Lenovo warranty purchase

Q: Lenovo warranty purchase

I purchased a Yoga 720 15" 2in1 three weeks ago and I am trying to decide if, when, and the type of warranty extentions I should get.I can add the " products " to the cart but I can not find the small print anywhere. IF I decide to get additional coverage I would likely go for the maximum available but I want to know what the coverage is prior to purchasing it. I have two options available in addition to the levono warranty and want to choose wisely. As it is I have over 11 months* remaining on the warranty but I think adding accidental coverage and on site service may be a good investment because I will be traveling with this laptop and I might be at the other side of the country if it breaks.I would appreciate advice on this topic. * I purchased it on 7/3/2017 and the start date for my warranty shows as 6/22/2017. Not sure what that is all about.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I recently purchased Lenovo Flex 5 (14") laptop (Part Number:  80XA0011US). This comes with 16.0GB DDR4 2133 MHz and 1TB 5400 RPM+128GB PCIe SSD.  I have 3 questions: 1) I am hoping I like the laptop. If for some reason, I want to return it, how many days I have? And, is that from the date of purchase or date of delivery?  2) I forgot to buy warranty with the purchase. How many days I have to buy warranty?  3) I bought accessory - Slim DVD Burner. Will this be attached to the laptop or is this an external one? Thanks!

Hello,I've noticed athttp://support.lenovo.com/it/it/warrantylookupthat 3-years warranty started before I purchased my X1 Carbon .It probably started from the date it was manufactured, but I bought it a year later and I don't want to lose 1 year of warranty. How can I rectify the date?  PSI can still print a pdf receipt from online store where I bought it, is it enough?

Hello everyone. I'm thinking of purchasing a T470 and it appears that it comes with a 3 year onsite warranty as standard here in the UK (with the student discount anyway). My main question is that will I be able to make warranty claims even if I'm not in the UK? I'm going to be going to China in August and I'll be there for a good 10 months (maybe more) so I want to know if I'll be able to make warranty claims there. Going along with that, if I am able to make warranty claims in China, will I have to make the claim in Chinese to Lenovo China, and what is the chance that the technician speaks English (especially in a second tier city)? I'd say my Mandarin is "OK" at the moment but I know very few computer related terms. I think I could just about get by with what I know and the dictionary app on my phone, a roommate helping, or someone in the International Students office helping over the phone, but I'd feel much better having making the claim and talking to the technician in English if possible. Finally, I'll probably buy some RAM and a SSD from Amazon if the price is significantly cheaper than Lenovo. Will I have any problems with this if I need to make a warranty claim? Thanks in advance!

I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 5567 on 2/01/2017 from Reliance Digital Store Pune. Dell support assist shows that my warranty started on 14/09/2016 and will end on 14/09/2017. As far as I know warranty should start from the date of purchase on the invoice. So I searched a little bit and got to know about the ownership transfer process. I did that 15 days ago but still haven't received any notification regarding the same. Can you guys please help regarding this process. I don't know what to do now as my warranty will end in 12 days.

A:Dell warranty only for 9 months on new purchase

If the ownership transfer doesn't go through, contact the seller to find out why - if the system was originally sold through a grey market channel, you can indeed have transfer issues - your seller should be able to tell you.

I have purchased one Dell Vostro 3546 series laptop 2 days back i.e 4th June 2015. When I checked the Warranty details for my laptop (tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>) it shows that the warranty will expire on 24-Dec-15 which is less than 6 months whereas the Dell provides the 15 months warranty for this laptop.
It shows that the product is shipped on 24-Sep-14 and thus the warranty will expire on 24-Dec-15 but how come the warranty will expire when the product was not at all purchased by customer.
I have purchased this laptop from authorized dealer under the bill from Nehru Place and request you to please let me know the solution for my problem.
Thanks

You need to register the system with Dell (transfer ownership to your name) to initialize the warranty.

If not, since I am reporting the problem before the warranty expires, can I get it repaired in July, after the warranty has technically expired? Thanks.

