I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So have been having some real problems upgrading my graphics card lately this is my current spec:  Windows 10 Pro 64-bitCPU Intel Core i3 2120 @ 3.30GHz 33 °C Sandy Bridge 32nm TechnologyRAM 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (8-8-8-22)Motherboard Foxconn 2ABF (CPU 1) 28 °CGraphics Philips 190S ([email protected]) 1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 32 °CStorage 232GB Western Digital WDC WD2500AAJS-00L7A0 (SATA) 33 °C 298GB Hitachi HCP725032GLA380 (SATA) 32 °C 931GB Western Digital WDC WD1003FZEX-00MK2A0 (SATA) 34 °COptical Drives hp CDDVDW TS-H653T MagicISO Virtual DVD-ROM0000Audio NVIDIA High Definition Audio I cant afford much so I went for a Gigabyte Nvidia 730 2G DDR3.  Tried two different cards but still not booting from hp blue start up screen, so returned them thinking they were faulty; however, looking further in forums, said some HP computers may not be able to upgrade graphics cards much past onboard spec can anyone help and tell me what I could run? I love this PC and will be gutted if i have to replace it just to be able to upgrade graphics

Hi: Below is the link to the quickspecs for your PC. The list of supported video cards can be found on page 4. http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04288441.pdf Nowadays, another factor when choosing a video card is the age/version of the BIOS in your PC vs the model of the video card. It's no longer a simple comparison of the power supply draw and PCI express version. Choosing the newest ones out on the market today will probably not work in a PC more than a year or two old.

Hello, I have a p7-1234 with an upgraded power supply running an AMD r7-250 2gb GPU. I would like to know what the most powerful, best card that I can use with this older computer. Thank you for your help!

A:Looking for a list of compatible Graphics cards

Coolartcaleb, welcome to the forum. HP doesn't have a list of video cards that are compatible with their computers.  However, newer cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  There is no way to upgrade the the BIOS to UEFI. The last video cards that didn't require UEFI are the GT 640's.  Your best option is to choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your computer. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I need to replace my original graphics cards due to problems with the fan failing.  Currently I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 530 (2 GB DDR3, PCI-E 2.0 x16). My computer specifications are as follows: Computer Type: HP Pavilion HPE h8-1160tOS:  Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP 1Processor:  Intel i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHzMemory:  16 GB (4 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600Power Supply:  600W (Model DPS-600WB A)Card slot:  pci-e 2.0 I have already tried several Gigabyte cards from Amazon and have had to return them as they did not work even though they had the correct specifications. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's ridicutlous that you have such a short list of compatible cards. I just bought a GeForce GT 730 which is nearly identical in most specs to the 530 but the 730 won't run. Seriously, HP should be put out a clear warning with all of their PCs that they limit upgradability and ship the computers with compatible hardware. Apparently it's a very short list so it should only take 1 page of paper. Now I'm stuck with a video card I can't use and have you tried finding a 530 even for sale? I suspect the others are similarily rare.

I purchased a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760 for my p7-1245 with a IPISB-CU motherboard. The product specs say that the motherboard supports PCI-E x16 video cards. I also purchased a 725w power supply to accomodate the new video card. After installing, the computer freezes on the HP splash screen. I can't even get into the setup menus. After replacing the card with the original AMD Radeon HD 7450 everything worked again. I have done some research and discovered a lot of similar problems when people try to replace or upgrade the graphics cards in their HP desktops. Recommedations including updating bios, etc. seem to be ineffective for others, with the eventual conclusion being the incompatibility of the board itself with the graphics card. Perhaps the card I bought requires a newer generation PCI slot and is not backwards compatible? Is there a list of compatible graphic cards for the IPISB-CU motherboard? Thanks for any help.

Hi: I only see 6, but that is neither here nor there... Please post the hardware ID for the Standard VGA Adapter so I can figure out what model graphics adapter your PC has. To find the hardware ID, go to the device manager and click to expand the Display adapters device manager category. Then click on the Standard VGA Adapter listed there. Now you will see a Property drop down list and it will be set to Device Description. Drop down on that list and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's). Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

This is everything that i believe you need to know for my question. I want to know, what type of graphics cards am I able to use with my PC? I only ask because I was told certain graphics cards are not compatible with certain motherboards. All my PC information is in those 2 links. I also ask because my tower is quite slim compared to most, and I'm not sure if size matters in this situation. I'm not very computer literate.

So, what type of graphics cards can I get? I would like to upgrade mine. Mainly because when I try to play games, I get through the entire downloading phase and then i get an error saying something about my DirectX. I have DirectX 11.1 but I get this error: "Your DirectX version is unsupported."

