Q: Sending email

I have moved and just signed up with MSN through Qwest for sending my email. I would still like to use outlook express as well for sending email. I need help on the POP3 addresses

Preferred Solution: Sending email

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I use Outlook for email, from Office 2007 Professional because the accounting program and my Palm Pro PDA likes it.

Just recently I have had a couple of complaints that emails with a video attached I have forwarded have been delivered to the addressee in excess of 30 or 40 times.

The latest was last night when one of my sons said he had received it 104 times, and another friend in the USA 99 times, needless to say both aren't happy, the video was a wmv (3mb).

When my son called me a an hour or so later it was still in my outgoing mail box, obviously because it was still sending.

I have run full AV scan using Esset Nod32 which came up clean, so I’m at a loss where else the problem is or where/what to look for.

Thanks for reading…..Any clues/help would be appreciated.

i have been trying to fix my email/outlook spam issue.  emails are going out WITH my actual email address, sending emails to people in my contacts, etc.
I also have been getting a ton of spam emails myself.
I use:
-Windows 7 Pro
-64 Bit
-Outlook 2010
-I have our own domain name email address, that is hosted by Frontier
Odd thing:  I changed my password for my email, but my outlook kept sending/receiving with the old password.
When I tried to update  the new password in outlook (which I verified by using the webmail versus outlook), it would not accept it.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Intermittently, Outlook 2007 will crash while sending an email and, needless to say, the email is not sent. However I wanted to know if there is a temp or backup copy of that mail anywhere. I've looked in drafts and it's not there.

I've sometimes typed a very long email and then lost the whole email when Outlook crashes so I just wanted to know if, like Word, there is a temp file that may be created.

Hi, and welcome to the board.

- First, set Windows 98 to display three-letter file extensions: Open My Computer, choose View, Folder Options and click the View tab. Deselect the checkmark next to "Hide file extensions for known filetypes." Click OK.

- Click Start, Run, type sendto, and click OK. Windows will open a window titled SendTo.

- Right-click in the SendTo window and select New, Text Document.
Rename the file to Mail Recipient.MAPIMail (copy this exactly).
Close the SendTo window.

Good luck,

Hi there

what email client are you using on both systems, also remember network connections and are you running from SAME computer.

Linux networking in general is superior to Windows but if you are using a decent email client it shouldn't make a huge amount of difference.

Other factors -- what "pre-scans" etc are done by the email client (virus / attachment checking etc), are both set up to use imap / pop3 or going through an Ms Exchange server. Loads of things you need to compare when doing this type of analysis.

Any webmail based client is likely to be hideously slow though when compared with a proper email client on whatever system.

This is just a way of preventing/blocking spam or other intrusive email by creating rules in your email client.Sometimes the rules can be pretty strict and they may not know just how strict they set them.They probably didnt do it on purpose.

Previously i was helped with code to send a static email through outlook express. Which work perfectly in my home network but when I took it to my work network I could not get the emails to send. Here is the code that worked at my network at home:
Public Sub Email()

Dim iMsg As Object
Dim iConf As Object
Dim WBname As String
Set iMsg = CreateObject("CDO.Message")
Set iConf = CreateObject("CDO.Configuration")

With iMsg
Set .Configuration = iConf
.To = "[email protected]"
.CC = ""
.BCC = ""
.From = """test"" <[email protected]>"
.Subject = "test"
.TextBody = "message"
.AddAttachment ""
End With

End Sub
The only major difference that is obvious, is the email at the office requires SPA where as my home network does not. Any thoughts Would be great!

I am having a problem sending email to an AOL address via outlook 2002. I can send to the address using my webmail portal and my yahoo, but not through my outlook. all other emails go out properly.

any ideas?

A:sending email to AOL

Hi, AOL email never did work with Outlook Express, I am not sure about Microsoft Outlook that comes with Office, if that is the Outlook you are meaning....

AOL users could not send mail nor get mail through OE, at least back a few years ago they could not, and if AOL was the service provider....there were some utilities that claimed to circumvent this, but I have not used them, and it seemed difficult to install and set these up, I did not bother with it at all.
(Things might be different with AOL mail these days.)
If you typed up a new mail in OE, and tried to send it, you would get an error message...of course, since there usually would have not been any account set up for POP3 mail in or out, no servers to connect to, and since AOL used different types of mail service, no way to get mail into OE.

