Yoga 700 11 inch wifi keeps disconnecting

Q: Yoga 700 11 inch wifi keeps disconnecting

Hi,Is anyone facing issue with the wifi connection? The wifi on yoga 700 keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. When the wifi tries to reconnect, it's showing no internet access. I have other laptops connected to the same router and there are no connection issues with my other laptops, tablets, or phones. I've even tried to a different router (at a different location) and I still have the same issue. I contacted Lenovo customer service and they sent me link to download the wifi driver which I have done (uninstall existing driver and reinstall the drive that was provided by Lenovo CS) however, it would connect to the wifi and work fine for a while then the wifi disconncets and tries to reconnect over and over again (same issue). Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone had any experience with replacing the WiFi card in the yoga 700 or just replacing WiFi cards in general. I am thinking about upgrading the intel Wi Fi card on my 700 model (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165, 802.11ac, 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0) .. :Looking for faster streaming speeds as well as signal strength  The question is I was looking at the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 card (it's the same card in the yoga 900 model) is it that much better and is it worth upgrading?  thank you

I am using a lenovo yoga 14. When I connect to my wifi network at home the internet often randomly turns off. It doesn't only disconnect my laptop, it kicks all of the other devices off the network as well. I have no viruses and the laptop seemed to be doing this from when I originally got it. Hello,  I just bought a new 13 inch Yoga 720 this week. When I was setting it up, the fan was so loud it sounded like a jet engine. I assumed that was because it was installing apps and such. However, 3 days later and I still have a really loud fan that is very noticeable even when I'm simply browsing the web. I love everything else about this laptop but if I can't fix this issue then I will return it and go with something else.  Can we expect a BIOS update or something within the next 10 days before my return period is up? Any other fix? I'v already tried turning my max processor execution state in power settings to 99% and that only helped a little but hasn't fixed the issue.  Also, I've checked task manager and nothing is using my CPU. I have already tried replacing the laptop once from best buy and the replacement also has the issue which makes me think it needs a BIOS update or it's a poor design. Thanks

I would like to buy Lenovo Yoga 13" with pen support and at least 16GB RAM or upgrade possibility. Now I'm little bit confused as it seems that each 13 inch yoga or miix netbook has a 8 GB RAM stick only and there is no info if it's upgradable. Could you please tell me if you guys plan to create any 13" 2-in-1 netbook with 16GB RAM? Or does it curently exist? 15 inch ones are just too big for my proposals.Cheers

Hi Kate_Ankara,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you have any specific link or machine nodel number of the laptop you are planning to purchase among the Yoga 13 inch machines?

Similar to this discussion , A yoga 13 have OEM Max ram of 8GB on its singular slot.
8GB max7 / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3L, non-parity, one 204-pin SO-DIMM socket
Hardware manual (page 27) specification

Pen support with stylus for Yoga 13 model discussed here. It would only support capacitive pen and not an active pen as this thread. Would you rather have a 2-1 13inch laptop with active pen to be specific?

UNIT SPECS: -i5, 8th gen U-gtx 1050 GPU-8 GB RAM-1080p IPS display-256 GB of storage-90 Watt AC Adapter I know that this has another thread, but it'd marked as "solved", whereas the issue has not been solved at all.  So, the basics of the issue: CPU runs fine during normal use and when stress testing on XTU, but then immediately downclocks itself to between .4 and .8 Ghz when the NVidia 1050 is active.  During games or benchmarking (used UnEngine Valley), this results in a drop to 10-25 fps on average.  CPU power drops by about 75% and bottlenecks the GPU so that it can only perform around 30-50%.If you exit out of the app's window, the GPU will not be in use and the CPU will gradually clock itself back up to normal levels.Another user pointed out a workaround where you can disable Intel Thermal Framework to reduce the issue.  The problem is that ITF exists for a reason and disabling it increases heat, reduces battery life, and can damage your PC.  Theoretically it could also void warranty if any damage resulted from disabling the feature. No thermal throttling is occurring, which makes it odd that ITF would be strangling the processor.  Even if that were an issue, it could just lower the CPU to its base clock (not below) and temps would be fine. This probably some issue caused by acombination of Lenovo's BIOS interacting with ITF, but it could also be hardware related.   The takeaway is that you can't use the device'... I've got a Yoga 700 11.6 inch, windows 10, 128 gb HDD and 8gb memory. Testing it and playing games I can see the computer is not performing to specs. I did a fresh re-install of Windows because I hated all the Lenovo apps added to it. Sadly I was still unable to install the Intel version of the graphics driver. but whatever, I have the Lenovo version. Still, benchmarks tell me this is performing well below the specs even for the Intel HD 515. I have everything set to 'high performance'. I've been told there's some BIOS settings I could change but frankly I haven't seen them. Is my computer being throttled, and if so how can I fix it?

