Asus P5Q-E motherboard bios update utility software won't install?

Q: Asus P5Q-E motherboard bios update utility software won't install?

I am trying to update the BIOS and went here to use their update utility:

ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P5Q-E

However, the software Afudos BIOS update tool V2.36 will not load (3rd item of the above web page's list)!?!?

What do I do now? Any other BIOS update utility compatible to the Asus P5Q-E?

I am having these problems: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...ing-start.html

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Asus P5Q-E motherboard bios update utility software won't install?

You could have a corrupt file. I would down load a new copy and try it.

Here is a link to Asus for your board.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P5Q-E

If that doesn't work here is a link to an engineering ver of AFUDOS that may work.

Afudos Engineering - Download

Try those out as the first attempt. The engineering ver will let you downgrade if you need to.

I am building a new pc, and I purchased an ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3 MB a couple of weeks ago...I suspect that the BIOS is of around April - 2010...(302)....I will save the current BIOS to a Flash Drive, before updating current BIOS, but my question is....there are a lot of newer versions, with the latest being 901....If I download the latest version, does it encompass all the other version updates prior ? I intend to use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit....Thanks in advance....

Hi.
i've recently decide to update all of my PC components , and stuck on motherboard bios.
can you help me with it ?
i've red the manuals , and it says to download "asus update utility" on their site , but when im choosing "windows 7 64" and downloading the utility it says that i should download 64 bit application .
so is there any other way to update my bios ? or... im lost a bit

A:Asus m4a88t-m motherboard BIOS update

I suggest using the EZ Flash utility, rather than updating the BIOS from within Windows. It's invoked from within the BIOS setup. RTFM. (If you've mislaid the manual, it's available for download from support.asus.com.)

No download required, other than the BIOS file itself.

I think that EZ Flash is safer than Windows. It may be as good as flashing from DOS.

Note : I dont know where to put this topic. If you know better , move it.

I already asked some questions here, some members helped me a lot but I need help again.

In one topic I asked how to Overclock. I learned it , and know more about it.
But now my problems is my BIOS. I dont know how to use it. That isnt classic....
I dont have to edit time or HDD slave, not to do anything harder !

My BIOS is same as http://images.anandtech.com/doci/4499/ASUS%20BIOS%201%20-%20EZ%20Main.png

My motherboard is ASUS P8H61-M LX2 and it have latest ASUS BIOS (EFI BIOS Utility- EZ mode , I attached one link here to see).

My questions are :
1. Can I back normal BIOS like one old ?
2. How to use that ? Is there any tutorial for this ?

That is all for now.
Thanks in advance.

Did you read your MB manual. It has a section on the Bios that explains all the options. If you click on the Advanced Mode it will look a lot like the old bios with lots of options.

Hi there,
My sister just bought a new desktop. It was working fine and all. But this morning, she forced shut down a windows update. The next thing happen once it gets past through BIOS is
"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"
So I told her to look at the BIOS setting and it only recognise the Optical Disc Drive of
"SATA SM: TSSTcorp CDDVD SH-2"
as shown in the picture below

Is there anything I can do? I tried opening the desktop case and see everything is loose, but everything was still in tact.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

A:Hard Disk Drive not found in ASUS UEFI BIOS Utility - EZ Mode

Try reinstalling the driver, changing cables. If it can't be recognized then boot the maker's diagnostics DOS CD scan to test it - Seatools if there isn't one - or Partition Wizard bootable CD surface scan. If these won't see it you can slave it to another PC to try Disk Check or see if it will see it. If not then I'd replace it.

Do a Clean Reinstall on the replacement drive from tutorial in my signature below if you want it perfect.

I have an onboard ATI HD 3200 graphics + an PCIe ATI HD 4350 together in SurroundView mode and everything works fine. However I don't understand the following 4 options in the BIOS. What is the difference between the setting? I have it on the first one and everything seems to work fine.

