USB host to host bridge driver not found !

Q: USB host to host bridge driver not found !

I need drivers for an old cable mark as (Wiretec) USB host to host bridge which contain the chip GL620USB-A , It has color like Green and aboud 2 meters.

Does someone know where I can find a device driver so that USB will work. Right now only my USB host to host bridge is not recognized/enabled. I can't find anywhere a device driver; neither on the included CD(It's damaged) nor the internet.

If there's no driver available, are there any alternatives so.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi guys.

I've been having some BSOD probs, so I'm currently updating all of my drivers.

The only one I can't find an update for is called PCI Standard Host CPU Bridge. Could you point me in the right direction, so I can get the update?

Also, for some reason, PCI Standard Host CPU Bridge is listed twice in Device Manager... and both entries seem identical. Would this mean I have to update both?

Many thanks

Some spec info:

Dell Inspiron 1764 Laptop
64 Bit Windows 7 Home Premium (SP1)
Intel Core i5 2.27 GHz
Motherboard: Dell 0TKV96

A:PCI Standard Host CPU Bridge

can no-one help me with this?

i know i'm supposed to update ALL my drivers before trying to solve a BSOD problem.

i downloaded driver detective and it's telling me the only driver that still needs updating is for 'PCI Standard host CPU Bridge.'

i just can't find anywhere on the web where i can download a newer version of this for win 7 64 bit. the version i have is 6.1.7601.17514 - which is dated 21.6.2006.

does anyone know where i can find a newer version?

i feel like i can't look at any other BSOD causes until all drivers are up to date.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, and have installed the Virtual XP mode.  A long time ago Virtual XP was fully running, with access to host resources (drives etc).  But my system underwent some software changes, and then Virtual XP could no longer

I can successfully ping the host, via name or IP address;  I can successfully ping web sites by name (e.g. 'yahoo.com').  But when I open Windows Explorer and open the 'My Network Places' tree, it opens down to the name of my host workgroup, but
when I click on that workgroup name, after several seconds it pops up an error box saying: "<workgroupname> is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  <blah blah>.  The service has not been

I have a local area network of four Windows 7 PCs. The PCs are named Term1, Term2, Term3 and Term4.

Term1 is the server PC.

When I map to Term1 from the other Terms(2,3 and 4) I always used the command:
Net use F: \\Term1\c /user:Admin 1234

This worked fine before; now it suddenly refuses to connect this way ? I have to replace Term1 with the actual IP address of Term1 for it to work.

have tried the following Admin CMD commands:

int ip reset

All of these commands make no difference; I just can't connect using the server name (Term1).

What I strangely noticed is that from any of the terminals connected to Term1 (using the IP address); if I use, for example, ping Term1,
I get an address return of;
this address of will
display if I ping to Term2, Term3 or Term4.

I cannot find any solution on the web for this strange problem.

I've been trying to solve this problem for days now without success, so help would be highly appreciated!

I have a home network set up with 3 computers behind a Router. The problem is that when I use my own computer to host games or act as server in just about any program, the other LAN computers aren't enable to find me (and neither are people from the outside.) I got this problem for no particular reason a few weeks ago, and I only have it on this single computer, which makes me kinda suspect that it's something with windows. I don't have the XP firewall turned on and file and printer-sharing works fine. It's just this thing with hosting games...

Has anyone had a similiar problem or know what could possibly be wrong?

Today I got a WD usb 3.0 PCI-e card. WDBFJ0000NNC

I installed the software on the CD it came with. Then I put the card into a free PCI-e slot. When I restarted the computer, windows gives a message that the device driver was not successfully installed. Specifically the "NEC Electronic USB 3.0 Host Controller". Any external hard drives (All WD drives) I plug it is not registered by windows.

In device manager the "NEC Electronic USB 3.0 Host Controller" has a caution (exclamation)on it.
If I look at the card, it lights up so power isn't a problem.
Does anyone know how to get the card to work?
I don't know much technical language so any simple instructions would be appreciated.

OS: windows 7 home premium 64 bit
motherboard: Intel H67 Revision B3

You should have plugged it in first, and then installed the software.

Uninstall the software, reboot, and then try and install it again. Leave the device in the PCI-e slot.

