I encountered the BSOD with the problem about atikmpag.sys It seems like I made a wrong choice about deleting it, (solution from internet searching)  and now the Display Adapters doesn't work anymore as you can see in the pictures  after deleting the atikmpag.sys during safe mode, It somehow resolved the problem about the BSOD and my laptop are finally starting properly now the problem is about the resolution, it's not the same anymore, it's too low and somehow the screen is blurry, as you can see at the Graphics section, the maximum resolution I can only choose is 1024 x 768, which is supposed to be 1366 x 768 (HD) if i'm not mistaken,   I need your help on how to fix this I hope i can turn it back to normal., I don't have a CD installer (if it is supposed to have one) to re-install it, and about downloading from other sites I'm a little bit concerned about that so I haven't tried it yet.. and it seems like Lenovo has its own installer... Pls help ASAP

A:Lenovo G470 atikmpag.sys problem

hi jm9327,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

The G470 with a dual GPU (Intel+AMD), uses a muxless driver (this is a custom driver that switches the discrete AMD Graphics to the Intel Graphics to save power). If you have installed a different driver, this may cause system instability (including BSOD).

If you're running on Windows 7, try the following::

1. Follow this guide on how to disable automatic driver installation.
2. Install these drivers in order (reboot if necessary)
(1st)  - Intel Onboard Graphics Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit)
   (2nd)  - AMD Video Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)

When finished, check if the yellow exclamation marks are gone under Device Manager > Display Adapters and observe the screen resolution adjustment and BSOD occurrence.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards

I have been having an issue with my Lenovo Yoga 710's video card, It seems to be incompatible with several windows, intel, lenovo and 3rd party programs. Powershell ISE, anything created with javafx/awt, Intel update application, etc. The applications will not display unless I uninstall/disable the graphics card and use the windows default driver. This Issue has been going on for since early 2017. The video card is intel 515 with a driver version of 21.20.16.4550. I attempted to install the current driver from the lenovo website but an error occurs saying my system is not compatible with the drivers.

Hello, I have a Lenovo g470, and I was wondering if it would be possible to get an Ivy Bridge processor. The manual says the following ones are compatible: Intel I7-2620M 2.7G 4M 2c J1 PGA processor CPU.Intel I5-2540M 2.6G 3M 2c J1 PGA processor CPU.Intel I5-2520M 2.5G 3M 2c J1 PGA processor CPU.Intel I5-2410M 2.3G 3M 2c J1 PGA processor CPU.Intel I3-2310M 2.1G 3M 2c J1 PGA processor CPU. But as it Ivy Bridge are backwards compatible with SB, I wonder if I could get a 3 processor and put in this mobo. If not, does it worth to change from i3 2310m to anyone of these above?? i5 2540m has 200mhz higher clock on gpu and i7 has more l3 cache(4MB), or should I just leave like this?? I appreciate any help. Thank you.  (Sorry for my bad english)

Which version of Windows you have shouldn't affect how your battery is charged up so it's probably just coincidence.

After spending an inordinate amount of time searching the internet about my problem, and then contacting Lenovo (who told me it was hardware and I needed to return all of the laptops I bought), I managed to magically find the solution to my problem.  Since it wasn't documented elsewhere on the internet, I thought I'd create a post for it here. The problem I was having was that my Lenovo G470 laptop did not display Press F2 to Enter Setup during the boot process, and because of this, no amount of hammering the F2 button would allow access to the BIOS.  I attempted all of the standard fixes, pulled the battery, held power down for 30 seconds, removed the HDD -- nothing would cause this to appear.  Since it was happening on all 3 of the G470s we just purchased, I didn't believe it was hardware.  I reached out to Lenovo Premium Support, and after about 3 minutes of discussion, "Paul" informed me that all three machines were defective and would have to be sent back in for repair, and it would take 4-6 weeks for repair and diagnosis.   As I had been noodling around with the machines for a few days, ONE of the three ended up showing the bios options during the boot process.  At that point, I had been hitting just about every single key on the keyboard during the boot process, so I couldn't identify what it was that I did that caused the options to appear.  A little more troubleshooting and I figured it out: Lenovo G470 machines equip... Hello everyone. I have a Lenovo G470 laptop, i'm having few problems with wireless connection. Some months ago I was using normally my laptop and then I had a internet problem, so I tried to disable my adapter in network connections and then it has dissapeared from my connections.. Then I tried to look on Device Manager in Network Connections tab, my driver was gone.. I already tried everything.. Actually, I'm using Usb wi-fi for using internet on it and Lan cable. 1. Tried to reinstall my wi-fi driver.2. Tried to enable on bios.3. Installed Fn+f5 thing, ps: It only shows up Bluetooth... Also in Windows Mobility Center has no wi-fi to enable.4. Turned on wireless key in left side of laptop, no results.. 5. And last thing, reinstalled windows like 2-3 times, and still no wi-fi..  I really don't know what is happening with my wi-fi, I'm tired to search in a million sites for fixes and no one worked.. So I'm posting this if someone could help with this problem. PS: Sorry for bad english, my main lang is portuguese

hi WalkIntoMyFace,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.