Getting a Gmail account, free, might be a quicker solution, Gmail is simply great.

You should check out this: Description of Google's Gmail, how it works, privacy, etc...

And also> , take a look at this, it may be the easiest way to do it>

You do still I think have to be invited to Gmail, so if you know someone who has it, they should have invitations to spare...if you want to try it, let us know, I have invitations.

Does anyone know of a way to turn off the email address in the BCC section of Vista email and show only the names? In XP Windows Express, it only showed the names with a semi-colon between names. I've just gotten my new computer (Vista 64 bit) set up with email contacts. When I send BCCs, it lists the name and the email addresses which makes that section very long.

A:Sending BCC email

Hi, What i have done to aleviate this problem is when adding contacts to the address book, i have listed a display name. So when sending an email it will only display what you have listed. You can edit the contact in address book by selecting the person, right click, properties, it then will enable you to edit this.

Hope this helped

Check under options to see not only what client it uses but what the setting are. If you have OutLook but do not use it, it very well could pointed there instead of OutLook Express.

I checked my email, and my email was sending some type of spam .php link to my contacts, and even to myself. (it sent about 4 emails with about 10 different recipients each email in the sent box) Now these were sent at 3:30 AM when my computer was not even on, so does that mean my computer itself is not infected? This is the first time this has happened and I really hope I don't have some type of virus. I don't believe the emails are spoofed with my email because some of the emails failed to send, and were sent back to me, if they were spoofed would I not get them? And the fact that even in the "from" box it showed my email, I didn't see any signs of spoofing. And how would they get my contacts without signing into my account?

If this could be some type of virus, could someone tell me what to do to remove it, or move this to the malware section or something? I scanned with Norton and Malware Bytes and got nothing.

That is exactly how e-mail spoofing works. Anyone can put any address they want in the outgoing e-mail's "From" header. There is no kind of authentication in place to confirm the accuracy of the senders information.

That just means that the computer used to send the e-mails was not your computer. It is possible that you may have a virus on your computer that allowed a hacker to download your address book. It is also possible that some spammer received an e-mail that was sent to you and some of your contacts (or a forwarded copy of a copy, of a copy, etc.) and harvested any e-mail addresses found in it for future spamming.

I would like to be able to send email to a list of contacts from an office computer.
I am currently using hotmail for this, but would like to know of it is possible to setup an email "server?" with an email address that I could create so I could use my company name instead of hotmail.com

And is there a way to send email to a group without everyone seeing all of the other email address's?

A:Sending email from office.

You need a domain name to allow your company name as the "@company.com" in the email address. They are not free, but not overly expensive.

To send emails to a group, you must use the BCC field in the emails, then each person only sees their own address. Use your own address in the From: field, you get one copy back as confirmation that it is sent.

Hi there!

I'm real stumped here. I have an Excel document setup to find the row where there is an "x" in column N and send an email. I have an Outlook template setup and have the VBA setup to replace words in the template with data in the excel document.

Hi, I am still trying to find out how to send a link in an email without having to list the entire URL. Such as we can do on forums, etc. I am using Windows Mail with Windows Vista Home Premium 64, soon to upgrade to Windows 7.

Example?if I wanted to send a link to aol ionstead of having to list it this way,
www.aol.com, I should be able to list it as just aol and clicking on the link will go right there.

Any suggestions? I get emails like that all the time but can't figure out how to send one.....

Thanks in advance. CR$

Hello CalRed, You should be able to copy & paste the url from your browser and paste it to your cursor blink on the email you are sending.
There is also an option if you right click on the IE browser & select customise then add or remove commands you will find a send link by email option you can add to IE browser
As far as shortening the url i think you can right click on it and select Rename i think this works? you can only try

Can you help?, just sent an email to friends in Canada, & for fun tried to send a cartoon animation, from "My Pictures" but when I opened the attachment in my Sent Messages [Outlook Express] the image was static, no movement.
On an earlier occasion, I sent a short video clip of the Mars Lander [2 or 3 seconds] & it arrived AS an animation
Could seeing it in my Sent Messages, would have appeared static, this end, but arrived OK on receipt?
What I am really saying, I suppose is, am I doing it correctly? I have "Smiley Central", they're OK.