It seems Lenovo just rolled out new plans for  Thinkpad customer to choose their warranty add-ons. It moved from old optional plans with different extent of bundled products (e.g. ADP, KYD, Sealed battery) into an a-la-carte item model for the customer to choose. I compare Lenovo online sales website in HK, JP, SG and US and have the following findings: 1. Not all countries have rolled out the new warranty options scheme yet (e.g. Lenovo HK and Lenovo JP is still using old "bundled" warranty plan option) 2. Inconsistencies on the choice of additional warranty services available for Thinkpad customers (For Levono SG, Seal Battery, Keep Your Drive are not available as add-ons if the customer chooses Depot Warranty plan, while Lenovo US offers these add-ons to both Depot and Onsite Warranty. Meanwhile, Lenovo US customer need to buy an add-on for international warranty but Lenovo HK, SG offers the international warranty to all new Thinkpads they sold. 3. Lack of transparency on warranty add-on pricing. I noted Lenovo SG priced Seal Battery Add-on for T480s at SGD330 but same Add ons in Lenovo US is only quoted at USD$26. Can Lenovo explain why such discrepencies happen? And welcome you all share your findings on the Thinkpad warranty add-on offerings in your home country.

HiThe fan of my less-than-half-a-year-old T470 suddenly began to emit strange noise and I went to a local service provider in CA. My laptop was bought in Russia with a 3-year international warranty. The service provider told me that he might have to send it back to Russia, and they will consult with Lenovo within a week. That is a huge surprise for me, as shipping it back and forth might take a long time. Can I somehow request to repair my laptop inside the US and is there any opportunity to claim a temporary replacement for the time the laptop is being repaired? Thanks

I am totally disappointed in Lenovo's customer support. My lenovo 710s was bought less than 1 year ago (as of 10/6/2017, when I sent it in for repairs) and had 2 years warranty (1+1 year of extended warranty). I sent my laptop for repair due to a white spot issue on the monitor, affecting viewing of webpages and videos. However, the laptop was returned after 3 weeks without any fixes/repairs, as Lenovo claimed that it was a cosmetic issue. I wrote a message on their customer care website on 3/7/2017. However, they ignored me and there was no reply to date.  I thought Lenovo is a reliable and popular brand. However, it turned out to be a horrible decision, much to my dismay!

So a few months ago i bought a used lenovo P50. 32 gigs of ram, 6820hq, Quadro M2000M. I'm using it as a daily workstation. I payed quiet a bit for it but it's a good machine and i'm generally happy with it.  Of course, one of the reasons i payed well for it was that it had almost 2 years of top notch international warranty remaining. It came from a German company, has been bought for company use in a big pack of maybe 50 or more pieces.  When i was buying it i checked the international warranty using the machines serial number. The lenovo website said i have more then 500days of warranty remaining. So i bought the machine and have been using it since then. Recently i tought that i was having problems with a malufunctioning USB port. Turned out it was my USB drive, not the port. But since i was thinking about RMAing it, not knowing that the port is actually fine. I went checking how much warranty i have got left. (This was about 3 months after i bought the machine).  So i come to the lenovo warranty check, type my serial number in and a nice suprise is waiting for me there.  Warranty status: expired, 0 days left. Together with the text:  This machine was sold by the manufacturer without warranty. Claims for warranty service will be rejected by the manufacturer.Origin: Factory Warranty  So okay lenovo, i understand that sometimes you sell machines with no warranty because the reseller is going... Hello,
Heres the story, Ill try to be brief. I bought this computer K330-77273GU on 6/1.Lenovo - IdeaCentre - Desktop PCs - K Series- K330 Had a code for 20% off so I paid $800 for it. (Feel free to comment on the computer.) Needed it fairly quick so I shopped a bit but didn't dig too deep. My bad. After I received it I found this forum and started digging. Wanted to know exactly what was inside for upgrades later and I just wanted to know.

I found out Intel recalled some motherboards back in Jan. or Feb. I believe, but was shipping new mobos with the problem corrected. I have this mobo but said to myself surly the BRAND NEW COMPUTER I BOUGHT DIRECTLY FROM LENOVOS WEB SITE must have the new mobo. I sat on this info for a while but it bugged me so I called today. Guess what, I HAVE THE OLD MOBO.

I was told by the operator that the mobo could be replaced, the computer could be replaced or I could receive a refund. He gave me another number to call when I make a decision. Haven't called yet. What a way to do business. How long will they continue to sell computers with this defective mobo?

I realize the problem is with sata ports 2-5 and I am only using 0-1 now, but really. One of the reasons I gave Lenovo a shot was the IBM name behind it. That worked out well for me.

