Intel HD Graphics 4600 driver not installing correctly.

Q: Intel HD Graphics 4600 driver not installing correctly.

The newest release of this driver is version 15.40.10.64.4300. After installing, my computer restarts and everything is fine. My problem occurs after a couple of days (I think it is caused when I switch power plans or unplug laptop) the power saving technology in the Intel graphics control panel is turned on even though I have the setting disabled. This setting is very annoying because on a white background the brightness is normal, but when on a darker background the brightness gradually decreases. Also when looking in Intel graphics control panel it says I have driver version 20.19.15.4300. Even though I have installed the newest update.

Side note I have the windows power option turned off for adaptive brightness

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Intel HD Graphics 4600 driver not installing correctly.

Right-click on the desktop and select Graphics properties (this is the Intel Control Panel). See if you can adjust the brightness from there and turn off any power option.

Well! That was a jarring experience! Just got a update via WU for Intel HD Graphics 4600. During install, it went absolutely bonkers on the display. Kaleidoscope wacky! Just let it be for a minute or so to finish install, then power button off/on. Wow!

A:New Intel HD Graphics 4600 Driver Update in WU

This one seems to have messed my Windows 10 opening icons (e.g. the cogwheel when opening settings app), they're like pixelated or lower quality. Restart didn't fix it, going to uninstall clean and let it download from scratch via WU again.

Update: Yes, it worked, icons are normal again.

After upgrading to Windows 10, the Intel HD Graphics 4600 display adapter has stopped working properly. Attempted to get the updated driver from both Intel AND HP websites to no avail. Have been reading on Microsoft's website that this display adapter is NOT compatible with Windows 10, period and there is no answer to fix the problem??? Computer keeps giving errors 'display adapter has stopped working and has recovered' or something like that, and also several programs stop working properly like our Zune software. Does anyone have any answers? Would replacing the video card with something different fix this issue? HELP!

Hi there. So long storry short. I've had some trouble with my pc being super slow, so I went to Lenovo authorised fix center and they had replaced motherboard. Unfortunately, since then I cannot use my computer properly anymore. Everytime I try to install Intel HD 4600 drivers, my pc either crashes while installing drivers or later on with a pop sound. I went back to them and they tested everything and couldn't find what's wrong. Moreover, I have tried quite a lot of different versions of Intel drivers. I've tried ones which was provided with laptop, from lenovo support center as well, then I've tried various generic drivers from Intel site (tried to install automatically, manually, in the safe mode, reiinstalling windows 8.1, updating chipset drivers and so on (even flashing bios to 3.0V 2.1v 1.13v)), but none of them work. Or if they do, then they would crash when I connect external monitor or while playing video games such as lol. I would think its a heat issue, because my keyboard becomes very hot, but I am monitoring laptop's temperatures and it doesnt go above 70 celsius. As well, heat wouldn't explain why pc crashes right after driver installation while doing nothing with it. However, without intel hd graphics drivers computer works fine, haven't crashed even once. Although, without intel hd drivers I cannot play any video games. Can someone suggest me what should i do in such situation? Thanks in advance! Specs:CPU Intel core i5-4210H 2.90GHzRam 8GBGPU ... First off, the authorised service center cannot get off the hook by just saying that they cannot find what is wrong, so I would make them do what ever it takes to get it working properly after they replaced the system board. That said, because your system has both the Intel and the GEForce 960m, if you must do it yourself, you need need to remove both drivers completely, and then start clean using the latest ones provided/tested from Lenovo to ensure that both cards work seamlessly together.. When uninstalling the card via Device manager, make sure to check the box to "Delete driver software for this device" to ensure that you will install a clean copy.   Next go into the Programs and Features control panel and uninstall any Nvidia software such as GEForce Experience etc. too. Once everything is uninstalled and the system has been rebooted, try reinstalling the latest Lenovo versions for both the 4600 and 960m and see if that helps. Another thing you might try is running an SFC scan to see if all the Windows system files are intact, but if you still have trouble, I would put it on the Lenvo Service Center's lap to get it working as it should. Good Luck

I disabled the Intel HD graphics driver, and used the NVIDIA graphics driver to play the game.  No problem. Disabling the Intel driver resulted in the fan speed reving at a higher speed intermittently.HP Smart Friend support assured me that the higher fan speed behavior would not result in problems with premature hardware failure down the road.  Do you concur? They indicated my choices were to keep the Intel HD graphic driver disabled and use the NVIDIA solely, or live with the problem until HP releases a newer Intel driver - it only affects game playing, all other functions appear to be normal.

