Web Pages Do Not Load Fully. Can't Load Some Sites

Q: Web Pages Do Not Load Fully. Can't Load Some Sites

I've just started having this problem and its killing me.

I have 2 computers. My server is running windows 2000 server, and the secondary computer is running xp Pro.

The internet was working fine on my secondary computer, and then one day, it just started becoming slow, and it would not load pages (images wouldn't fully load, some pages wouldn't load at all). If i type in a url in the address bar for IE it would load the page quickly (probably from cache), but then proceeding to click links would cause "Page not found" or "timed out" errors.

I know that i can reach these sites, i ping them and get normal responses. It seems that IE is just not displaying them properly or something. The internet on my server computer works perfectly fine.

I have 2 nic cards in the server computer, 1 recieving the cable modem, and one receiving a LAN cable from my Hub.

Anybody have any ideas? Like i said, it worked on my secondary cmputer before. Also, i hooked up another computer to my hub and the internet was working fine, and then i installed Service Pack 3 and it started crapping out like mentioned above.

This is driving me NUTS!! ahhh. please help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Did you try emptying your browser cache? Also delete temp files and cookies (or the cookies you don't want to keep) and see if that helps.

Internet access is very slow. It takes up to 3 minutes to get a page to load, and I have to hit 'Reload' 2-3 times before a site finally loads. When it does, Firefox still shows the site as loading. This problem appeared after one of three events. On the same day, I downloaded Babylon and FoxLingo. I have uninstalled both, and removed and remaining registry entries. I also received an email from my fan site on Ning (I am an author) requesting approval for a blog post. The link took me to my fan site, but there was no blog posted. I discovered it was the usual spam for male enhancement drugs, but perhaps it was hiding a more malicious virus. I cleaned up my Ning site and notified them. I have had the problem since. I ran AdAware and AVG, and only came up with minor cookies. I also ran SDFix, including catchme, and got 0 hits. I ran Malwarebytes, which only showed the SDFix files and 2 low-level threats. I also ran HiJackThis, but the log showed nothing that should not be present. All that leads me here. I have followed the procedure in the Prep Guide. FYI-I had to run GMER 3 times. It caused my system to freeze the first two times it finished scanning, which took over 10 hours. Outside of the Internet, my computer runs other software smoothly. I have a brand new ASUS MB, 500GBHD, AMD chip and 4GB DD2 memory-less than 3 months old. Hey everyone. I just installed wireless (linksys router w/ Netgear adapter) on my computer, and now, some pages won't fully open. For example, rottentomatoes.com is acting kinda screwy for me. The majority of the page will load, but some parts of it won't. For example, I see most of the images, but not all the tomatoes will load on the left side of the page. I've tried accessing this page with IE, Firefox, and Netscape, and I pretty much get the same thing. I've deleted my temp. files, my cookies, everything. Our other computer, which is not wireless, connects perfectly to rottentomatoes.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

Hey again. Another example of my problem would be with myspace.com. If you click "view all friends," only a few out of about 30 actually show up.

This started about three months ago. Wherever I go on the net, the webpages won't fully load. Sometimes only the background loads and then nothing. I refresh the page and then maybe the full page will load. This site loads only 13 threads and then stops loading. If the page loads longer than 5 minutes, I hit refresh. I gave up and decided to just post for help instead of searching.

I'm using Firefox 4.0.1 and am on dial-up.

If there's any info you need about my laptop, please let me know where to find it.

Thank you.

A:Pages won't fully load

Dial-up is going to take a really long time to load fully a page with a lot of graphics. People building web pages do not take into consideration people who still use dial-up. So they build web pages rich with graphics, which doesn't take very long to load if you have broadband but will take forever with dial-up. You will have to be patient or get DSL or Cable modem.

New computer with XP. All seems fine except for two web pages that I use a great deal, one of them is for my job. The page loads but appears with different colored graphics, that is to say the graphics are the same just different colors. When I try to open some of the reports I need the report will in fact open but most of the content is missing, just blank fields where the verbage should be. My company laptop uses XP as well and loads these pages perfectly. My old computer with 98 loaded them fine as well. I set my laptop next to the desktop and scrolled through all of the settings to see if anything was set differently....but all appears to be set the same.

