Quickbooks Pro 2008 Customer Center

Q: Quickbooks Pro 2008 Customer Center

Hello,

Using Quickbooks Pro 2008, in the customer center I have successfully imported over 400 customers from Excel. The issue I am currently having is that now the customers are being listed alphabetically by first name. So the display of list of customers is First Name, Last Name. How can I change this so that it is Last Name, First Name?

It would be a lot easier looking up a customer by using their last name.

Thanks!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

1. Do you have Outlook working on your computer? If not, save the statement as a PDF file and email it manually to the client.

2. You need to enter the amount received in the receive payment screen and not the deposit screen.

Hello guys,

i have an SBS2003 server thats running quickbooks pro 2008

and i have 3 workstations connecting to it
all was working fine

then about a week ago we started to get disconnection errors on all the workstations.

i got a small 5 port ethernet switch and connected all workstations and the server into that, but its the same thing.

i ran a ping from the server to a workstation with the -t switch and never saw once a drop in connection.

the broadband connection is having an issue where it disconnects every few minutes to 1 hour...but i dont think this is related as when i turn off the modem i still have the problem.

what im going to try:

im going to run a chkdsk on the server
reinstall the network card drivers on the server and setup tcp/ip settings again.
run a malware scan on the server

then tomorrow i will see if i can run a repair on the company file of quickbooks
after a backup

apart from that what else can i try, any info at this point would be like gold

im not asking for anybody to solve the problem, its more of a "where should i be looking" type of thing.

thanks

OK. Here's my problem. My eMachine up and died on me and I had it replaced with a Dell. The guy who sold it to me transferred most of the data from my old hard drive to the new PC. But I can't find my QuickBooks . I am using Simple Start 08 downloaded from the Intuit site.

I tried to download it again but I was given a message that the file already existed in my C drive (?) and did I want to overwrite it? Do I want to do this?

I also stumbled across QB File Recovery 1.0 while trying to look for solutions on the web. Is this something I want to use?

Also on my wife's desktop, there is an icon with my company name on it. When I try to "run" it I get an error and a code that I am supposed to give to Intuit support if I decide to contact them. The code is xxxxxxxx

Any assistance in helping me recover my files is appreciated. But please, I am not super computer literate so talk down to me.

Update on my prob. Since I've been to 4 forums with no one being able to resolve this I decided to re-install QBSS 2008.
When I got to the "file exists/overwrite?" prompt I said yes to all. I was told that I had to uninstall the existing QB file by going to ADD/REMOVE in the control panel. I've done this before so I'm good here. However, there is NO icon for QB or Intuit. Nothing. So how do I remove a program that I can't even access from the CONTROL PANEL?

Hello,

Yesterday I was trying to repair a friends computer that had a possible infection of PC Protection Center 2008. Let me list the basic details of what I see occuring.

Wallpaper on desktop was hijacked and set to a active desktop wallpaper displaying a blue and yellow advertisement that says the following, "Your computer has several fatal errors due to spyware activity". Along with "Update your anti-spyware protection".

Then there are the traditional balloons in the lower right hand corner saying there's an infection with the exclamation point warning sign. Then with a about 3 minutes it opens a Window asking to install PC Protection Center 2008.

I tried booting into Safe Mode and the infection prevents me from doing so. It just sits at the black screen with the Safe Mode text border. I tried the Diagnostics boot and the infection didn't like that either. The virus/malware still loaded and it messed with Windows Genuine Advantage. Windows now thinks that the hardware drastically change and we now have 3 days to verify the copy Windows. Trying to Verify it again just results in it saying there's an Active X issue and that it can't.

I also tried accessing TaskManager to see if the process was running but it disabled my ability to access TaskManager saying the Administrator disabled it even though I was on a Administrator account. So instead I tried Proc Explorer but I couldn't find anything in there that was suspicious.

HI Guys.