A:Sending animations by email

What sort of a file is it? Outlook doesn't have to support every conceivable animation format. But if the animation plays on your comp and you sent the file intact then it will play on the other side as well.

You can test it out by sending the same thing to yourself.

I can't believe a can't find a solution to this anywhere.

I have my own domain name (MYDOMAIN.COM say). I know that I can forward emails sent to and address at the mydomain.com to any email address. However sending is my problem.

I can use my email client (Outlook 2003) to send using my ISP address, but in the sender field it will say @MYDOMAIN.COM and it works fine.

The problem is that if I am not at home and I want to use the MYDOMAIN.COM address I don't know how to. I can't use my ISP address as described because I need to be on my ISP.

I don't think this can be done using webmail, because that doesn't let you change the sender address (i.e. if you send an email from [email protected] then that will be the sender address and you can't set it to [email protected]).

So what I'm looking for is a POP3 account that I can use to send from any ISP and hence use outlook to change the sender address

Surely people are doing this somehow ???

I have a Yahoo email account and a Cox (Internet Provider) email account. I send & receive a great deal of emails from both. However, I frequently am told that an email I sent did not reach the recipient (from both accounts) + I frequently am asked, "Did you receive my email?" To which I reply, "No." None of my sent messages that do not arrive at their destination are returned or bounced back. They are just "out there" somewhere.

Of course, if someone sends me an email that I don't receive, I don't usually know it. Alternately, if I send one that does not arrive at its destination, I usually don't know that either.

Since I do receive & successfully send so many emails, why are some not being processed properly? At the suggestion of Cox, I uninstalled Zone Alarm & changed from Outlook Express to Incredimail. Neither made any difference. The emails that I do not receive are not always from the same person, & in fact, I might receive one email from a particular individual, but not receive the next one that same person sends. The same applies when I send an email.

Please help!

A:Sending & Receiving email

It would take a book to describe everything. We don't even know what OS and service packs, if any, you have?

Since you send "many" maybe your emails are being "received" as spam by various ISPs and thrown out before the recipient gets them. Maybe the settings on their computers are preventing them from being received. Do you send in Text Only Mode? Are there files embedded? Attachments?

Check all settings in your anti-virus and firewall. Turn off anything that is specifically for scanning email.

If you want to pursue this, you would have to provide detailed information about specific instances. That would include knowing exactly what the sender is using for emails and other programs that might malfunction.

Hello anyone that can help. I have an HP laptop with XP and it was just swiped recently by an ATT tech because I had a virus problem and use ATTUverse. He save what needed alright, but a day later I couldn't send email. I can receive it just not send it or reply to anyone. We went in and checked and unchecked boxes and he still can't fix it. I use outlook express as default. My work email is different and is in Yahoo, but I can check that here, too, but it won't let me send either. the error that comes up is
'Connection to server has failed. Account: 'Home' , Server: 'smtp. att.yahoo.com,' Protocol: SMTP, Port 25, Secure (SSL): No Socket Error: 10060 Error Number 0x800cccoe.
That's it. Everything else seems to be ok at this point. I just can't send or reply to email.
Thank you for any help to fix this.

Hi everybody !

I was looking around to see how to send really big files by email.
Do you have any idea ? It's like 50 or 100mo, so my Gmail account can't handle it. I tried by dropbox, but it's not really effective...

And I don't want to send an usb key by mail ^^.

Thx guys

My cable company is saying that my computer is sending bulk email. I have run Adaware, Spybot S&D, CWShredder, McAfee ,etc. until the system is clean, then I surf the web for a few minutes and run the same programs again and have more infections. There must be some files that the programs are missing. Prior to this post I ran Adaware and Spybot S&D and it came back with no infections. I have included the HJT log file. My cable provider will not allow me to connect to the internet until I have the computer fixed.

Hi all my computer seems to be sending email out on its own to select email addresses. The only reason I know is I get a failure notice that it could not send the email to addresses that no longer exist. I'll copy that failure notice message and my HJT log.

Thanks in advance for any help.
