I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Cannot forward images in Windows Live Mail 2011 email
I have Windows Live Mail 2011. When I receive an email that has images, I cannot forward those images in the email. I receive a popup reading that says, one or more pictures in this message could not be found, etc. If I do forward them, the receiver receives an x in the box where the image is suppose to be located. I want email where I can easily forward a joke or whatever that includes images in with the message without going through a lot of work each time. I have no problem with Vista on my laptop. Is it the email account, or is there an adjustmenet to be made in Windows Live? Thanks.

Welcome again to Seven Forums Wembley You'd want to see if you can convert the file into a .csv file that you can then import into WLM. See if these instructions allow you to create a .csv file

How to Change a Word File to a Comma Delimited File

Then use these instructions to import the .csv file

To import offline contacts into Windows Live Mail

Open Windows Live Mail by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Mail, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Live Mail.

In the lower-left corner, select Contacts.
Click Import on the ribbon.
Select the file format that matches your exported contacts (.csv or .vcf).
Click Browse and then select the folder containing your exported contacts.
Click Next and select the check boxes next to the fields that you want to import.
Click Finish.

Suddenly I can't send new email nor reply to received emails in Windows Live Mail (WLM) 2011. I have no problem receiving emails, but when I try to send or reply I get the error message 'A problem has occurred. Please try again." Trying again and again does not help.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be appreciated. I have saved and organized many emails over the years and I don't want to lose them by doing a reinstall of WLM. And I'm not sure where/how to back up all these emails.

What if I did a restore to some point just before this recent WLM problem occurred........would that perhaps solve my problem and retain all my emails and associated folders?

Thanks in advance.........

I have bought a new computer with Windows 7 preinstalled. Before setting it up I backed up all my outstanding emails (204 .dbx files) and email addresses (one .wab file size 176kb) from my old computer on to a memory stick. I now want to import them into Windows Live Mail. I have gone through the recommended procedure for the emails, but only some of them have come across. I have been totally unable to import the addresses. The only procedures I have found seem to relate to a different version of Live Mail because they tell me to click on things that don't appear on my screen! Can anyone help?

It occurs to me that maybe not all the messages are being imported because I haven't imported the relevant contact details. Could this be the case?

By the way I can't go back to the old computer as it has completely died, which is why I replaced it.

Hi,

I had an email from Microsoft saying that they are making changes to their web email services in a few weeks time and that it would prevent email from being delivered to Windows Live Mail 2012. However, I'm actually using Windows Live Mail 2011. Does anyone know if the upcoming change will also prevent emails from being delivered to Windows Live Mail 2011 or is it a Windows Live Mail 2012 issue? If it applies to both versions, I'll have to update to Windows Live Mail 2012 and then apply the patch as I see that Windows Live Mail 2011 is no longer supported.

Thanks

I briefly tried Windows Live Mail 2011 after having used the 2009 version since it was released. I had one problem, however. When I used the export email option to back up my email to an external hard drive, it didn't copy all of my email over. I selected the option of all folders, so what's going on here? This never happened with the 2009 version. I guess a work-around would be to copy the storage folder over to the external drive, but the export option should work. Any ideas? Thanks.

Dear All,

I have been using windows live mail since quite a few time now.
While I logged in to my msn messenger today it asked me to update as there was a new version available.
I did that and alongwith messenger it updated and installed other programs as well.
It updated my WLM and gave it a new look. I NOW HAVE VERSION 2009 (BUILD 14.0.8064.0206)
I was happy to see the inbuilt calender which was not there earlier.
But what it did with my contacts was shoking.
I have 1197 contacts in my Windows Live Mail Contacts.
It is showing all 1197 names but only showing emails of about a 100 contacts. Rest all email addresses are lost, only their names are there.
THIS IS REALLY SHOCKING. I HAVE LOST ALL MY EMAIL ADDRESSES IN CONTACTS. THIS IS A BIG LOSS. PLEASE HELP ME.

Please tell me how this problem can be resolved and why did this happen?

I am eagerly awating your reply.