Hello. My PC uses Intel HD Graphics 4600 for its graphics driver. Here is the link to the latest driver version:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...15-40-4th-Gen-

However, when I go on to Device Manager and select 'Update Driver Software' it gives me this driver version:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...-for-Intel-NUC

As you can see, this driver software states that it is for Intel NUC products (which I do not have), but it still gives me it as the 'latest driver software' for my Intel HD Graphics 4600.

Finally, when I run Intel's automatic driver finder and installer, I get this driver:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...0-3rd-Gen-BYT-

I am extremely confused with which driver is the latest and best for my PC. Could someone please help me? Thank you in advance.

I would install the latest Driver Version: 15.40.10.64.4300 which supports your Intel HD 4600 (4th generation Intel processor)
Only limitation you need to have windows 10 64 bit version.

Ps. You are sure you have a Intel HD 4600 and not a HD4000, because than you have to install Version: 15.33.39.4276 (Latest)

I downloaded the latest new drivers for this card - ones that were made available because of the release of Windows 10 and this installation made no difference. I even uninstalled the existing drivers and than rebooted. No luck.

What have I missed?? Everything else seems to work. I have only had windows 10 on my laptop now for about 2 hours. Not sure what will happen later as time goes on.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Good Evening

Any one out there that could possibly help in getting Transport Giant Gold edition (without any other mods installed) to run on my new HP model. HP Pro Book 450 G1.
What amazes me is that an older program called Freight Tycoon runs perfectly, but the TG Gold "stops" at the menu, when it wants to do the "screen resolution check".
I have it running on another pc with Win 7 Home Edition without any problems!
Is it just the diff between Win 7 Pro & Home Edition that will not let the program run?
Any ideas and or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thank you & have a great evening

It's probably not the difference between the Home Edition and Pro that's causing the problem. It's likely that the game is finding something in your graphics card that it doesn't like.

Are your video drivers installed and up to date with the most recent version applicable to your PC?

Which of these two is better? I have both of them in my PC. I have heard that the hd graphics does better than the nvidia gt 610. Would it make any difference if I disable the nvidia card and use the intel graphics? Or do both of them work together in sync?

A:Intel HD Graphics 4600 with Nvida GT 610

You really, seriously believe that the Intel HD is better than the Nvidia?! Then the joke is on you, my friend. I don't know where you got your info, but it's just flat-out wrong.

Try play a relatively recent game with the Intel HD forcefully set as your primary card (in the Nvidia Control Panel). It may run OK, maybe not. Then forcefully set the Nvidia as your primary card and play the same game again. You'll see how much better it runs. Maybe not great, but it will beat the Intel HD by a mile any day.

Combo Intel HD/Nvidia setups are known as Optimus. The Intel will generally run the primary display when not gaming, but the Nvidia should (but not always) automatically take the reigns when a game or other 3D application is started. But you can forcefully set either the Intel or the Nvidia as the primary display to override this behavior. I will assume you have a laptop rather than a desktop, I also have an Alienware laptop with Optimus. I play games on it all the times, including newer games like Grand Theft Auto V, Fallout 4, etc, they run pretty well for the most part (after some tweaking). But I have forcefully set the Nvidia to run as primary all the time.

Hello, i recently upgraded to windows 8 pro from win 7, and i am trying to install the graphics drivers for the "Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family", but it won't install and displays a message that, "An unknown error has occured". I had no problems in installing the driver in Windows 7, but now in Windows 8, it refuses to install.

Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

A:Problems on installing Intel 82915G Graphics driver

If you search a bit on the Web, you'll find that Intel made no drivers newer than XP for those graphics. Windows 7 can use XP drivers (with no Aero Glass effects), but Win8 only permits WDDM 1.0 (Vista) drivers or newer. I know of no hacks to circumvent that.

The only option that I can suggest is adding a discrete graphics card that has supported drivers, if you have a desktop system.

Sorry that I can't be more encouraging.

