I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

First of all:
I don't know too much about computers, so use easy language please.

I have sent in my computer to get repaired and got it back yestersay. Since then i've been trying to get it to work properly again.
I can't play any of the games I used to play before I sent it in to get repaired (for example, Battlefield 3). I can start dota2 but it looks pretty messed up. I can run minecraft though ^^

Anyway, after a lot of questions asked, trying out different stuff and after getting further and further to the end of this problem I've come to this:

My computer shows me that I have an nvidia geforce 7025 nforce 630a graphic card.
Although it says in the computer description that it SHOULD have a AMD HD 6870 1GB GDDR 5.
My screen isn't plugged in the graphic card, since it doesn't recieve anything from there. It is plugged directly to the motherboard.
So, from what I understand the nvidia card is the integrated graphic card or am I totally wrong?

Anyway, the device manager can only find the nvidia card and I cannot run any game smoothly on this computer.
Before I realized this possibility I've tried to download newer drivers for the nvidia card, but it didn't help.

Please help me to get my ADM HD 6870 1GB GDDR 5 to run!
I'm trying to google for solutions, but I'll give this site a shot.

A:Graphic card isn't found. Only finds my integrated graphic card. Help!

first check they havent stolen you GPU
then check that the 4/8pin pci power supply is plugged into the top left of the motherboard.
then check the gpu has power cable(s) plugged in.

A:Can you change a laptop video card/graphic card?

Unless the laptop has onboard graphics, there is no reason why the card can't be changed.

Of course, I am not very knowledgeable with GFX cards, so I can't necessarily tell whether is has onboard graphics or not.

A:video card/graphic card reboot problem

boynamedanurag Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about booting and video card problems and wanted to help. So, if I understand what you're saying, you reinstalled Win7 and the PC boots OK, right? But when you then install a video driver and reboot, it does not boot, right? My guess is that you have one of the old DV6 laptops that has two video chipsets, something called Switchable Graphics.  And the problem with that is that only the HP OEM video drivers will work on that laptop.  IF you install other ones, such as the ones you get from AMD or Nvidia, they will NOT work -- which sounds like what is happening to you. What DOES work is restoring your PC using HP Recovery Media because that will contain the HP OEM drivers.  Media. This is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks.  You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded. You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/driversOnce there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Product Name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PCOperating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) Hello, Can I upgrade my motherboard with a graphic card. Is it possible?

A:improvement of graphic card (video card)

serzh_shumkov Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about wanting to upgrade the graphics on your laptop and wanted to help. Sorry for the bad news, but you are operating under a misunderstanding.  Unlike desktop PCs, laptops do not use video "cards"; instead, they use video chips that are permanently attached to either video modules, or to the laptop system board.  These are not customer-replaceable parts.

A:What is the diffret in a video card / graphic card?

A video card and a graphic(s) card are the same thing. What you have now is an integrated graphics card. Integrated graphics cards have terrible performance. Now, we need to know whether your motherboard has a PCI-E or AGP slot. Download CPU-Z , take screenshots of the tabs called "CPU" and "Mainboard" and post them here.

They should look something like this (the information and logo will be different):

Are these the same thing? I have an old Dell (as you can see), but I like it. I was told that I could improve its performance by adding a video card. When I look them up, I see pictures of odd-looking devices that in no way resemble a "card." I can only find 2 that will work with this computer. Does that seem right?

A:Video card vs graphic card?

"Video Card" and "Graphics Card" are the same thing.

There are 4 different versions of the 745. A "minitower", a desktop, a Small Form Factor and an ultra small form factor. Which one do you have? It makes a difference for a video (graphics) card.

The minitower will take a PCIe type video card. With the small power supply that can limit you (if this is the model you have). The others versions are even further restrictive as they will require "low profile" type cards.

A:Graphic Card

You should definately get something better than a Radeon x1300. Believe me, I am currently using an x1300, and it does not game very well. The x1300 is a fantastic card for the price, but one will not be satisfied gaming with it. Also, the price difference from budget-card to a mainstream-card is hardly noticable, so it is hardly logical anymore to get a low-end budget card.

