Will the 3-cell, 24wh Thinkpad Battery 61 (4X50M08810) or replacement for T470 return to the EU?

Q: Will the 3-cell, 24wh Thinkpad Battery 61 (4X50M08810) or replacement for T470 return to the EU?

Hi all, I wondered if any others have news or any hints on how to get this flat battery for the Thinkpad T470 etc. When I bought my Thinkpad I planned on getting one, but several of my orders were canceled a week after they got my money because of "fulfillment error".Also, so far I have not found a reseller in the UK that can actually deliver these. Is the battery discontinued ?Is there any replacement that is the same small size as the 3-cell battery? Or will all T470 have to live with the clunky 61+ and 61++ Any help or information is appreciated, I would really appreciate my T470 having a slim battery dress one day.Best,Daniel

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A ThinkPad T470 I ordered has been delayed a couple of times and will be reaching on Monday. Luckily, a friend is leaving on Friday and could bring the laptop to me.There are plenty of posts about how efficient the 8th generation i5 processors would be.. Being so close to the T480 release, bothers me. If it was the same situation six months ago, I wouldn't have bothered obviously.Lenovo's return policy is designed to make people hold onto their laptops.. ? (15% restocking fee and return shipping is on the buyer)This is the configuration I ordered:https://i.imgur.com/17wYqub.pngAnd intend to upgrade the HDD with a Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB and memory with a Crucial 16 GB dual rank memory stick. http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ct16g4sfd824aIf anything, the laptop will be delivered on Monday and I could start using it in a week's time and but don't have any idea when I would receive the T480 in my hands!Any thoughts would be awesome. Thank you, as always.

Is it normal for a Thinkpad T470 to drain battery after it has been shut down completely? I first observed this after not using the notebook for about a week. After switching it back on, the external battery had lost more than 10% charge, while the internal battery's value hadn't changed. Curiously, while using the notebook, this behavior is reversed, i.e. the internal battery is discharged first. Things I tried so far: Disabled Wake-on-LANDisabled USB chargeDisabled Thunderbolt deviceDisabled the fingerprint readerDisabled Fast BootDisabled all wake events and timersChanged power planPerformed a full shutdown via shutdown -sUpdated BIOS and Embedded Controller to latest version availableResetting Windows to factory defaults I also ejected the external battery and disabled the internal battery before shutting down to make sure that they don't discharge by themselves. However, no drain occurred under this condition. Effectively, none of these options have helped. The external battery still loses approximately 2% charge every 24 hours.

A:coin cell battery slot replacement part

I'll assume it's the one that came off the board when you attempted to replace the battery.  If so, and it's not salvageable, you'll likely need to find someone selling a board with the same socket on it as otherwise dead -- and remove and salvage the socket from the dead board.
This is not a part you're going to be able to buy separately from a mainboard.

I am looking to replace the internal battery for a Thinkpad X1 laptop.  the Model number is 1294AY2.    This is an older model with the internal battery.   The current battery appears to be a 4 cell, and I can find replacements online.  I thought I read an early review that mention an extended life 6 cell for the internal battery.  Is this an availbale part number? The installation process for the internal battery seems a little more involved.  Is there a recommendation on how to best do this without any permanent damage.  Is there an official repair manual that is available to the pulic? Since this unit is out of warranty, I assume that it is not a option available by sending the unit to Lenovo for service. I am curently getting about 3.5 hours battery life now, and the system reports 30,740mWh, compared to 38,920 rated capacity.  Can I assume that the battery has degraded by roughly 25% by comparing the 2 number, or is it a more involved calculation? Ideally I get 5-6 hours of life, and I am considering adding a "battery slice" instead of changing the internal battery. BATTERY 1NAME42T4977MANUFACTURERSMPSERIAL NUMBER472CHEMISTRYLiPDESIGN CAPACITY38,920 mWhFULL CHARGE CAPACITY30,740 mWhCYCLE COUNT-

Hello all, Please forgive if this has been posted. I couldn't find an answer: I purchased a replacement for my battery, but on installation it wouldn't charge. I tried disabling AC and battery in device manager. I tried complete shut down and reboot. Couldn't get the new battery to be recognized. The old battery still works a bit, so I'm not in serious trouble. but with the battery going on a few years old, I wanted to replace before it left me stranded. Is there something that must be done to tell the system (Win 8.1 x 64 pro) to recognize that the battery is new, and to reflash the battery firmware and reset the driver? Simply replacing the battery didn't quite get the job done. Thank you for any response.