I have been trying to repair a friends laptop which is XP SP2.
I do not pretent to be an expert at antivirus and malware, but I have few clues, and tried to remove most of the infections for my friend.
I removed NOD32 anti-virus from the machine, as it was 2006, and would not update automatically. (not without some extra cash $$$)
I then downloaded AVG 8.0 free and installed. After running it, some 32 potencial virus infections were removed.
I installed spybot 1.6 and ad-aware 2008 and updated defs, then ran these as well.
I nailed most of the spyware and malware, but this 'PC Protection Center 2008' was stubborn, and was mutating and spawning all the time.
SpyDoctor 6.0 was useless, and came up with "Spydoctor cannot operate in this environment and needs to close"
Spyhunter was also a great tool, but although it found the infection, would not remove it without some more cash $$$.
I removed both of these.
Finally I found Malwarebytes anti-malware, which found the infection and removed it for free.!!! At least I think so.
I then ran CCleaner and a couple of others and hope I have nailed the problem infections once and for all.
I have followed the 5 step thing, and have run the panda anti-virus scan.
Another computer friend told me about this "HiJackThis" program.
So I would really appreciate it if someone could run their eye over the log report and tell me if I am clean here.

Okay, so all I did was move the quickbooks workbook file from my local hard disk drive, to the network attached storage drive, and now I suddenly can't log in.

More specifically, the limited username and password works, but I set that up AFTER moving the file...

Unfortunately, this is a limited user, so it cannot access everything... otherwise there wouldn't really be much of a problem.

So my question is, did I accidentally lose some file or something when I moved the quickbooks workbook file? Or is this some sort of horrible malfunction? I'm really not familiar with the software and have little to no understanding of it's permissions and how it stores it's different 'users' for each workbook, etc.

I'm about 2 minutes away from panicking here, because this quickbooks file is quite important, and we need to get back into it.

Since you're running an older version of QuickBooks, it may not support it natively. Have a read here, and then try updating QuickBooks to see if they've patched it to include the option for exporting to QuickBooks Online. If that doesn't work, follow their options for downloading a trial version which will allow you to do the export.

Of course, before you do anything, ensure you do backups, backups, backups of your important data, and also save them offline on a flash drive, external HDD, or some other medium.

In May I purchased an expensive HP Pavilion 27st All In One desktop computer along with the HP 2 year 3 day on site response customer care package. It has been about three months since the computer arrived and it broke. I called HP Customer Care and tech support to request an on-site visit. Instead I ended up talking to four different technicians, unfortunately I could barely understand their accents, but for hours they tried to no avail to work me through a fix. I asked each one to schedule on site service and each time I received a lame excuse why they couldn't do that. The last tech support t person was a supervisor. When I asked her why I can't get on site tech support she said she couldn't hear me could I repeat the question. This was after having a 15 minute conversation where there  was no issue with hearing each other. So I started to repeat the question as to why can't I get on site service and the line was cut off, hung up. She had my phone number but no call back. She hung up on me instead of answering my question. HP promises customer care, you pay for on site service. I spent close to $2000.00 on  this computer and on site care  package. Okay, this one is a doozy. We had our storage server OS drive crash on our domain which required a reinstall. Luckily the data stores were all there still on a separate RAID, so it was just a matter of redoing the shares after the reinstall. However
we ran into a problem with several laptop users.

As soon as they plugged into the network today, all the work they did during the outage appears to be gone. They appear only to have access to the files on the network (which of course isn't current). As a test, I've tried disconnecting them from

I've attempted a sync in Sync Center but it simply says "Sync Pending" and hangs there.

When I try to navigate to view my offline files on the system through the Sync Center interface, it says "The system cannot find the file specified."

Out of curiosity, I tried manually navigating to Windows\CSC and access is denied. Even when attempting to take ownership as local admin, it still doesn't want to let me in.

As many of the solutions suggest, I know I could delete the cache and format the db and sync fresh from our network, but they will lose out on all the changes they've made to their documents over the past week or so. They may lose out on a significant
amount of work.