hello there fellow Yoga 710 users,  one of the reasons why i picked up this Yoga 710 is because of its 'above average' battery life to compare with its competitor. this is based on reviews that i read and watch on youtube.  however, after using it for a few days, i dont think i was able to hit 7 hours or more on this machine. i did not put it under extreme load as i was using it only for word processing etc.  from the battery notification, it says around 4 hours and 40 minutes at 100 percent.  any of you guys encounter the same problem? or you guys were able to hit 7 hours or more for the battery life? just want to make sure that my battery is not draining for no reason appreciate your input guys  thanks

Hey guys first off im new to the community cause I just got my first Lenovo about 10 days ago after using HP's for most of my life. So far I love it, everything about it is amazing its got the i7 processor and the Intel 5500 graphics which is plenty for anything I can bring to the table. But I have had two issues with it so far I havent been able to resolve; 1. Somehow or another after the second day I set my computer in what im assuming is "FN key lock" or something like that. F1-F12 normally would require you to hold FN in order to click, while the functions such as mute, volume up/down, brightness adjust, etc... would be free to click. But then after the second day it switched and I prefer it the way it was at first. 2. This one is a little more serious. about 1 out of every 4 times I start my computer the touch screen will begin to freak out and act as if something is touching it in like 20 different places at the same time. I can see the little touch circles appear all over the screen when my hands arent even touching the computer. Obviously when this is happening it renders the computer useless cause everything gets clicked and all I can do to stop it is force shut it down. Any help or solutions would be MUCH appreciated, thanks guys!!!

Hey all,  I recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 720 15-inch 4k and love it! Unfortunately, it was stolen in Mexico and I had to buy a new one upon returning to the States.  One of the first things I changed when I got my first 720 was the screen brightness. I switched off the "Adaptive Brightness" setting in System > Display settings and that seemed to make my screen nice and bright white.  Now, on my second computer, even at 100% brightness and with the Adaptive Brightness switched off, the screen looks much dimmer and not as crisp white.  Any thoughts on what might be going on? Thanks! Dave

Hello folks, so far I really like the Yoga 720 but I have this really strange problem when I'm drawing on the screen. I have a ThinkPad Yoga 12.5-Inch Convertible 2 in 1 Touchscreen Ultrabook (20CD00B1US) running Windows 8.1 that came factory equipped with a 256 GB SATA SSD (Samsung 2.5" SATA III) and I need additional storage capacity (mainly for storing photos).  I initially intended to replace the original SSD with a larger SSD (specifically a Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" SATA III 1TB  SSD), but then discovered that my ThinkPad Yoga had provision for installing a M.2 drive.  Will the ThinkPad Yoga 12.5-Inch Convertible 2 in 1 Touchscreen Ultrabook (20CD00B1US) support two drives - that is, will I be able to access both the original SATA III SSD (as the boot drive) and the M.2 drive (as a data storage drive)?  If so, how will this secondary drive affect the computer's overall performance?  (I realize that power consumption will go up a bit with a second SSD, but since I use it on AC power most of the time, that's not an issue.)  (** I appologize for accidentally posting this to the Lenovo Android Tablets forum.  I'm new here and didn't realize I had entered the wrong sub-forum**) -Wes

I copied files between them at around 400Mb/s. At first it wouldn't boot to Windows 10 giving a black screen. BIOS recognized both, but no success on booting.I've had to boot using an Ultimate Boot CD to create both the msdos partition table and one NTFS partition. After that, Windows booted as normal, recognizing it. I hope this Kingspec lasts some time (there are both bad and good comments about it online).Let's also see what does the battery (I use to work with the TP plugged to AC) Regards.

Greetings, I just bought Lenovo Yoga 330. It's been great, but i have one strange problem. When I wake the laptop from sleep, the CPU clock is stuck on 1.1 GHz (Which is its base clock). It won't go to turbo clock which is supposedly 2.6 GHz. The only solution i know is to reboot the windows, and the cpu clock is normal again.I know with ssd rebooting is fast, but still you need to wait some programs to start up. I'm a teacher, there are no breaks between my classes, i really need sleep mode to quickly use my laptop between classes.I know programs such Throttlestop from techpowerup can set the CPU to static 2.6 GHz, but it's not good for battery life. I need the dynamic clock, so the clock will low if the usage is low, and the clock will throttle up if the usage is higher.I am using windows 10 64 bit which was preinstalled during purchase. All the drivers are up to date, the BIOS also is the latest. I am wondering if lenovo team is already address this problem, i really hope they will release new BIOS soon. Sorry for my english, it's not my primary language.