So now after Ive slowly installed my programs and data so if I had a problem I would know the culprit, I have to start all over. Thing is I was liking the computer.

Feel free to comment on the computer... Read more

A:Lenovo purchase gone bad

As Lenovo have given you three positive outcomes you've come out on top already.

Replace the motherboard, replace the computer or a full refund? I think Lenovo have made the right call.

Asking them to send you a far more expensive one than the one you freely bought is pushing the boundaries of customer service too much I feel.

If they'd done nothing or tried to fob you off, then you would have a gripe. As it is, take what you think is best for you - you've already said you like the computer.

Good morning! I was hoping someone might be able to give me the benefit of their experience(s) between these two wireless card options: Lenovo AC Wireless (1x1) vs. Lenovo AC Wireless (2x2). In configuring my specs for the model I'm considering, I was not given the option to change to (2x2), although both are "Lenovo AC Wireless" ( which I assume is ac wireless capability). Will I regret having to go with (1x1)--or will there be no significant slowdown or issues with this difference? Thank you for any information you can offer!

Last year, before configuring my T450s, I did my research to make sure there would be no surprises. This is my understanding of how m.2 slots are allocated on a T450s:There is one m.2 slot provided for the Intel WiFi card. There is a second m.2 slot provided for a WWAN card.If a standard HD (not an SSD) is configured, there is an option to install a 16 GB caching SSD which requires an m.2 slot. If the WWAN slot is unused, the caching SSD will be installed in that slot unless an additional option is selected requesting a 3rd free m.2 slot in which case the caching SSD should be installed in its own m.2 slot that is typically located under the battery thus leaving the WWAN slot unused (assuming no WWAN card was configured). When I configured my T450s on the Lenovo website I, of course, opted for the 3rd free slot. After the order was completed and I was provided with the configuration details, I verified that all the options I chose were included. The caching SSD was shown but there was no mention of how or where it was to be installed. Last month I purchased a new m.2 2242 SSD to install only to find I did not have a spare m.2 slot. The caching SSD is installed in the WWAN slot. I spoke with Lenovo and was told that a 3rd m.2 slot was not an option. Since the T450s can no longer be ordered or configured online, there is no way to verify this. I was able to verify that certain preconfigured T450s Thinkpads do contain a caching SSD and a WWAN card so that would sug... Read more

I wanted to buy an M910 SFF machine for a friend, and the Shop Lenovo web site claimed it was "sold out".  This was confirmed through "chat" with a Lenovo sales rep this morning.  Only the M910 Tower is available.

What??  The only other choice is M710 SFF, which I didn't want.  And no M810.  Very strange.

I ended up finding an 10MK000QUS (i.e. M910 SFF, i5-7500 3.4Ghz CPU, 1x8GB DDR4-2400 memory, 1TB 7200rpm SATA3 HDD, Win10 x64 Pro) for sale at Allstarshop.com, claiming 1-2 day shipping (so I assume/hope they actually have them in stock, and don't have to order them from Lenovo which would be impossible) at a good price of $841. So I bought it.

You'd think if the M910 SFF was so popular that it's first batch truly was "sold out", that the marketing geniuses would rush another batch out 5X as large as the first, in order to sell them too.  But NOOOO...

Hi sheilamae19 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Conditions that can cover it if you got ADP (Accidental Damage Protection) warranty included (with additional charge) on the laptop aside from the standard Limited Standard Warranty .

The limited warranty only covers functionality issue on the machine or devices therein but would not cover user induced damage .

With an ADP : WHAT?S TYPICALLY COVERED? Accidental drops, spills, bumps, and structural failures incurred under normal operating conditions or handling, including electrical surges and damage to the integrated LCD screen

You can check your warranty here.

Hope this help answer your query.

Hi All, I purchased a Lenovo G40-45 Laptop last year, which is under warranty till 16th July, 2016. It was purchased in India, however I have since relocated to Dubai, UAE. I would like to know if the warranty for this laptop is valid internationally? I recently faced a problem where the laptop would turn off arbitarily during use, and on one instance it refused to come back on again. I referred it to the local Lenovo Service Centre (Dubai, UAE) and was told that the motherboard is to be replaced. They took the laptop and invoice and kept it for over 10 days, and have now reverted saying that they are unable to obtain the required part. They claim that this model is not available in the UAE, and hence cannot be serviced here. However, a quick search of the Lenovo UAE website reveals that the model is very much available in this country: Lenovo G40 Will appreciate if someone from Lenovo can clarify on this? Happy to share additional details if required.

