I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I want to copy a paragraph from an email and put it in a letter I am writing in snail mail (MS Word.) I highlight, right click, and with the cursor in the highlighted text, click Copy. Then I go to the MS Word page, put the cursor where I want to paste, right click for the menu and Cut, Copy and Paste are not activated. Up above in the tool bar they are also not activated. I went to Tools, Options, Edit and the little check mark is in the command marked "Show Paste Option buttons."

After what I have learned from you guys and girls, I have no doubts that you will come right back with the answer to this. Never before have I come across anyone as computer astute as you people in this website.

Thank you so very much.

Ive been having a problem after copying and pasting text into an email and the content has changed after I have sent the email. I have tried copying the text from MS Word (2007), from a different email, from Notepad and pasting it into the email I want to send and they all look fine before sending the email. The only way I know that the content has changed (minor formatting changes, font size changes and adding in a few characters and symbols) is when I go into sent mail and it is not the same as when I sent it. Can anyone help?

When I used Netscape w/Excite email, it wasn't a problem.
I could open the bookmark manager and copy and paste

Now it won't paste bookmarks into the same Excite email,

I'm sure there's a reason, and more to the point a way to

Thanks!!

I too have exactly the same problem.

I use Yahoo mail and can`t copy and paste from firefox into the email window. I can do this with no problems, if I use IE.

As far as I`m aware, this is a bug in Firefox. See HERE.

Sometimes I have problems with copy and paste in general. I wish the makers of Firefox, would get this bug fixed asap.

Can someone help me make sense of this? I have Outlook Express and have tried EVERYTHING to filter out these emails. As of now, his emails go straight to my Deleted Folder due to the rule I set up. The "How do I paste...." thread is closed, but I have a similar problem
I am using Win XP sp3, and Yahoo Plus mail, and IE 8.
I have tried every which way (except for the correct one, apparently) to place/imbed jpg photos into the body of my email messages. Yahoo email "options" is set to "compose messages as color and graphics" and I'm working in Rich Text mode.

I read one suggestion which led me to try uploading my photo to Picasa web albums, then copy the image from there and pasting in the email body. No success.

I am able to paste a "frame" (box outline w/ handles) into a Yahoo + message, including a small "logo" in the upper left corner [MS Picture Manager?], but when I r-click on that and choose "show picture" -- nothing happens.

I can attach jpg files to Yahoo + mail messages, but I would prefer to have the occasional photo, intact, in the body of my message.

Hello. I read a forum today where you helped this person find out who an anonymous emailer was. Well i have been getting emails for months (since last October) from a [email protected], who has been tryin to destroy the self esteem of my baby's mother by talkin about her, her family, and even our newborn. I am almost positive that i know this person personally because they posted a website on myspace in October giving out all my private information (which they had questioned other people about me because they knew things no one person should know). It took myspace 3 months to delete the account, and they didnt give me any information even after having proof. I have done reverse email searches and no luck there. So i come to you, with an email header from this email address, in high hopes of you being able to track the ip address and tell me "something". Thanks alot!

Hello guys,

I have a quick question regarding IP information in email headers.

I've been emailing with someone, and in the last email, the person revealed the town I live in.
I haven't given any info at all, not on my location or name for that matter. It's basically a stranger with no possibility to know me or anyone close to me.

I understand when I log in to write an email, the IP of the sender is in the email header. But when I check my IP, it doesn't reveal my town but a total different location so I am trying to work out how this was obtained and if there is something I can do about it, or if I should be worried about anything at all? I don't want a stranger showing up near where I live.

Thank you

A:IP from email header?

The IP address is based on where you logged in (if you're using POP e-mail), or the actual server location, if you're using webmail (e.g. Yahoo).  So:
1.  You live in city ABC, your ISP when you log on established your connection in city XYZ.  The IP will be in city XYZ.  The next time you log on, if your ISP has servers in your town, then it could be city ABC.
2.  If you log into webmail (e.g. gmail), then it will be the IP of the webmail server.
Have a great day!

