I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Problem: A couple months ago I some how got some malware on my mac at work (I don't know how because I don't go to "the sites you should stay away from", so I am guessing it was probably from some stupid ad banner. ANYWAY, when I logged into our website via FTP, a week later I noticed our website was blocked by Google (a client actually called us to tell us) and so I looked around to find the malicious script hidden iframe. The problem is it doesn't affect my mac. I'm getting tired of removing the script from our website every other week not to mention I have no idea what the affects are on a mac and don't want to compromise other peoples computers.

FTP Software: FireFTP
Mac OS: 10.4
Software tried: MacScan (did not detect any malware)

I am trying to take care of this without involving any money and unfortanately there isn't much "free" Software out there for Macs or scanners.

Anyone know how to remove this? I am having the FTP passwords changed but I do not want to log back into the FTP only to have it happen all over again and then have to change our FTP passwords again.

Please help!
Thank you.

Hi,

On a shared server we have a few oscommerce sites. One of them keeps on getting an infection which adds about 60 lines of script to the end of each php and html file... hundreds of them.

We have changed user names, admin name, passwords, cpanel passwords, ftp passwords etc, but every now and then it happens again with the same script.

We have cleaned all files and started again with everything working fine and no virus alerts from our very current Avast and Malwarebytes but it still happens.

As the script is quite old I am updating to a new current script which closes some of the vulnerabilities in the old script but I want to be sure I am not loading a new script onto a site which will infect again.

I plan on deleting the current files and folders so public_html is an empty shell except for cgi-bin and staring afresh. I have also deleted the root/temp files for awstats etc as they too were infecetd.

What else can I do to close whatever hole there is is here. I have other sites on this server that are accessed more times than this one and they are all clean, so it is not me and my boxes, plus I do a thorough clean quite often just in case. I have told the clients to clean there pc's and they say they have repeatedly, altho' I am not sure.

I have attached a text file in a zip file with the virus script which is inserted. Please be careful and do not open it unless you know what you are doing as I would hate it to go further.

I would appreciate any help ... Read more

Hello Everyone,

I am new and have had the horrible experience of getting inundated with ad/Spyware. My pc was running poorly. I saw an article on optimization. I did the opt. and installed Spybot-SD, Spyware, and Microsoft Anti-spyware and followed directions as the article suggested. I also ran the utils in admin safe mode.

My system is now cleaned up (no ad, malware, dialers, viruses) but there are a handful of sites that I can no longer access. When I open IE6 a dialog box pops up called explorer user prompt with the message script prompt with a long black bar. When I click ok, cancel, x, or try to close the browser it just freezes. The cpu usage jumps to 100%. I have to ctrl alt del to back out from the browser or if I keep clicking at close the browser crashes.

I reinstalled IE6 with no luck, messed with the IE security options, deleted all restricted sites, added the sites to the trusted sites, disabled all the three above mentioned anti-spywares, but still no luck. I enabled cookies on the privacy tab, java script, etc. in tools | advanced. I followed each anti-spywares instructions to recover files and turned off agents, etc. but still no luck. I am still locked out and cannot download. All the other sites are fine, it's just the ones before I ran the Spyblaster, etc. utils.

I am so frustrated. How do I fix this? I would really appreciate any advice at all! I don't know what else to do. Anyway, hello and thanks very much in advance everyone... Read more

Hi-
I keep getting the promt "Scripts are usually safe to run. Do you want to run scripts on this page?" It's driving me nuts. Does anyone know what I should check/uncheck in my settings to stop asking me this prompt ??
Another internet explorer window that I get is that my settings prevent me from sending HTML forms. For example, when I try to sign up for a contests on www.swellwomen.com, my computer won't allow me to send in my information.

Please help!! Thank you-

A:script run prompt and HTML forms

If that is an exact quote, it doesn't sound like a Microsoft message.

However, try opening Internet Options > Advanced and make sure "disable script debugging" is checked, and uncheck "display a notification" for every error. (Approximate language for both)

Can you give us a copy/paste of a HijackThis Scanlog following directions here...

When referring to error messages, please quote them fully and exactly as it makes it easier to research.

Hello! I thank you in advance for any assistance concerning said problem since I'm fairly PC retarded and apologize for not being able to return the favor.

I'm getting a Malicious Script Alert when I attempt email attachment downloads. This Norton Antivirus Alert is saying it is coming from iexplore.exe and I use IE as my browser. I deny the download because I'm chicken and then get another error message from MSWord (when it is a word document attachment) saying "There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display requested font." I use WinXP if this is necessary information.

I used HJT and these are the results although I have no idea what to do with them or how to proceed. Any help appreciated since my part time employment requires downloading attachments and this problem is holding me up. I recently had a worm virus that was preventing me from downloading pics as attachments TO SEND but was absolutely certain I had removed it and prevented reinfection. I've also noticed that the exact same emails sent to both hotmail and another one of my freebie email addresses with attachments won't even show up in the hotmail inbox at all. Anyway, here's the HJT results:

I have a virtual environment for testing purpose with VirtualBox.