Keep in mind that when choosing a graphics card, the last three digits are what you must pay attention to. For example, a Radeon x1300 is not better than a Radeon x800. Because X and X1 are the generations, whereas 800 and 300 are the models. Therefore the x800 is better than the x1300. The x800 is an old high-end card, and the x1300 is a new low-end card. Make sense? Choose something that has a 600 at the end for mainstream graphical performance.

I recommend something that is mid-range, like the king of budget gaming, the GeForce 7600GT. Any card in the GeForce 7600 series or the Radeon x1600 series would also suffice.

Hope I helped

A:New graphic card

Are you gaming in hd? (1280x720 or higher resolution)
If so I honestly don't think you are going to see a drastic improvement with that specific card.
I would honestly suggest looking at an ATI 6750 it's right about the same money (around 100 bucks)
and has much faster memory in it.
the gt440 has a superior pixel rate, but I don't think this is something you want over the ability to process properly at high resolutions (texel rate/memory bandwidth.)
Neither one are high performance cards mind you but the newer ones are built completely differently than your old 8 series nvidia. ...don't get me wrong I had a 8800gt when they first came out and it was the best card on the market. I still have it though and it only sits in a drawer because it simply can't handle 1080p resolution at a liveable rate.

This is dependent on your motherboard to an extent though. While a standard pci-e is capable of running a 2.1 card, it can be buggy on some motherboards. ...and I honestly don't know if your board is good on that front or not. You could always drop gigabyte support a quick email asking if that specific card will work properly with that board, there may be a bios update involved.

Hi, I?mhoping that someone on the forum will be able to give me some much neededadvice regarding a Graphics Card Upgrade.

I will tryto be as short and accurate as possible but basically a then new PC and cardwere recommended to us but when the new card was fitted it failed to work, wewere told after that, the new card was to powerful for the motherboard so wefitted a different card, which worked but as any PC gamer will know this is nownot up to what is needed for today?s games.

My son isnow desperate to upgrade his card once again but we don?t want to be in thesame situation again.

His currentPC is as follows,

DellInspiron.660 (bought in 2012)

i5-3330 CPU3.00 GHZ

Windows 8.1

We upgradedthe PSU to a XFX 650W

The cardthat he had bought but failed to work was a VTX3D BlackEdition Radeon HD 7870 (Tahiti LE) OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card [VX78702GBD5-2DHV3E]

The card that he currently has is Radeon 6870

The card that he would like to fit into his PC is EVGAGTX 970 SSC

Can anyone see any problems that we may come up againstfitting the EVGA card.

Regards Swamps

A:Graphic Card Help Please

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
The evga card requires a 500watt power supply
If you have a 750 you should be fine like most gpu's you need some over head to power the rest of the machine/ monitor/...

So if you look at the power supply/ psu it will have a tag on it which will state what wattage it is
Post that info you might have to upgrade it as well to get a better gpu/ graphic's card to work properly

That is the first time I've heard that a card is too powerful for the mother board
Usually it would be too powerful for the psu.

For the record you're better off with a NVidia card than a AMD anyway
Which the AMD also requires a 500watt psu as well but the evga card will perform better

So yes you'll need to look into modular power supplies I would look at evga psu's in the above stated 750-1000w range and a P2
EVGA - Products - Power Supplies - Power Supplies - 850 Watts

Need some more graphical power for my desktop ...and I was wondering about getting a Zotac Nvidia 750ti GPU!The power supply is the first issue as my PSU is only 300 Watts but I'll replace it!The second issue is that will the GPU fit in the motherboard as my old GPU is a low-end 5450 and is a very small card.... but the 750 ti is pretty big as compared to the 5450.  So will the GPU fit in my Motherboard as by looking at the motherboard I think that the Northbridge might interfere! To run GTA 4 properly you need at least a strong dual-core processor and a discrete dedicated graphics card. Intel Integrated graphics cards are not really designd to run these heavy graphics games.

However, if you post your pc specifications (Processor, RAM, Graphics Card...) and if you dercribe your problem with details, i can try to help you to solve your issue.

Hello al52 and welcome,
Try this: Go to add/remove programs, and completely uninstall CCC and all ATI drivers.
Then go to device manager and right click on your display adapter/properties/driver details and make sure it is uninstalled.

