Dell E6420 XFR Compatible Bluetooth Card?

Q: Dell E6420 XFR Compatible Bluetooth Card?

Hello, I have a Dell E6420 XFR and am looking to install Bluetooth into the unit. From what I can tell I can't have both Cellular and Bluetooth installed in the unit at the same time and as of now I have cellular installed. Is there a chip compatible with the XFR for Bluetooth? I would like to switch Cellular for Bluetooth.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey I recently bought a Dell E6420 XFR with Wi-Fi & Cellular but with no Bluetooth. From what I can tell I can't have a cellular and Bluetooth module in the machine at once is this true? And does any one know what  kind/model is compatible with the E6420 XFR? Any help  would be greatly appreciated!

My bluetooth keyboards and mice randomly disconnect often.  My headset audio loses sync with video. Other times audio is fine but video lags to a crawl but immediately fixes once my bluetooth device is disconnected. I've tried updating drivers..etc and can't seem to solve the problem. I'd rather just buy a new card and see if that solves everything. Can someone please recommend a great card that would be compatible with my computer. 802.11ac preferably
Dell XPS 8700, Windows 10

A:Can someone recommend a compatible bluetooth card for XPS 8700

I would add a PCIe adapter card with antennas on the back: like this:
search ebay for this "wireless mini pcie to pcie adapter" and you'll find several for about $10 USD.
and then add in a mini pcie card of your choosing: I think I'd choose this one:
intel dual band wireless-ac 7260HMW WiFi+Bluetooth 4.0 PCIe Half Mini Wifi Card
New on ebay for about $25 USD.
I'd expect drivers from Intel would work without any issues, but Windoze 10 will take care of the drivers anyway weather you like it or not.

Hi guys,

For my Dell Dimension 3100 Desktop. IT has one PCI-E x1 slot.

However, after i set up and install all the required software and driver. My monitor shows a black screen.

Does it mean that my desktop is not compatible to my newly bought graphic card?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what kind of Graphics Card I could get for my new Dell computer... I didn't realize when I got it (A week ago) but the graphics card pretty much sucks. The windows rating for my display and gaming are 1.0-- The lowest! So, I figure I may as well get a new card now and get that all fixed. My range is $100-$200, but would much rather it not go over $150 if its possible to get a good one at that price. I don't play many games, but I do use photoshop intensely, play movies, have numerous programs running at the same time, and I use a 24-inch UltraHighDef screen.

My current specs are:
-Studio XPS 8100, Intel Core i7-860 processor(8MB Cache, 2.80GHz)
-6GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz-2X2GB/2x1GB
-nVIDIA GeForce G310 512MB DDR3
-750GB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive 7200 RPM

I asked Dell about putting a new graphics card and what kind would be compatible, but when I looked up the ones he said, I wasnt sure if I could buy them outside of Dell and get the same ones they were selling that he was telling me about. I looked them up on newegg. Here are the ones he said would be compatible at around the $150-$200 range.
$159 - ATI Radeon HD 2600xt 512mb
$205 - GeForce GTS 250 1GB DDR3

When I typed that into newegg I found that there were different kinds of manufacturers for those specs, so I wasn't sure if it mattered what I got.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Need Compatible Graphics Card for New Dell

just remember that if you install a different card, you well invalidate your warranty..

personally I've never worried about such things, but some people take warranties very seriously..

- if you fill in your system specs fully, we would have a better idea of what your current system will take..

- some of the more advanced cards may well need a beefier PSU, for example..

My fiancee and I currently have the Dell Inspiron 17R SE laptop with the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230, and it has worked for a few months now up until the Monday of last week. While on the internet, my fiancee was noticing her wifi speed slowed down to a crawl. She performed speed tests to find out that the speed was not as high as it used to be. She updated drivers for the computer, as well as removed any clutter that would cause the wifi slowdown.
When we tried many options, they did not give us the results that we were looking for. Finally, after some process of elimination, we concluded that our wifi card needed a replacement. I don't want to get any old card to use and then find out that it doesn't fit or is not compatible with Windows 10. I have been taking my time to research what could be compatible to improve my laptop computer, but I have been coming up short.