I keep getting emails from myself and I have done some research online about finding out the origon of these emails as I know they arent from myself. All tutorials if you will say to look for the Received line or the first received line if there are multiples, and the information is there; however, there is no received line in any of the headers. There is a line X-nupop-filename and in it it starts with /Maildir: followed by a series of numbers ending with a .net address and ,S=3115. I am wanting to know if this information is found someplace else or maybe a way to find the IP which seems to be hidden as well.

Most of the time I have know trouble finding the ISP but this is the first one I ever seen that the header is longer then the email. I had to find how long this header was and found it is 69 pages long. I have ran checks for virus, malware. spyware and find nothing. But to look at it it looks likes some type of program.
So my question is dose anyone know where to send this to have it check out . If it is some type of virus maybe by see this someone can stop it before it starts.
Just tell me where to send it .

BTW, I did search your site for info. before posting. What caught my attention was a similar query from someone in Canada. Last Wednesday I sent 7 emails, each to individual recipients in various countries. One, to Canada, was received with [Bulk] prefixed to the header -- which I only discovered when she responded.

I've checked with the other 6 correspondents: their emails did not have [Bulk] in the header.

Since then, paranoia has set in. I've repeatedly updated/run my current security programs (AVG, with Spybot as double-check). The firewall is ZoneAlarm. I've now installed rootkit checkers. I've also used on-line virus/malware checkers (Kaspersky, Panda and McAfee). Apparently, my system is clean. However, until I get to the root of this, I'm afraid to buy or bank on-line.

My Canadian correspondent has emailed to say that she sometimes receives emails with [Bulk] in the header, even though she knows that they were individual missives. Co-incidentally, there were 6 emails in the Spam box, albeit none from Canada, all dated yesterday, when I logged onto my AOL email today. (I rarely find anything in the Spam box.)

Something must be wrong somewhere! Is it at my end? Or is it at the Canadian end (their ISP/email account is rogers)? Help!!!

I only get the short heading (Date, From, To, Subject), so you must have something set to view the full header.

No matter, I can't understand why you can't delete or edit just a portion of the included message and header.

Hi

I need help creating Outlook header and footers
I've read up how to do this and it seems straight forward

What I want though is: to give the end user a 'file'
And then have this 'file' install immediately on their machine without them having to do anything

+ is it possible to have variable parameters
So for example, I would have a generic template and then I could pass in different parameters for different users - the parameters would be their names

What do I need to do to achieve this?

Thanks

That is one way that viruses and other malware spread. Any anti-virus or internet security program that is worth anything would delete or quarantine your file and notify the recipient of a possible attack by you.

I have just updated to Outlook 2013 from 2003 a mistake I know.

I always like to have my list of emails above and the individual email open below.

Now with 2013 it uses so much of the bottom pane for displaying stuff I don't want like the photo place holder and the font is huge for the header of the email.

I have looked in the settings and can't find anything to shrink this down more like 2003 and a Google search hasn't turned up anything (probably using the wrong search terms).

Is it possible to do anything about this?

fact that (after I selected the custom selection option rather than the automatic selection for which files to copy) that the Windows file was no longer listed on the "C" drive menu provided in the backup program. It is certainly listed on my "C" drive when I bring it up directly, so can anyone explain to me quickly what that's all about?

Hey Guys,
my outlook is in German, which I don't mind (I'm German), but I do mind, that when I send emails, that the header of the original email (from: to: cc is in German, because I email mostly with english speaking people.

How do I make outlook write english headers into emails in which I reply or forward an original message?

If I have to change of the whole interface to English, that's fine. I just need to know how to do that.

Thanks!
Flo.

I am using Outlook 2002 and selected (1) html as email format and (2) "Use Microsoft Word 2002 to edit email messages." Problem is that Outlook attaches one or more empty browser documents called header.htm to each outgoing email. When opening this file (header.htm), it contains nothing.

If I deselect "Use Microsoft Word to edit email messages" no header file is attached. What do I have to do to send emails using the html format while using Microsoft Word to edit messages without this attached header.htm?

My operating system is XP with Service Pack 2 installed.

Thanks in advance for your help

A:Using Word as email editor in Outlook attaches header.htm files

From what I can find it "appears" to be in normal.dot

" It sounds like normal.dot or email.dot has been modified where text/fields
are included in the header/footer. You will need to make sure nothing is in
either of these two fields or the recipient will always receive the
header.htm file."