The game I'm trying to play is Elder Scrolls Online. I have a link to the game's requirements at the top so you can compare it to what I currently have and maybe be able to tell me what the issue is? Basically, I'm looking at the game's "minimum requirements" and it looks as if I have everything but I don't really know.

You can't always tell with brand manufacturers since sometimes they will have the MB makers modify their boards. However, in this case it looks like any of the AGP video cards will be compatible with the MB. Where you will have to watch things is the card's power requirements. Many of the brands will have a PS on the small (meaning output) size.

Hi!

I am looking for graphics cards that don't require 400W power supplies. I don't thing the average card uses all the 400W of power, but what is a good PS for graphics cards?

I am setting up external graphics with a PCI-e to x16 PCI adapter that offers 8 pin power connector. You can find it here:

http://www.amazon.com/Laptop-Extern...6270390&sr=8-1&keywords=graphics+card+adapter

Along with the adapter, I am looking for an 8 pin to 6pin/8pin adapter (8pin female on one end, and 6 pin plus an 8 pin male plugs on the other).

I am looking at this PSU:

http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Dell-...=1456281602&sr=1-2&keywords=220w+power+supply

Also, I am using a Toshiba Satellite C75D-B7230. I have removed the network card without any flaws or error messages, that was plugged into the PCI-e slot.

Any replies are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Which model  brand   of gtx 750ti?     NVIDIA licenses the reference design to manufacturers who in turn produce their  version for manufacture and sale in the market. Most models require a 400 Watt or greater capacity PSU. Your PC has only a 300 Watt PSU. That is a definite roadblock.Microtower PCs require low profile video cards.  I am not aware of a GTX 750 2GB or 1GB model that is available in a low profile format.  The NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti is a double slot full sized video card.

Or is it just possible to remove the internet Cable and plug it directly into the back of my PC, (Windows 98 Gateway) thereby bypassing the modem/router thing?

eventually, and then the 10 series will do the same to the 9 series, rinse and repeat. basically as long as its one of the fastest cards the gts will be expensive, when it becomes obsolete (relatively) its price will drop.

from the question i assume you are looking to upgrade, if you want to only spend $100 then i'd say your best bet is an OCed 7600 GT, lotsa bang for your buck, i can run FEAR with pretty high settings with just one of them.

Hi. I got a 2-3 year old Lenovo Yoga 500-14ACL laptop, Machine Type Model: 80NA002MMX, with the newest BIOS firmware from Lenovo, in which I got a Linux distro installed to a partition.  My only problem is, the WiFi does not work, as there are no drivers available for this card on Linux systems. I tried as a last resort to use a program called "ndiswrapper" to install the windows driver in my Linux distro with the help from Linux professionals, sadly it did not work. Now my only chance is to purchase a new WiFi card compatible with Linux distros (not a USB WiFi plug), so my question is, where is that "whitelist" which Lenovo has implemented into the BIOS online? I have searched online, but I cannot find a list containing compatible cards. I see many users has purchased cards previously without being aware that Lenovo reject certain cards, and that is exactly what many users report, the card is rejected by the BIOS, and the users are left with a card they can not use. Before I order a new WiFi card, I want to make sure the card I order is compatible in my laptop. I came from the store I bought the pc today, and the techicians there were very surpised that Lenovo in fact had such a list in their BIOS, and they were not aware about it until I informed them. They told me that all they could do is to contact Lenovo directly by mail, so they recommended I did that myself, in which this forum post is all about. What WiFi cards are in the BIOS'... Hi there,

My computer came with a VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP card, which is apparently a Graphics/Video Card with onboard video (or the other way around, video w/ onboard graphics) Now, this is a terrible card- it can barely play any modern games. I want to get a new graphics card, but I'm concerned if I install a new Graphics Card, that because of the onboard video, it will affect this greatly, or if I actually need a video card instead of graphics. What do I actually need, and will it adversely affect anything on my PC.

Yeah, it is cheaper but it is not better than the 8800 GT/GTS//GTX/Ultra. Price and perfomance wise, it is a great buy but if you're a serious gamer, why not buy an nVidia 8800 GT. I think that it is more powerful and offers more value for money. The ATi Radeon HD 3870 is also worth checking out.

A:Wireless cards for HP notebooks 15-ac series

Hello @edwtie, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! The Forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I came across your post about the WLAN Module, and wanted to help! There is only one M.2 slot for the WLAN card, so it should be A, or E keyed.  The compatible WLAN Modules for the notebook seem to be 2230-2730. Please let me know if this information helps you resolve the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution", this will help others easily find the information they may be looking for.  Also, clicking the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thanks! Have a great day!

For all of those 48xx series users whining about GPU temps. Here is the fix "until 8.7 drivers", I only increased my fan to 43%. It lowered my GPU temps from 80 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celcuis.

