Preferred Solution: BSOD while using utorrent and youtube

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey guys, I was wondering, has anyone else had a problem with uTorrent giving them a BSOD after about 2 minutes? It'll be running fine then all of a sudden *BAM* dead, and it references AVGWFPX.SYS every time. I tried doing a system restore and running as administrator, but nothing works. I've even tried using different clients and it still crashes, uTorrent, bitcomet, the original Bittorrent. Any help would be wonderful, thanks.

Add utorrent to AVG's exception not to scan and see if you still get the BSOD.

hi all,
i have been experiencing a BSOD every time i leave utorrent to download overnight. i wake up in the morning and my system tells me that it shut down unexpectedly, and there is no improvement on my torrents. i am running avast antivirus and windows firewall, and utorrent 3.1.3.

win 7 came installed on my laptop
ive had my computer for about a month or so.
it performed a system restore once because i connected it to an external monitor while it was switched on.

the perfmon /report thing wouldnt let me click save as....what do i do?

It is never a good idea to run more than one active Malware app and this is the result. Please remove both Avast and McAffee and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Avast can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

I'm trying to torrent a file on utorrent. it's of average size and I've done it plenty of times before without a problem. The file at the moment is about 90% and had a few blue screens along the way, but now as soon as I resume the file it instantly blue screens me.

The problem is almost undoubtedly that I updated my wifi card driver the night before. I've tried updating the driver automatically and manually from the website. I've tried completely uninstalling the driver and rolling back to a previous one and I still blue screen when starting utorrent.

Bluescreenview tells me the drivers causing the crashes are hal.dll and notskrnl.exe. Something to do with kernel.

I'm running windows 7 SP1 64-bit. it came preinstalled on the comp. Cpu is intel core2quad Q8300 at 2.5GHz, GPU is XFX GTS250 core edition 1GB. No overclocking. Power supply is OCZ StealthXstream 500W. Computer's about a year old and not had crashes before now. MoBo is some generic one I think, computer is made by Packard Bell (Ixtreme M3720) :(

model no. (it says product ID, hope it's the same thing) : 00359-OEM-8992687-00006

Hi All,

I have a issue with my laptop, recently when using uTorrent (even if not downloading), my machine joyfully crashes with blue screen.
I was trying to figure out this by myself and I'm almost sure that issue is related with wifi card, but even if I install latest drivers suggested by Slim Drivers(not sure can I trust but I thought is worth to try) it still crashing.
Any tips welcome

Regards,
Daniel

A:BSOD when using uTorrent

Your dumps point to NETIO.sys, a core networking component that is often blamed as a cause whenever problematic firewall/internet security software are installed. Such examples are ZoneAlarm and AVG.

I would recommend removing TrueCrypt for the time being, one of it's drivers was involved in a crash.

Hello and welcome to 7 Forums! No need to apologize - the Chinese version will be fine.

Dump blames Norton - I suggest that you remove it, it is a known cause of BSOD on some Windows 7 systems. Use this removal tool to remove Norton: Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product | Norton Support
Use Avast or MSE with Windows Firewall in it's place.

Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

H: drive only has about 2% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

You have 7 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

Although I love the program NetworX, I have to wonder about it's presence in the memory dumps. Please uninstall it in order to see if it helps with the BSOD's

Hi, I'm a new user and I basically came across this forum while googling a solution to my computer's problem. So, for a while now my computer crashes with a blue screen a few minutes after starting uTorrent and I get the error message Driver IRQL Not Equal or Less. I've tried a few things like updating the drivers using Windows Action Center, but that didn't help. I can't figure out which drivers are causing it and even checked the dump files using Blue Screen View and it highlighted Netio.sys and Vaio Firmware Extension Parser (I updated this one but the version on the Vaio website is the one I already had installed). What is the exact model number of your VAIO laptop ?. Also please upload a "System Information Report" of your system by following the below steps.

1. Open RUN dialogue ( Win key + R )

2. Enter Msinfo32.exe

3. Choose File --> Save and upload the output file with next reply.

The last crash dump indicates Driver Verfier enabled in your system. If you intentionally enabled it, please disable. Otherwise, open an elevated command prompt and enter Verifier /reset to disable the driver  verification.

