X1 Carbon bluetooth not working

Q: X1 Carbon bluetooth not working

Hi, I just got my X1 Carbon. The bluetooth is not working. Its not even possible to switch it on and of. The button does not even exist. If I click the bluetooth button on my keyboard it only opens the actions center where the button should be located. If I go to settings and look at the bluetooth setings there should be a slide button to switch bluetooth on or off, but it is not there. How do I solve this. How do I get my bluetooth back?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After not using a bluetooth set for a while, it is no longer working with my X1 Carbon Gen 2. This same headset used to work with this computer and still works with a cellphone. However, with Bluetooth Enabled and the headset powered, the device shows up in the list of Bluetooth Devices and is shown to be of type Heaset. The Headset service option is enabled in its property settings too. It does not appear in the list of Playback devices, although the device paired properly. Things already tried to solve this but did not work:- Toggle Bluetooth antena on and off- Disable and renable Bluetooth- Update Bluetooth driver.- Uninstall and reinstall Bluetooth drive.- Update sound driver.- Uninstall and reinstall sound driver.- Even tried the bluetooth with the sound driver uninstalled! The problem always remains the same: Bluetooth is on, the device pairs and shows up in the list of Bluettoh device and has the headset service enabled, yet no sound comes out of it and it never appears in the list of playback devices. The X1 Carbon Gen 2 is running an up-to-date Windows 7 64-bit. The Lenovo System update shows that everything else is up to date. How can this be fixed? Thanks in advance, - Itai

It acts like there is no Bluetooth. Action center has no box for Bluetooth. Nowhere to turn it on or off. While searching for help, and discovering this site I also discovered my machine is subject to the voluntary recall.

I thought the same thing on my Yoga X1. I went to the settings (with the gear)> Devices> Bluetooth> + Add Bluetooth Device . Once you pair a device, headphones etc. The Bluetooth box will appear on the Action Center with your newly paired device in it. Good luck!

Hello. My X1 carbon 4th gen will not stay connected to my bluetooth speaker for more than 5-10 seconds before it disconnects and refuses to reconnect unless I delete the device and connect again, and it disconnects again (endless cycle).I know it isn't my speaker's problem because it connects fine with other devices. What I have tried so far is delete the Conexant audio drive and use a GGA109WW Realtek audio driver that I downloaded from this forum post from 2014 (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/x1-carbon-bluetooth-problem/m-p/1376335/highl...) and it works until the audio drive automatically gets updated to Conexant (I know because I tried the changing the audio drive withou wifi and the bluetooth will work until wifi connection is established which will allow the update to happen) At this point I know the problem is with the audio drive, not the bluetooth function of either the x1 carbon or the speaker, so I would like advice on how to fix this problem. Thanks,J

Sometimes the mouse will disconnect after couple of minutes and will not return to work until the computer will sleep and wake up again. I do not like to spend a free USB port for another keyboard since there are only 2 now. Please help!Ilan

I'm having some issues with the Bluetooth audio quality on my 3rd Gen X1 Carbon. My system is equipped with the Intel Wireless-AC 7265 Dual Band adapter.I have the latest drivers for the adapter, but this occurred even before updating them. I'm running Windows 10 with the latest updates. The machine shipped with Windows 7 and the problem occurred under Windows 7 as well. This issue occurs with both Bluetooth wireless headphones I own. Both pairs of headphones work fine with my Moto X Android phone operating in the same environment. What happens is that I get things that sound like static or popping while listening to any audio over Bluetooth. It doesn't seem to have an identifiable pattern, but it happens 1-5 times per minute. It'll happen with any audio source, including local music files, local video files, streaming music, & streaming video. These problems do not occur with wired headphones with the same sources.
I can temporarily fix the problem by telling the computer to forget the Bluetooth headphones, turning my headphones off, and then turning them back on and repairing. That'll cure it for a few hours to a few days, but then it annoyingly comes back.
Any help would be appreciated!

Looking for help but have not found any solutions on Google. I have a brand new X1 Carbon 6th Gen with Windows 10. No unusual installs except maybe Windows Subsystem for Linux and Docker Community (with a couple of containers running). The problems I have found so far are: - HDMI monitor seems to work intermittently and will start or stop working through sleep cycles and restarts. (I do see Thunderbolt controller under System Devices).  - My bluetooth headphones cause videos to stop and start every 15-ish seconds when on the "Stereo" setting COWIN E7 headphones - Brightness setting does not seem to stay consistent across restarts (currently no adaptive brightness enabled). I just started using Vantage so I will see if this is fixed - On Chrome, videos will not stay paused (youtube, Vimeo, etc). They do stay paused on Edge.  - Lenovo Service Bridge (LSB.exe) crashes every time I try to turn it on. I don't see any crash message but I see it pop up on Task Manager > Details but then it disappears within a couple of seconds.  Thanks in advance for any help on this. C.

2. Click Services in the Programs list that appears

3. From the Services window, browse the list of services and find the Bluetooth Support Service

4. Double-click Bluetooth Support Service

I want to play music on my mobile phone but listen the sound on my E5450 laptop, using bluetooth (not other methods)
I have paired the device with the laptop, but I see no options in Windows about what bluetooth services is Windows offering to paired devices.
The laptop is using latest Intel bluetooth driver for the device that appears in device manager with name "Intel Wireless Bluetooth", with these hardware ids:
USB\VID_8087&PID_0A2B&REV_0001
There is a "bluetooth headset service" on windows with start type manual, I've started hoping it would allow phone to "see" the laptop as a bluetooth audio headset but no change.
I remember old Windows had a "Services" tab sheet on the bluetooth settings but on my W10 is gone.
Is this gone for good from Windows 10, or only on my laptop? Using latest released windows version.

A:How to view/enable bluetooth services (bluetooth windows service is already working) on E5450 with Windows 10?

I?m not sure where to find that info, but streaming audio from your phone to the PC would require that the PC act as an A2DP target, and to my knowledge Windows only acts as an A2DP source.

My Acoustic Research AWSEE2BK speakers were working about 2 weeks ago (last time I used them) and today they would not connect. I removed and reinstalled them a couple of times, this has worked in the past when I have not been able to connect to them. At this point, they are installed under Bluetooth devices, but they are not in the device manager - they used to be under sound and game controllers - and of course not in the manage audio devices, where they also used to be. Today they ended up under Peripheral bluetooth device in the device manager, and the drivers could not be installed. After much monkeying around, I uninstalled them again, and then they quit showing up in the device manager too. I have spent many hours on many forums and pretty much every manufacturers website I think, and cannot figure this out. My bluetooth radios are Dell Wireless 1704 Bluetooth v4.0+HS and Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. I did go to the Broadcomm website and update the driver. I have also checked the Bluetooth support under features and made sure the settings were automatic and started, and I also re-started this feature. I have run the trouble shooter for playback devices and got no where because the speakers are not connected. Under device manager, when they were showing up as peripheral bluetooth devices, I tried to update the drivers from there. I have tried 'disabling' the built in computer speakers and reinstalling the BT speakers when the computer speakers were off and that did... Read more

Hello. So we have started to buy the x1 carbons and have run into an interesting issue.  What seems to be going on is that after we join the laptops to our domain and our login script runs the webcam microphone does not work anymore. I have called into tech support and talked with 4 techs in different depts with no real answers.  Now here is the very odd part about this that we can not wrap our heads around yet and i am looking for some advice.  1. All Dell laptops do not have this issue within the company for either windows 7 or windows 10.2.the microphone works just fine until the laptop is on the domain and the login scrips are ran. 3. login script disabled apps and the Microsoft store only. 4. have uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers and still the same.  The microphone does not show up with a conflict or being disabled in control panel. 5. On Thinkpad T480s  that is set up the same way and on the domain the mic works. So that has us believe it is something to do with how the x1 are set up but again tech support has no idea.6. Also tried to plug in an external mic and getting the same thing it dose not see the mic.7. When trying to run the windows speech after putting the x1 on the domain a pop up shows up stating that there is not a micosoft on the laptop.   a lot of this is tipping me toward it maybe being that the Microsoft store being d... I have an X1 Carbon 2nd generation and hooked to it a OneLink Pro dock. Attached to that are two external monitors, a keyboard, mouse, USB HD and ethernet.  I used to connect my headphones directly to my notebook but a few months ago I noticed that when my notebook is hooked to the dock the notebook's audio would not work. Not a giant problem becasue I could get audio feed via the dock. But, it is a problem when I am on a conference call because the Mic feed doesn't work in the dock.  To  join a conference call I have to unhook my notebook and use my headset with the notebook. Alternatively I can join the audio section of the call on my phone and then the webfeed on my notebook. Both are frustrating.  Can I force the audio/mic feedback on my notebook even when hooked to the OneLink doc?  Or, can the Mic feed go through the dock?

Is there a way we can change the touchpad Reverse scrolling option (Scroll --> Two Finger Scrolling --> Switch Direction) on the X1 Carbon through an automated way. We see that after Windows 10 upgrade, the scroll option on the touchpad has been changed. So doing it manually it works but we want to automate it either through a registry change or some other method. Yes manual changes works perfectly.

Touchpad doesn't work, xorg doesn't even recognize any touchpad present. Anyone else have this? Any solutions? This is actually my 2nd X1 carbon; the first works well but the mouse buttons are loose so Lenovo promised waived restocking and shipping with the purchase of a new order of equal or greater value; I ordered another one with plans to return the first one, because I really needed to keep it for work while I waited for the new one. The new one is actually flawless in terms of build, mouse buttons are solid, the CMOS battery is not loose and producing a rattling noise as it is in the first one, and the bottom cover doesn't have the clicking noise that so many are afflicted with. Really I'm willing to try anything to fix the touchpad.

Sunday night the Lenovo companion did a few updates including a BIOS update and also an update for the Synaptics, but I can't see it in the Installation History (it doesn't show up). Anyway, after that update, the touchpad doesn't move the mouse anymore. I can still click it, but it doesn't respond to any gestures. I checked in BIOS and it's enabled, I checked all possible settings and it's all enabled and on. Any ideas of what I could try?

I'm having the same issue - didn't realize the touchpad wasn't working until today. I notice it works very briefly when you first boot up and then the pad stops working (only clicks work)My type is 20HQ

Hi, i bought a used Carbon x1 G2 with a broken touchpad (didnt care, wanted to swap it for the one with buttons anyway). Sadly, the new Touchpad (the one for the T450s wich should be compatible with the X1) also doesnt work, they both dont show up in the device manager and yes, i have installed the newest Synaptics drivers and activated the Trackpad and TrackPoint (wich also doesnt work btw) in Bios. Can someone help?  Greetings from Germany Edit: My X1 model is 20A7 and i also bought a new Touchpad connection cable.