Hi. I am in the process of installing drivers onto my computer. I just reinstalled XP Home Edition on my Dell Inspiron e1505/6400.

So far I have installed the following drivers:

Notebook System
Chipset
Broadcom Broadband
Wireless
Touchpad
Audio
and (I think) Modem...I'm not sure if the last one worked or not.

Now I'm trying to install the video driver and it won't work!

This is the error window that pops up.

One or more files required for installation are either missing or corrupt.
Setup will exit.

Have you tried to download drivers directly from the Intel website?
Or, if you have already downloaded from there, to download the file(s) again?

I have tried to resolve the issue myself for few days. Without luck. So I am seeking for help here.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I can do every single Windows Update without issues, unfortunately in last 3-4 days, I am being offered with Windows Update for Intel HD Graphics 4600, which always fails to install.

I have downloaded original driver from my laptop manufactures website (MSI) and tried to install update after installing the original one - it did not work. I have also tried driver directly from INTEL's website - no joy as well.

Any idea what is going wrong?

Facts:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
Laptop: MSI GE62 2QF Apache Pro

CBS.zip attached.

Thank you.

A:Intel HD Graphics 4600 - Code 80070103

Hi P4ra,
I wouldn't actually use windows DRIVERs updates for an MSI board, see screenshot to turn OFF.
The CBS logs dont give any indication why it failed.
If your current version is working i woudn't worry to much. Although if you want to investigate further can you look in the
setupapi_dev.log, for any access denied errors:
post any error messages

Hey all,

I recently built an Intel Core i5-4690K w/ Asus Z97-A Motherboard. It has built in Intel HD Graphics 4600.

The motherboard has HDMI/DVI-D/S-VGA & Display Port.

I am using a Insignia NS-28E200NA14 28" 720P TV as a monitor.

It has HDMI and VGA inputs.

I use to just run VGA, but with my new computer I am doing a dual boot Windows 7 / OSX system.

OSX does not support VGA only DVI and HDMI...

Soo, fast forward to my problem, I am using HDMI which works fine, except that every time my computer goes into power save (sleep) mode, instead of the tv/monitor also going into sleep mode as it did with VGA, it just says No signal then after a few minutes of no signal, it turns it self completely off...

The problem with this is that every time I want to wake the computer up, I also have to turn the TV/Monitor back on as it has shut itself off completely instead of just "Power save" mode..

The motherboard's DVI port is a DVI-D port, so I can't simply just use a DVI-I - VGA adaptor...

Is there any kind of solution for me? I've got to use either the HDMI, DVI-D or Display Port as those are the only ones that are supported both by Windows and OSX.

Thanks!

-TheChad

First Post. Good Morning, all.  For the past 5 days at shutdown I have received update 1 of 1 which is an attempt to update "Intel Corporation driver update for Intel HD Graphics 4600" driver. It has failed each day. I have not noted any problems during the normal daily operation.  It is only at shutdown that Update 1 of 1 is attempted. I have not attempted a manual request for a download assuming it will generate the same result. I have not updated to Windows 10 and have turned off attempts to do so. Any suggestions appreciated.

@Photon713?, welcome to the forum. I have had this same problem recently with Win 10.  I simply go into Windows Update and remove the update.  It will come back sooner or later and install, but in the meantime I am not getting a request to install it.  You might give this a try to see what happens. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Hi All,
My laptop is a dell inspiron 14r N4010 which is installed on win 7. One day, all of a sudden my windows was unable to boot. I force powered off the computer and upon restarting i got an error message that a recent h/w or s/w change has caused windows unable to boot. I tried system restore but no avail. I went ahead and reinstalled Windows 7 on my laptop and i could see that upon installing the Intel Graphics driver , I started to face the same issue again. Upon startup recovery, i get the following message:
Root cause found:
"A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting "
Repair action: System files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed . Error code= 0x4005

Since I've zeroed in on identifying it to be the graphics driver issue, the question is how do i get the driver installed and have my system working. Without the driver, my screen looks ugly with the 800x600 resolution.
Also, I've been usng the same driver till the day my system first crashed with this issue. Can anyone please comment on how to get over this issue?

Thanks,
Atul

Hello. I have a zBook 15 with Windows 10 that had to go back to Windows 8.1 due to problems with the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver. This zBook 15 has both the Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA Quadro K2100M. After confirmation that Windows 10 was compatible with my system, I installed it and worked fine for some time until an HP update.  The HP update created a problem with the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver.Apparently the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver is no longer compatible with Windows 10.I get the following error while on Windows 10: "display driver stopped responding and has recovered display driver intel hd graphics drivers for windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered" When this happens the computer gets really slow.I called Intel and Microsoft and they informed me that HP should be working on an update for the Intel HD 4600. Adding QWORD TdrDelay in the registry makes things worst. Currently I am back to Windows 8.1 and the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 driver has not shown any errors. I would like to know if there is confirmation on a new driver for the Intel HD Graphics Card 4600 compatible with Windows 10. Thanks.

I had installed an insider preview build of windows 10 a while back and it wiped the 1920x1080p display option. I rolled back my OS and the driver, but the option did not return. Since then I have performed a clean install of windows 10 and the display option did not return. I have tried a couple times to solve the issue, but now I finally have the time to formally address this and hopefully find a fix. It's not a big issue, but it pisses me off every time I think of it. Any suggestions to fix this?

Hello everyone. Now I would recreate a topic as I do not receive any answers in the firs tone.I have a Lenovo y 70 70 T with Win 10 home x 64.I have this system since Early august. After the last big windows update( November update to build 10586.11) i started to have this error:
Intel hd 4600 Graphics driver has stopped responidng and succesfully recovered. I get this while playing games/watching videos/making videos. The screen freezes for a couple of secs. Make me sick.I wasted 3 days of my life trying to solve this by installing the suggested driver from Lenovo website and the latest from intel. All this dud not help. I also wasted around 6 hours with Windws 10 support on the phone and they made me perform repair system- nothing changed. This is 100% driver issue. Now the sad part. My laptop is on warranty and kinda expensive, especially for me and I get literally 0 support from Lenovo. Not only have not they made a normal driver( for this build of windows), but also post cheesy links to old drivers.WHen I call them they tell me(we don't have needed spare parts we are sorry), even though it is clear that the issue is with software and the product is on warranty so even if it was something with hardware, they must provide it for me.I am really sick and angry that manufacturer does not even try to make its products work even if they cost  load of money. I still have a very little hope that we will see a normal customized driver from Lenovo for Intel VGA th... I'm having the same problem, but it seems like the Lenovo peeps are not even responding to the previous comments.  I just got this same expensive laptop and I might as well just return it for refund.  I don't have the patience to wait for responses or be on hold for hours and hours on end with no solution.  This is my first Lenovo and I am very disappointed.  Will someone PLEASE FINALLY  come up with a solution to this issue?

Sorry this isn't exactly about graphics cards.

I can't seem to increase my dedicated video memory for integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600, even though I have put it up to 1024MB (1GB) in my BIOS. My Total Available Graphics Memory is 7786MB, and my Shared System Memory is 7658MB. However, no matter how much I change it in the BIOS, my Dedicated Video Memory (DVM) is always stuck at 128M. Is this a integrated graphics thing or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

A:Intel HD Graphics 4600 Dedicated Video Memory

It uses more ram when it needs it, no need to have it dedicated .
from Intel
"Since there is no performance advantage to "reserve" a lot of system memory for graphics at boot and thus making it unusable for common applications such as Excel, Photoshop, etc., Microsoft requires that Intel graphics dynamically allocates memory system only when needed - without holding a bunch of memory as "dedicated". What Windows is calling dedicated 32MB is actually only a small amount of system memory to graphics drivers reserves at the start of internal bookkeeping"

I'm having trouble installing the update for my HD Graphics 4600. Hi!
I have a 3442 Inspiron notebook with Windows 7 64 bits.
However, it does not recognize the video card... In the Devices Manager, it only shows: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, and the HDMI output is not working either...
I downloaded this file: Video_Driver_3YDMC_WN32_20.19.15.4531_A06 (from: http://www.dell.com/support/home/br/pt/brbsdt1/product-support/product/inspiron-14-3442-laptop/drivers/advanced) but, when I tried to install it (so many times), it says: "Your computer does not meet the minimum requirement for installing the software." and exit the installation... Can you, please, send me a link to download a valid driver for the Inspiron I14 3442 D10?
Thank you!