What I would like to know is what wifi cards are compatible with our Dell computer so that we can get this replaced as soon as possible without having to pay out the nose for unneeded computer repair?

Hi Folks,
I would be most grateful if anyone could help with the following:
I have a DELL 9200 Dimension series desktop pc which has an ATI Radeon X1300 Pro video card installed.
I upgraded from Win XP to Win 7 x64 a few years ago and my X1300 is working fine.
Most info on the web suggests that the X1300 card is not compatible with Win 10.
I'm now trying to get ready to upgrade to Win 10.
However, my mobo PCIe is only level 1.1 and most new graphics cards are PCI 2.0 or greater.so I need to find a PCIe graphics card which is advanced enough to be compatible with Win 10 but old enough or backward compatible right back to PCIe v 1.1
If anybody has already solved this issue I would love to know which card was used.
All help appreciated.

Am I correct in understanding that the current PSU in the 5150 is a 305w PSU?

Audio card for Dell Dimension 8300 compatible with Windows 7?

Hello everybody! Fresh member, and glad to be here !

Lemme start with a problem I am hoping somebody here can help me with :

Last weekend I upgraded my Dell Dimension 8300 to Windows 7. After some work, finally I am left with just one compatibility issue : it came with the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio card, and I am unable to find drivers for it that work with Windows 7.

I searched online, and found a few others have hit this problem and even suggested solutions, which didn't work for me. I am guessing I will simply have to bite the bullet and buy a replacement audio card?

Problem is, how do I make sure that an Audio card is compatible with both the hardware (Dell Dimension 8300) and the software (Win 7)?

I am not a gamer, so am not looking for the best-of-the-best; just something that allow me to play songs and video.

And yes, the 'integrated' in the existing card's name - does it mean I cannot remove it? or it is integrated with something else (video card)? Will that be an issue?

- radhak

A:Video card for Dell Dimension 8300 compatible with Windows 7?

you can try DriverEasy and see if it finds any working drivers(?) it was recommended to me also here on TechSpot so now I pass it on for me it works really good, the only down side with the free version of the program is that the download is really slow (limited to 8-20kbps).

Do you mean you want to remove the integrated wound card? -basically everything that is "integrated" can be disabled (in the bios) but not removed. If you get an other sound card and install it then most likely the bios will automatically disable the integrated sound card.

A:Is the ATI Radeon 9550 / X1050 graphics card compatible with a Dell Vostro 200?

If the card will fit in the box it'll probably work for you. When I looked up Dell Vostro 200 they were built into two kinds of cases. There was one type built in a slim case and the other type built in a mini case. The mini case is much wider than the slim case. It looks like both types of cases sport motherboards with X16 PCI-E slots for adding an aftermarket video card. Trouble will arise if your 9550/X1050 video card has an AGP connector instead of a PCI-E connector, or you have a full size video card and a slim case.

How To Find Drivers:

- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Had a little...incident...with the laptop. It got dropped..pretty hard..drunk sibling...fight...dont wanna discuus it really...
Took it apart, like I did a couple months ago to replace the motherboard...the wireless card was/is loose, and the bluetooth card fell out. Tightened up the wireless card, but dont know where the bluetooth card goes?
I turned on the laptop before taking it apart after the "incedent" to see what worked, if anything. It started up fine, well, it sounded fine...but I couldnt see anything. Took a closer look with the lights off and could barely see the screen. Was real dark, but there. I do have some vertical lines running thru the screen, so thats getting replaced soon anyways.
So...where do I plug in the bluetooth card, and whats the deal with the monitor? Loose connection? Completely shot? What can I look for in terms of loose connections etc as I put this back together? Any other tips or help? Thanks a lot.