Hoping this problem will be noticed by more people, the original post on this issue came from:https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Linux-Discussion/T470-Linux-Power-Bridge-wrong-discharge-order/td-p/365...https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/63odjr/t470_battery_order_question_internal_discharges/ Brief description: same problem with OS including Win 10, Ubuntu 16.04, Gentoo etc. The internal battery always gets discharged first regardless its remaining power, which is generally harmless but seems not so good for the internal battery life. With my own T470 machine, updated with the latest 1.29 BIOS, this problem remains. According to searching results online, this little bug came with early versions of X's and T' including T460. PS: this issue had been successfully fixed with T460 via BIOS update 1.26, hoping it would be fixed with T470 sooner or later. Best regards.

Hi everyone, Title says it all, I know this topic of discharging internal battery first has been brought up a lot, and that the reason behind it is this: The T470s are designed to drain the battery with least wear first so as to degrade both batteries equally and prolong the laptop's overall battery life. However, as I'm using a new 61++ battery, clearly somethig is going wrong somewhere as the year old internal battery cannot be in better condition than the brand new external.https://gyazo.com/6c12f3f40514599d04d852a8589189ab Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Lenovo experts - I am having a strange issue with my new X270 laptop. I have been using it for over 3 weeks now. The X270 came with an integrated Li-Ion 3-cell battery (23 Wh) and also an external Li-Ion 3-cell battery  (23 Wh). With very light usage (just outlook and office apps) and brightness set to 25%, I can barely get 2h-2.5h of battery life. Is this normal? Per the PSREF, 3+3 cell should give me ~13h of battery life.  Anything else I can check? I did a 'battery report' and I see on average 45 Wh of charging capacity when active. However 'Battery life estimates' show between 2h-3h at full charge. 'Current estimate of battery life based on all observed drains since OS install' is showing 3:50.  Do I have a defective battery? Any advice appreciated!

Hi, all!

I wish to purchase an HP dv5000t series laptop with a 12 Cell Li-Ion battery, but I saw a diagram on the HP site which showed a bulky mass at the back of the laptop, compared to a 6 cell which did not have this. It seems that such a laptop will not be able to sit flat on a desk.

Does anybody know from experience if this will be the case? If so, how bad of an angle is it? Will it interfere with normal use, etc?

Thanks! Your help is appreciated.

Hi again

I'm doing a complicated macro that seems to run for about 5 minutes. I believe I can shorten it if only I knew how to do the following.

My macro starts at Cell A2 and scrolls down column A until a certain condition is met. The condition is that the active cell <> cell D1. The macro then stops at the active cell in column A and then copies the active cell in cell D1. More code goes here. The program then goes back to the top of column A to Cell A2 and scrolls down again until the active cell <> cell D1.

Is there a way that I can continue where I have left off in Column A instead of going back to Cell A2 and scrolling down again? Here is a concrete example. Copy A3 to D1. Code goes here. Loop until activeCell <> D1. The cursor stops at A10. A10 is now copied to D1 and the process starts all over again. The macro starts back at A2 and scrolls down. Is there a way that the macro can put the cursor back at A10, where the copy started from??

The next spot the cursor stops at is at cell A16 and then copies A16 to D1. I now want the cursor to go back to A16 instead of A2.

I hope that you understand what I'm talking about.

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody knew of a function (or has written a quick VB function) to search for a string in Excel and return a true/false. For example, if a cell contained "techforums" and I searched for "forums", it would return true. If it did not find forums, it would return false. I guess I could use the functions w/in excel, but I hate the #value it returns if it does not find the string... Thanks in advance!

A:Search for String within Excel Cell & Return T/F

How do you determine what string you are going to be searching for? Is the string you are searching for going to be a value found in another cell or are you always going to be looking for the same "hard coded" value in your spreadsheet? You can accomplish what you want to do using a VBA procedure, a user defined function, or a combination of the built in Excel functions IF, ISERR, and FIND. Describe in more detail what determines your search criteria and we'll help you out.

