Using Internet Explorer 11 but site displays warning that I need internet Explorer 9 or higher.

Q: Using Internet Explorer 11 but site displays warning that I need internet Explorer 9 or higher.

I am using internet Explorer 11 to access the www.nemsis.org site and when I go to access http://www.nemsis.org/media/CustomElementLibrary/ .

I get the error message below:

I can use Chrome just fine to access the page. I have a coworker who can access just it just fine and he is using Internet Explorer 11 and was also able to access on Firefox. Is there something I am missing to access it? The page should display a map.

Thank you in advanced.

Preferred Solution: Using Internet Explorer 11 but site displays warning that I need internet Explorer 9 or higher.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Using Internet Explorer 11 but site displays warning that I need internet Explorer 9 or higher.

Answered my own question. Apparently if I place a check in the "Use Microsofts Compatibility list and uncheck the "Displa intranet sites in Compatibility View" it works.

I downloaded a re-direct anti-virus program.
I was able to kill it with RKill, but there are still some lingering issues going on.
When I try to connect to the internet via Google.com I get this message "Internet Explorer Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!"
I have run Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials.
They have removed numerous Trojans etc, but I still get the Internet Explorer Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!
When I tried running HIJackThis, I get a message "For some reason system denied write access to the Hosts file...."

Any clue how bad it really is?

Thanks,

I have an infected laptop running XP Pro SP3. It had Spyware Protect 2009 on it but I was able to stop the sysguard.exe process and delete sysguard.exe from the Windows subdirectory and from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\....\Run registry hive. There is still at least one other major problem. IE 7 is redirected to display "internet explorer warning visiting this web site may harm your computer" most of the time. I can get to google sometimes and even search something but when I try to follow a link - I get the redirection message. It also prevents me from running a system restore and most of the scanning software such as malwarebytes, SDfix and several others. I was able to run HijackThis but when I tried to post the report, it redirected me again so I saved the log file to a thumbdrive and logged onto an uninfected computer to post this.

I'm attaching the log file.

I have tried most of the posts on the internet to fix this problem--this is under IE6--"Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." The problem just suddenly appeared. I'm running a Dell Inspiron B130 laptop with Win XP Home, Service Pack 3 installed, 1 gb ram and a 40 gb HDD. Had McAffee Internet Security Suite preinstalled but removed it via REVO Uninstaller and have only Windows firewall enabled and NO anti-virus. I did try downloading with Windows firewall disbaled and still no success. I can navigate to a site like Google Chrome download page but then when I click on the download button, the error message appears. Also can't download Microsoft or Windows updates from either site, although, again, I can get through the "checking" phase. I've run Malwarebytes, A-Squared, and IObit 360 and removed about 13 traces of malware ranging from low risk to high risk, defragged and cleaned the reg, all to no avail. I originally had IE7 installed, read about rolling back to IE6 and doing the typical repair sequences, again to no avail. Supposedly IE8 fixes this, but I can't download it, although I did try the stand-alone installer of 15 MB without checking the "get updates" box. It loaded and installed and shows up as IE8 but still had the same problems. Then did a system restore back to before the IE8 install, rolled back to IE6 again... Read more

Hi,
I recently bought a new computer with Windows 8.1 which uses Internet Explorer 11 and have been unable to use a CD-ROM (supplied in a textbook I bought) livetext program on which there are stored answers. I desperately need to use
this as I have exams in about 2 months and am severely stressed so this is not helping at all since this is the only way I can check that I am doing my work correctly.
On my old computer with Windows Vista I was able to open the program successfully but with this version I am unable to. I have tried Mozilla, Firefox and Google Chrome but they too do not work and anyway I prefer to use Internet Explorer.
The program is an "Application (.exe)". Whenever I press the link to the livetext program (known as solutionbank) a message appears
"solutionbank requires internet explorer v6 or higher".
I have checked the Microsoft forums for help but no one seems to know anything about the issue.
Thanks

Hi HTMLNewbie, and welcome to TSG.

Are you talking about a web site for which are managing and creating content (TSG has a separate Web Development forum)? It would help to give us the URL for it.

Are you saying that Internet Explorer is showing HTML code for any web site you visit (TSG has a separate Web & E-mail forum). The exact version of IE and Windows might help for starters.

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer displaying the wrong pages. Sometimes, like 5 percent of the links I click on will take me to the wrong page. The strange thing is that when this happens it ALWAYS takes me to a page that I have previously visited instead of the page I was trying to reach. For example when I click on a link to ebay it will take me to google instead. Strangest of all, the address of the page that I was TRYING to get to will be in the address bar rather than the address of the page that is actually displayed.

