G470 Display with extreme low brightness

Q: G470 Display with extreme low brightness

Hi!I'm having this problem.. mi G470 is showing video without almost any bright. I thought that the LED display was wrong so I replaced it, but the problem persists. Somewhere I read that there is a fuse on the motherboard that gives power to the display. Is this correct? Does anyone knows anything about this? (Windows starts normally, ?I can even login...)Any clue will help! Thanks!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:G470 - Bluetooth not working after installing Windows 10 on G470

Hi ashu2000 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Checking on the Lenovo supported systems list for Windows 10 Upgrade ,  "not listed, it hasn?t been tested for Windows 10 upgrade and is not supported. " for the G570 .
Same reasons why on the support site , drivers for windows 10 is not available.
There are claims that it works ok but some have reported devices and apps not working after the upgrade.
You may check related threads here .
Would there be any yellow or black down arrow marks on the device manager .
If that is the case , then you may want to try checking the hardware ID to download specific driver directly from the manufacturer if the Windows 8.1 version driver would not help.
Example for Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver or use windows updates to install appropriate drivers
On device manager , you may also use built in drivers in Windows 10  doing upgrade drivers and, browse on this pc , let me pick option, and choose recommended ones on the list .
Hope this helps.

My sister used my computer (windows 7), and now it is extremely bright. She was changing the wallpaper when this happened. Any idea how to fix this? My computer monitor is a Samsugn SyncMaster B2330HD. I'm using a Dell.

A:Extreme Brightness

Try this:

Go to start/control panel/Display:
On the left hand side of the display page, click "Calibrate Color" and follow the instructions.

I have done this with my Samsung monitor, and now have a superb picture, with all the values adjusted as per the calibration wizard.

Of course, there is also the monitor's OSD (On Screen Display) menu that you can use to the same effect - the user manual for the monitor will provide information on how to access the OSD.

Good Luck.

I recently purchased an X1 Extreme. I am a developer and only use Linux. I updated the BIOS to latest (1.12), installed Fedora 28, updated the NVidia driver to the lastet. I have had zero luck trying to get brightness control working (the brightness appears stuck at max). The system runs hot and worst of all the "suspend" does not work when the lid is closed which means that the laptop is useless. I've tried almost everything that I can find to solve these issues. My grub command line is: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="resume=/dev/mapper/fedora-swap rd.lvm.lv=fedora/root rd.lvm.lv=fedora/swap rhgb quiet rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau mem_sleep_default=deep acpi.ec_no_wakeup=1 thinkpad-acpi.brightness_enable=1" I also upgraded to Fedora 29 beta and latest kernel:Linux extreme 4.18.13-300.fc29.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Oct 10 17:22:50 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linuxto see if that would solve anything, but it only succeeded in making booting almost impossible, It only seems to work if I boot into single user mode and then exit out. Does anyone have this solved or know if there is a solution?

I have an M1330 with the Intel graphics and the LED backlit display. I'm running Windows Seven RC1. I cannot adjust the brightness of the display at all in Windows Seven - it doesn't matter if I use the FN+Up / FN+Down keys, the brightness option slider bar in Windows, or adjust it in bios. The back light is either at 100% brightness, or it's off completely.
Anybody know of a fix for this?

A:Why can't I adjust the display brightness on my M1330? (using Win7 & LED backlit display)

This is a beta operating system - presumably the problem will be fixed before late October when WIn 7 is released.  For now, you cannot expect a manufacturer to support an OS that has yet to be released.

Best anyone can say for those settings is whatever is the most comfortable and looks best to you. No two monitors will look the same, and what someone else uses can and will in most cases be totally inappropriate for you.

You can make the adjustments using the settings in the CCC, or you can uses the controls built in to the monitor and run through Windows display calibration wizard,

How can I adjust the display brightness in XP? On battery power, the display automatically dims. I want the display to stay at a constant brightness when on battery or on AC power.

When plugged in, my aging laptop's LCD brightens, however it seems as if the power supply cannot handle the increased load, so there is a very annoying flicker; it gets dim, then bright, over and over. Could this be an inverter problem or the backlight or the power supply, or any combination. This is an HP, for anyone has any experience with HP laptops.