I know this is a well documented situation and I have seen and read a lot of information about the problems others have had with the USB 3.0 Host controller. My situation is that I have followed several different solutions only to wind up with USB's on the 3.0 hub not working after reboot. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, tried this solution with several different recommended drivers for my Dell Inspiron 14z. I have also followed solution that has me delete the INFCACHE.1.
So what I have seen in my case which I have not seen anyone else talk about specifically is this.
If I leave my USP cables plugged into the computer on restart I loose all USP 3.0 functionality, when I try to run the USB 3.0 Host Controller Utility I see that I get the message "USB 3.0 Host Controller Not Found". If I unplug my USB cables and restart (or shut laptop down and then unplug USB 3.0 and restart) I get full USB 3.0 functionality. I have to wait until I see the login screen on Windows 7 home premium 64 bit to plug in the USB cables, if I try befor this I see that the Hub is recognized during BIOS then lost during the beginning phase of OS boot.

When I leave the USB cables plugged in and restart the BIOS stalls about half way through and instead of taking about min to run bios and boot to login screen it can take anywhere from 5 to 10 min to boot to login screen (USB is recognized during BIOS but lost during OS boot).

I am attached to a 1TB WD Passport external hard... Read more

I have two problems regarding e-mail from the exchange server and they might be related. Just for the record: We use Exchange 5.5 on a NT server with service pack 5 and all the workstations uses NT4, sp5 with outlook as mail client.

1. few user complain that when they send mail from home or receive mail form outside the company the might get a return e-mail a few hours till a day later stating something about 8-bit mime conversion problem.

2. When sending mail externally users sometimes get error messages like: connection to aalsmeer.nl failed, no IP address found from exchange.(ourcompany).nl with an IP address and e-mail address and then server received winsock error host not found. The e-mail address is correct and most other mail works perfectly from and to our company. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

A:exchange - host not found and other

First and foremost, you should really be using the latest SPs - 6a for NT Server and Workstation, 4 for Exchange (understanding that a sp for Exchange is not the same as an sp for NT). The service packs for Exchange fix a large number of problems related to MIME conversion/types, etc. so install sp4 (in addition to installing NT sp6a on that box) and see if that fixes the first problem.

That said, the second issue sounds like you're having a problem with your network configuration - can you elaborate on your LAN setup? Is the Exchange server in the same subnet? Can you post a tracert to your Exchange server from one of the clients having this problem(you don't need to post the real IPs if you're worried about security)? Can you explain how you have Outlook configured? Basically, we need more info in order to figure that one out.

A:can't email pics. host can't be found

Your email program is looking for an email server that it cannot find.

Go to your ISP's web site, and look in their FAQ files. It should have the info somewhere on what their email server is called. Put that server name in your config/options in your email program, and then it will work.

an example would be mail.name_of_isp.com or mail.name_of_isp.net etc.

I am running Mac OSx through virtualization using VirtualBox. I have a bunch of stuff on there that I don't have on my main OS, Windows 7. I was wondering if there was a way to be able to access it on windows without opening the virtual mac, or without downloading it separately on the windows. Because everything is still on this hard drive, so can't I just search for it in windows and be able to find it? It's not that big of a deal for now since its just mainly pictures and music, which I can easily get on Windows in the first place. But I was thinking about putting some movies and bigger sized files on OSx and I just started wondering if I would be able to get them on the windows.

Anyways, like I said it's not that big of a deal if I can't. I just want to know if it's possible.

And just to quickly re-explain my little situation just incase you got confused. My computer runs Windows 7. And through a program I download called VirtualBox, I can boot into Mac OSx through virtualization. I creaded a virtual hard drive and gave it like 120 gigs out of my 600 gig hard drive.

I need help, not 30 lashes with a wet noodle. I feel stupid enough already.

I think I have a failed uninstall of Norton Internet Securities 2004 and I may not have completely removed MSN 9.0 either. The machine was handed down to me from my fifteen year old daughter, who feels that it has "a bunch of Trojans".

It is a Presario S5000NX running WinXP SP2. It has two XP clients, one of which can access the internet and be seen (usually) by other machines. The 95 client can be seen by all machines but cannot see any of them. The samba (Mandrake 10.1) client can't be seen but can (usually) see the host, 95 client, and one XP client, and can access the internet. The other XP client cannot be seen or go online, but can (usually) access files from (some of) the other computers. The samba client double-boots in Win2000 and can then access the host, 95 client, and accessible XP client, but cannot be seen. The 95 client cannot access the internet.