So I have a Dell Latitude E6420 with the following specs :16 GB RAM
i7 2720QM @2.2-3 GHz
Nvidia Quadro NVS 4200m
According to Nvidia control panel, I have a total of 2.5 GB of graphics memory / video memory (vram).
My question is, is it possible to somehow modify the amount of dedicated memory as there's only .5 gb of dedicated vram which cannot run games. Although some benchmarks show it can run some graphical games like Grand Theft Auto V at 53 fps, I want to know how to increase the vram as they have done these benchmarks with 1 gb of Vram which I cant even reach. Im aiming to atleast go for 2 GB if I could and then overclock the card a bit.Thanks.

No - there is no way to manually alter the VRAM settings.

I bought Dell Latitude E6420 few months ago.
It had a severe problem of freezing (I believe it was due to too much CPU Usage since I upgraded to Windows 10 and was using chrome), and I wasn't even able to move my mouse. It happened frequently and it never unfroze
Now what's happening is that it freezes when I'm not even working on anything, and while I am able to move my mouse, nothing really happens. I press windows button yet the windows tab doesn't come out. I can't access to folders or anything.
I thought it may have been SSD problem so I bought another one, but the screws are stripped and I'm not sure how to unscrew them without damaging anything.
Any guess on what's going on and what I can do to fix my computer?

A:Dell Latitude E6420 Freezing

Hello and good afternoon
Considering that you purchased it used it is hard to determine what, if any, hardware has issues. Have you ran Diagnostics?
It is doubtful that everything will pass with your issue so write down the error codes, if any, and post them.
Another option is to restart and when you get the "splash screen" begin tapping the F8 key and your display will offer several options. Arrow down and Chose "Last Known Good" then push the Enter Key and see what happens. Last known good resets the system to when all of the settings worked.
The screws just hold a cover for the SSD so you will not damage it if you are careful. Perhaps you should reinstall the other SSD and then run Diagnostics.
The aforementioned suggestions are a "stab in the dark." However, we never know.

After i did full diagnostic, i also did an BIOS update (just to be sure) to A21 but no change.
Did anyone have experiences with this?

Dell does not have any windows 10 drivers for your model. You are stuck with generic win 10 drivers from MS or the old Dell drivers. A:Dell Latitude E6420 Wont Boot Into Anything

If you can a boot menu to display, I seriously doubt that the motherboard or CPU are the problem.  Can you boot from a properly prepped USB flash drive?  Do you know how to create one?  I can't remember for certain on the E6420, but I believe the Diagnostics option relies on the Diagnostics partition existing on the hard drive, so if you're only trying to boot that and the hard drive, failures in both of those cases could be explained by a dead hard drive.

Hi guys I am having an issue with my laptop. It was updated using dell drivers and apps that match the service tag and everything was working smoothly until I rebooted today and now a password is requested on the bios screen before I can go any further. I don't have a password on my OS or my bios but this Dell secure manager must have chosen a default one on my behalf. Now I can't get into anything, it won't boot to CD drive or usb it just stays on this bios password screen. I tried nearly everything I could think of. I removed the cmos battery. Tried various possible default passwords and nothing. I don't really want to try shorting the nvram chip, too much could go wrong with powering up a disassembled laptop and even then it might not work. Any help at all would really be appreciated.

A:Latitude E6420 DELL secure manager

Ok update for anyone interested. I was unable to source any help for this and conversations with Dell where non productive. The only safe option I had was to replace the motherboard. So in respect of this option I decided there was nothing to lose in attempting to reset the nvram chip.
The most irritating part is disassembly in the hope that you will detect the chip before complete disassembly is achieved. I found the chips where placed conveniently under the keyboard and are easily accessible. There are 2 x 8 pin winbond chips side by side 25Q16CVsig and 25Q64CVSIG, the one I concentrated on was the 8MB chip 25Q64CVSIG. If you look up the datasheet for the component you will see pins 5 and 6 are signals CLK and Serial Data In, these are the 2 pins we need to short. If you are unsure which pin is which, if you look at the chip you will see a circular impression on the chip face, this is indicating pin1 and the numbers increment in an anti clockwise motion.
First thing I did was reconnect drives and anything that you way have disconnected and then I tested a normal boot to make sure everything was connected correctly and you will notice the Dell secure manager is still appearing. Now reboot and whilst rebooting connect a small wire or loose piece of solder between these 2 pins and the PC should boot up bypassing this password request allowing you to boot into the OS. Delighted this worked first try I wanted to make sure it did not happen again so I opened up dell secure m... Read more

