I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I moved on to T470 after my wonderful (and still functional) T430 is deemed heavier and slower. Since I use my T470 as a working laptop, I need a docking station for the T470 so that I can avoid connecting the bundles of cables and charger everytime I step into the office. Several options come into the search criteria, mainly the USB3.0 and the mechanical dock. Just to clear my doubts, if I use the USB3.0 dock, do I still need to connect a charger? Alternatively, if I just buy a mechanical dock, would it be a all-in-one solution? Thanks in advance!!

Hi Lenovo, I have a strange issue with the USB-C Dock  If I plug-in my Logitech G502 mouse then it will work for a minute and then randomly hangs and freezes. If I plug-in the mouse directly into my Lenovo T470 then everything works fine What I've tried: - Update of Intel Chipset Driver- Update of Firmware (of Laptop and Docking Station)- Restart of laptop many times- Swap of docking station (exact same model)- Reinstall of Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver- Remove of device via device manager- Remove of Logitech G Software (and reinstall)  It doesn't matter where I plug the mouse into the docking station it will freeze after a minute for about 30 seconds. Then it will work again for 30 seconds and then freeze forever.  Laptop is connected via USB-C cable to the rear USB-C port of th dock so that the battery will be charged as well. Regards, Alex

Writing here to report a working solution a USB-C Dock for thinkpads. This is the unit I have working 100% with HDMI, gigabit ethernet, 2 usb ports, and a SD card reader for $20: https://amzn.to/2xL7mzj The only problem with this dock is that the USB-C cord is only 6 inches long. I tried 2 other USB extension cords that did not work or worked sporadically, then I found this one for $10 that works 100%: https://amzn.to/2DFebYA Because this dock only has 2 USB ports, I daisy chained an old 7 port USB hub into this dock, which works great for iDevices, android, keyboard, and mouse, etc: https://amzn.to/2OWEKJW It was kind of a pain to get this working configuration going due to issues I had with the non-working USB-C extension cords - I pass along this information to others to help! I have this configuration working for a T470 and a Lenovo Legion Y530 (non-Thunderbolt USB-C only).

I have ThinkPad T470 laptop with Windows 10 pro x64 installed. If I'm playing music through the laptop's speakers, as soon as I plug a cable into the dock's audio port no sound is heard. I can still use the laptop's audio port to connect external speakers, but that defeats the object of having an audio port on the Ultra Dock. I believe the driver of external speaker plugged into dock is well-installed and well-detected by the device managerI already set it as default audio output and can see the volume symbol up-and-down while testing it.I also had my T450 docked and the audio port from this Ultra Dock worked just as expected!! It seems everything works fine but still no sound can be heard when T470 is docked. Is it a bug when using Dock with T470 docked ??What do I need to do to get the Ultra Dock's audio port working?Anyone can help ?? I have a new T470 docked in a Lenovo ThinkPad Ultra Dock 90W connected to a Lenovo ThinkVision P27q screen. When I use a Display Port cable between the dock and the screen the "found new device sound" pings every like 5-10 seconds . Only when the computer enters Screen saver mode (no screen saver). Eventhough I have the sound to be relayed to the screen  where I have plugged in Headphones, instead of Laptop Speakers, the foud new device sound goes out through the Laptop speakers for all to hear. This can be VERY annoying to collegues when I go away.  Using a HDMI cable = no problem. This only happens using a DIsplay port mini on the dock to Display Port on the screen.  As the screen is black in this mode I can't see any error messages (Or found new device) on the screen. As soon as I go out of screen saver mode, by touching the mouse/keyboard the sound stops repeating. Any ideas?

Anyone experience with connecting the P70 with TB3/USB-C to a docking station? Some of these docking stations provide power for the laptop, which is great for smaller laptops, but not for a beast like the P70, with its 230W power supply brick. My question: will I damage the P70 when I connect it to a TB3/USB-C dock that has Power Delivery (PD) capabilities?

I need separate laptops for work and personal use, but I want one mechanical dock on my desk that is compatible with both. I want a 15.6" screen for work and a 14" screen for personal. I presently use a W530 and a T430 with the Mini Dock Plus Series 3 type 4388 dock. This has been fantastic. I need to update my work laptop and am foced into a P50 if I want a 15.6" screen. I'm expecting to need to update my personal laptop at the same time (something like a T470) and get a new docking station. I'm having a hard time finding a common mechanical dock. I have checked the Options Compatibility Matrix which identifies the Thinkpad Workstation Dock 40A50230US for the P50. However, the OCM identifies several mechanical docks for the T-series which do not include the Workstation Dock. Are the P and T series indeed now incompatible for mechanical docks? I'm looking for deeper analysis than the typical power supply wattage check - are the connectors really incompatible? I saw some mention in the forum of unlisted dock compatability but needing to pay special attention to seating the laptop in the dock. I'm aware that the OCM shows USB dock compatability between the P and T series, e.g. the 40A80045US Ultra dock. However, this option has several compromises such as requiring a separete power connection and only having one display port and 2+2 USB ports. If there is not a common mechanical dock between the P50 and the T-series, can you please suggest alternatives? Are there ... Hello, I am new to the community and need help with a laptop/dock/monitor configuration.
I have the following hardware I would like to connect for an efficient office.
Laptops