I have the system set to accept all cookies, manually overrode the slider and checked both boxes to accept........made no difference at all.

You all have any suggestions?

When I open websites such as msn.com and even the tech support page some stuff isn't loading. There are spots where ?banners? (sorry but not very sure about what they're called) show up with little red x's in the corner or spots that say pages not loaded correctly (which is the case w/the main tech support page). I have adaware6, spybot, spysweeper, norton, and hijackthis so I'm not sure if one of those might have caused this or something else I may have done. I hope that someone might be able to shed some light on this situation. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance to all.

A:IE pages won't load fully

Those little red x's are called "image placeholders" and usually show up when either your browser or firewall are set to block some types of images. You can go to Tools/Internet options and on the Advanced tab, scroll down to Multimedia. Uncheck "Show image download placeholders" and then put a check in "Show Pictures"

You may also have to go into your firewall settings and make the same settings changes.

I'm running IE6.0 SP1 with cable modem and have a problem where web pages will not fully load. It seems the graphics are the hang-up. After several seconds waiting I click on stop, then refresh, and the page fully loads very quickly. Why doesn't the page load fast the first time?
I have tried deleting the internet cache and temporary internet files, offline content, weeded out the cookies to 15 and trimed the history to 15 days. Nothing seems to help.

I'm running Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security. Disabling these two programs did not change the web page loading speed.

Thanks for your help,

I have a problem with an increasing number of web pages where they don't fully load and I get only the banner or title at the top of the page and any ads. But the body of the page is blank, and the link buttons don't work.

Is this a problem with my computer? If so how do I fix it?

Word of warning, I'm fairly computer illiterate, so please offer as much detail as possible if you have a solution.

So i started having this problem after formating my computer, and i have read the forums a bit looking for similar problems with solution but no luck so far. Im using windows 7 and some pages will never load completely for example, nvidia section to download drivers, or wowhead.com only the banner will appear but if i press refresh it will show the page briefly and go back to the blank page with only a banner on top.
Any idea what could be causing such problem ?

Hi, I have been away for a while and my flatmates used my computer. Needless to say, now i'm back and well, my first problem is when web pages load they dont fully load. All the script seems to be there and images but there is no colour in the boxes where links are or there are borders missing and a lot of the banners have no colour in them, they are just white.
I have done a full sweep with AVG, Spybot . One thing they did do was uninstall ZoneAlarm Security Suite and install AVG as they had some issue with internet access to my Yahoo. I have just reinstalled ZA but nothing has changed.
This happens on both IE 7 and Firefox 2.00.3. I have XP with SP2

I have one XP Pro Dell Optiplex PC that runs fine except that web pages don't always fully load,
or you get the raw data from the page (which looks very different).
Does not always happen...strange.

I suspected the network card was bad, so I put in a wifi card and same thing happemed
I have 5 other PCs on network that are working fine. Auto lan IP set.

The PC is clean of viruses. Use CCleaner often.
I have even tried different graphics cards.

All I can guess is that it's the motherboard.
Anyone ever see this?

Hi Techguy Forums!

I ran into a problem two days ago, where sites like NHL.com, CBC or Facebook, many other forums looking for solutions before finding this one will endlessly load, sometimes it finally does load, it has no pictures, just the names of all the links basically the bare-bones of the sites. Some things that I have tried before posting

-ipconfig/flushdns release renew
-Ran Malwarebytes no threats,
-Ran Norton Antivirus, Nothing removed it, downloaded Avast, ran, nothing, uninstalled.
-Ran all updates on Microsoft security essentials / Windows Defender
-Deleted Firefox, Google Chrome (Both W8 mode and Desktop mode), reset Internet Explorer (Both W8 mode and Desktop mode) reinstalled,
-Admin CMD ran netsh ipv4 ipv6 etc.
-Restarted Modem & Router 10++ times,
-Tried both wired and wireless connections zero difference
-Did a system restore to date that it DID work,
-uninstalled all programs that were downloaded within time frame of not working,
-Tried running in Safemode with networking,
-Updated Java, adobe, Flash

at the point where I'm about to just wipe the computer, but would like to attempt to fix it before going to the last resort.

Any suggestions?

When I am on the internet and just looking at regular sites like yahoo or local news sites using IE I get strange error messages like:

"Sorry, we couldn't find http://%24pixelhost/serve/fb/pdc%3FuatFilter%3Dtrue"

I get different messages but it always starts Sorry, we couldn't find http://......

The page is mostly loaded then I get the message and a list of suggested sites. Its not always pixelhost but this is the most recent error I recieved. It almost seems to be random because I can not make it happen but it happens enough to be annoying.

Any suggestions would be great.

A:Web pages don't fully load before error message

This looks like DNS redirection.

The concept is whenever a webserver reports Error 404 (page not found), many ISPs
will intercept the Error 404 and reproduce what they think is a user friendly help reply
which clearly it AINT!

Suggest you change the DNS settings in your router or manually on the PC itself
to as the first DNS entry - - this is the google DNS
and a request for http://www.googleme.com/ will reply

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at www.googleme.com
For page content like scripts and graphics, the missing webresource is just ignored

dear community,

hi ...yesterday i was watching videos on nbc.com, when the videos started not playing, and, then upon trying to clear my cookies, try other browsers, etc

...almost no web pages were able to load, and downloads are being prohibited -

i tried to download adwcleaner, for example, and in 2 out of 3 browsers the download would not start or complete,

and in the third... the .exe file was being treated as an html file, and would only open with /avast's safe harbor browser/... (this happened with other downloads as well)

i have no idea what i'm doing, with computers, but... thankfully i remembered about "safe mode with command prompt," and was able to download the sysinfo utility,

_and adwcleaner_ - which detected and cleaned 26 infections ...but the problem still persists...

i also, just in case, downloaded combofix from bleeping computer, because i remembered having to use that in the past... should i just go straight to using combofix? or would you like to try some other diagnostics, first?

i have backed up my files, in case we need to go with an aggressive plan of action

i'm so hoping you could help... THANK YOU for reading my issue, and for the work you do every day!

here are the sysinfo, and adwcleaner logs...

Hi Computer Wizards,

I'm having a problem with my IE. My computer frequently freezes when I try to access pages. I'm also unable to close pages, either by right-clicking the box at the bottom of the screen, clicking the "X" at the top of the screen (which I can't always do because sometimes the page will be frozen in its minimized form and doesn't respond to the "restore" command), or by bringing up Task Manager and trying to close it through there. Sometimes pages won't minimize. Sometimes pages won't load at all; the "connecting" message will go round and round for hours if I let it. Sometimes Task Manager won't come up. Sometimes the whole computer gets completely constipated and won't respond to any keyboard input. I have to turn it off and back on to be able to use it. Our users have IE 7 and 8. We keep them locked into place by pointing IE to our firewall product (tools > internet options > connections > lan settings), so that only approved sites are the ones that our people can access. In the last few days, several of them report issues with specific websites loading very slowly - load times of over an hour just to get the log-in screen to appear.Troubleshooting Steps:1.) Unchecked the "use proxy server for your LAN" under the IE menus---> Site resolves instantly, as it should---> This pointed me to the direction that perhaps the site wasn't configured for our firewall2.) Re-checked the "use proxy server" box, and specifically configured the site in our firewall---> Site continues to resolve slowly, with the same load times as before performing step 1That would normally indicate that the problem is on the vendor's end. Something may be wrong with their site. And that's the line of thought I was pursuing until I was reported back to that the users are having the same problem on other websites. These new websites they're having problems with are, and have been for a long time, configured properly in the firewall.I'm not sure what my next step is to pursue. What am I looking for now? I don't know enough about networking to figure out where to track next.

Just started two-days-ago. Mozilla and IE 6.0.2900. I did a system restore back for two weeks to no avail as "nothing changed."

Mozilla and IE, through Mozilla, either takes long to load or no load. If it does load does so without .gifs or some links. Some links are broken. Some will load the login page fine then freeze on the next page.

The perplexing part is that it affects only a few pages but not the whole site: my hompage, Nasdaq.com; ebay.com (after the login page), espn.com takes a while, 240 sec, to load then only partially load.

