Server Start up : Error 1053

Q: Server Start up : Error 1053

Hi Guys
Trying to get my file sharing going. Very kindly was given the solution to the missing ServiceDll in registry (thanks again to Shadypac for the article dealing with the same) but now encounter a "can't launch in a timely manner" error 1053 when I try to start it in services.
This is affecting 2 computes in my network.
Now while I'm here - anyone know how to get the link to msi files up? Can't run msi files once I download them - nothing happens>
many thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

We are trying to resolve a problem with a couple of workstations running Windows 7 Pro and connections to dav.box.com.
What I?ve noticed is that the WebClient service is not running nor can we get it to run. When we try to start the service, it comes back almost immediately with an Error 1053.

Our Windows 10 machines do not have this issue, they connect just fine to
https://dav.box.com/dav.

Hi,
We are getting the following error message when we try to start "MS Software Shadow Copy Provider" in Services. (This service is required by Norton Ghost 10 when creating a Back Up (Recovery Point) Image.)

We are having this problem on a Windows XP Home Edition, SP2 computer.

Services
? ?Could not Start the MS Software Shadow Copy Provider Service on Local
Computer. Error 1053: The Service did not Respond to the Start or Control
Request in a Timely Fashion?.

Microsoft KB article 839174 resolution to this problem is to install the latest service pack for the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, service pack 1.
We have this already installed on the computer. We also downloaded and installed framework 2.0 (KB829019) from the Windows Update site.
This doesn't solve the problem.

Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
Thanks

I've searched everywhere and I can find nothing that actually helps.

The problem: The print spooler won't start when my computer comes on or when I try to start it from the services window. I get an error 1053 which says it didn't respond in a "timely fashion."
Steps I have taken (none worked):

1. I reset my computer.
2. I opened Run and did "sfc /scannow" which scanned but nothing seemed to happen.
3. I booted from my XP Installation CD and chose to repair windows (it had recognized that it was damaged). The repair was successful and fixed a few of my other problems but no print spooler.
4. I made sure lexbces worked and ran properly (even thought it wasn't listed as a dependent).
5. I removed all traces of lexbces.
6. I made sure RPC was working.
7. I ran the Microsoft Fixit program for the printer spooler. On light mode it processed but changed nothing. On full mode it "failed to process."
None of these helped at all. The spooler still will not start and I get the exact same error. I can't install my printer and I can't even frigging SCAN (all I actually want to do, I never print) Because photoshop won't make a TWAIN for my printer and when I select WIA Support it says that no WIA devices are connected.

When I right clicked on the service and clicked on Start , I am getting a pop-up with the following error:

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

And the status of the service getting reflected as "Starting" or blank.

okay first thing i must say is that i cant apparently create a regular zip file with the built in windows archive maker so i will have to attach the two logs as just the plain .txt files i apologize for this, however i am assuming that it is preferable to zipping them with winrar

so without further adieu,

okay i got the infamous 6to4vsc32.dll virus and it did what everyone says and kept like redirecting me and what not along with the other random crap that went with that virus, well i had to really chip away at it but i finally deleted it and got it to the point where it would no continue to restore itself i deleted every single trace of it anywhere on my computer, i even made sure to go through the registry and delete all the keys it deleted, well in short it finally went away (i hope) now when we (me and my brother, it is his computer i was working on) thought we had gotten rid of it before all we would do it go to internet and try to go to a site and if it would redirect us we would know that it was still present, well this is where the problem came in.

once i had finally gotten rid of it, i ran unhackme deep scan just to make sure that it didnt find anything, seeing as it was specfially noted for its ability

Hello theomega76,

You have a rootkit onboard, so please stop any further fixing on your end. :)

Go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager any devices with yellow marks need to have drivers installed. Under Network Adapters if you see a yellow mark next to the adapter, and you have a Name brand computer (HP, Dell etc) go to the manufacturers support/download drivers site and type in your service tag# or your make and model# and download the network adapter for your specific computer.