Computer Specs:
Dell Latitude E6420, Intel Core i5 2520M, 2x4GB=8GB RAM, Nvidia NVS 4200M, 250GB HDD, Win 7 Pro 64, Bios A23
Sata Operation set to AHCI and no fast boot. I have 3 of these computers. They are all out of Warranty.
I replaced the original 7mm Hitachi 250GB HDD for the Intel 535 240GB SSD.
I used Acronis True Image 2016 to clone the hdd to the ssd. Cloning process went just fine like on any other computer.

The Issue is that every 4 or 5 cold boots the computer cannot find the SSD. Rebooting the computer solves the issue that time. I have to find a solution. I want to sell them with an SSD and not with a HDD.
Things I have tried:
Updating Bios from A14 to A23.
Putting a 2mm spacer on the SSD and ofcourse reseating the SSD.
Swapping for another Intel 535 120GB and 240GB.
Clean install of windows which I knew was a waste of time as it doesnt affect BIOS not detecting things.
Googling the problem for hours.

Call dell?
Use another brand of SSD? It will probobly not make any difference from looking at other threads.
Use an HDD? Last resort. I cant stand the slowness of regular harddrives.

My Dell e6420 laptop originally Windows 8 with upgrade to Windows 10 worked fine for months after upgrade but recently the touchpad is giving problems. ( Each takes .5 mb and seems dumb having both going) Please advise if I should delete both and start over or how to id and delete the oldest one) Still not sure a new driver was going to fix the problem but I'll cross that bridge if it comes. Also, while thinking of duplicate processes I would like to clean out unecessary ones but don't know how to figure out what is junk and what is not?

I contacted Dell technical support about the issue and after taking the service tag they said that they can not help me because my account is on hold... Which confused me because I never bought the device from Dell, I bought it from Best Buy therefore I do not have an account with Dell, and so I was transferred over to Dell financial services to dispute the issue, but I can not speak to them because the automated bot constantly is asking for an account number. Is there anyway I could receive some sort of help for this? It'd honestly be a great help.

There are many red/pink dot on my screen. You can see it like below. It really annoying when you have video call. If anyone know what is the problem please let me know. Thank you

A:My Dell Latitude E6420 screen problem

I do not see them in the screenshot. Because of that, I believe this is more than likely dead or stuck pixels on the LCD. Contact Dell if you are under warranty and have your LCD replaced. If you are not under warranty and want to resolve the issue you can find an LCD from either Amazon.com or partspeople.com

I am having a heck of a time getting things working on this new to me dell e6420 xfr, dell nor att are of much help.

the info,
fresh install of win 7 64
dw 5800 4g
installed drivers from dell in order they suggest, some drivers would not install saying I didn't have the hardware, not all of this make model have same stuff.

my problem,
It has the built in mobile broadband with sim card.
when I got it, it had a version sim but I have a att data account so I got an att sim and installed it,
att connected everything and I had to change the version APN and it worked and connected but the problems started,
When I went to shut down the laptop it took about 10 mins and flashed a bluescreen with something about driver power,
SFC on reboot showed no issues,
But now mobile broadband would not connect turns out the APN reverted back to the version APN and now changing it to the att APN doesn't help.

So please tech heads help me.....

What's the "service tag" number and/or "express service code" number on yours?

Once it's identified and its support site is accessed, it'll show you what hardware came in it and what Windows 7 64-bit drivers are available for it.