I have deleted all cookies and temporary internet files. I have also ran Ad-aware 6 as well as Spybot both with the latest reference files. I have also purged my cache, cookie and history folders with PurgeIE. I use PC-Cillin 2000 with the latest pattern files. I have also ran Stinger. I am running XP home with IE 6.

A:internet explorer cannot open the internet site...

Did you try other sites ? That is a quick check to see if the problem is your browser. And it would need to be a site that uses similar setup. So if the page that doesn;'t display has lots of javascript, go to another one that has lots of javascript, etc.

On one of my sites, sometimes one particular page wouldn't display. I had to re-edit it, upload, it works fine now. So it may not be your browser. It could be that site.

Hi, perkinshershel, and welcome to the forums.
Have you performed any sort of autotuning disabling on your machine, or else 'tweaked' the TCP/IP settings?

FWIW, Vista doesn't do well with tweaked TCP/IP settings like XP does - it has an autotuning feature that dynamically changes the values for various settings n the TCP/IP stack as needed, thereby making the need for tweaked TCP/IP settings a thing of the past.

A new window opened in Internet Explorer displays a blank white page.

I tried all these fixes:
- windows updates (Win 7sp1 and IE9.0.9)
A new window opened in Internet Explorer displays a blank white page
- Microsoft Fix it 50191
- re-register the DLL
Nothing happens when you click a link in Internet Explorer
- Check your default web browser setting
- Change the file types that Internet Explorer opens by default
- Use the Internet Explorer No Add-ons mode
- Reset Internet Explorer settings
- Reregister the necessary Internet Explorer DLL files
- Use System Restore

The problem remains unsolved.

Everything else runs fast and perfectly on my computer, included Mozilla Firefox. However I don't like when something doesn't run very well. Someone has an idea?

A:Internet Explorer displays a blank white page

Hi,

You can follow the below mentioned steps in order which could fix the issue:

Change the compatibility mode IE. To turn Compatibility View on, click the Compatibility View button to make the icon change from an outline to a solid color. This option will be seen on the address bar.

Turn off hardware acceleration by going to Internet options. You can even refer to the article on the URL mentioned: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2528233

Reinstall the Adobe flash player and latest JAVA.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling IE, Use the following FIXIT for uninstalling the same http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9787447
Then proceed with downloading an updated version of IE from the URL mentioned: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/internet-explorer/products/ie/home

If the above troubleshooting steps fail, try creating a New User Account to check if the problem persists.

With these logs we can determine the infections present & decide whether to deploy ComboFix

Sorry about the vague title, but I really don't know what it is called.

The top bar, the one that has an icon then followed by the title of the web page (above the bar with file, edit, etc.) only displays the icon, then a single letter.

For example, if it was this page, then it would only be T, and if it is google, it would only be G.

Once again, I'm sorry for the vague title, and I'm also sorry if I posted inthe wrong forum. Any help is appreciated, though this is not a serious problem, I find it's a little harder to manage when I am browsing the internet or doing research.

Thanks in advance

Every time I go to my hotmail account a warning from IE comes up stating that "this page is accessing information that it is not entitled to, do you want to proceed YES or NO"
Why is this happening and how do I prevent it?

A:Internet Explorer warning

Try Adding hotmail.com to trusted sites. To do this go to tools -> internet options -> security -> click on trusted sites, click on sites. in the box type in hotmail.com and click add. Click ok on all boxes and restart internet explorer, then try again. Never seen that message before but i am guessing this might fix it.

You may need to untick the box that says require verification.

Hello

I came across this site http://www.dogagent.com
On the front page it says "The pages are designed only to work in Internet Explorer 5.0 or later".

Can anyone explain why the site wouldn't work with another browser?

Ideas welcomed!

This is your computer telling you DO NOT INSTALL KAZAA!

Kazaa comes with so much spyware and other malware you are better off not installing it

Hi,
During Windows update I'm getting the following Internet Explorer-Security Warning:
Do you want to install this software?
Name: Windows Update
Publisher: Microsoft Windows Component Publisher This pops up during the "checking for correct update software" message.
I'm a couple months behind on the updates, and this has never happened before. It seems legite, just wanted to check here first before accepting/installing it.
Thanks in advance for your time,
patmac

A:Internet Explorer-Security Warning

For the short answer: That's Normal

For the long answer, if you open Internet Explorer and up at the top, click on "Tools" then click Windows Update, this is about the best way to ensure that you are definitely going to the right site. After that, there's not much to worry about, if you trust Microsoft that is.