I have a T500, with the latest updates from Lenovo and Microsoft.  It's running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit. When I press one of the silver volume buttons above the keyboard (volume up, down, or mute) a black box appears near the bottom of the screen with a speaker icon, and a gray and white bar indicating the level, and white number on the right.  This seems to work correctly, and the buttons make the number go up and down, and white bar grow and shrink as expected.  Similarly, the Brightness (Fn-Home and Fn-End) make a similar box appear, which also seems to work correctly. The problem is that after I've done this, the black box does not go away, and it obscures that area of the screen.  I expect it to stick around a couple seconds after I've pressed the buttons.  But it is still sticking around HOURS after I've pressed the buttons.  If I Lock the computer (using Windows-L) the lock screen does not show the black box, but when I unlock it, the black box is there again.  This seems to happen every time I've used either the volume or brighness buttons.  The only way I've found to make it go away is to restart the computer. This is a new problem, and I suspect related to a recent update.  I've only noticed the problem in the last 2 weeks, and am quite sure I've used the volume keys before without this problem (actually, I seem to remember not a black box, but green bars and a number appearing on the scree... Hi there, i have just upgraded my Samsung R510 Laptop from vista home premium to windows 7. After i had done this i thought everything was briliant (Alot better than vista). However i realised a few problems had occured. Firstly my mouse had no scroling function which i resolved downloading the Synaptics Touch pad drivers, then the volume indicator wasn't showing, which i have resoved also. however i cannot seem to locate a solution to the brightness display indicator missing.
By this i mean when i attempt to adjust the brightness of the screen by holding FN and Left or Right arrow, nothing happens. Before i updated, an on screen indicator came on the screen showing me if i was decreasing or increasing the brightness, now nothing??? Any ideas. Sorry if this is a noobie mistake. Many thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

Check to make sure you've updated all your drivers to their respective Windows 7-compatible counterparts, so head over to where you originally downloaded the updated drivers for your touchpad (presumably the Samsung website somewhere) and see if there's anything there that can help.

Hope this helps.

Hi: Did you install the amd graphics driver?  Not having the graphics driver installed is normally the reason for that problem. This package provides the AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control Center for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. For notebooks with switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units (GPUs). Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power-saving graphics mode (normally used under battery power) and a high-performance graphics mode. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver. http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71253.exe

A:Tecra W50-A-114 - blinking display - brightness go up and down

I guess the display brightness level changes no matter if the notebook is connected to the AC adaptor or battery mode? Is this correct?

Usually the function keys FN + F7 and FN + F8 increases and decreases the computers brightness.
But I don?t think that theses function could be related to your issue.

To me it sounds a little bit like display panel hardware problem? but this is only my personal opinion?

Every time I restart my laptop (this includes sleep/wake up) the brightness level of the display is restored to an "unknown" value (always the same, though). I have tried changing all brightness level settings in all power plans, I disabled the adaptive brightness in advanced power settings - and some other values there - but to no avail. When the laptop restarts/wakes up it stays a few seconds at the desired level, then it drops back to the same value (always 49%). After this, If I manually change the brightness level, it stays only until the next restart/wake up.

I recently upgraded from WIN98SE to WINXP. Before the upgrade I used to go into my Display settings to adjust the brightness on my monitor through the video card, but now through XP I cannot find that function. My video card is a Nvidia Riva TNT2 64MB card. I have a brightness adjustment in the monitor settings, but that is already adjusted at 100% and I need to adjust up a little bit more. Does that make sense? Does someone know where I can find this now that I am on XP?

A:Adjusting Brightness in Display Driver

Uninstall your NVidia display adapter. Run one of these to be sure all the driver files are removed: Driver Cleaner Professional or Nasty File Remover.

Then, install the most recent driver:

You'll find color, brightness, gamma adjustments in the advanced display properties and a separate adjustment for DirectX overlays, such as video player windows.