PLEASE HELP ME.

REGARDS,

A:Problem on updating Windows Live Mail / LOST EMAIL ADDRESSES OF CONTACTS

Hi All,

This same problem happened to me, plus I have some additional info.

Just like the earlier poster, I am a longtime user of Windows Live Mail. I was prompted to update and did so, and liked a number of improvements.

However, the email addresses of my contacts had been removed, along with all info other than just the contact names. The number of contact names is unchanged, and as far as I can tell, all the same names are there. The few email addresses that do remain (about 20 out of 500) were all used recently, AFTER the first launch of the previous WLM version on this computer, which is new since February. My guess is that these email addresses were automatically added per the preference setting "add email addresses to contacts after third reply."

Here is the added info: when I tried to import my contacts again from a CSV file, it didn't work. A window came up saying that the program was updating my contacts, and it took a REMARKABLY long time, but after it finished, I was left with the same scenario. My CSV file is still good, but WLM will not work with it.

I'm out of ideas. Please help.

Thanks to all in advance.

I am using Windows Live Mail 2011

It takes a long time for it to decide what to show, and after reading up on the net,

I tried:
1. reinstalling/repairing WLM 2011 (or the whole of WLE 2011)

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated

First, FYI, I've posted this same question in the area for Windows ME questions because I'm not sure if this should be posted there, or here.

I bought a new PC with Windows 7. I'd like to move my email messages from my old PC with Windows ME to my new PC. i run my own business and was using outlook express to send mails to clients.
i have a database with 20,000 email addresses and when i wanted to contact a certain area i would block email them.
basically i would copy from my excel database and paste into the BCC section on outlook and then press send....simple....
problem now is that my netbook broke and so i have a new one and set up windows live mail....well brother did....all was well sending mails and recveiving them but tonight i tried to copy multiple email adresses from the same database and put them into the BCC section on windows live mail and it will not send.

BAsically when I paste then adresses it is stacking the names above each other with no semicolon between them. If I just put a coupe of the adresses in and then put a semi colon between the adresses the mail will send..

question is how do i send mails to multiple users (50 adresses at a time)

i really look forward to hearing from anyone

many thanks

gary

HOW CAN I GET THE ADDRESSES TO HAVE SEMI COLONS BETWEEN THEM WHEN I PASTE THE ADRESSES INTO THE bcc SECTION OF THE MAIL.

Hello all
Is it possible to do an 'auto complete' on email addresses? I am using Microsoft Outlook 2000 at the moment. I know you can do this on Outlook Express, but can't figure it out on Outlook itself
It will be nice if I do not have to type in the entire email address of a person I want to send an email to, as this person is on my address book already. Umm..make sense?
I had a raging fit with my Outlook Express yesterday - it kept crashing my computer each time I tried to delete a mail. Odd. Only happened yesterday. Oh well..

Thanking you in advance! Bye now.

I've had a problem ever since Windows Live Mail was upgraded to the 2011 version.

I've been able to receive e-mail regularly and send some messages, but apparently some of my sent mail never reaches the recipient. I've now had several people tell me they never got my messages. I have multiple accounts from different service providers, and it doesn't seem to matter which account I use to send - some recipients never get the messages, and they are NOT in a spam folder etc. particularly Gmail users have had trouble receiving my mail, but again a few messages have gone through. one person didn't get about 5 of my e-mails, but one came through so this seems quite irregular.

All my accounts in Live Mail use the same smtp server, which is my ISP's server. I have checked that its correct, and as mentioned it works half the time. I also use the same server on my laptop, and it seems to work fine. the server does not use authentication etc.

so the combination that doesn't seem to work is Live Mail and the outgoing server. is there anything I can do to pinpoint the problem further?

A:Windows Live Mail 2011 - sent mail leaves outbox but disappears

Thanks for the message. I found it through Google.

This feels much more complicated than using the Outbox in Window XP

After editing an email when you go to Send it
there is a little drop-down warning box that it will be sent automatically
next time you are connected to the internet.

This time can seem erratic even when you are on a wireless connection all the time.