Occasionally Microsoft does push out new versions of the client software that runs on your computer and interfaces with their update system.

My laptop has been fine with IE until this morning when everytime I open a webpage a Internet Explorer Security Warning comes up at least twice. I have a 64bit Vista SP2 with IE8. I'll type the error message:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Internet Explorer Security (blue taskbar)

A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer.

This program will open outside of Protected Mode. Internet Explorer's Protected Mode helps protect your computer. If you do not trust this website, do not open this program.

Name: Adobe Flash Player
Publisher: Adobe Systems Incorporated

Do not show me the warning for this program again (checkbox)

Then there are two buttons: Allow or Don't allow
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried uninstalling and installing adobe flash numerous times to no avail. Please help ASAP!!!

Hi there,

Not sure if I am in the right section for this problem.

My internet explorer worked fine this morning and now when I go into it it immediately pops up this warning: "[email protected] is a virus that infects files with .exe extensions. It attempts to steal passwords and private information from the infected computer."

<removed links to rogue sites>

Either way, my normal homepage will no longer come up and I have to continually delete the above warning and pages for a warning to naviagte away from the 'secure' page to get were I want to go.

I have Norton Internet Security on my pc and shows that it's secure. Why would I be getting this notice?

Any help would be helpful.
Thanks so much!

LisaMarie

When I type in a url or click search results, IE takes me to different site. My computer did have a virus and malware removed recently. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware finds nothing - SuperAntiSpyware finds nothing. I had avg at the time all this started happening. I have Mcafee on her now and it finds nothing.
I've tried to follow some of the advise to similar posts but I still have a problem.

Hello
My Internet Explorer is not loading one particular site but another browser is.  The site in question was once a part of Kaspersky's Smart Money list and is a bank.  It has been deleted and that software was recently upgraded to a newer product (Total Security).  I do not know if the a/v is the issue or not.  What I do know is that when I try to load the web page, the browser comes back VERY quickly and states that the address is wrong or my connection to the Internet is down.  Neither is true, of course.

I need some assistance to trouble shoot and try to find out a way to fix this.

System is a HP ENVY, Windows 8.1 x64, IE 11. All MS updates are current.
Thanks
shley

Try resetting Internet explorer settings to default. Open the run box by holding down the Windows key and pressing "R".  Next Copy and past the following command and click RESET.

Looking for some advice: I am creating a website and need to test the site using IE 6. Does anyone know of a place that I can test my site using IE 6 browser. I currently have IE 7 installed, but when I view my site using IE6 the 3 column template does not fit on the home page.

I don't want to run IE6 on my computer or both versions of IE... Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

A:Internet Explorer 6 Test Site

Do you have a spare computer that you could install IE 6 on and open the website using that. Even better create a virtual machine on your computer then install Windows XP evaluation on it and open the site using your virtual machine.

Microsoft have a free tool to make and run virtual machines called Microsoft Virtual PC.

Hello,
I purchased a new desktop. Sony VAIO, too much crap in it but it had most of what I wanted. I had to add a wireless adapter to access home network and internet.
At first I could get to MSN via internet explorer then I could not.
I can get to most internet but many pages won't load including microsoft, windows update, sony, etc.

Any Ideas why this has occurred?
Ideas to correct. I turned off Windows firewall because I use Norton's.
I can also access hotmail.

I just got my custom pc build few weeks ago. everything is awesome on it upset for one issue with internet. see when i surf the net most website workd fine but than some website i go on the page just loads but than nothing happens, just freezes up. this happens sepcialy on website like facebook.com, and oher webstie where you have to long in and stuff liek that. plz help me find a solution to the problem .

A:internet explorer freezes on some site need help

Hi defkickjam

Did you build the system, or did someone build it for you? If someone built it for you, and you are experiencing freezes within two weeks, you may want to contact the builder.

If you built this yourself ---

1) Have a look in the EventViewer logs to see if any errors or warnings coincide with the system unresponsiveness. (EventViewer is in the Administrative Tools in Control Panel).
2) Thoroughly scan for malware -- if you have run the PC for any extended period without the firewall or antivirus enabled, malware could be causing the trouble.
3) Try using a different browser (Firefox is fairly good) & see if the problem exists using all browsers, or just one.
4) If you are currently logging into Vista as a "limited" user, try logging on as a user with administrative rights.
5) Have you changed any of the UAC settings recently? If so, try moving them back to their default settings. A security message might be trying to display, & Vista is hanging while waiting for a reply.

Best of luck
. . . Gary
