Preferred Solution: Facebook login issues.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently reformatted my computer because it was having problems starting up; it wiped everything from the drive.
This morning I tried logging into my Facebook. Usually it will give me an email stating that there was a login from my normal location (Canada), but this time it said there was a login from New Zealand. Right away I changed my Facebook password and then received an email saying my password had been changed from California.

Then I looked at my recent activity of my email, and it said there was a login from Miami.

I have no clue what is going on or why all these logins are coming from different locations.

Symptoms:

-Logged out of Facebook
-Email showed an odd login location I didn't recognize

System:

-Windows 8.1
-64 bit

Anti-virus, Malware removal tools, Firewall:

-Avast
-Ran online pop-up Eset scanner
-Windows firewall

Somone I know is accursing my OH os logging into her facebook account. She has shown me a history of IP logins to her account (screenshots by email) There is one that she says is her macbook from when she visited our flat which uses firefox and then there are others on various days from the same IP address as that one but it's a computer using google chrome which is what my OH uses. I don't even understand where she got this info on her account from? I can only see my current activity in the security part, not any previous logins. Can anyone help? He obviously denies it but we can't understand what has happened here...

A:Facebook login

Windows 8.1 has something for you.
Facebook app for Windows in the Windows Store
Twitter app for Windows in the Windows Store
Unfortunately apps does not support windows 7. Even if you make a shortcut, that will still open in the browser window.

Are you trying to access facebook.com from a site where it might be blocked, such as a workplace?

Try going to Start, Run, type cmd, hit Enter, and in the black dialog box, type "ipconfig /flushdns", hit Enter, and then "ipconfig /registerdns" (without the quotation marks). Then try to access Facebook again.

I can't sign in or register with facebook, I fill in the fields etc and click ok and it just reverts back to the same page with the fields empty again. This also now happens when I try to register with 'overclockers' (a similar website to this).

I can't run Firefox that I just downloaded and Im getting errors popping up and the internet is soooo sloooow now.

I would reformat my system but I have had a new graphics card installed. I have checked my internet option etc and even reset them to no avail

Does anyone know what might cause all this?

Hello, few days ago I logged out of my facebook account on my android and when I later tried to log in it said wrong password even though it was the correct one. I tried to reset the password, but when I type in the new password and click okay, it show only a blank page and when I restart the page it says error occured. Also I don't receive the confirmation code for resetting when I try to reset it on my android. It arrives only when I do it via my computer, and I arrives on my phone number. The code won't arrive on my email. I was in Germany visiting the family at the time this has happend, maybe it has something to do with me trying to login from another country?

However, now when i try to log on it says i need to enter a phone number to loggon so it can text me a code and, believe it or not, i dont have a phone much less texting. I have looked in mutiple places to try and find a bypass for this, but so far i have had no luck. What i really want to do is skip this process all together. Can anybody help? Can't get into Facebook. When I type in www.facebook.com I get msg. "Internet Explorer is unable to display webpage." I get this message probably 100 times, then am randomly able to login, which lasts for about 5 min. until I try to post something and it freezes me out and I get the same message again. I've had facebook for at least a year and all of a sudden over the past 3 weeks or so, i've been getting this issue. I also got an Iphone for cmas and when I can't login to FB at home on my laptop, I try my phone and it also doesn't work on that either. However, when I go out, at a friends house, restaurant, starbucks, etc. I have no issues with getting it to work. This is becoming quite frustrating! I just happened to try, for the heck of it, my space, which I don't use and i'm getting the same error message!!

I read a few posts and tried to fix it myself with some of the advice you gave to those, but nothing seems to work for me. I even tried getting firefox via a link you all posted and it just times out. Can someone PLEASE help me. Don't understand why I can't access it here but can when I'm away from home??
Thanks

I haven't been able to access the facebook login page since early yesterday morning. I use Firefox, and every time I attempt to connect after a very long time it times out with this message. Unable to connect,
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.facebook.com. First I tried rebooting. Then I unplugged my modem. Then I tried logging in under IE, it wouldn't go. I even downloaded the Chrome browser, and that also didn't work. We have two computers the other runs off a Cisco router connected with a line. Our other computer also will not load the facebook login page.

Thinking it might be my router, I disconnected it. Still no luck. I ran a quick system scan with my Norton's, and that was fine, and it still didn't help. I called my ISP, Hughes Net (yes, satellite internet, bleh. All I can get here.) and spent an hour on the phone with them, with no luck. They were supposed to call me back with advanced support, but so far haven't. Every other site loads fine, it's only the facebook login page I can't get to.