IF you have not knowingly customized the normal.dot then you can delete it and Word will creat a clean one.

my outlook 2003 only shows the email header and no text in the body. it seems coincidental but it started happening after i added email access to my smartphone. i was trying to get access on my phone as well as my laptop. now when i receive an email, regardless of whether i get it on the phone or the laptop directly thru the outlook client on my laptop, it only has a header and no body. have you ever run into that before?

A:outlook 2003 email shows header only no text in body

Hi pnbs44
Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

Has this issue been solved?

If not, if you double click the header, in Outlook 2003, does Outlook download the body of the message?
If it doesn't check this setting in Outlook 2003:
Tools > Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings > Define Send/Receive Groups

Click the: Edit button.
On the left side all mail accounts associated with this group will be listed, click each mail account and verify on the right side that the option: Download complete item including attachments is selected.

If that option was already selected, do you have the setting Leave a copy of messages on the server enabled?
In Outlook 2003:
Tools > E-mail Accounts > View or change existing e-mail accounts > Next
Select the first e-mail account and click: Change
Click the: More Settings button
Select the: Advanced tab

Place a check mark in: Leave a copy of messages on the server
I do not have a smartphone, does it have similar options for downloading messages, as in Leave a copy of messages on the server, or downloading the full message or just the headers?
Let us know what you find. If you have already solved this issue, future readers may benefit if you post your solution.

I have a situation where someone has 2 email addresses. One of them is now redundant and I have deleted it from the People section. However, when I am set to make a new email to that person and type the first letter of their name, in the pop up window (that you can click on) their old email address still appears.
How do I delete this from that list? Can find no way to do so.

A:Outlook Email - Deleting Wrong Email Entry when starting new email

In new email, start typing the address you want to remove. When you have enough characters for auto complete to show it (sometimes one letter is enough), use DOWN ARROW key on keyboard to select the address in question and press DEL key.

That's it.

Hello.
I have a large email group - over 200 names - in Outlook Express Address Book. A number of outdated email addresses bounced back to me. I wish to remove them from my Group. But OE seems to list only names, not email addresses. I cannot find a way to search by email address. Therefore I am faced with the task of looking up each name's properties to see if it's the email I need to eliminate.
Surely there must be a better way!
Or should I just find a better program to use? If so, suggestions?
Thanks.

A:Solved: Removing email addresses from Outlook Express Email Groups

you can always use the contact search bar at the top, enter the email, then that corresponding contact should appear. delete that contact and it will be deleted from any groups.

i am using windows xp home edition..
thanks..

A:Solved: wrong email spelling in auto complete email address

Delete Firefox auto-complete entries

There is also an add on for firefox that allows you to manage autocomplete

Available features include:

* matching against bookmark addresses
* matching against page titles and bookmark names
* matching anywhere in the address, not just the beginning
* changing the sorting criterion to alphabetical by address or title, most frequently visited, most recently visited, or top-level pages first
* completing the best match inline
* temporarily or permanently disabling the suggestion popup
* excluding local pages and pages containing search results
* swapping the address and title columns on the suggestion popup
* highlighting the column where a match was found
* fine-tuning the popup appearance by hiding page titles, changing the number of visible suggestions, and setting the truncation method for long addresses and page titlesClick to expand...

Hi -
I Cannot cut and paste from an Outlook email into other applications, such as word, notepad, and chrome. This is only in regards to the body of emails. If I cut and paste the senders email address from outlook it works, but not anything in the body
of the message. I need to be able to copy this information into notes in our system for history/tracking.
Thanks.

When copying from "Word" and pasting into "Windows Mail"
Links still look like links but when I test them by sending email to myself
they do not respond or give error message in registry as follows:
"res://ieframe.dll/syntax.htm#"
and of course the typical message on web page is:

" the address is not valid"

Same thing, of course, happens to my contacts when they click on link in my email.

They have to type it into registry to go where I am recommending,... NOT COOL!!!

Yes I have TYPED IN same URL at email level rather than paste from Word and
it works just fine.

Not problem with XP

What vista's quirk on this?

I Like writing in Word and then transfering to email and send.

How do I do it?

Thanks for ur help guys and gals,... that is if u can,... bye!!!!