Hi. Just a quick thanks in advance

Never had an issue with downloading using uTorrent until the last 6-12 months. The only new hardware includes:Video card
SSD
WD 4TB Green drive

As suggested by other threads, I have:updated network adapter drivers
uninstalled PC Tool's Spyware Doctor (and have MSE in its place)
flashed the BIOS
updated video card drivers

I've been to Google with multiple error codes and he hasn't been a very good friend as of late. The only reason I can think of is that perhaps, the PSU does not have enough juice? I am running four HDDs, an optical drive, a video card and four fans. Pretty sure it's not the issue as I encounter no problems when playing graphics-intensive games. Corsair PSUs are highly recommended as well.

I'm looking for some guidance on the source of the BSODs and would appreciate any clarity on this.

Many thanks again

off the top of my head; it sounds like it could have something to do with the u torrent program itself. sounds like something has possibly corrupted one or more files for the u torrent. I would try uninstalling the program and reinstalling it and see what happens and we can go from there.

A:BSoD (uTorrent?)

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is almost always caused by a driver problem.  TCPIP.SYS would be your networking driver.  I'd make sure I had the right driver.  If you got from anywhere other than your computer's manufacturer, that's likely your problem.  I'd be more specific, but you didn't give any info about your make and model or what version of Windows you're running.  I'm afraid my dog broke my crystal ball.

I've gotten a BSOD multiple times when downloading torrents, but it doesn't happen every time. The BSOD message is Drive IRQL not less or equal. I've run mutiple diagnostics and memory tests on my computer, all come back fine.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I attached the zip file this forum said to, but my system health report kept timing out when it was generating the report. Can anyone help me without the system health report?

Easy your two malware applications.

Remove BOTH AVG and McAfee and replace with Microsoft security Essentials.

I note you have AVG.
AVG can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S .
Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

First thing: remove Avast with this tool: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe

Next, install some updated Intel wireless drivers. Check on Intel.com, or your computer manufacturer's site.

Finally, install updated drivers for your Yukon network adapter driver.

If the BSODs persist, please follow these directions: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

I will ask the mods to move this to a new thread.

I have had a few BSOD's occur over the last few days that has to do with netio.sys and I have tried researching the internet for any answers. It only occurs whenever I use uTorrent for about 20 - 40 minutes at a time. I did not use the program for a while and my computer was just fine remaining on for many hours with no BSOD until I started using uTorrent. During the times I was not using uTorrent I was able to use my computer like normal, idle and under heavy load.

Hi there

I have been trying to download a graphic facepack for football manager 2015 using utorrent but it seems everytime I start the software, anywhere from a few minutes to 10 minutes my screen artifacts and I get booted to a blue screen which mentions netio.sys.

BlueScreenView also highlights ntoskrnl.exe.

It seems that I can still do other stuff and play games on the computer fine and the only time I get more than 1 crash on a day is when I try to run utorrent again after the first crash.

I have done a bit of research online but cant seem to put my finger on it exactly, hopefully someone here can help.

I have added the zip file with the reports from the SF Diagnostic Tool, hopefully I am doing this right.

Thanks for taking a look and I really appreciate the time you spend on trying to help me here.

Hi!

I've read countless posts in countless forums since I downloaded Windows 10 like a half a year ago and this error started to happen, but I haven't yet found a solution.

So - I am using HP ENVY 15, and after I upgraded to Windows 10 I started having an error, when sometimes when having utorrent with active torrents running in the backgroud my windows just crashed to BSOD randomly showing error "PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA".

I upgraded all my drivers to the newest, installed an older (supposedly more stable) version of utorrent, but the problem still happens. Also, it doesn't happen for all the torrents, just a few. I saw a post about the same issue for dell computer, and some people claimed that they found the solution by replacing a certain driver (I guess Network driver), but I cant find such driver for my HP laptop. The post is here.

If you have any more ideas I could try to fix this, please let me know.

Thanks,
Ray

I know there have been numerous threads on this one, but I couldn't find a solution that fitted my PC config on any - so posting this one.

I have utorrent and while keeping it on, I have a BSOD every 10-15 minutes - sometimes even sooner.

Most threads spoke about Antivirus software causing issues here. I have Quickheal on my PC.

Is that the problem here?

Hi!

After reading some stuff about this error and without any success of solving it, I needed some more direct help. So I found your forum and thought that this was perfect!

About my PC:

CPU: Intel Core i5-750 @ 3,25GHz
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9900 LED
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E
RAM: 2x4GB Corsair XMS3
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 4870
Power Supply: Thermaltake ToughPower XT 575W ATX 2.3
Hard Disc: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1000GB

So, I've used uTorrent for quite a long time now (last fresh Windows install was in november 2010, I think) without any troubles. But since I started the download of a specific file, my PC crashes after a few (between 1 and 30) minutes of downloading. I get a BSOD with the text "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", referring to NETIO.SYS (Picture attached).

