Q: Lenovo t430 processor temperature

Hi, I have a question, is the lenovo t430 in the Intel Core i5-3320M processor also very loud? Can you determine what are the temperatures at rest and under load? I apologize for my English, I'm learning that I come from Poland

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi again!

Anybody knows which is the average temperature a microprocessor should be? By the way, I have an ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard and the processor is AMD XP-2400+ 2.0 GHZ.

I´m running the Motherboard Monitor 5 software and I get that the CPU temp is 57ºC... and I think that´s pretty high!

Another question... anybody knows at what heat does the system automatically turns off to prevent an overheating? I´m having problems with that and I need to finish some urgent work before I take my PC to a tech support. Am I risking to burn the processor out???

Thanks in advance!

Emiliano

Ok im fixed with intel i7 950 which is 3.06 Ghz.

If a processor overclock it needs a CPU cooler to avoid damage the CPU.

I went to the shop and ask the tech and he said that i7 950 3 Ghz is very hot.

So my question is does a default clock speed of i7 950 3.06Ghz need a water cooling hardware?

Someone post this site and he said that a default cpu without overclocking has a lifespan of 10 years?
And lastly what is the normal temperature of CPU?

A:Help for Processor Temperature

How hot is it running now?

It is true that it will run warmer with the stock Intel Heatsink, as opposed to a better aftermarket cooler. However, it should still be well within normal operating specs.

At stock speeds or resonable Overclocking, an Air Cooler will fit the bill just Fine.

While Water Cooling is superior, it is only necessary if you are doing some extreme Overclocking. And certainly not needed for a stock system.

Hello all.
Recently I was building a computer system, i used a boxed Intel P4 3.06 GHz processor and Intel mb. Processor heat sink had a thermal compound patch so I did not have to worry about applying it. My problem is, I installed the bios software which included a program to warn you about cpu temperature. The cpu seems to be reporting a range of 59 celsius to 69 celsius when the computer is not being used. The program is reporting this as high. When you are running any programs, it warns you that it has exceeded the safe operating threshold (currently set to 68 C). Unfortunately Intel is closed today, and the box has no information about the normal operating threshold.
So long post short: what is the correct normal operating temps for a p4 3.06 ghz 800Mhz fsb cpu? and what should i set the warning threshold too, aka at what temp should i freak out about the cpu?

thx for any help

Hi,

Since I got my brand new i7 (860) desktop, I noticed (using SpeedFan) that the processor's temperature is around 60-65c, even though I have an aluminum case with powerful fans and a good airflow. My friend told me the ideal temperature is around 25-40c max.

Should I be worried about this? is it the-hotter-the-worse cause, or I shouldn't care unless it's going to hit its maximum temp (72.7c according to this page)?

I appreciate your help

Can it be the effect of any virus or someting else.
please anyone tell how to solve this problem. If you need any more information please tell me.

Have you got anything to check the actual temperature of the CPU? It could be that the heatsink is not in proper contact with CPU, checking the temperature whilst idle would prove this.

I'm an experienced computer builder and can usually diagnose and repair most hardware problem; but this one puzzles me! I hope someone can help--even though my computer is an older model.

Here's my hardware:

Motherboard: Asus P5P800, 533 Mhz FSB
Processor: Pentium 4 LGA775
Fan/Heatsink: Intel D34233-002 (See attached image)
RAM: 4MB
OS: Windows XP, SP2
Power Supply: Antec 550W

Because my computer has been registering "CPU Over Temperature" errors--at first, a couple of times a week, but gradually increasing to daily now--I unplugged it, cleaned off the thermal compound from both the CPU and the fan/heatsink unit using Qtips and 91% rubbing alcohol, then gently cleaned off any residue using a soft cloth. Then I carefully blew out the fan/heatsink unit with canned air.

I then placed a pea-sized amount of thermal compound (which I've successfully used before) on the cleaned CPU. Then, using the edge of a business card, I carefully spread the compound over the entire surface area of the CPU, so the compound appears almost transparent (but not quite).

Then I carefully reinstalled the fan/heatsink assembly, making sure that each of the four posts was tightly installed, and plugged in the fan power supply to the proper motherboard connection (which will only plug in one way).

I then plugged in the computer and started it up. It turned on, and it started fine. But after a few seconds it spontaneously turned off. After this happened three times. I unplug... Read more

A:CPU Over Temperature (100C) when I first boot cold processor

That is a puzzle. It's pretty common to use too much compound, and I would have said "pea-sized" was too much, but you scraped some off with the card and it sounds like the layer was thin enough for the needed metal-to-metal contact.