XPS 15 (9550)
XPS 12
Latitude 7480 (mini-DP port)

Monitors

2715Q
2417H

Docks

WD15
TB16

Ideally I would like a dual monitor setup running the 2715Q @ 4K60Hz and 2417H at 1080P. Using the WD15 which is compatible with the Latitude I top out at 30Hz on the 4K and the 24" is fuzzy unless I direct connect the HDMI to the Latitude. I bought the TB16 with Thunderbolt hoping it has better through put for the monitors.
The drivers have been installed for the dock on the XPS 15, works fine, and Latitude. When connected to the TB16 for with full sized DP cable the 2715Q is not receiving a signal from the Latitude. I searched but could not tell if the TB16 + dual monitors (4K) would work on the Latitude with a mini-DP USB C port.
Looking for advice on the best configuration. Thank you.

A:TB16 Dock Compatibility Help

Thunderbolt is optional on the Latitude 7480; the default configuration is just regular USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, which provides only enough bandwidth for a single 4K @ 60 Hz display and even then only when the USB-C port is being used SOLELY for video output, e.g. through a basic USB-C to DisplayPort adapter. If the device connected to the USB-C port also wants to handle USB traffic, as would be the case with a dock like the WD15, then regular USB-C only provides enough display bandwidth to properly run a single 4K @ 30 Hz display, which is why you get a fuzzy result when you try to drive a 1080p display on top of your 4K display through the WD15.
Thunderbolt by comparison can handle dual 4K @ 60 Hz displays while also carrying other traffic -- but again, only if your system has it.  To check that, go into your system's BIOS and find the Thunderbolt Settings area.  If the options are configurable, you have it; if everything is grayed out, you don't.  If you have Thunderbolt and things still aren't working, make sure you have your system BIOS, Thunderbolt software/driver, Thunderbolt firmware, and graphics drivers all installed and updated.  If you don't have Thunderbolt, then the TB16 won't work at all, except maybe to charge the system.

Problem: W530 not charging with Mini Dock Plus Series 3 1. My W530's battery charges when not plugged into my Mini Dock Plus Series 3. 2. When the W530 is attached to the dock at first the Windows power icon shows that the W530 is connected to the power brick, and shows that it is charging. Charging lasts for about 15 seconds.  Then it stops charging (but continues to show that it is connected to the power brick) and runs from the battery, I can watch the % charge constantly lower. 3. I have updated the BIOS and Drivers from the Lenovo site, this made no difference. 4. I carefully cleaned the contacts on the W530 and dock, this made no difference. 5. None of the pins on the W530 or dock appear to be damaged, I closely examined them with a magnifying lens. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or ideas to resolve tis problem? Thanks, Bob

Hi I have a W520 with NVidia Quadro 2000M and 2 x Dell U2515H monitors. The Dell user guide says to enable DP 1.2 which I have done on both monitors. I have the W520 on a Mini Dock 4338 and monitor 1 is connected to that via a DisplayPort cable. On monitor 1 I then have a DP cable in the Out port going in to monitor 2 via the In port. My problem is that I can only get a duplicate display on both Dell monitors. When I use the NVidia control panel (version 8.1.870.0) & try to set up multiple monitors it only shows one monitor. I looked in Personalization and click on Detect it shows both Dells as monitor 1. I want to extend the displays. Any help appreciated.

Hi therePlanning to order a 2nd generation X1 Yoga (20JE). According to the OCM (March edition, which, however, does not mention 20JE, but explicitly states X1 Yoga 2nd gen) among others, both the USB 3.0 Pro Dock (40A70045) and the Onelink+ dock (40A40090) would be compatibel with the Yoga, not howeber the USB-C dock (40A90090) or the Thunderbolt 3 Dock (40AC0135). I'd appreciate this in principle, as I still have the Onelink+-Dock of the 1st generation X1 Yoga. But I cannot entirely believe it, as the pictures I found of the 2nd generation X1 yoga do not show any Onelink+-Connector, but it has USB.C/Thunderbolt 3 connectors according to the specs. So what is true?