I deinstalled the network driver, used the standard-Windows 7-driver, updated that driver via Windows and installed a driver from the ASUS-Homepage. In all these cases, the same error happened. Now I'm using the Realtek-driver version 7.3.522.2009.

I am just running a Virus-Scan with Avira; without any success yet...

I analysed the last minidump using the Windows Debugging Tools, which gave me the following output:

Hey All, bear with me as I both a forum and computer novice.

I ran uTorrent for a week or so (about 20 total downloads) with no problems. Over the past 4 days I've been getting constant BSOD with the reference "IRQL_EQUAL_NOT_LESS_THAN" i removed uTorrent and proceded with Vuse with the same result. It appears to happen whether I have many torrents or just 1.

i am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a ethernet cord through a cable broadband modem, Ambit brand. I have checked to make sure all drivers are current. I purchased the laptop used, wiped it clean and then had it upgraded to 4GB ram. I have not installed any other software other than ad-aware free. The computer seems to work flawlessly otherwise.

I have read about these issues all over the net and cannot seem to find a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a novice but I'm pretty patient and willing to try anything. I have attached the BSOD Collection and system health report.

Thanks in advance

I get the blue screen multiple times while downloading something, I'm downloading something right now, might even BSOD while writing this thread. Only happens during downloading, and only happens on uTorrent. Help will be appreciated.

The information that was required is as follows;

The BSOD dump and perfmon .zip file is attached, titled 'Information.rar'

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x86 (32-bit)
- the original installed OS on the system? Yes
- an OEM or full retail version? OEM
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)? About 1/2 to 2 months
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) I haven't reinstalled.

Thanks!

A:BSOD while dowloading anything via uTorrent.

Sorry I tend to post without first browsing similar topics. Supposedly, if you have McAfee, which I do, but don't use, (I use AVG), McAfee blocks some things for uTorrent that happen to be a Windows Service, which in turn, causes the BSOD.

This is the topic that I found --> http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...-utorrent.html

I've removed McAfee and hope this never happens again, if it does, I'll report back here.

Thanks again.

(I was wondering why I wasn't getting replies.)

EDIT: Oh, and I won't mark this solved until I'm 100% sure it's fixed.

What happens if you don't use Torrent? I mean using another download manager such as GetRight or another?

Hi, it's been a while since I have this ("driver_irql_not_less_or_equal, ndis.sys or netio.sys") error and it occurs whenever I try to download a file with uTorrent and a few times while downloading with IDM, I hope that my PC is not dead, Thanks in advance for your support.

Only 128 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Your C:drive has only about 9% free space available, windows likes to have about 15% free space for running the system. Please makesome space on your disk.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software)are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sysdriver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, thenuse the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver isremoved from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on yoursystem's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads(pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install"when you run it).

Hi,

I've been getting occasional BSODs since the start of this year - the last few times I noted was while downloading using utorrent. I am able to restart Windows normally after the BSOD.

I've attached the zipped output file after running the BSOD Dump & System File Collection app. I tried to run the System Health Report using perfmon / report but it timed out a couple of times and then when I tried again it tells me that the parameter is incorrect - so unfortunately I'm not able to attach this file.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit.
The laptop is relatively new ASUS K43S bought in Nov 2011.
The processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz with 8GB RAM.

Any help you can provide about the BSOD and what I should do to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Iris

A:BSOD sometimes during utorrent downloads

Virtually all of these were related to NETIO.SYS and often when that happens it is really the installed malware app theat is the underlying problem. In your case Avast.
Avast can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Hello!

My problem is that every time I run utorrent I get a BSOD. Sometimes within 5 minuts and sometimes it takes up to an hour. Everything was fine before I did a clean install on my windows(A few weeks back). And as you can see I the ".dmp" files are a bit different. That might be because I updated my graphics card drivers (Geforce 8800GT) and I uninstalled my network drivers(Realtek RTL8201N), so windows reinstalled an older version and I'm using those at the moment. And I don't know what happend with the last one(didn't change anything).

I also ran a Memtest86+, here's the link to a picture:

And here's the link to my PC's specifications(graphics card is switched to Geforce 8800GT, since the original 8600GT stopped working, way before the new installation of windows):

And I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

These were blamed on netio.sys and that usually means your malware app. In your case Symantec is a known cause of BSOD.
I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST
