Yoga 520 Touchpad adjustment

Q: Yoga 520 Touchpad adjustment

Hi, i have just purchased a Yoga 520 laptop, and am wantin to find out if there is any way to adjust the area of the touchpad, so that the area where the buttons are not part of the "touch" area, i quite often while working will have my left finger on the left click button at the bottom of the touchpad while navigating and swiping etc with my right hand. Because the buttons are part of the touch area, it keeps thinking i am trying to do gestures because of 2 fingers in the touch area at the same time, is there anyway to change this so that the button area is not "touch" before i put some tape there so it doesnt see my finger. Thanks in advance Danny

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have just purchased my LENOVO YOGA 500. And the touchpad ist not working at all - every now and then it freezes. It's not an Elan device, and yes, it is updated. I'm getting no answers from anybody (in Lenovo).  If you do not give me a real solution for the issue, or a different laptop, I promise I will make a campaign against LENOVO in Italy, as long as I work in eComm. I would't expect to see the worst customer service ever at a US company.

The touchpad on my yoga 3 only works intermittently.  Some days it shows up and the cursor shows on the screen.  Other days the system does not seem to recognize it exists.  It does not show up in device mager when its not working.    I end up pluggin in an external mouse.  The has been going on for about 6 months.  Anyone have any ideas?  Assume this is a hardware issue of some sort.

The Trackpoint works, and using the "smart area" settings in the ELAN smart-pad settings menu I can se that the touch is being recognized but it wont move the cursor.

This Lenovo Yoga 11e Chromebook was issued to me by my school. I've had it for a little while now, and I've kept it in excellent condition. However, very recently, the touchpad started freezing for up to 15 or so seconds at a time. It also clicks randomly some times when I only intend to move the cursor. Some times the place that the cursor is when I click isn't the place on the screen that actually gets clicked, as if something needs to be recalibrated. The reason I mentioned this was a school-issued Chromebook is because that means I cannot alter the device in anyway. So, I can't really uninstall and reinstall any drivers. If, before the school year ends, I have no success, I will take the device to tech support and instead of getting the issue actually taken care of, I will be issued a new Chromebook. If there's any information I need to provide so that you can help me out, please request it and it will be provided. Thank you!

A:Yoga 11e - TouchPad Freezing

Seems to exhibit this issue most when Chromebook video/processing hits peak.   Thusfar no response or fixes found on my end either.  Unfortunately I've got the same issue times 188 Chromebooks.  5 entire mobile carts of malfunctioning Chromebooks.  Stellar investment!  =/

In Yoga 900 the touchpad does not scroll sometimes even I updated all the drivers or restored the computer. I thought it was just me having this problem but then I read in the reviews on Lenovo web site that some users was complaining quote "trackpad isn't reliable as it doesn't scroll sometimes. Not sure if I am missing something or this is genuinely a problem. in any case, would appreciate Lenovo's attention on this".

To be more concrete the scrolling with two fingers with the touchpad (trackpad) seems to work well in desktop apps like Chrome, but does not seem to work well in windows metro or windows metro app. For example, going to Windows 10 Button > All apps, scrolling will not work there with two fingers using touchpad. Nor will it work in Windows 10 > Settings > any options. Switching to Chrome it will imediately work smoothly.

Number of users affected is at least 2 so I decided to bring it up here so it can be resolved.

A:Yoga 900 - Touchpad does not scroll sometimes

I have the same problem with the touchpad/trackpad. Chrome, IE, and Edge two finger scroll acceptably.   Windows (start menu and settings) and metro apps will work after a reboot until you click on something and then scrolling breaks completely (or behaves very erratically in these applications). I've tried reinstalling the touchpad drivers (trying to uninstall fails for me) and creating the "UseScrollCursor" registry key that some people have reported, but I haven't had any success. I'm glad I purchased with a 15 day return policy. I will wait a few days to see if a fix comes out, but I can't live with this type of bug.

Hi folks,I had it already one month ago and since yesterday again:I used the Yoga with Software "PDF Annotator", typing and using the pen for annotations in a pdf at the same time. Not in Tablet- but in normal Laptop-Mode. After that, I could not use the touchpad anymore, it would not respond. Moving the mouse with the trackball works. And the touchscreen works as well.At the same time, it switched on capslock and it's not possible to change that. And then once in a while everything is fine again and then it starts again. Rebooting doesn't solve the problem.Software, also BIOS, is updated (yesterday).Drivers are all new (should I remove them though and install again?) I hope you can help me!Jule

I'm using Windows 10 and I can't find any settings for the touchpad. When I run Lenovo Settings, the only touchpad-related setting I have is to turn the touchpad on or off. When I go to All Settings in Windows, there is just a Mouse option (not Mouse & Settings as I see on many other people's screenshots). When I use Control Panel to go to Mouse, there are just the standard mouse settings - nothing related to a touchpad. And I'm very happy with the way my mouse is working so I don't want to tweak any of its settings. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

My new Yoga 11e often boots with the touch pad not working. A restart by using the touch screen and it works again... I've got the newest drivers installed. And Windows 8.1 x64 is fully updated. On the occasions when it doesn't work, there are several Event ID 219 errors (task category 212) in the System Event Log. These refer to to following - : 'The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0002''The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0003''The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0004''The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0005''The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ROOT\SYSTEM\0006''The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device HID\ITE8386&Col02\4&3a253277&0&001' This is the order they appear in - with the 0002 happening first. Note the different caps on the last one - thats as per Event Log. I've set the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework' service to Automatic. This is listed as 'Automatic (Trigger Start)'. But the problem still occurs -  mainly after the laptop have been turned off for more than 10 minutes.  Anyone else noticed this problem?

A:Yoga 11e TouchPad Issue

UPDATE After innocently installing the suggested Power Management Driver update via the Lenovo System Update application Windows 8 completely killed itself and I had to use the recovery USB stick I made to Refresh windows and get it working again! That's really disappointing Lenovo - and quite ridiculous that a suggested update should break the laptop so easily. After this the SYSTEM errors vanished - so I've linked those errors to the Logitech Anywhere MX mouse I was using. This mouse has not been reconnected.... The trackpad still fails to function though - with the same error in Event Log. Going to run all the main updates (apart from the Power Management one!) in System Updates and see what happens.

Hi there. I recently purchased a Yoga 300 and a Yoga 500, and the laptops are pretty great - everything works pretty well apart from the ALPS touchpad, which frankly, is the worst touchpad I've ever used on a laptop... there's about a 50% chance that any click or movement you input into the thing is not registered... The ALPS is a mistake, why not stick with a symantec pad? just visiting the ALPS site should set off alarm bells. Broken graphics, garbled english and a disclaimer that they refuse to supply end users with drivers - and that's the entirety of the site. Honestly, the trackpad on the yoga cripples the device so badly, I'm debating just returning it, and shelling out for a surface or something. --- What bothers me most is that the lenovo driver supplied with the yoga laptops has multi-touch scrolling, but the scroll direction is reversed to literally every other device on the market. The settings menu for the thing has an option to reverse the scroll direction for horizontal scrolling, but not for vertical scrolling. What gives? To include the feature, but hard-force it to run backwards, and not even offer the option to reverse it? What kind of person does that? Does anyone have an ALPS driver that would let me set the scrolling direction to the sane direction? It's driving me nuts, and I've spent three days looking for a driver that will work and do what lenovo should have done to start with.

Hello! I just bought a Yoga 910 which I changed from a mack book pro, and I'm quite happy with it, but I was quite shocked when I saw there are no media keys(besides the volume ones) which for me is increadible, since I'm listening to music all the time, and I want to skip to the next one, listen again, start and pause( I really wonder how there are no more people complaining about this). But anyway, my idea is to change the lock screen, turn camera off, and airplane mode keys, which I will not use, at least so many times a day as I use the media ones, and I got sharpe keys, but in the function "type key" it only detectes the loc screenkey as "Special: left  windows( E0B5)", so I only changed that one for now. And since I have to restart the computer every time I don't really want to go by try and error way to find the other two... Since there are like 50 "unknow:0x00..." keys plus the "Special:..." that i don't know for which key is... So I wanted to know if you guys know the code for the aiplanemode key and turn camera off key, or how could I find that myself( I google it, but couldn't find anything), so I can change them withou losing a day restarting the computer... The other question is, I can see that I can decide for what is the three finger swipe or tap, but is only between action center and cortana, which I don't get why can't I change the tap to go to the task view? how could I set that up?Bonus question, how could I make it to, when I maximize a window to... Hello, I am coming from a Lenovo T61, and I LOVED the touchpad and buttons on that laptop.I do not like not having physical left and right click buttons, I do know you can click on the bottom left and right of the trackpad to achieve this but it sucks because I like to leave my thumb on the left click button while I use the track pad with my pointer, but the left click button area will also move the mouse cursor so my thumb moves it when I try to click and half the time the pointer moves before the button is pressed all the way. Can you disable the trackpad where the left and right click buttons are? If that is not doable, I guess I am going to have to cave in on tapping I've always had issues with that on laptops, tapping things while I am moving around.I was thinking, maybe I can set 2 finger tap for left click and 3 finger tap for right click? How can I do that?
