in conjunction with my softmod radeon 9500 128 np and am currently happy with its performance but have one major bugbear - whenever I try to overclock using riva, I can only move the sliders marginally before image degredation sets in - I can only assume that the gfx cards cpu is more prone to error as its temperature is increased.
My question is this - would fitting a more efficient cooling unit on the gfx card enable me to overclock with more success?
Also, are gfx fans easy to replace?

A:RADEON 9500 Overclocking

well - on all cards ive seen gfx fans are dead easy to replace - pince the little plastic pegs with a pliers and the fans just falls off - what do you mean by 'image defredation' - odd colour polygons? odd lines across the screen - that is the sign of overheating

you could use a variety of apps to lower the fan speed.....the Nvidia control panel will allow it only if you have unlocked the advanced options..