The DC server is running Windows Server 2012 R2 (computer name is SRV01DC).
The File server is running Windows Server 2012 R2 (computer name is SRV04FILE).
Workstation 1 is running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
Workstation 2 is running Windows 7 Pro 32bit.
Workstation 3 is running Windows 10 Pro 32bit.

I created 2 batch files with the commands below:

Code:
NET USE M: /DELETE
NET USE M: \\SRV04FILE\VMTEST\All

Code:
NET USE O: /DELETE
NET USE O: \\SRV04FILE\VMTEST\IT

I used GPO to run the scripts at login.
The scripts ran successfully for regular users on workstations 1, 2 and 3.
It ran successfully for domain admins on workstations 1 and 2.
It doesn't run for domain admins on workstation 3.

I used gpupdate /force and restarted, but nothing happened.
I had to manually run the batch files to get the network drives to map.

Can someone say why is this happening and how to resolve it?

Thanks.

Here is my Hijack this log file. I did everything listed but I am having issues with the way pages load or don't load properly while on the internet. Cannot read the words very well, sometimes they are overwritten , sometimes they are huge or the writing is too thin to be read easily. For example, when I load a newpaper like NY Times, the columns are squeezed in the middle of the screen and isn't displayed so it is readable columns overlap and words and photos overlap or are sqeezed into a narrow column. I have downloaded new drivers for the display, played with display properties and cannot seem to find the problem. Wondering if it is a bug or virus or worm or something. I am really not a geek, so I need help. I don't know how to mess with registry things, so I use Registry Mechanic. But it has not fixed this problem. I get runtime error codes and it asks me if I want to debug... mostly script errors. I ahve no clue about debugging, so I don't do it. Anyhow, any help would be appreciated!!!Thanks! Hi All,
Can you please help me in fixing java script alert dual color issue. We are using javascript as a client side validation tool. Whenever we display alert its appearing in dual color(white, gray) in IE7.

A:Java script alert color issue

Hey, this is not an issue for the vista forum. Nor is it an IE problem (Well it is) but in future you'd want to post this sort of an issue in the web design and development forum (because you'd get a quicker response, etc).

Anyway, this is not scriptably changeable. E.g. this is a trait of IE 7 not of your code. and as such IE7 users are stuck with that ugly alert box (for any alert).

May i suggest you using Firefox as a testing browser (it's generally seen as easier and more correct).

Cheers,
Jamey

As listed in the title.

I'm having to Sysprep a build for a Tablet Device. The one remaining issue i have is that i cant get the unattend.xml to allow me to enter a PC name short of changing the "<SkipMachineOOBE> to False but the issue here is then that you end up having to setup a user (manually) which i don't want to do.

I have everything working the way i want (runonce reg settings to kickoff some vbs scripts etc with an auto login of a created admin account on 1st boot set in the unattend)

So my thoughts were maybe i can go back to setting <SkipMachineOOBE> to True and have a script that initiated on the runonce login that will prompt to change PC name and then Join domain.

I have goggled around but cant seem to find an example script that works. I think its because they are geared up for Windows 7 or XP.

Does anyone have a suggestion or even a simpler way for me to sort this PC naming bit out. I want it to prompt for an input but only PC name. then carry on with the rest of the unattend.xml

Thanks

Right click the .vbs file - open with notepad - check the second line for a file/folder reference - and then see whether that file/folder exists....

I'm currently trying to use my LG Rumor 2 to act as a modem for a dialup connection with my bluetooth capable computer. Everything is working great but my university, which I'm trying to connect to, requires a ppp script setup and I need to use the terminal window. So the computer dials correctly and everything works but when the terminal window appears I can't type anything although the text field appears for the username. Also, within a few seconds of the terminal window appearing I get the error "The Script has Halted." I can however right click and paste in text (but i don't know if that's relevant). Here is what I see:

Any suggestions?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen
book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop
publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

I work in an enterprise environment, where I manage a lab of 75 computers. I use Ghost to image and then I walk the computers afterwards to change the PC names and SIDs.

I am implementing a script to automatically add the computers to the domain but I am new to PowerShell and would really appreciate the help. Here's the script I'm using, 1.ps1:

Param (
[String]$User = $(Throw "MYDOMAINUSERINFO"),
[String]$Domain = "MYDOMAININFO",

#Make sure our path string has a trailing backslash

{ $PathToCred += "\"
}
#Now create file string
$File = $PathToCred + "JoinDomain-$User.crd"
#And find out if it's there, if not create it
If (-not (Test-Path $File))
{ (Get-Credential).Password | ConvertFrom-SecureString | Set-Content $File
}
#Load the credential file
$Password = Get-Content $File | ConvertTo-SecureString
$Credential = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PsCredential($User,$Password)
#Add the computer to the domain
Add-Computer -DomainName $Domain -Credential $Credential

I run this script using a batch file that I place in the startup folder.

Powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass C:\OMC\AutoPost\1.ps1 -User MYDOMAINUSERINFO -Domain MYDOMAININFO -PathToCred C:\OMC\AutoPost\

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since I have been on here. I have had a few computer problems that I had to work through, and once again I had to do a Factory Condition System Reset. The second time in jut over a year. They did not know what was causing my problem. I talked to both Dell; my computer manufacturer and Microsoft who made Windows Vista. They boh could not figure out what was causing my problems. Microsoft recommended to go to my computer manufacturer. And Dell just said to do the complete System Reset, Also Known As: Factory Condition Restore.

Back to my questions about Script debugging and Script errors. Every once in a while I have Windows notify me of the Script errors. Also sometimes when I go to view a webpage or enter a website a message will pop-up saying that a script error occured that could prevent me from viewing the page properly and asks me if I want to continue. I do have: "Disable Script debugging?" checked for both "Internet Explorer" and "Other". I also get a little note in the lower left hand corner saying: "Done, but with errors on page."

My first question is: What the heck is Script debugging?

Second question is: What can I do about the Script errors that occur?

Third: Why do script errors occur or what causes them? I know there can be millions of reasons that they occur, but what are the most common ones?

Fourth: Is there anything that can be done to fix them from the viewer'... Read more

After reading for a while I got to the conclusion that the problem is related to Kaspersky

Can anyone help me. I don't know a lot so the simpler your explanation is the better.

Is Kaspersky working or not working? If you are getting a VB Script error, either something was removed in error, or you have the OS locked down too tightly with the A/V software.

Hi,

For some time I haven't been able to open System Restore.
After I ran a malware removal program (yes, I did delete some "affected" files) there was no improvement but now am getting this alert box:Script C:\WINDOWS\system32\regedit.sys
Line 5
Char: 121606
Error: Unterminated string constant
Code: 800A0409
Source: Microsoft VBScript Compilation Error
This pops up on start up or when I try to open System Restore.
Two different antivirus programs incl. the paid Kaspersky version find nothing.

I am a photographer and have so much work related stuff on my PC that I fear living on the edge without System Restore. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For the past day or two, I have been seeing command prompt popup windows when I login to Windows XP. I ran a full scan with AVG anti-virus (free) and it moved the following Infection to its virus vault:

Trojan horse Downloader.Zlob.AQXA C:\Documents and Settings\Jacob & Jamie\Local Settings\Application Data\tckihf\nvyvsftav.exe
f.y.i. "Jacob & Jamie" (referenced above) are my 10yr-old twin boys. They downloaded a game called Wizard 101 the night before the virus, popup, and script errors appeared, so I uninstalled the game.
I rebooted and still the command prompt popup window appeared, this time followed by a script error.
(I can attach a printscreen of the lengthy script error, if you need to see it).

I also ran Ad-Aware but it detected nothing. I got a few more script errors when browsing the Internet.
Please advise how to get my computer back to normal--I need it for school & work. Thank you! ~Melinda

Hi,

I'm using Windows XP SP2 with IE 7. Because this is a testing machine (for automated tests), I can't upgrade IE. I want to eliminate script debugging errors, but they keep popping up, even though I've gone into Tools -> Options - Advanced and unchecked

Display a notification about every script error

These options are checked:

Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)
Disable script debugging (Other)

What else do I need to check? Thanks, - Dave

A:Getting script debugging errors even though I disabled script debugging

Just in case you didn't do it, check and uncheck Display etc., then be sure to hit OK and close the browser. Reopen and let's see what happens. Also go to this MS site: Cannot Disable Script Debugging in Internet Explorer.

Hi,

I'm currently stuck with a strange problem occurring only with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

We use a Bluecoat Proxy appliance but it may be the same with other proxies using web filtering.
Actually, on a Windows 7 with IE11 installed, when a user browse an Internet page trying to open a denied website in an iframe, we receive the custom websense page hosted on our Intranet telling that this is not allowed without problem.
When testing the same site with Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, Internet Explorer is asking the user's credentials to display the custom page in the iframe. When clicking on Cancel, I have a 401 error in the iframe, when entering the credentials, I receive the
custom page.
The Windows 7, WIndows 8.1 and Windows 10 are using the same GPO.
Any idea ?

A new security setting in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 has been causing problems with requests between iframe and parent. There is a security setting in the Internet options called "Navigate sub-frames across different domains", which in IE6 was set to "Enabled" under Medium security, but is set to "Disabled" in IE7 by default.
Is there any work around where we can enable this setting in IE 7 and allow access to cross domain scripts.

Thanks