Then try to reinstall the latest ATI Catalyst 9.12 Display Driver.
Also check to see that your monitor driver is installed and up to date. If the monitor is out of diplay range ( unable to display 1280x1024)it wil freeze.
See if that helps, and post the results. If not, we'll try another route.

Hey everyone...
i got a really old rig.
its P4 3.07GHz, Intel D101GGCL, 1GB DDR RAM [yes DDR1, i know it sucks, you are welcome to abuse me]], Onboard ATI Radeon Xpress 200 - 256MB
and a 250W PSU.

The motherboard has 1 PCI Express x16 and 1 PCI Express x1 connectors.

1] I want to purchase a graphic card that will fit inside these. Please suggest me the best without adding anything more to the PC.

2] Will that card ADD TO MY 256MB of the onboard graphic card memory?

3] I would prefer a 1GB card.

4] I want to play most of the modern games... if not the extreme ones.

PLEASE suggest me a graphic card I can add. I do not want to modify anything else.
I need this.

when i using my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1564), the monitor getting to the unknown state that i attached the image of monitor below, can everyone help me to how to solve this problem?

A:Graphic Card

I'm guessing this happens right about the time the laptop has been on long enough to build up some heat?
It really looks like the graphics are getting cooked.
If it's under warranty I would take it right back to them, the odds of this being software side are pretty low.

Number 1 - For a card like that, you need a good quality 500watt PSU.

Number 2 - Are we talking PCI-Express slot or AGP slot?

I built a computer a week or two ago and thanks to your site I got it up and running. It was all fine until I unhooked it because I was planing on moving. When I hooked it back up I went to show my friend my cool new toy. He is a little better with computer then me so he was messing around with the 3Dfx tools for my Voodoo4 4500 AGP then when trying to play Monkey Island4 (fun game!) it came up and said hard wear not present look at troubleshoot for details. We reinstalled the drivers for the card tried reinstalling the game still nothing. What should I do? The computer says the the card is there and it works but I still get that message when I try to start that game. Would it help if I reinstalled windows?

A:Graphic card????

First i would completely uninstall the game using whatever uninstaller is available, also manually delete any remnants left after the uninstall, either add remove programs or game specific uninstaller.
Once it's all gone, reinstall it, if it works great, if not Go to device manager, remove your video card, reboot and reinstall, then reinstall directx. Hopefully it will work

Hi i built my own desktop and i got all the required things for sli but it didnt work. My two graphics cards are about 3 years apart and i was wondering if the year mattered for sli. Also one graphics card is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 and the other is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 performance edition and i was wondering if one being the performance edition would cause any problems.

A:graphic card sli

No, that's fine, they just need to be the same base GPU so as long as both are GTX 660's then that should be fine.

Does your motherboard support SLI? Did you enable SLI in the BIOS? Did you enable SLI in the NVidia Control Panel? Do you have a power supply capable of running two GTX 660's in SLI?

It would be immensely usfeul if you posted the complete and exact specs of all your computer hardware including the exact model of your power supply, the motherboard revision and BIOS version, and the nVidia driver version.

A:New Graphic Card!HELP!!!

what games do you play? what resolution is your monitor? and how much money do you want to spend?

if you want to go down the amd/ati road, have a look at either an ati hd4850 or hd4890 - they should be cheaper now that the hd5870 is out.

i'm sure other members can recommend a well-priced hi-performance nvidia card if we wait a bit...

Hey i have pes 2011 on my computer, before installing vista i could play it on medium quality without any lag but now after installing vista i only can play in low quality, i dont know what graphic card i have before but now it says i have NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS (PS3.0/VS3.0) and the minimum requirement is NVIDIA GeForce 6600 so my question after installing an os does it reduces ur graphic card quality if not i dont know why could this be happening help would be appreciated, thanks.

A:Graphic card

First thing to do is to install latest drivers for your card. You need to give more details on your computer (laptop, desktop, model nt, maker, whatever you have) to see which is the correct driver.

from Nvidia site, this should be the driver for 32 bit Vista

and this for 64 bit

If its a laptop, may need a different one.