This ethernet LAN connectivity is subject to change without notice or apparent reason.

It is currently running AVG free and Sygate free; whenever I try to install stronger security software, I lose network connectivity (which is hardly perfect in the first place) and have to run an XP system restore.

I can also scan across the network with NOD32 on a client computer. Neither it nor AVG nor Ad-Aware nor Spybot turn anything up.

Let's start with a hijackthis log:

WIN 7 Ultimate, 64 bit, ASUS M3A78-EM Motherboard.

I built my PC about 3-4 year ago using the above MB and OS and I am very happy with it.

I recently decided to install a 4 port, front, USB 3 hub.

The MB doesn't directly support USB 3 but does have a PCIe 2 slot.

I purchased from Scan a Lycom UB-115, 1x Ext' 1 x Int' 2 x port USB 3 PCIe card, this is a powered card as is the front hub which was puchased seperate to the card.

The multi software disk that came with the PCIe card is NEC.

Installing the front 4 port hub was a doodle, on restarting machine, new hardware was recognised and successfully installed and I know power is getting to hub.

I wasn't so lucky with the software, the NEC 64 bit software installs OK but the USB 3 host controller/driver is not found. If I look in device manger it is not there under Universal Serial Bus Controller, ( which is where I assume the USB 3 controller would show ) and there are no yellow warning triangles, Windows simply can't find the installed software/ host controller/driver.

I spoke to Scan who directed me to Lycom's driver download page, there is an update, so downloaded it, uninstalled previous version, installed update version, still no joy, nothing in device manger.

If I click start, all programs, I can see the software, if I click on the USB 3 Utility icon, a window pops us informing USB 3 Host Controller/Drive not found.

Can anyone help me to resolve this issue?

Solution provided by DELL to a problem I have been unable to resolve on my Lenovo P50 using Lenovo Tools and Drivers. Background Info: I have Windows 7 Ult SP1 Retail on my P50, with two issues.1. MS Paint, Lenovo Battery utility and the Lenovo Network utility would never display a window when opened, just an icon in the taskbar or a splash screen, then absolutely nothing. Mouse would go jittery for about 20-30 seconds. 2. I could not get a USB3.1 external drive dock to work on the USB C port. The external drive dock came with a USB C to USB3.1 cable. Ruled out the dock as an issue. So I uninstalled all Intel drivers, Lenovo utilities and the Graphics drivers to get back to a base Win 7 install and confirmed Paint worked. Reinstalled drivers individually checking system behaviour at each step. I suspect item 1 was resolved by the most recent Lenovo graphics driver bundle. Item 2 is where DELL come to the rescue. The only Win 7 Lenovo USB 3.1 driver (Version will not install on my system manually and fails using any of the Lenovo tools or utilities.http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/au/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-P-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-P... is a dud. It was originally installed during Win7 install using the built in Admin Account before the OOBE. A:[P51] Intel USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller and Hub Driver

I have split your reply off from the Intel USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller and Hub Driver message thread involving the ThinkPad P50 into a separate one for your P51 for visibility.
If I am reading the screenshot correctly, it looks like the digital signature on the device driver for the USB host either cannot be read, is missing, or cannot be verified (which I assume means a connection being made to Microsoft's servers for verification).
It seems very odd to me that Lenovo would ship a ThinkPad P51 preloaded with Windows 10 containing an unsigned device driver.  And, if I am interpreting the screen correctly, the driver is actually written by Microsoft, not Intel (the "(Microsoft)" at the end of the driver's name).
My initial thought is that somehow the operating system install was corrupted during installation by Lenovo.  It must ben extraordinarly rare event, as I think I have seen it perhaps twice in the past twenty years or so, but that is about the only scenario I can think of where one could find a corrupt file in the preloaded operating system.
If this is the case, there's only one solution I can think of, and that's to order the recovery media from Lenovo, wipe the drive, and then perform a clean install of the operating system using the recovery media.  The reason that I suggest doing it this way, as opposed to using the recovery partition, is because I'm concerned that if there's a problem with one pre-load... Trying everything, reinstalling, looking from ASUS website for drivers, but then I agreed with myself that I will wait until Win 10 came out so I had hope that this will solve my problem but it didn't! :-( I also looked on forums, different threads but no luck. I have got ASUS laptop G55VW (ROG series) and on ASUS website there is no drivers for win 10 (except 8 and 9 Series chipset) and yes, it's good to know if someone could help me, my chipset is HM77 Ivy Bridge.