A:ATI SurroundView + Asus Motherboard + BIOS question

It's the order in which the motherboard sets the Primary VGA graphics.
So as you have an added 4350 connected to a monitor, this is GFX0 and is the primary card that will be used to run Games etc. Surround view turns on the onboard VGA as a secondary graphics output for a 3rd monitor as the 4350 can have 2 monitors.

Greetings all,

I have searched up and down the forums for an answer to this, and my issue is slightly more specific than most.

This is a rundown of my setup:

OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+
RAM: 1022 MB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2 , 512 MB
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC., M3N78 PRO, 1.XX, MS1C92B34902999
CD/DVD: Sony DVD-RW+/- (Failure, Not Functioning at the Moment)

I think that's all that is currently relevant to the issue.

I purchased Windows 7 Ultimate from NewEgg, Received my discs, awesome. - used the Windows 7 USB DVD Tool to install windows onto an external drive of mine, which is plugged in via USB. Reason for this is, my DVD drive as listed above is not currently functioning, so I wanted to install via USB.

Well of course, I run SETUP upon powering on my pc, and there are no options under boot priority related to USB at all. My options are still: Hard Disk, CD Drive, Removable Devices. I know the computer is recognizing the drive, because when I move to the hard-disk portion of the BIOS, it shows the drive listed.

Granted, I am not a computer wiz, I do know a lot and am well rounded in almost all aspects, but this I am not. Am I missing something? When the computer recognizes the drive that I have plugged into via USB, that to me says the port and USB are functioning correctly. The drive fully works when in Windows. A:Can't find HP system BIOS update utility for

Hi @zavorfang Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for your post.   Personally, I do not recommend you update the BIOS unless you experience some issues with your existing BIOS and you are sure that the new BIOS will fix it. General recommendation I provide to users/customers is NOT to upgrade BIOS/UEFI unless they experience any kind of specific BIOS/UEFI issue. Updating just for updaing and just for using the latest verson is not solution. Any kind of update (no matter for what and who relesed it) can fix 2 issues but may introduce 10 more issues. Additionally, upgrading the BIOS (for any vendor) poses more risks because BIOS recovery is not that easy as compared to typical software updates IF something goes wrong. Same applies for Windows Updates, OS update, drivers updates, etc - upgrade/update IF you have issues which you know are fixed in the newer version or for some severe security issues. Otherwise, keep the existing version as long as possible.  With regards to the specific question and if you do insist on updating the BIOS and if you really need to do it, please follow these instructions in the official article >>> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00042629Follow the method "when Windows does not start" >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00042629#AbT1 The particular file that you show a video of can be downloaded (product specific) from HP servers/web site >> http://sup... There's not even a boot screen image on load up (of ASUS logo and menu at the bottom outlining which key to press for bios etc) which there was on my previous computer.

Version 5.0.2.1002 has been released and can be downloaded from here.

Make sure that your Intel chipset is among the list of supported ones before installing the update.

Once the install is complete, you can verify its install by going into the registry at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Intel - Infinst.

The new version number should appear, along with showing the install to be successful.

After extraction of the files, nothing launches so I don't get any menu to choose to create a USB stick install. How can I get a working HP System Update Utility or how can I launch the sp76205.exe is such a manner that I'll be presented with the menu to create a USB stick? I have an issue with the SATA BIOS settings which have options for configure as IDE, or set it to as AHCI. So now I can only boot Vista when it is set to AHCI, and only boot the XP when the BIOS SATA is set to configure as IDE, and if not it gives a stop code error 07B. And I did search for a ASUS P5QL Pro motherboard BIOS update, and I have the lattest version apparently. Also I did look in each one's Device Manager to check for driver updates, such as for the serial ATA controllers. So how can I boot both without changing the BIOS setting each time ? I dual boot with the Vista boot manager, and in my motherboard manual it does say; "Due to Intel chipset driver support regulation, the AHCI mode is not supported in Windows XP environment, and is only supported by Vista with OS built in driver. If I try to boot either XP or Vista without changing the SATA BIOS settings, it gives stop code; 07B.