The Lenovo H520s has a  low profile PCI Express x16 ver 2.0 expansion slot where you can add a discrete graphics adapter. You can opt to use an Nvidia GeForce GT 620 1Gb or a AMD Radeon HD 7570 2Gb.

See page 35 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual on how to replace the Graphics Card.

Hope this helps.

Lenovo Think center  M55 MT-M 8810-D3U I beleive this is SFFThe other day I was at Micro center near me and saw some video cards that said ATX 1300 $19.95 I know I could get them cheaper on line but dont know if it would work fo M55 as i went to pay it rang up $3.50 so I took 2I installed it and of course it wouldnt work so I removed it and decided to flash my bios installed again and it worked very excited now.I came in the next morning and computer was dead.I didnt rember if I shut it or left it running.Anyway playing around power supply would go on when i plugged it in but wouldnt boot I really thought I blew something on board but was also guessing that power supply problem.Trip to microcenter again bought home 2 power supply 300watt sff for $60 and one not sff 400watt for $15 they both worked none of them fit inside.I really wasnt going to spend the $60 so I have the cheaper seating on my box so called 400watt.At this point I dont mind the computer sits flat on my desk with monitor on it and doesnt move much and I could modify the power supply tie wrapping or clamping with a bracket to the cover.First of all is there any reasonable priced power supply 300watt or more that would fit in there(or I just live with this),also does this video card take so much power that it would kill my power supply?

Hi rsprowls, You can try and download the latest driver of the video card from http://support.amd.com/en-us. If the driver update does not resolve the issue, I would recommend getting a new system. The video card is integrated into motherboard a getting a new motherboard for this model may be difficult, and the cost would not be economical. If your are still interested in replacing the motherboard, you can get the part number from the Hardware Maintenance Manual at support.lenovo.com  under the Documentation of the system. Hope this helps. Cheers,

Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.

Your system being SFF model there are limited options like GeForce Zotac 610, GeForce GT 430, Club 3D GeForce GT 520, ATI Radeon HD 5570 to name a few. Well older Think systems have limited support for AMD/Radeon cards.

A:Lenovo IdeaCentre 700-25ISH video card upgrade.

I believe that those come with a 400w power supply (PSU), but you should check to be sure.   The 400w PSU would support up to a Nvidia GTX 960 GPU, but beyond that you would probably need to upgrade the PSU to a 600w or better depending what the power requirements are on the GPU(s)  you plan on installing.       You can install a standard 600w (or better) ATX power supply, but you will need to buy a 24pin to 10pin adapter to connect to the system board, because for some reason Lenovo chose to use use a proprietary 10pin connection in its "Easy-to-Upgrade Powerhouses", instead of the industry standard 24pin connection, which before an adapter was released by a 3rd party, made upgrading its "Easy-to-Upgrade" systems PSU very very difficult. Good Luck,   IBM Lenovo PSU Main Power 24-Pin to 10-Pin Adapter Cable (30cm)http://www.moddiy.com/products/IBM-Lenovo-PSU-Main-Power-24%252dPin-to-10%252dPin-Adapter-Cable-%283...

Windows 7 has installed a generic driver for the card. You need to go the cards manufacturers site and download the correct driver for windows 7. Then unistall the card in Device Manager and then install the new driver.

My pc is a Lenovov H50-55 with onboard AMD Radeon R700 graphics (1G dedicated & up to 6G extended). When Lenovo hardware scan kicked off today, all diagnostics passed - except for the video card. When I ran extended diagniostics, it failed on extended video memory test with a code of W19UJ2AAC-RVS4HE and "video memory". It offered to take me to support to order a "new video card." Well, first of all, it is built into the motherboard, and I don't know what the full explanation of that error code is. Can anyone help? Now when I run LSB from the downloaded file on the website here, it doesn't even get to that test before it fails. What is this telling me, and is there (other than bypassing the onboard video hardware) that can be sdone to alleviate the problem?

Since your system is older, to ensure the necessary airflow, clean the front air intake and fan with vacuum and canned compressed air, jam the fan with a cable tie or similar so it can't spin and over-speed.  Same for CPU fan and heat sink, and vac the intake and rear exhaust of the power supply.

I can confirm that this MSI brand low-profile  GTX 750 Ti 2GB  card works perfectly in my M93p SFF machine without upgrading the PSU:   MSI N750-Ti-2GD5TLP

Measuring the power draw running Prime95 (CPU benchmark) , FurMark (GPU benchmark) , charging mobile phone via USB and copying large files at the same time , it stays below 190W.   Have been running this for several hours. I have also been playing Fallout 4 (FullHD, ultra textures, 60 FPS) for 100 hours without any problems.   As the case is quite compact, I was worried about the temperature but it stays below 80C for the GPU at full power over extended periods of time (about 25C ambient temp in the room).