Thank you in advance!

A:Intel« USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver

Try to download the driver directly from www.intel.com If there is no Windows 10 driver, download the Windows 8 driver instead. You may have to run it in Windows 8 compatibility mode. Right-click on the file and select Properties. Go to Compatibility tab and check the box to set compatibility to Windows 8. Also check the Run as Administrator box. Now it should install OK. It is a good idea to also update the chipset drivers (found in the software section of Intel download site).

Intel's site confuses you and it takes some guesswork to find a driver. Both drivers for USB 3.0 and chipset are in Software section, Chipset software. To save you the trouble, here is the direct link for the USB 3.0 driver. Yes, it says it is Windows 7 only because Windows 8 and 10 are supposed to install a driver automatically through Windows Update. So what! Download it and run it in Windows 7 compatibility mode. It should be far better than Windows Update generic USB 3.0 driver.

Successfully completed a clean reinstall with no problems, this time it picked up my Nvidia 310M graphics card (will update my other thread) and installed the latest driver for it.

Only one remaining issue and that is a driver for the JMB38X SD/MMC Host Controller. Have done a google search but can't find anything I can trust to be the appropriate Win 10 driver. One site called "Driver Scape" lists a driver, version no. as Win 10 32bit & 64bit supported but it's release date is 31.07.2012!

I'm tempted to try it but as I don't know the site my head is saying be suspicious. Anybody know or have experience of Driver Scape? I guess the alternative is to just wait and see if a driver is eventually offered via Windows Update.

Any suggestions or advice welcome.

Hi. First, im on a Lenovo Y510p Laptop. Yesterday, windows updated through windows update and when i logged into my computer, none of my usb ports were working. As in: My external mouse and keyboard were not connecting, they were working just before the update though.(they are new.) Device manager said there was an error with some driver so i tried to update, it said it was where it needed to be, so i uninstalled it, restarted the computer and it was fixed. Now, USB ports still not working, i have an error with this driver:

USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller
Under device status, it says:
Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)
The specified image file did not have the correct format, it did not have an initial MZ.

Im not sure what other information i should give so here is some stuff that may help:

When i press update driver it says that it is running the latest driver.
Obviously, this driver is under Universal serial bus controllers in device manager.
I use the laptop for mostly gaming.
My mouse and keyboard WERE working before the update the same night.
Any more info that could help just let me know, thanks so much.

I am having some issues with the stability provided by the VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE1394 Host Controller on my almost new HP Slimline PC. The Firewire post recognizes my external WD hard drive, but sometimes the drive will simply vanish only to reappear on restart. I'm thought that maybe updating the driver for the VIA Firewire device might just help the device be more stable or resolve my issue. The current driver provided on the pc for the device is dated 6/21/06 Version 6.0.6001.18000. I've searched the net, but can't quite find a updated driver for this VIA Firewire device. Does anyone know where I might be able to download a new driver for the device?

I cought this bug about 3 months ago and have not gave up the fight to finaly find that last bit of malware code and permanently erase it , but about a week ago I finally gave up and formated my main hard drive and tried to do a clean install but come to my knowladge tHat I had attached or hooked infected drivers on my USBcontroller , Virtual Disk , kernel , video processor , audio driver. So every time I used cleaned all from diskpart I would inject rootkit code instead of zeros oN the drive , I was so frustated that I literaly removed the RAM , CPU , DiskDrive , and tried to get my WLAN card out but couldn't cuz the screw was overtorked from factory and left it alone and let them out overnight. I couldn't find the BIOS cmos lithium battery to remove it and erase BIOS, I got a flash tool software and BIOS upgrd version.
Through this post I hope I can get a heads up on what the correct path is to recover my Laptops (3) Vostro 1520 ,Vostro 1500, D600. I recovered my DSL wifirouter through my BlackBerry that has wifi and my notes made about 2 yrs ago with Usr and pass and settings. I feel so agravated and frustated right now about my situation cuz I promise my doughters that I will get the internet back stay up all night traying to get it back online and nothing , its funny in a sarcastic way to say that I ruined 2 PALM pixis while downloading rootkit removal detector tools and conecting to the USB port on my laptop , now my Cellfone carrier thinks ama haker shoot!&... A:kernel root kit driver ard autochk proxy host

Hello and welcome to BleepingComputer!