This might be nothing, but recently the buttons to adjust my brightness were not working at all on my Lenovo Yoga 710. It might have been the update to Windows 10 but I'm not sure. I don't think the laatest update was that recent and this issue is a more recent problem. I tried this: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-710-11ikb/solution... I updated my driver like it's suggested at the bottom of the page. So far it's been okay. The buttons work, although I noticed that on my most recent reboot they stopped working but this was fixed by disabling and then enabling again the Generic PnP Monitor. I'm not sure if this will become a permanent issue yet. However, I noticed that when I press the button to dim my display all the way down, it turns off my screen. The computer is still on but my display is totally black. I'm quite certain that it didn't do this before. Is it supposed to do this or am I worried about nothing? It turns back on once I press the button to increase the brightness.

Hey guys, so I upgraded to Windows 10 which caused the computer to automatically update my drivers and what not on July 29th, and here I am with a brightness adjustment that does not work whatsoever. Pretty much, whenever I press the less/more brightness buttons on my keyboard, the display will show the brightness gauge going up/down but the actual screen brightness remains constant. Yet, when I roll back the driver it manages to allow my brightness adjustment to function again, but my second monitor will not connect even though it is plugged in via HDMI. Obviously attempting to get my old Windows 8 driver will do me no good since this laptop is no longer a Windows 8. I'm pretty stumped here, especially since I'm not the best with the complex side of computers, I'd just like my brightness adjustment to work again while maintaining/keeping everything else Thank you in advance for your help

Hello sevenforums.
First of all, I know there are a lot of threads not only here but on the internet, and mind you I've seen most of them and tried some of the solutions:
1) I disabled "Automatic Display Brightness" for absolutely all Power Plans in Intel? HD Graphics Control Panel.
2) I disabled "Display Power Saving Technology" in Intel? HD Graphics Control Panel.
3) I disabled "Enable adaptive brightness" for all Power Plans and for both On Battery and Plugged In
4) I tried creating my own Power Plan as suggested on these forums I think, but that didn't work as well.
5) I tried disabling "Adaptive Brightness" from running "services.msc".
6) I tried uninstalling Intel? HD Graphics Driver, and it works even with driver uninstalled.

Nothing worked so far. Additionally, this happens only when I work from the battery on my laptop. When I plug it in, it stops. I remember it happened before, but the option 1) I listed above helped me back then, now it doesn't.
Please help me as not only the brightness is driving me crazy, but the fact that all the solutions seem not to work.

I often change power plan or (dis)connect the power cord depending on what I do with my laptop and where I am. Every time I do so, the display brightness changes into whatever it was last time I had the same power plan and AC power status.

The display brightness has nothing to do with those settings. I adjust it manually to what I feel comfortable with in the current environment, and it's frustrating having it changed by some automatic setting that gets it wrong every time.

I'm in a dark room, getting ready to watch a movie or something, everything set perfectly. Oh right, the power cord. Boom, instant 20% to 100% flash that kills my eyes. Thanks Microsoft...

How do I disable this automatic adjusting and get full control over the brightness?

A:How to disable automatic display brightness?

Hello and welcome to the board.

The "automatic adjusting" is triggered by the Adaptive Brightness Service which
"Monitors ambient light sensors to detect changes in ambient light and adjust the
display brightness. If this service is stopped or disabled, the display brightness will
not adapt to lighting conditions."

So, disabling the service will prevent the auto-adjustment and resolve your frustration.

Start > Run. Type 'services.msc' (without the quotes) and hit Enter.

Right-click on 'Adaptive Brightness' and select Properties. Set the start-up type to: Disabled.

Hi, I don't know what a 'brightness bar' is, I'm afraid- perhaps you could explain how you normally make that appear?

Would you be interested in being able to control the brightness by, e.g, holding down the CTRL key and the scroll button on your mouse? This (and volume too) can be done with a small freeware program called Volumouse.

You can choose key combinations to do this to suit yourself.

Everything on the computer seems to work normally, but I would like to be able to brighten the screen some. It appears stuck at a low intensity (all controls indicate 100% brightness).
Thanks fo all...