Have the drives been showing up in the BIOS recognized correctly? Have you tried using boot disks? Are you installing XP Pro or Home? How are you formatting the drives? Are you doing a quicky, or did you do a full wipe (zero fill)? It sounds like you have a boot sector virus or something. I would reflash the BIOS. Then set it to fail safe defaults.

I have a Flex 4 1480 Signature Edition ideapad 80VD0007US and I'm trying to update the BIOS via the System Update utility.  When I choose to install the suggested update for the BIOS I get a message stating that this BIOS is only for "510S14IKB 310S15IKB YOGA 510-14IKB YOGA 510-15IKB" - none of which is my machine I'm pretty sure.  What can one do to find the correct BIOS and update it if the System Update utility doesn't give you the correct one?

The Lenovo Settings utility says that my BIOS is currently: 2SCN23WWV2.03

Thanks for any help!

A:Flex 4 1480 - Incorrect BIOS in Lenovo System Update utility

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Sorry to hear of the difficulties you are experiencing.  The warning message you are receiving during the update is partially correct.  Your model should have been included in that warning since that BIOS update covers all the models listed.   Here is a full description from the BIOS update's README file....

Flash BIOS update - Flash from Operating System version for ideapad 510S-14IKB, 310S-14IKB, 310S-15IKB, Yoga 510-14IKB, Yoga 510-15IKB, Flex 4-1480, Flex 4-1580Version 2SCN25WW(V2.05)Applicable OS Win10

I would try the upgrade again and click to proceed.  Otherwise here is a direct download link to that BIOS upgrade from the Lenovo Download Library for your model....

Regarding my ASUS P4P800 Deluxe MOBO...

Recently updated BIOS version from 1010 to 1019...

Now when I boot the machine, I get the regular POST plus a second screen of some VIA RAID utility searching for IDE devices...

Is there anyway to disable this 'scan'??

It's annoying only because I really have no use for it, I do not use RAID.

Hi Guys,

I have a REAL newbie question. I?ve tried reading a bunch of tutorials, but they?re a little over my head. I think my question is pretty basic, but after a couple hours research, hopefully someone here would be kind enough to help.

I have an M2A-VM motherboard and my system keeps freezing up, no input from keyboard or mouse, no ctl-alt-del, nothing. It freezes intermittently, but never goes more than 3 hours without freezing, sometimes freezes in a few seconds, with 5 ? 10 minutes being the average time it works before freezing. Seems to freeze more (often immediately) when I?m using the mouse than any other time, but it will freeze on it?s own, just idling, if you give it enough time.

I?ve read a few things including updating bios and downloading the latest motherboard drivers. My problem starts when I go to download the mobo drivers from this page:

ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

It lists 41 driver updates there for my motherboard:

41 files found

Qualified Vendor List (1)

BIOS (20) [BIOS History]

BIOS-Utilities (1)

Chipset (1)

AUDIO (1)

LAN (1)

Utilities (2)

Manual (14)

And apparently I?m ?missing? these Windows Updates:

Q934062 - Important
Q936960 - Important
Q950130 - Critical
Q951550 - Important
Q951944 - Important
Q973923 - Moderate

Question #1: Do I download all 41?? Surely my machine can?t need 41 updates? How do I know which ones to download and install?

Question #2: ... Read more

A:Windows Update INCLUDES Motherboard Drivers and BIOS Update on M2A-VM?

I have the same board on another pc.

You only need to download and install only that which would make your setup current.

You really only need to update the bios if you will be moving up to a newer processor that is not currently supported by the current bios or if the newer bios fixes a known problem.

You need the latest motherboard chipset driver. (I would install this first if you haven't already)

You need the latest LAN driver.

The audio driver you can either download from Asus or from RealTek.