Rootkit boot code does not spread from device to device, so as long as you reformat the drives before reinstalling Windows you should be perfectly fine. The only way to be reinfected with a bootkit is to run the original dropper (usually a malicious file downloaded from the internet).

Please let me know what exactly you need help with here.

After updating my VIA Enhanced Host Controller driver to version, my usb ports quit working. Apparantly, many XP users have had the same problem. One remedy I'm told to try is to update my VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller driver to 5.1.2600.5512. Trouble is, I can't seem to find it without jumping through endless hoops or having to pay for one of those driver update programs (which caused the problem in the first place).
Can anyone send me one or direct me to a quick and easy link for it? Thanks.

A:Needing VIA's 5.1.2600.5512 USB Host Controller Driver

Your computer has a VIA chipset.

Go here to download VIA Hyperion Pro 4-In-1 Chipset Drivers 5.24a.
(Select the author's site or one of the USA links.)

The file will be in ZIP format, so download it into an empty folder that you've created on your desktop.

Extract the contents into that same desktop folder.

Double-click the "Setup.exe" file to start the install process.

Select and allow all components to be installed.

Restart your computer afterwards.

You can now delete the desktop folder and its contents.

Does anyone have a solution to the problem with Windows 7 and SD Card readers? My XPS 15 came with a internal SD card reader. It worked fine the first time and I could copy my photo's to my harddrive. Now when I insert the card in the slot, windows does not even recognise it or pick it up. I can't access the card. I have not tried it with the usb cable that came with my camera yet (don't have it with me as I'm on holiday). Any suggestions?

A:SD card host reader/driver dissapeared from Dell XPS 15

I've got exactly the same problem with a SDHC card. The reader should read SDXC which to my understanding means it should also read SDHC.

I just noticed in device manager that my driver for the SCSI/RAID Host Controller wasn't present. Not sure what it means since I am not using and RAID or SCSI hardware. I tried installing VIA drivers for my mother board which is an ABIT KD7; chekc out my signature for the rest of my specs. That didn't fixc the driver problem. I triedin installing ADAPTEC drivers from their website and no luck that exclamation mark saying there are no drivers present is driving me insane. It was there before and I am not sure why it is still there. All I did was move my net work and sound card to the lowest PCI slot in my tower so my video card gets more air from my fron intake fan at the front of my case. I hope someone knows how I can solve this problem.

A:SCSI/RAID Host Controller Driver Problem???

Taken from ABIT KD7

Supports the most advanced ATA133 HDDs with RAID 0/1/0+1 onboard HPT372 RAID controller enables enhanced functionality and HDDs performance without the cost of additional add-on cards.Click to expand...

If you do not use it, it is not necessary to install drivers for it ( you might even be able to deactivate it from the BIOS ).

If you do not feel comfortable with the exclamation point in the Device Manager, install these -> Highpoint HPT372 Drivers v2.34 for 98/ME/NT/2K/XP

I have a gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H which uses the via chipset for USB (VIA VL800 chip)

I have an error in system device for Usb xHCI Compliant host controller

I am just wondering what drivers I can use for this?

Also I didn't load any other drivers for my mobo - is this okay (I don't see any available for my motherboard)

Do I need to load any "non Microsoft" drivers i.e. intel

A:Usb xHCI Compliant host controller Driver Error

You could try these for USB: Via USB 3.0 Drivers Version 4.90a

Download, install using compatibility mode and reboot. Good Luck!

And these are your motherboard's chipset drivers (select Windows 10): GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.0)

Just download, unpack, install and reboot. Best of luck!

I am using Windows XP home edition.

I posted this in the wrong forum, a few days ago: and was advised to post it here,
with a new hjt log. They did say that I had more serious problems than just my host file needing to be restored. They also said that there didn't seem to be a firewall. How can I find out if I'm using Window's firewall?

Arovax Shield popped up a message: "Warning: Your Windows host file was hijacked. It is recommended to restore host file."

1. Now I can't use my anti-virus program, because it stalls (freezes) before it finishes.

2. I can't use Panda or any other on-line scanner, because it too freezes before it can

3. I can't shutdown my computer - not even cold boot! I have to completely unplug it!

4. I can't do a system restore, to a previous date. (I've tried several previous dates).

I have no idea how to restore the host file, and I have no idea how it was hijacked.

Here is my new HJT log: (I hope it will be of some help)