I JUST bought the yoga 2 11 inch and literally out the box it's slow. It came pre-installed with Window's 10. I use IE and Chrome as browsers and they constantly freeze while i'm using. I have to revert to browsing on my cell phone because it freezes so often. Same goes for when I use Excel. It's constantly freezing and I get the "(Not responding)" message at the top. It will come back alive, but it will be unresponsive or frozen for about 30 seconds each time. And yesterday I've just about had it as it was worse than ever with my browsers constantly "not responding" literally every minute! I've restarted my laptop and that didn't help. The only thing I've installed on my laptop is a messaging app that i've always used and Adobe reader. My cell phone is seriously MUCH faster than this. Anyone else run into this problem??

Hi,  For several months my laptop has continued to randomly disconnect from the wifi at least once a day, some days even a dozen times. I'm a very tolerant, patient person so I thought the issue might eventually resolve itself but it didn't. It's not a problem with the wifi, it's pretty top-notch and other devices in the house don't have any issues continuing to connect to the wifi. When it does this, it can't seem to find any network connections whatsoever even though there are two others in my house's vicinity as well that I can locate when the laptop is working with the wifi. Usually when the disconnect happens, I'm forced to close all my work and restart the machine - sometimes several times before it actually works - and I have to reboot everything I was working on. As someone who does a lot of online design work, this is incredibly frustrating as so much of my work has gone unsaved. If someone could help with this problem that would be fantastic. I've been considering buying another laptop because I'm so frustrated with what's happening with this one. Thank you,Mari

My laptop will not stay connected to wifi for more than a few seconds before 'limited access' appears.
It connects and disconnects repetitively.
i have a 3mobile wireless dongle. Other laptops stay connected no problem and i am always beside the dongle with full coverage.
if i click the network icon several times on the bottom right it reconnects for a few seconds again,
I have discovered that if i run 'funkypool' in the background the connection generally stays, but not 100%, but 90% anyway.
this may possibly be because its java and always refreshing itself i think.
it doesn't matter whether or not im plugged in or using battery but i did change the controls for automatically putting the wireless to sleep mode so i doubt that unless ive done it wrong. my laptop is 5 months old. trouble shooting does not raise any issues. any help greatly appreciated, thanks

The mobile wireless may be interfering with your Wi-Fi. Try the Wi-Fi without the mobile wireless "dongle."

I have a new windows 8 machine (Dell Inspiron 2350), and there is a problem with the WIFI keeps disconnecting. I have determined that it seems to primarily happen whenever I am downloading any large files. When the computer is sitting idle or I am just browsing it doesn't seem to happen.
I do not have any such issue with my Windows 7 laptop or mobile devices.

I have already tried all the suggestions found elsewhere about changing the power management settings, and have already disabled "allow computer to turn off this device to save power".

I already have the latest driver, and have updated the bios.

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings
then "changed advanced power settings" and select Wireless adapter and put it to maximum performance.

So I took the plunge and updated to Windows 10 from 8.1. I did the FULL install, wiped my hard drive completely before installing Windows 10.

Everything is great, I really do like it.

But the WiFi keeps dropping and its extraordinarily aggravating.

I searched all over the internet with no solution in sight.

When this happens, I try to keep re-connecting it and it connects but then after awhile, it will just stop trying and I get the "System Broker has stopped working" as well as the "Network UX Broker has stopped working" error message.

Has anyone found a solution? I tried installing the WiFi drivers again and again but still nothing helping. I really think its a Windows issue that needs to be addressed via an update. I do have the latest updates installed as well.

The machine in question is a Lenovo Z710 IdeaPad with the Intel Wireless AC 7260 NIC.

If you have a separate sound card as well as Wi-Fi, update the drivers for it also.

My wifi keeps disconnecting and I have to reestart my Router to get it back on.  Even if I want to print from my computer, I have to restart my router.  My router is all updated.  Running on 2.4Gh I did figure out how to check that.  I need guidance on what to do next.  I am a fulll time college student doing my classes online and I am ready to throw everything out the window.  If anyone could help me that would be awesome!