So you cannot use Outbox to double check.

MS and their mail systems are giving me grief. I have a Vista 32 PC using "Windows Mail" and want to transfer email folders (lots) and messages to Windows 7 using Windows Live Mail 2011.

Note: Windows Mail was a replacement for Outlook express on Vista.
Windows Live Mail 2011 is a replacement for Windows Mail on Windows 7.

I tried a couple of things.

1) Basic Export and ImportI exported relavent files: Account info, Contacts and all the messages to a folder (in Windows Mail format) on old computer and used the old "Addias" transfer - copied folder to stick and RAN it over to the new computer.
- Imported (using the Windows Mail format) the Account info successfully,
- imported the Contact info successfully.
- Import Messages - appeared at first to be successful

Issue: Message folders appear to be renamed and some folder names have been truncated, not all folders appear to be there. (Looks like "long Name folders greater that 8 characters get truncated)

So...

2) Tried the "Easy transfer mechanism (Vista and Win7 transfer utility) - but couldn't get the new computer to see the Vista even though I could see them on the network. I thought that this would transfer the folder names correctly.
I'm about to try a time consuming effort of coping folder by folder (export/Import)
What I am more concerned about is that the individaul messages may have the same issue Ie not all coming accross and subject names being lost.

I get a little nauseous just thinking about Windows Live Mail 2011, much less expending effort to use it, but I would try installing it on the Vista and see if it has the option right up front of importing stuff from Windows Mail. If it does, and happens to work correctly, then all you would have to do is find its files and copy them over.

By the way, are you putting on airs with "Addias" transfer? We plebeians just used "sneaker net."

What email program is on your old machine?

If you're going to be trying stuff to get your old mail on your new Win7, be sure to make a backup of all your old mail folders before you do, and put the backup file where you'll know where it is. Probably on your old machine desktop, wouldn't hurt to put another copy on your Win7 desktop as well. Loss hurts!

Questions... are you able to do an "Import" from X, (X being the location of your old (or previous) emails?

Are you able to do an "Export" of the same emails to a file?

Does Windows Live Mail 2011 have the option to "Import emails From" or "Export" to?

One thing you can do is: make a COPY of your old "Inbox" folder and place it, (the "COPY"), on your current Win 7 desktop. Have Windows Live Mail copy it from there. If when you do, it does not then contain items such as "attachments, etc., you could simply delete all the emails in it and try something else. Your original (old emails) are still where they always were, on your other machine or external drive.

My machine is a dual/boot Windows Vista & Windows7. For email I use Windows Mail on both. I know it is oft said that Windows Mail won't work on Win7, trust me it works just fine. The transfer of all my email folders from Vista to Win7 was a painless, simple, walk in the park. Everything transferred, folders and all, nothing was lost.

Windows Live Mail 2011 - recipients not receiving mail
About 10% of my e-mail recipients are not receiving my e-mail and I do not receive non-delivery notices. Makes no difference if I select their address from my e-mail list or select respond to one of their incoming messages. This problem has plagued me for many months. I changed from Windows Mail to Windows Live Mail 2011 with no results.

Computer is HP Model m9517c, AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core processor, Vista 64 bit operating system with Service Pack 2, 8 GB RAM. Am using Windows Live Mail 2011 with Comcast Internet Service.

The people not receiving my e-mail are using Verizon, Earthlink and probably others. Two of my Verizon accounts changed over to gmail and email went through.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

A:Windows Live Mail 2011 - recipients not receiving mail

Welcome
Of course, I cannot offer a definitive answer, but merely give the most like first.
Lets say you are sending from Verizon.com and you send to Yahoo.com Yahoo may have been receiving a lot of spam from Verizon and do not allow their email. Tell your friends to put you on the safe list and see if that helps.
Another possibility, is that you may have someone else's address. It may be very close to a correct address with only a small difference. YOu would not get an non delivered notice.