Hello,

Just recently my Intel RST service is not running and when I want to start the service, the process takes too long and then finally a windows appears stating Error 1053 something something message. Btw, my Intel RST is always running but I don't know why it is now not running, it bothers me.

A:Error 1053

that's a Dot Net error, and that cannot be fixed

FIX: You receive an "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" error message when you stop or pause a managed Windows service

You can only do this:

Hit Windows Key + X and Open am Admin Command Prompt, then type in:

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Before you do it though, open control Panel to Programs/windows Features and make sure you have Dot Net 2 and 3 installed, just put a single click in the box, and the box will half-way fill, if it fills all the way you do not want that

Windows 8 used to install dot net 2 and 3 automatically, but 8.1 does not, you have to add it in.

Actually I just realized it is Dot Net 1.1, so you can download that from here:

Download Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 from Official Microsoft Download Center

I don't know if Dot Net 1.1 is included, but you need it, so you should download it. If it is missing, that explains the error 1053

Double-click on it.

Set the Startup Type to Automatic
Click the Start button to start that service.

A:Printer Spooler Problem - error 1053

Hi .Do you have Kodak EasyShare software installed? It seems (to me) that this is probably due to the uninstall of the Lexmark printer...I would go to services (Start//Run...type services.msc and hit Enter or OK).Scroll Down to Print Spooler Service. Double-click on it and click on the Dependencies tab. There should be one item in the first window, Remote Procedures Call (RPC), with nothing in the second window. Verify that this is so, let us know if anything else is listed.Also...see if you have a Lexbces service listed (or anything else starting with lex). You should not, but my personal experiences with Lexmark printers is that they tend to leave this service running after a printer is uninstalled. This causes later problems with the system. If it is listed, follow the instructions for removal at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/L...S.EXE-7634.html.Louis

Hi. I hope I am posting this in the right section. When I start Windows XP, I get the following error message, "Your SQL Server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (Could not open SQLEVN70.RLL) Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem".

I understand that this is because of name change to the computer?? If this is correct, I never changed the name of the computer. I went to the add/remove programs but there is nothing listed that says, "SQL Server". I found a few article across the net about various ways to uninstall certain versions but I don't know what the version is. Any help getting rid of this error message would be greatly appreciated.

A:Start Up Error - Your Sql Server Installation Is Either Corrupt....

Ton's of these errors listed in this Google search: http://www.google.com/search?q=Could+not+o...lient=firefox-aDoes this happen as Windows first starts to boot? If so, it may be that something is calling upon components of SQL Server (and since it's corrupted it won't work). So, the task will be to find out what's doing it.I'd suggest starting with the Event Viewer. Go to Start...Run...and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Look in the System and Application logs for errors around the time that the error occurs.Locating the error about the SQL Server will give us a starting point. That entry may provide us with enough info to figure out what's causing it - or it then becomes a task of reviewing the entries prior to it to see what's causing it.Another way to approach this (presuming that it's a startup error) is to disable some of your startups with msconfig - and then reboot to see if that fixes it. If it does, then it's one of the disabled entries that's causing it. After a bit of trial and error you'll figure out which app is causing it. Then an uninstallation of that app should fix it (and a reinstallation should fix the corruption of the SQL Server elements).

A:Unable to start a DCom server error

Does not appear to be serious. DCOM errors typically mean antivirus software, firewall software, or router settings are not configured/working properly. Are you experiencing any issues with the system?

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
When asked, save the display information in English.
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Create a new folder by right clicking in a blank area within the folder Errors.evtx is saved in. You could also click New Folder at the top of the directory under the directory path box.
Name the new folder Errors.
Place Errors.evtx and the LocaleMetaData folder into the new Errors folder.
Right click the Errors folder -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file here.