Installation is ok. Just mount the low profile bracket and move the PCIe 1x WiFi card (if you have one) into another slot.  Preferably le... Read more

Hi guys, I enjoy using my v110-15isk laptop, but have some video card problems. I tried different ways but cant solve. I hope there are some suggestions here..  System: Lenovo v100-15ISK 80TL, Intel HD Graphics 520 (Onboard), AMD Radeon R5 M430Symthoms: Program crash when Autocad and Google Earth start. OS: I have dual boot on my laptop: Windows 10x64Bit V.1709 (Fall Creators Update) and Windows 7x64Bit.Both windows are updated but they have same problem. Additional info:1-When i set AMD disabled in BIOS, programs work normally but then system is in low video capability mode of course.2-When both video card are installed and i set Autocad on power saving mode in AMD settings then Autocad works but so slow. GoogleEarth does not start (in openGL mode) or start (in directX mode) without navigating world frame.3-I have tried different driver versions but no difference.4-I have tested hardware with Lenovo Diagnostics. It says others are OK but Intel HD520 test failed on "mathematichal operations test" (Program crashs and close). I think main problem is driver conflicts. But how will i solve it?

I have to try to install Red Hat 7 into a Lenovo y50 and i have some issue with the Video Card. The problem id that in graphic mode i can not reduce the resolution of the screen and i have only the 4K resolution so is impossible wotk with it. I Have Downloaded the NVIDIA driver from Nvidia site and tried to follow the installation process found in Red Hat portal (link below)but when i run the driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-375.26.run seems that is not compatible.  https://access.redhat.com/solutions/1155663 I'm not a linux expert so i would like to know if there is some workaround to fix it Tanks GIO

Ah, my friend.it sounds not to be a video card problem, but more of a codec issue. make sure your codecs are up to date and if that doesn't work, post your system specs.

Over the past couple of weeks, my PC has begun freezing - but ONLY when I'm watching videos. That can be either streaming or in Media Player etc. It never freezes if I'm doing other stuff.

My video card first started acting up. It would switch to my onboard video, then back to my video card, then back the forth until the video card stopped working. I tested my video card in a different PC and it works fine. Now my onboard video has stopped working. I have a cheap power supply in my computer. Do you think it's the PSU?

I need some advice.

Thanks

I recently installed Windows Service Pack 2, actually three times after reinstating my computer software to the original state by erasing and reinstalling the full software install CD on my computer's hard drive for Window XP Home. I have no problems playing games with my new FX 5200 Ultra video card by BFG, but I am at random times getting the annoying green screen that blanks out my videos I am streaming or playing(happens when I am streaming more often). Then after that happens usually, the computer reboots or shuts off. I never had this happen before. My computer's memory tests ok so why can I play games with this never happening but when I am streaming or watching video through Windows Media Player, etc do I get the "green screen blankout" and then often the shutdown of my computer? I have 512 MB of system memory and 128 MB of video memory! I use System Mechanic and it shows I have at least half of my memory even during playback so what is the problem here? I can attach my system computer file of my information if you like in an e-mail if it will help. AND YES I HAVE THE DIVX CODECS. I thought about that to and uninstalled and reinstalled them with the same random problems. PLEASE HELP ME. This is really annoying.

A:video playback and streaming. Video card problem or software?

Well, it seems u dont have a hardware problem. this problem occurs only when u r watching videos. so i guess its the media player. take my suggestion, stop using it. Download this pack: KLite Codec Pack. I think the latest version is 3.2. Its got all the codecs u need to play compressed videos, and dvds. Its also got an advanced media player which can play any video u open it with like wmv, dat, mpg, rm, mov, avi, divx..... of course, the codecs for these formats r included in the pack.

Hi,

Im in a dilly of a pickle here.

When playing video, my screen will go black for just a second and then return to normal. With most video players, the video will then usually play, but when using BSPlayer (bsplayer.org) to watch video, the screen will go black, return to normal and then video will not play.

It gets worse. Sometimes, I will be minding my own the computer will still be running, but then, the screen will go black, then the monitor will give me the old message:
"self test / check your pc and signal cable / monitor is working"
The computer will still be running, and the only way I know to get picture back is to restart the computer. I have gotten this error the most when the using BSplayer, which sometimes causes the monitor to just shut down like that. But other video players like divx, QuickTime, and windows media player will all occasionally not play or cause weird image problems to crop up on the screen

Also, if the computer freezes up, hitting ctrl+alt+del gives me a black screen with garbled white text.

I have updated my NVIDIA drivers and installed the latest bsplayer version, but neither of those actions fixed my dilemma.

OS: 98se
Video Card: NVIDIA Geforce FX 5200
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2200

A:video card/graphic card reboot problem

boynamedanurag Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about booting and video card problems and wanted to help. So, if I understand what you're saying, you reinstalled Win7 and the PC boots OK, right? But when you then install a video driver and reboot, it does not boot, right? My guess is that you have one of the old DV6 laptops that has two video chipsets, something called Switchable Graphics.  And the problem with that is that only the HP OEM video drivers will work on that laptop.  IF you install other ones, such as the ones you get from AMD or Nvidia, they will NOT work -- which sounds like what is happening to you. What DOES work is restoring your PC using HP Recovery Media because that will contain the HP OEM drivers.  Media. This is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks.  You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded. You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/driversOnce there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update".  If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry... Read more