I have not seen an easy way to give general customer feedback to Lenovo through their website or other e-mail address and I see that chat support is offine during the weekend so I am going to post this here in hopes that a Lenovo rep will see this and feed it back to the apporiate group for review. I would think that an easy way for customers to give feedback would be good but that does not seem to be in the cards right now at Lenovo. I bought a new Lenovo 910 on 2/12/2017 from Best Buy and exactly 2 months later on 4/12/2017 I saw that the system would not charge and eventually the computer completly died. I was very lucky to have noticed that it was not charging as normal and was able to do a backup to make I sure I did not lose my data. I was definetly at risk of data loss there. I'm trying to ascertain the warranty status of my Lenovo X1 Carbon, which was purchased second hand recently here in the UK. Inputting the serial number into the online system suggests that the machine still has warranty until 28/01/2019. But since I am not the original owner, will I still be covered by this warranty? I had thought that the warranty goes with the machine, until checking over the phone earlier today, when the agent suggested that I would need the original invoice/proof of purchase to be covered by the warranty. I had not thought that this was the case, and that I did not need documentation to claim the warranty. Could someone clarify this issue for me please? I have been trying to contact Lenovo by phone again for confirmation but their system appears to be down (I just get cut off every time).

So this computer is less then a year old, bought it in august 2014.The A key fell off while I was using the computer. I was not able to reattach the key. After talking to the support at the store where I bought it, they said to send it in for repair. I did and now Medion who handle the repairs for Lenovo want me to pay for a new keyboard and labor.I have photographic evidence of the state of the computer before I send it in. Not a scratch on it. Does Lenovo not have warranty on laptop keyboards?  Is there any written document with information on how long the estimated life span of a Lenovo keyboard is? What parts of the laptop are under warranty? Thanks.

A:Lenovo Y50-70 keyboard warranty

You can read through the warranty book but I dont think it will ever mention about specific parts warranty -
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_y40-70_y40-80_y50-70_y50-80_y50-70%20touch_y...

However, your keyboard should be covered by warranty unless ofcourse there is visible proof of mishandling of the laptop.

You can call Lenovo customer sevice and talk to a supervisor. This is not the official Lenovo forum and I believe you need to talk to a Lenovo rep.

Greetings, My Lenovo Y50 (i7 4720HQ, GTX 960M, Touch Screen) just failed five days ago. It was not a result of misuse (as far as I know), mistreatment, or accidental damage. Either the RAM, the Graphics Card, or the screen is defective. The screen, suddenly, out of seemingly nowhere, started showing distorted colors. Everything white is a light tint of green, and there are red vertical slopes appearing and disappearing across the screen. The laptop is effectively done and ready to be replaced. I have had the laptop for approximately 5-6 months. Definitely less than a year. I bought it at Best Buy in the United States and know that it is covered by a 1 year manufacturer warranty. Unfortunately, the laptop broke down in the Czech republic, where I reside. Now the question is, is the Lenovo Y50 covered by International Warranty Service? I would look myself, but I do not have access to the serial number at this time. I would like to visit a Lenovo store in Prague to turn in my laptop. I know the Y50 is sold and supported in this country for sure. So if I bring it to the store, will they repair/replace it for me? Or do I have to send it all the way back to Best Buy? Or is my laptop no longer covered, since it broke in a foreign country? I also opened the back once. I didn't move or remove any of the components, only the cover. I needed to clean the air vents. No damage was caused during the cleaning. None at all. But I'm not sure if opening the back voids warra... Read more

Due to the heat "a" and "s" keys have popped out and I barely managed to get the "a" one back. Didn't have the same luck with the "s" though. I damaged the corpuss of the keyboard. I do have a warranty coverage which includes accidental drop and spill as well. The problem is I can't find the warranty card and my question is: Is it possible to get a copy of it so I can claim my warranty and have my laptop fixed? And if so what would the procedure look like? Who do I contact? The service provider here in Bulgaria won't take my laptop unless I have the warranty card. The laptop was bought from the USA. Thank you!