Any ideas on what to do? I read about an alternati... Read more

Hello,
In the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) there is a test for event tracing (#V31026).
The STIG indicates that if you are running Win 2008 the absence of etwenable = false is not a 'finding' because event tracing is enabled by default (on 2008 servers) and it should be enabled and running.
Is this the same for windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Server?
I cannot find the element etwenable in my 2008 R2 Enterprise server test system, it does not exist.
Does that mean the requirement for the STIG is met, and event tracing IS enabled by default on Win 2008 R2 Enterprise Servers?  No further action is required to enable?

Is there an easy way to verify it actually is enabled?  Check registry value, run script?

Excerpt from the STIG:
Microsoft Dot Net Framework 4.0 STIG
Rule Title:  Event tracing for Windows (ETW) for Common Language Runtime events must be enabled.
STIG ID: APPNET0067  Rule ID: SV-41075r1_rule
Vuln ID: V-31026
Severity: CAT II Class: Unclass
NOTE:
Beginning with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, ETW Tracing is enabled by default and the "etwEnable" setting is not required in order for Event Tracing to be enabled.
An etwEnable setting of "true" IS required in earlier versions of Windows as ETW is disabled by default.
Thank you,
V/R

I have tried to stop this spyware xp2008 with no sucess. It has stopped me from doing anything on my computer. I have Spywear Doctor that took me 10 hours to run. It found 6 trojans and delted them but now I still get a sign saying that I have MalwareProtector 2008. A website told me to download mbam-setup. There is no way for me to get into "my computer" from "start". I did download it but now I can't open it to run it. When I click on my "start" button now, all programs are missing.

When I turn off the computer and power it on again, this is the message - RUNDLL Error loading C:\WINDOWS\system32\oljqvcfu.dll. Next line says The specified module could not be found.

Please help.

Hello, my wife was downloading a "David Cook Video" from some unknown website. She screamed when all of these pop-ups came up. I closed them out and ran AVG 8. It was unable to remove the virus. Then the desktop went blue and the system kept trying to restart but could not, another blue screen came up with white text. I was able to restart in safe mode. I have 2 new items on my desktop XP antivirus 2008 and Malware Protector 2008. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have posted my System Scanner file below and will attach my Active Scan and Extra.txt file.

While I'm still stabilising the overclock on my PC, can I ask if anyone has installed Visual Studio 2008 & SQL Server 2008 on Windows 7 x64 7600? If you do get any hiccups during install but manage to install it, does it run alright? Any problems? I'm interested in C# and ASP.NET development only. Thanks.

These are just a few things that were found on my computer, have no idea how it got so out of control.
I worked all day trying to get rid of all of these and finally succeeded by running and updating antivirus/Spyware detector and then rebooting in safe mode, while doing this many times I recieved "blue screen" and sometimes it was fake and sometimes it was real, if I pressed ESC I knew it was a fake screen.
Eventually it let me stay on long enough to get rid of everything
But I'm still getting the FAKE blue screen so could someone take a look at my highjackthis log please

Help me please!I've had this virus for around a week or so.I'm not really sure if this is a virus or a malware. The symptoms of this virus are:-Two strange icons appear, one blue shield and one green shield, having the names of "Online Security Center" and "Live Safety Center" that "refresh" and reinstall themselves even though I have deleted them.-Irregular Pop-Ups that say I have a virus infection on my computer that come and go at least every ten minutes when I really don't.-A flashing caution sign on the toolbar.-Slowing internet.I have the programs, "Spyware Terminator", "SmitfraudFix" and "AVG Anti-Spyware" but I don't know how to use them respectively in this situation. This all started after I deleted Internet Explorer, yet all these InterNet Explorer Pop-Ups kept on coming, all saying that my "computer had a virus, download this program."I can't even DOWNLOAD anything! Please help, and put step-by-step instruction on how to delete them!