Network fine, signal strength fine, I've killed Symantec, no difference. Switched to Windows firewall, no difference. Killed Adblock, no diff. Ran Spyware Doc, nothing; NAV scan, nothing.

I'm lost. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks in advance.

A:Doesn't Always Connect And Pages Don't Always Load Or Load Right

Sorry for the delay, this forum is very busy right now.

There is a program from a company called SearchHelp, Inc. on this computer. Sentry at Home or Sentry Remote. From the information I can gather on the Internet, this is a legitimate application aimed at allowing parents control over their children's web surfing habits. Judging by some of the lines in this log it uses a proxy server and several other techniques to filter internet content. This might explain why you have trouble connecting to some web sites.

If you are the owner of this computer and installed this program, I would suggest disabling it temporarily to see whether your problems persist.

Whether they do or not, post a fresh HijackThis log along with the results of this test.

Normally when you get errors like this it's best to rule out a problem at the modem/router and provider before going crazy over trying to fix a problem (that may not exist) on your PC(s).

Also just a couple of other questions:

Who is your internet provider (ISP)?
What connection type do they use (Cable/DSL/Fiber/Fixed Wireless/Mobile Wireless)?
What is the make and model of your router and modem?

Try running a ping to the sites that have trouble loading to see what kind of connection times you are looking at. I would also run a tracert to those sites to see if there are any places dropping the connection.

Hi everyone. I've got a very strange problem that just began happening out of no where. When browsing the net I can no longer go to websites such as www.zone.com, I can only check my e-mail when I'm lucky and the website decides to load without displaying "the page cannot be displayed" error message. More than half of the images on everyone webpage display as not loadable little X marks, even on this website. When attempting to open random websites after searching on google for example, more than 3/4 of the web pages I click on give me the "page cannot be displayed" msg instantly without even trying to load. This problem just began recently out of no where. Windows firewall has always been off and never had problems untill now. I run Aluria Security Center and have never had problems. I also have tried adding these sites to my trusted list and it does absolutely nothing. Hope you guys can give me a solution. Thanks ahead of time.

A:Pages don't load, images don't load?

My computer is doing the same thing. Out of nowhere, there's a whole ton of webpages that don't work. I went to read my comics yesterday morning and Yahoo news didn't load. I'm having the same problem in both IE and in Firefox so I'm guessing it's a problem with the computer, not the browser. But I have no idea how to go about fixing it.

A few days ago I noticed that some of webpages weren't loading correctly. It was shortly after updating Java. Web pages that I visited like Yahoo, Adobe, and Facebook started to load plain text (no graphics of any sort). The Microsoft site wouldn't load at all until I read instructions somewhere on this forum about enabling secure sites. Most other sites loaded perfectly so I figured it had to be some sort of malware that was blocking me from certain sites. I ran a lot of scans using several anti-malware and anti-virus programs. I ended up finding about 3 trojans that were removed. That didn't solved my problem though. I got fed up and decided to reformat my computer hoping that whatever was wrong with it would get fixed, it didn't. Since I formatted my computer I tried updating Windows but I kept getting an error: "WindowsUpdate_8024402C". Wouldn't work in Normal mode even after I followed the instructions given to solve the error. Figured I'd give it a shot in Safe Mode with Networking, but it still doesn't work. Now I can't access the Microsoft website again. *sigh* I've tried pinging it but my requests keep getting timed out.

After reformatting I uninstalled all the bloatware, and reinstalled updated versions of Java, Adobe Flash Player, and Shockwave (thru majorgeeks as I couldn't download them directly from their sites). I've ran more scans but nothing comes up. I'm thinking maybe there's something wrong with my winsock2 but I'm not touching it O_o. I forgo... Read more

Hey Guys!

So, I've run into a bit of a problem. For the past couple of days my Internet Connection seems to be acting strange.
Sometimes i can load pages almost instantly, for example google or wikipedia, and a minute later i have a loading time of above 30 seconds for the same page.
On the other Hand, when I start a large Download and it has to run for an hour or more, it wont abort, even when I can't connect to other Websites in the meantime.