Here is an example of a "hard code" statement that looks at cell A1 for the string "forum" and returns either "True" or "False" to the cell depending on whether it is found or not.

=IF(ISERR(FIND("forum",A1,1)),"FALSE","TRUE")

Greetings all,

I am struggling to create a macro or function in Excel 2003 to return a formula to a cell based on a lookup criteria. I have tried vlookup and a few macros. There are a multitude of rows that makes this impossible to do by hand.

I have tried using a vlookup to return the formula as text then created a macro to sendkeys F2 and enter to each cell to activate the formula. That did not work.

I have also tried:
Function EvalFormula(FormulaCell As String)
EvalFormula = Evaluate(FormulaCell)
End Function
Can somebody help me or offer an alternative solution? My company will not allow me to attached any documents so I apologize that I don't have the specific problem in a spreadsheet.

Someone needs to get a new battery for a very old laptop they have. The battery doesn't work so they have to have it plugged all the time otherwise it wouldn't work. Laptop is 15.6 and sort of heavy but the thing is they never take the laptop outside the house. It will mainly be used on one floor in the house.

100% of the time the laptop is used in the kitchen area where there is a table where its connected using a charger to the wall. Thus if the person had a working battery, they could carry it around the house even though the laptop will stay in one place usually. However because right now the battery doesn't work, it does but it goes out very fast less than 1 minute, they need a new battery.

Is it better to get a 6 cell or 9 cell battery? The laptop will be used at home 100 percent. The thing is this person said if 9 cell last longer, get it. However, im sure 9 cell batteries make the laptop much heavier and has that back part sticking out right? I know this isn't a big deal if you going to stay inside but wouldn't it be a problem/annoyance if you have the laptop on yourself when on the sofa? Does the 9 cell would be really heavy on an already heavy 15.6' laptop?

Also 6 cell batteries last for around 2 hours i believe. How many hours does a 9 cell last for usually?

The thing is majority of the time the laptop will be plugged in but its very annoying at the moment as the laptop has to be connected 100 percent of the time since the battery is no good at... Read more

A:6 Cell Vs 9 Cell Battery for Laptop?

It's a piece of hardware so you're in the right area.

I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 that has a 48WattHour battery. A 9-cell battery would give longer working time when on battery-only so if it is offered and the price is affordable I'd get it.

As for physically working, it may lift the back edge of the Notebook higher but that's not a problem, usually have rubber feet on them. I find that type of rise is actually easier for typing as most Desktop keyboards have feet to raise the back edge, fingers seem to 'flow' better.

Hi there!  Since the battery life of 320S is less than stellar, I tried to find ways of enhancing it beyond the beaten paths. When examining which batteries are compatible to mine, I noticed that besides three two-cell types (7.2V),- 5B10M49825- 5B10M49823- 5B10M49822 (this is the one the laptop came with)three three-cell units (11.4V ) were offered as possible replacements. These are:- 5B10M49826- 5B10M49824- 5B10M49821 My question is:What effect does the change of the battery voltage has on the battery life? Has anybody tried this change and what were the results?I think this strongly depends on how the onboard voltage is generated: A very primitive voltage regulator would simply turn the excess voltage into heat and would have no effect on the battery life.A more sophisticated regulator would detect the incoming voltage and could (the conservation of power applies) turn additional voltage (e.g. 11.4V) into additional current at a lower voltage (e.g. 7.4V), yielding a longer battery life. Can Lenovo say how the onboard voltage regulators will react to an aleviated input voltage ? can the battery life be extended this way?Has anybody already tried this conversion and if so, what was the result? Best regards and thanks in advance,Matthias

Just got my Spectre, followed instructions, plugged in etc and notice the cursor was sporadic - kept jumping to the top of the screen, spent over two hours messing around looking for updates the cure the problem, whilst have the frustration of the cursor moving by itself - the HP auto update thingy didn't work. Windows update worked but nothing solved the issue.I Was about to return it to its box and send it back and i unplugged the charging cable - Problem gone!!.I thought it was some earthing problem, but realized the screen went dimmer at the same time the problem went away. Plugged the charging cable back in and screen came on to 100% - the problem came back - switched screen to 75% problem gone!! Have I got a faulty laptop? should I return it? Bought it through amazon so I can easily return it. Hopes this post helps some else as I coudn't find anything by doing a google search.