Unable to start a DCOM Server: {06622D85-6856-4460-8DE1-A81921B41C4B}. The error:"2"Happened while starting this command:C:\Windows\SysWOW64\DllHost.exe /Processid:{06622D85-6856-4460-8DE1-A81921B41C4B}
Been getting this error for years and can't access certain control panels directly (but can through full control panel) like desktop "personalization" (clicking any links under "See also" in this window does nothing). Control Panel refuses
to show its cascading menu in the Start Menu too.

06622D85-6856-4460-8DE1-A81921B41C4B is COpenControlPanel. I searched for these in the registry editor but couldn't find the command-line used in the error which, if I run in a command prompt,
gives this error:
This version of C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dllhost.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
If I run c:\windows\system32\dllhost.exe /processid:{06622D85-6856-4460-8DE1-A81921B41C4B} it works fine. How do I get DCOM to use the 32-bit dllhost.exe? I've tried the backup 64-bit dllhost.exe in C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-com-surrogate_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_43fa44d954d596e7
but get the same bit-depth conflict error above.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I believe they are Intel drivers but have failed to find a remedy to this problem.
Other than a real slow startup there appears to be no other problem.
Am I the only one with this problem and anybody know the cure?

A:Satellite P200HD-1DV: Event error on startup -Unable to start a DCOM Server

So, you figured out where the problem is but why didn?t you installed another intel graphics drivers? I mean, you know where the problem is and you can resolve it.

Otherwise, if a reinstall does not help it would be better to completely recover your system to eliminate the problem.

I purchased a Netgear Push2TV PTV3000, and updated the firmware, downloaded the latest Intel WiDi, and tried to connect. The search for WiDi adapters found the PTV3000, so I double-clicked to install it. Add a Device ran, but could not find the PTV3000.
Searching the Web I found I needed to insure WiDiApp and Wireless PAN DHCP Server were allowed through the firewall. I found that the WiDiApp was listed in, and allowed through the firewall. I could not find any mention of Wireless PAN DHCP Server in the firewall.
I found the entry in Services, and it was listed as Manual. I set it to Automatic and tried to Start the service. I received an Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.  I am running Windows 8 on a Sony SVS15118FXB.
As a possibly associated issue, since I believe Bluetooth also uses the Wireless PAN DHCP Server, I cannot get Bluetooth to function on the same computer. Attempts to connect Sony Bluetooth speakers also fail.  Maybe the same issue?
Any help would be most appreciated...

Am tearing my hair out trying to get my friend's system (Win 7 Home Premium I believe) back up and running. I believe that at some point in Feb something happened and her PC got infected, her current AV (AVG Free 2012) got disabled - security center had six messages from AVG crashing, the last time was around 15th Feb.

I started with the obvious - d/c from internet and try to reinstall AV. No luck. Tried a complete remove and reinstall, no luck. Used the AVG removal tool, rebooted in safe mode. installed Avast, rebooted - no resident protection services will start up. Every AV services results in an 1053 error - service failed to start in a timely fashion.

Managed to get Spybot and Malwarebytes installed - nothing found.

There is a partition on the HDD containing the recovery image - this may be where the nasty is hiding? I don't have a Windows install disc, just what's on the recovery partition. I backed up all her data onto DVDs, and reinstalled Windows from scratch.

Burnt an AVG rescue disc and booted from it, left it scanning, it also found nothing.

Managed to boot into Safe Mode and install AVG Free 2012 again, rebooted, the resident AVGTray didn't load, and when I ran AVGUI.exe it said "no components active". Rebooted into Safe Mode again and ran a CLI AVG scan, which also found nothing.