The weird thing is that this happens on every Device in my Network. I've done a ping test in this little "downtime" and half the packages timed out.
Wireshark shows that somehow I keep sending out packages but for like 15 - 20 seconds I get no response at all.

I really don't know what to make of this and would appreciate some help^^
Thanks in Advance!

Hey guys,

Here's the challenge:-

Running Windows 7/XP wired by ethernet to a home router.

A lot of sites I'm visiting seem to instantly crash (website not found) and need refreshed a few times before loading up.

Sometimes they don't load from clicking a Google search, and no matter how many times I click refresh they don't work. But if I go to the address bar and hit enter, it loads!

And one or two sites that I visit just won't load at all.

What I've tried that did NOTHING:-

Fresh installing XP and 7.

Chrome, IE and Firefox.

New LAN drivers.

Flushing cache, renewing IP.

Installing a USB wifi stick.

Safe mode.

My iPod on wifi loads them all perfectly.

If I boot up mini Linux, all sites work perfectly!

If I boot up mini XP, the sites work after refreshing a few times (even the ones that don't work at all during normal boot up).

Hope that jumble makes sense!

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks a lot!

Hello, I have a Compaq Presario CQ56 with Windows 7. I ran Microsoft Security Essentials, went to work, came home and the computer is on the home screen (?) and flashes a quick black screen. The longer the computer is on, the shorter the flashing screen intervals are.
I have tried F keys and am only able to bring up Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking and SafeMode with CMD, but NONE of these work and the computer does the same loop once loaded.
I have tried accessing all F keys and none bring up a BIOS or Sys. Recovery. I Have tried removing the battery and power and holding the power button.
ANY help/suggestion will be greatly appreciated. I have to complete some coursework and need the computer asap.

"Hey you guys, I have an odd problem, at least as far as I know it is.
Had this laptop for about 4yrs now, had to reinstall windows a few months ago. Dog chewed the CDs, so only used the first CD and some things I had to add myself. Still have volume issues, cannot fix it. But w/e, that's just a background.

I had some issues with blue screens and freezings, used a bunch of free software from Windows and other trusted places and those finally stopped.

But one issue has persisted. Windows updates and restarts sometimes all on it's own in the middle of the night. I usually leave the laptop on 24/7 now. It took too long to get going and sometimes it would not start right. Win updates rarely equal a full restart, most times I wake up and find the laptop stuck. I have the Gateway Tablet, so the blue start screen is there and the on screen touch keyboard is displayed. I have to force it off by holding the power button.

Whenever I have to restart it, forced or properly, it always fails and freezes the first time around.
It will let me on and start to load, but then it will just sit there. The apps I click never load and the Task Manager pops up, but after that, everything freezes.
I have to force it off.

New development.
Ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in Safe Mode, it found 5 PUP issues, net told me to ignore them. And one Trojan.Dropper that I selected to remove. It told me to restart the PC and it started up fine. That black screen with the Win and Win Pro selection is still there, ugh, but the pc loads. No idea how long this will last, I've done this before and eventually it messed up again.
How do I keep it from happening again? I have Comodo.
It has some files in Quarantine, should I select to Delete them all or just leave them?

My friend's computer was infected in exactly the same way as the guy in http://www.techsupportforum.com/showthread.php?t=120709 . I downloaded a new anti virus program called NOD32, scanned the system and it removed the Virus Burster program. I then tried to uninstall the original installer which was called VideoCompressionCodec, which first made me reboot, but then allowed me to uninstall it from the Control Panel. I then realised that I was still getting popups for some dodgy dating agency, and discovered that they were being generated by a program called "Public Messenger v2.03". Trying to uninstall this, it made me go through the same rigamarole as the previous time, but this too said it had uninstalled correctly requiring a further reboot to complete.
Meanwhile, the NOD32 seemed to be conflicting with the Google Desktop Search, which she had installed a while back for some reason, so I decided to uninstall that too. Unfortunately, it wouldn't let me do this, just popping with a message, "reboot now to complete installation" . When this hadn't worked, I looked through the google help pages, where it seemed to be a fairly common problem (typical google!) and after suggesting several things, they said the only remaining option was to remove it manually by deleting the registry keys directly, which I proceeded to do, using regedt32 (for the first time ever...) ]
This hadn't seemed to work, as the Desktop Search program was still launching every startup... Read more

Install IE8 if you haven't got it already. Too much crap installed causes problems. Get rid of everything that has the word "toolbar" in it.