Funny - I was whining about my nVidia 8800GTS KO Edition - almost the same thing - at *idle* the damn thing runs 65-68 lol....

I found out the fan runs at 37% until it gets called to - at like 85 or so. So I used a version of RivaTuner (made for eVGA) to create profiles for my fan speeds.

Now, at idle I get 48, and when I was playing Crysis last night I was barely breaking 60 with 4XAA and 1600 x 1200 res.

I'm looking into buying a "Rosewill Silicon Image RC-209-EX PCI External e-SATA x2/ Internal SATA x4 1.5G HDD Controller Card" and maybe im just losing it from staying up all night hardware shopping but the pci connector looked odd to me. Researching it I see that it is a Universal pci card, for 2.3 pci, compatible with 33mhz or 66 mhz.

Now my mobo has only 2.2 pci's but as i understand it 2.3 universal cards are backwards compatible with 2.2 slots, and since the card has 33mhz and 66mhz functionality, the only concern would be its voltage, which i do not know, but which seems from my research to be fine either way since 2.2 supports 3.3volts which is what 2.3 pci's are.

just wanted to double check before i shelled out the cash, that this card would probabliy work in my system.

well i just bought it, will let you know how it works

A:PCI 2.2 compatible with PCI 2.3 cards?

Yes, I would expect it to work.

Hi

I've just found a bargain of a XFX 8800GTX XXX and the question I have is whether it's compatible with a BFG 8800GTX OC2 in SLi mode?

The XFX card has a central clock of ~4mhz more than the BFG, but I suppose that either downclocking the XFX or overclocking the BFG should solve the problem with different clocks. The rest is the same.

Well, what do you people think?
If you help me out with this I'll become more active in the forum again
THANKS A LOT!

A:Are these cards compatible in SLi?

Hard to say, but I'd expect they wouldn't be compatible in SLI.

Nvidia says that as long as the actual GPU chip is the same model and revision, and the memory is the same, then they should be compatible. However many people have stated that combining different manufacturers cards, regardless of specs, just doesn't jive.

IMO - Unless the cards are 100% identical, you're not guaranteed that it will work.

I'm sure that's not what you really wanted to hear, but it is what it is, I guess. Bottom line, they may work, but don't count on it.

I currently have a HP Elite 7500 series MT. My Bios is AMI 8.17I have researched long enough and saw that GTX 750 TI card can fit in the mother board (z75) but there have been many threads open about how people with the same PC like mine or similar got the GTX 750 TI and it froze before BIOS, question is, Why does that happen and will it happen to me?

A:HP Elite 7500 series MT , Compatible with GTX 750 TI ?

Hi, Please post the HP product number for your PC. How to Find the HP Model Number and the HP Product Number or let HP automatically find your PC model number and HP network attached printers. This will allow others to review your issue, make suggestions and review your responses. This is usually the best way to get assistance. What is the make and model of teh NVIDIA GTX 750? What modifications have you made to your PC other than trying to install the video card? What have you tried so far to get the NVIDIA GTX 750 working?

I know there will always be something bigger, better, and faster coming out on the market but when I originally built my desktop I chose a Mid-tower because I didn't want a High-tower due to the size etc... but I do dislike the mid-tower because it leaves about an inch of space for air flow from the intake fan to the output fan, due to its size. I recently got back from school so I have yet to set-up my desktop but I put in it a EVGA Nvidia 9800 GX2 graphics card which was the new and best, and this was only a year ago now.

I haven't really been following new cards and such for a while but can anyone give me a summary of what has happened since the 9800 GX2? I know some are now equipped with DDR3 but what else about them is making them the new and better series?

Would there be any advantage to upgrading to a 2 or 4 series?

Thanks
-Lollies

A:The New Series Of Nvidia Graphic Cards vs. The 9800's

Their are always advantages, 2 series pending on the exact model.Newer manufacturing techniques, power consummation, more memory, faster memory, higher memory interface (bit). 4 Series DX11, 2 DVi and 1 hdmi out multi monitor support, and the afore mentioned. It would really depend on what you mainly use your card for. Since the card you have is a pretty good one to start with. JMO Fabe

Hi

Recently installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Everything works fine except my Belkin F5D5005 v2000 network card.

There are no drivers for it on the Belkin site and none of the older vista drivers work.

Is there a list somewhere of NIC's that are compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit since it looks like I'll need to buy a new one.

The on board network point on my motherboard works fine (realtek NIC on an Asus Fatality fp-in9 SLI mobo) but has been faulty for some time now.

Any advice?

A:PCI Network cards - which are compatible?

Welcome footwo, here's a link but you might want to pick out a model and check the manufacture's website to see if they are posting w7 drivers before you commit.