To make a long story short we upgraded our DC awhile ago from Windows Sever 2003 to Windows Sever 2008 R2. We have Windows XP Pro SP2-SP3 on all of our PCs here at work. We started to notice that only a few (mostly the lab machines are starting to recieve 1053 events). Along with the 1053 events, some of those machines would also have the event errors 1030, 5719, and 40961. I am still able to ping the DC from Pc's and resolve DNS using nslookup. Those machines issues are: Drive mappings lost, Cannot browse web, Cannot RDC. It is really strange, for ex. you can ping the file sever but you can't access any files from it. So network connection is the big issue. A reboot of the machines will make the events go away for about 30 days....then they would return. Complety removing the machine from the Domain and putting it back on makes the events go away but then in about 30 days they return. The machines have the correct IP addresses and pointing to the correct DC, DNS, etc. I was looking for a common ground between all the machines that are getting these events. Only thing that is the same really is that they are all in the same OU but there are other machines in that OU who are NOT getting the events. They are not the same model of PCs and some of them have SP2 and some SP3. I also ran a dcdiag on DC but really did see any errors and no errors on DC event log. I'm confussed as to whats going on? Any ideas or suggestions to try please! Thanks.

Howdy All!

This file, "{259BBFB4-1053-48F2-B52A-6D29ED3B1F27}.CBM" is in the root of my system drive.

It is exactly the same size as my Windows directory at roughly 16GB.

My SSD is only 40GB with 60% free space, so the reported file size has to be in error.

Can anyone tell me what this file is? Can I delete it?

TIA,

It is the record file for incremental backup of EaseUS Todo Backup. It will be deleted with the backup, or you can delete it if you're not using the program any longer.

Up until about a week ago, I wasn't having any problems using a trade forum I visit daily. Then, one day, out of the blue, I tried to post to the forum, and couldn't. I kept getting error messages. One of the error messages I received is pasted here:

Server object error 'ASP 0228 : 80004005'
Server.Execute Error
/forums/addnew.asp, line 433
The call to Server.Execute failed while loading the page.

I've tried to get help from the site techs, but they say the problem is not theirs, but mine. I contacted my ISP, and a "generous" tech only offered this advice: "Reinstall IE 6.0--you have a corrupt Java file or something."

I did a search to find out how to reinstall IE 6.0 to XP. Apparently, it involves a registry edit. And, the instructions lead me to believe that once I've done so, I'll also have to reinstall Outlook Express. And, in so doing, I'd also have to reinstall my anti-spam program. It all sounds like a huge hassle!

Is there any way to figure out what file is "corrupt", and just replace the one (or however many) file(s) is/are corrupt?

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a Access 2000 database residing on one sever and an installation of SQL Server 2008 residing on another. Both servers are running Windows Server 2003. I created a linked server using the code below. When I run EXEC sp_tables_ex 'PropCont' I get the following,
"OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' IDBInitialize::Initialize returned 0x80004005: The provider did not give any information about the error.].
Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_tables_ex, Line 13

I've run into an issue several times when trying to copy an entire share from one server to another. In this case, it happens to be from a Mac to a Windows server (just in case that's relative to the problem). The command I was using is:

robocopy \\MacDASD\Boards \\SRVRWIN78\Boards /S /FFT /XJ /R:1 /W:5 /V /TS /TEE /L

This runs fine, showing all the files and subfolders from the Mac's 'Boards' share that would have been copied. However, once the '/L' is removed to actually run the command I get 'ERROR 2 (0x00000002) Accessing Source Directory \\MacDASD\Boards. Running Robocopy for each of the subfolders under the 'Boards' share, however, works fine. It seems it just can't do the entire share at once. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Robocopying an entire share from server to server gets error 2

A quick search indicates error 2 could be:
- Some Extra files or directories were detected. Examine the output log.
- The system cannot find the file specified.

You could try to increase the retry parameter from /R:1 to a higher value.

I also found this but I don't know if it's correct or not, nor if error, exit codes and errorlevel are equal values:
Note also that bit 0x02 simply indicates that there are files at the destination that are not present at the source. This will happen if the /E switch is used and files have been deleted from the source since a previous copy was taken. It should not happen if the /MIR switch is used because that should delete files at the destination to mirror the source (but I haven't tested this).