Now, this one might be a bit new or not, but I hope I can get some help on this.

It's my laptop, it runs Vista Home Basic. I have this one webpage I visited rather frequently on my laptop, and then one day it began to not load vital components on the webpage. It's a chatroom kind of webpage, and it would not load the text box where you type posts or the window where the posts were displayed, yet everything else such as the background and the advertisment banner on top would.

Even after an OS Reload and reinstalling adobe reader and player, it would still "load with errors". Obviously OS reloads usually don't solve everything, so I hope somebody can help.

You don't say what browser you are using. Whatever it is, try a different one. Say Opera or Firefox or MaxThon. They don't take that long to install and put Abobe Flash on.

Hey everyone, I got a copy of Windows XP (home) and its not working anymore. It boots up until the "welcome screen" (which I didnt previuosly have on, it only comes up to tell me this) and then says "Windows 30 day trial is up and is not activated, Click OK to activate now". You click "ok" and it goes to what would be the tel # screen, but it says "Windows Xp is already activated click ok to continue" and logs me back out to the welcome screen. If you click cancel, it just goes back to the welcome screen. Before, a dialog box came up and said "there is x# of days left to activate would you like to do it now?" But no matter what button you clicked it would say windows is already activated and continue to load. Now that the counter has run out of "time" I cant get into windows anymore. Microsoft isnt a big help, because I have to have the product Id string (not the product key) but i have to get into windows to find it. If anyone knows how to get to the system restore before windows boots that would really help. Thanks a lot -Nick

A:Windows Won't Load fully

You could try going into the Bios and setting the date back a few days on the Standard Setup screen. This may fool Windows into thinking the trial period hasn't expired yet.

Hi, My wife's HP computer will not fully load all items in the system tray, it is on a wireless network connection that connects to this computer but on start up it will not load the connection icon, it was fine yesterday, also will not load the speaker icon, it loads Avira and win patrol and that's it.
Also should state that the USB mouse froze up while she was using the computer, I shut it down and changed the mouse, now I have the problem stated above.

Try running the chkdsk /r command (first)...followed by the defrag function....to see if it's merely a question of file maintenance being needed.

Let me begin by stating that I will donate $100 to Tech Support Guy if someone is able to *successfully* solve my problem.

First, some general info on my computer:
* Dell Latitude D510 Notebook (purcahsed in January of 2006)
* Windows XP Home - SP2
* 80GB 5400RPM HDD
* Pentium M Dothan, 1.86GHZ, 2 MEGB

Second, a little background on the events leading to the problem:
* I'm a heavy Internet user (about 16 hours per day of blogging, social media stuff, web based email, downloading music, files, video, etc.). Typically, I leave my computer continually running for several days at a time. Last week (Jan 08), I rebooted my system after about 3 days of continual use and this is what happened, and is still happening (step by step guide)

1) I turn on my computer and the computer begins to boot normally, from the Dell logo to the Windows XP logo
2) Once the Blue Welcome Screen appears, I see the following error message:
WLKeeper.exe - Application Error The Instruction at "0x00401490" referenced memory at "0x9a3412be". The memory could not be "written".
3) If I click cancel, the OS continues to load, even producing Microsoft's trademark startup sound and displaying the default background screen of the fields and mountains against a blue sky.
4) However, as the programs are loading and the explorer bar at the bottom of the screen loads, I receive a second error message stating:
Explorer.EXE - Application Error The instruction a... Read more

I am posting for a friend, so I do not know many specifics of his computer.

Had 256 mb RAM, and upgraded to 1 Ghz. (new RAM is kingston and same speed as old RAM.)

After the upgrade the BIOS recognized the new RAM and went to the XP load screen with the load bar. It then goes black and does not load to the desktop.

He has put in the old RAM, put everything in different slots, and every combination, same results with all of the RAM. Even the OLD RAM.

I suggested he boot in safe mode and that worked. But he cannot get it to boot normally.

I suggested he boot from disk and that did NOT work.