However, I have 2 drives on this computer: an SSD that is the boot drive, and E:, which contains the working files. BOTH DRIVES HAVE A CONTACTS FOLDER under USERS/(my name)/DOCUMENTS/CONTACTS. BOTH of those folders still contain addresses that I DELETED!!!

Questions: Why do I have a /Contacts folder on BOTH drives. And where is WLM getting the contacts if it does NOT show the contacts I deleted, but the Contacts folders do?

If he does install Windows 10 again, would he still be able to access Windows Live Mail through a desktop icon the way he does now? I'm presently using Outlook 2007 and would like to switch to live Mail. My question is how do I get my mail from Outlook into Live Mail?

A:Windows Live Mail 2011

I've never used Outlook but isn't there an Export button or something like that you could use, then use the Import function in WLM.?

I have been using Windows Live Mail for about a year and like it. However, yesterday I was surprised to find I had been upgraded to Windows Live Mail 2011. Everything works BUT the Junk e-mail protection now no longer functions. Every protection level I choose (then click APPLY and next OKAY), fails or is totally unresponsive. All mail (including tons of spam) now goes into my Inbox. Microsoft offers no direct support, and I get no responses on their forum. Also I tried downloading this program again; however, it sees it's installed and won't re-install it. Help!!

Yesterday I downloaded (quite by accident) Windows Live Mail 2011. I'm stumbling around in it. The worst problem as of now is that when I try to view my list of sent emails, I cannot view them by who I sent them to. I use this all day for my work. I've tried selecting different options, none seems to work.

I don't like the ribbon feature in WLM 2011 and would like to uninstall Windows Essentials including WLM 2011 and then install WLM 2009 which had the features I like. For instance I want to embed wav and midi files in emails and the format, background, sound feature is not available in the so called updated version.

The questions is, if I do this uninstall and re-install the older version from Hippo (I have seen it available), would my contacts be lost?

Thanks for any helkp you can give.

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post, and I'm a newbie, so please forgive the non-technical lingo.

I have a Dell Studio Laptop 1558 running Windows 7, and it came with the new 2011 Windows 7 Live Mail. This is supposed to be the newer, fancier version of Windows Live Mail. Unfortunately, I don't like this newer version, and want the older version. Actually I'd rather have OE back, but know that's not possible.

This version has "Quick Access" which I hate. In the old OE there was one "Inbox", one "Sent", one "Draft" etc, etc. and all I had to do was click the "Inbox" and see all my messages at one time. So simple.

Can I get rid of QA or at least rig it to show all my email at once, and not separate them?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

BarbB

You are not alone, many (including me) do not like 2011
The easy solution is to make a system restore point and then try one of these many mail clients. If you do not like it just go back with the system restore and try another.

I recently downloaded Windows Live Mail 2011, thinking it was a simple update to Windows Live Mail, and I don't like it. Will some one please tell me how I can go back to the old Windows Live Mail

A:Windows Live Mail 2011

Hi -

Go into Control Panel, Windows Updates, Installed Updates and uninstall kb2434419 - Live Essentials 2011.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2434419

Re-boot upon completion. Check Windows Updates again - be sure to "hide" kb2434419, otherwise it will install again.

When I logged in Windows Live Mail 2011 it stated that I have 2 new email messages.

Only 1 email was directly sent to my inbox.

How do I retrieve the missing emails as this has never happened before.

Thanks

A:Windows Live Mail 2011

Might be a daft question DD but did it go to the junk mail?

If not and you know who it may be from type the senders name in the search box at the top when you are in that inbox.

This just started today. When I click on "new mail" or the pull down menu "new > email message" I get this box

"A problem occured while trying to open this message."

"Please try again"
I'm just trying to start a new email and it had been working even after the update to Live Mail 2011.

Any help would be appreciated - THANKS

Hello. I have Windows 10 and Windows Live Mail 2011. Starting yesterday, when Windows Live Mail is checking for mail it is downloading old messages back as far as 2014. I've deleted everything, emptied my recycle bin, updated my Rogers Security check,
scanned, cleaned and so on. It's downloading 100's of messages like it's stuck in a loop. How can I fix this. Many thanks