Is the fan assembly clamping tightly to the CPU? Check all sides to be sure nothing is holding it away.

What about other components? It could be that the temp of the Northbridge would show up as "CPU" temp in the hardware monitor. That is also something that overheats easily when not properly connected to cooling fins.

So I have intel core i5 2320 3Ghz processor and when I dont do anything with computer just surfing on net I got about 40C-45C temperature. I cheack temperature with Speccy program. However when I playing game like gta 4 I got form 70-75 temperature and one time I got 80 but its was just for one time. So and I have fews questions, its normal, its safe ? And when I playing game like crysis gta 4 I got fps drop in some places, but I hear that is normal when fps drop in some places on gta and crysis, fps drop is not so big. On other game no fps drop like postal and mafia II. But maybe it can have influence for performance I dont know so that why I ask you.

A:It's this temperature normal for processor and games performance?

Slowing down depends on what's happening on-screen, e.g. the FPS during an explosion or a lot of smoke/dust would be lower than normal. But at high temps, thermal throttle would kick in, slowing things down.
Anyhow, to the thread's main question:
The "normal" temps depends on ambient temps, really. 30C, while hot for Antarctica, is a miracle for Sahara. Knowing your ambient temps and system configuration/placement would help.
But if you are uncomfortable with those temps (should be, IMHO), refer to the Cooling Guides in my signature for help.

Regards,
Marnomancer.

One of my Intel Core 2 Quad processor cores has a temperature consistently lower than the other 3 cores, WHY?

Hello. I have a question. I need to know the reason why one of my cores (Core 2) is running about 3-4 degrees below the temperatures of the other 3 cores on my Intel Core 2 Quad processor. Restarting and rebooting seems not to help, it is always the same core with the lower temperature. Is there something wrong with that particular core or something overly defective with the processor itself??? It rarely ever fluctuates and stays at 33 degrees Celsius. The other core temperatures are around 36-37 degrees at rest/idle and do frequently go up when an action is performed on the computer.

Please let me know what is going on with this consistent core 2 temperature and please provide me with a reason why this is happening. Is it something that is beginning to go with this processor? Is there anything that can be done about it to get all four (4) core temperatures in balance.

Thank you!

A:One of my Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Cores Has A Temperature Lower Than The Others?

Is that a Q6xxx series or a Q9xxx series quad core?

The idle temps aren't particularly accurate as some of the sensors can become 'stuck'. As long as the temps move (and aren't too high) when under load, it's all okay.

On quads, it's not uncommon for an uneven temp to be reported across all the cores.

On my chip, my 2nd core always reported lower than the others and over time my 1,3 and 4th core sensors stopped moving at idle temps. Stuck sensors are more common with the Q9xx series.

Likely an insignificant problem. Something as simple as air flow within the case, or a variation of fan speed. I cannot see that it is anything to worry about, unless the higher temperature one is consistently over 64C.
I suppose you could interchange the two cores and see what changes result.

Hey Lenovo Forum:

I'm having a battery charging problem that seems slightly different from any on this forum so far. I just acquired a T430 running Windows 7 (64-bit) like a charm. After a few issues with the audio drivers, everything has been running smoothly.

Abruptly, yesterday, when I plugged it into the wall socket (the same socket that it had sucessfully charged on earlier) it failed to charge. Thinking it was the outlet, I tested it. The outlet and adapter are both working fine (the adapter powers the computer no problem with the battery removed from the system). The lock switch on the battery is in the propper position (i've tried both). The battery is not overheated (it's cool to the touch). I tried removing everything and holding the power button (apparently that discharges some built up charge in the system) then reconnecting the battery and AC adapter, nothing.

I just downloaded the power manager which (when the laptop is, in fact, running off of AC power (the battery charge indicator hasn't draining in hours of continuous use) reads:

I originally bought this off eBay about 2 years ago. The only issue it has had is that the battery seemed to drain quickly as whenever I had the laptop on without the AC adaptor plugged in, the computer would shut off on its own within 10 seconds or so. As long as I plugged in the AC adaptor to the laptop, it ran with no problems However, when I tried to power on the laptop yesterday, even with the AC adaptor, it would no longer power on. I did just come back home from the airport, so maybe that had something to do with it? I followed all the steps here: https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001127.htm After following some of the steps, when I hit the power button on the laptop, it would flash for a second or so, and then stop flashing. Nothing ever appeared on the screen What is the next step for troubleshooting? Do I just have to remove the hard drive and/or RAM and place them back in and try powering it on again? Or take it to a repair shop?

A:Alt+ characters on Lenovo T430 keyboard

In order to execute those ASCII/ANSI codes, you must have NumLock on.  The involves the Fn (blue) key.  With it on, you then use alt  = the small numbers located on the lower right coner of keys to the right of the Trackpoint head.  This is not easy.  I prefer to run charmap.exe, minimize it to the task bar, and copy/paste the characters I need. I don't know if the old standard way (Num Lock On, ALT+nnn) would work with an external full keyboard.

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad T430 is not powering on.
Check if it's something to do with your AC adapter or battery. Insufficient power might cause some of those issues as well. Take the battery out and try to power on your laptop with the charger only. Make sure your laptop power jack and charger plug tip are securely connected. Try starting the laptop using good known AC adapter and battery.

Try connecting the device to an external monitor and check if it displays properly.

Please do let me know the happenings!

OK, Windows key on external keypad works OK.  Windows key plus shortcut keys (for example, Windows +T in Chrome for opening a new tab) does NOT work.  Normal alpha keys work AOK.   Device manager shows the 3rd party external keyboard as installed without issue.  The keyboard works on another computer (MacBook Pro 13") without issue.  Keyboard in question is a steelseries 6gv2. Interestingly, the issue is also occuring with the Lenovo thinkpad's very own keyboard (Windows + T not working!).   what gives?   O/S is Windows 7 - have just acquired the T430 2nd hand, so trying to test everything is AOK, etc.   I had an issue with sound not working via the lenovo's speakers too, but solved that (uninstalling realtek device drivers and letting Windows auto-install new drivers).   I hate Windows with a passion, but sadly, this laptop is designated to be used as my astro laptop for working in the field (PHD2, ascom drivers, mount control, acquisition software, etc).  There's pretty much nothing that runs native in OS X/MacOS sadly, so I'm being forced to run Windows crap.   I've owned several laptops in my life, and never had an issue with an external keyboard working out of the box, so this is very frustrating.  15 years in IT, experience in many different operating systems (mostly UNIX or GNU/Linux to be bluntly honest).   I haven't had a chance to RTFM yet for the T430, so I... First time posting, and not very educated when it comes to computers so bear with me. My screen cracked today on my T430. It still had image on the screen but very distorted. I have a working backup T430. I pulled the screen out of the back up and put in my main comp. My main will boot up (you can even hear the windows jingle but the screen had no power. I then tested both the good screen and cracked screen on the backup T430 and both lit up fine. But neither screen will work on the main T430. i then switched the cable that goes from the motherboard to screen but still same situation, works fine on the back up but not main. I hooked it up to my TV through the HDMI cable and I get the display/homescreen on the TV, and I can use the laptop like that. One thing I did notice is that when I boot the laptop up or shut it down there is a very very very slight change in the screen darkeness. I only notice this because the sun was behind me and shining on the screen. When I noticed this it had the craked screen installed. I tried to adjust the screen brightness with the laptop running but it didnt change anything Do you guys/gurls have any input or solutions? Thanks in advanced

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T430 with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver.  I have two monitors daisy chained with DP / mini DP cables.  I want to configure to a dual monitor display, but the second monitor is not recognized and is mirroring the first monitor.  DP1.2 is enabled on the first monitor, and disabled on the second monitor.  Any advice on how to get the computer to recognize the second monitor?  Thanks for any help!

Hi all, First of all I would like to take a moment and write my history with this experience. Last year I had a Dell Precision M4500 (i7-720QM and nVidia Quadro FX880M) which it had to be my eGPU machine. But using FL Studio alot, the cpu didn't kept the pace so I had to make a change. My research got to my Thinkpad T430 because Ivy Bridge platform can get you up to 90% of peak performance of your eGPU solution. When I had my Dell M4500, I have ordered the EXP GDC V8 Expresscard solution at a pretty fair and decent price (Christmas sales) from Banggood. Shipping to Romania was quite long, almost 2 months. In the meantime bought from a local guy, a Dell DA-2 220W power adapter which I heard it is plug'n'play. After arrival, I found out that I don't have the PCI-E power adapter for the graphic card, in my case a Gigabyte Radeon 6850 OC 1GB. That's the only card I have so, I was aware that I might need a display monitor. After another months of searching, found out on Banggood the holy PCI-E adapter specialy for EXP GDC solution. To be assured , bought 2 cables (just in case ) because the shipping was 1 month and 2 weeks (long, I know!). Well, last night I was dying to fire it up, so I put my Panasonic TV ( don't have a display monitor, lame, I know...) and put all cables and adapters together, the expresscard in T430 and fire it. My specs :i7-3610QM, 16GB HyperX Impact CL9, 1600x900, Intel HD4000 iGPU, Windows 7 64bit.After Windows loaded, my Radeon 6850 was found in D...