The only thing I can think of that may have happened has to do with a video I attempted to watch the night before, and it was a link on a facebook post. It was a Wimp video of Jane Goodall releasing a chimpanzee that they had rescued. I'm too smart to click on the typical virus carrying links like Justin Bieber getting stabbed or something else stupid line that. Anyway, the video took forever to load, a... Read more

There are a few main problems I have with my laptop at this point that I am wondering if you guys could clear up for me. I've had a lot of unneeded programs and toolbars installed on my computer by a sibling that was trying to pirate Sound Mixing programs. This is just the start of the problem, as now after my computer was filled with junk programs, I am no longer able to log on to facebook, twitter, windows live messenger, windows live mail website, etc etc. This has just started becoming a problem in the last few days, and I have no idea what I can do to fix the problem. The problem is in Firefox, but I have just noticed that Internet Explorer does not run at all. I've run DDS and compiled a log, saved the attach.txt if you need it. RootRepeal does not run on 64bit OS's, so I couldnt get a log from that. If there is another program I can use instead, please let me know. Hello everyone,
I have a similar problem like already posted in this thread: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-facebook-login-looping.980229/
The main difference is, I'm hooked up in this loop since 3rd december 2018 and I have really no idea what to do anymore. The login-loop arrives on Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Google Chrome, and also on my iPhone in Safari and in the Facebook app. I followed the instructions on https://www.facebook.com/help/105487009541643?helpref=topq for a hundred times, always getting back to the login page where I can't login, even after setting a new password. Facebook alerady sent me E-Mails for login-help, the result is always the same. But my profile is still active, I get E-Mails with news, friend requests and inivitations. Really hope you can help me, I couldn't find any solution anywhere
Thanks a lot!

something might be wrong with your dns cache.

find and run cmd.exe, but make sure you run it as administrator.

once there, type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes). it should report that the dns was flushed successfully.

restart your computer and hope that it works; if it doesn't, then there could be a wrong entry in your hosts file.
sometimes there's a need to patch the hosts file with another one, i had the same problem recently. just take the last backup, rename it back to simply "hosts" and try to access facebook again.

Hi,

I've just got my new laptop with windows 7 64bit and installed chrome.

Tried to login to facebook and got through to the checkpoint screen. After typing in a device name and clicking save device I was taken back to the main login page. Everytime I try to login it just refreshes the login page.

I've checked the settings and cookies are allowed. If I clear the cache it works through to the checkpoint screen again then falls into the same loop.

IE works fine. The problem is just chrome which is really annoying as I much prefer using it.

I got my computer back to normal, but I haven't been able to log into Facebook since. When I try to login in I get the invalid email and/or password error message. I have tried to reset my password, but when I try to click on the link that Facebook provides I get an invalid email address error message.

Any suggestions???

Thanks

I have a facebook account that was originally set up on a PC using Windows Vista Home Basic. I then added multiple mobile devices, including blackberries, ipads, and iphones. Now the mobile devices work but I cannot log on to facebook using a PC. I have tried from multiple PCs that run on different operating systems.

Does anyone know if there is a setting that restricts facebook use to only mobile devices?

I cannot login to Facebook. My son was using my computer and logged me out. He tried logging in and it wouldn't let him so I tried to log back in and it wouldn't let me. We can both log in on other devices so it is the computer. I was just on Facebook prior to him logging me out so I don't know what happened? I reloaded Google Chrome and tried Internet Explorer w/no success and rebooted the computer several times. Please help! Thanks!

I have this problem already 4 days I cannot log in to my facebook account in my computer or any other computers it redirect to log in if I type a correct email and password.
I also tried many options to log in.
1. I try to log in on my ipad and I cannot get through.
2. I try to log in on my blackberry browser still the same it redirect to log in, but when I tried blackberry facebook App I can log in and manage to post on my facebook status but sometimes it log's out.
3. I try to rest my password but still none of those options are not working out.
4. All of those option (my computer, my ipad, & my blackberry) I can log in using other facebook account, that means none of my gadgets are not virus affected or browser problem.

Anyone can help me how can I figure out the problem of my facebook account. Thank you.

Since November 12th 08 I have been unable to login to Facebook / MSN messenger / Hotmail accounts. The 2 computers runs on XP and when trying to access the accounts the pop up on the screen says the computer is not connected to the internet ...but it is. I can access these accounts however on a third computer that runs on Vista! Does anyone have some "non technical" ideas why this is happening. It's causing chaos in the house. Thanks:

When using FB I got a page that appeared to require me to login. I didn't think much of it at first. I figured I'd accidentally logged out, or FB requires a periodic login. But afterwards I noticed the page didn't look quite right and there was a little masked bandit icon in the upper left corner. Looks like a trojan or something to me trying to get my FB password! I immediately changed my password and ran Malwarebytes, Spybot, and AVG. None of those programs found anything. But I'm sure it didn't go away on its own so I'm worried something's still lurking. How do I find it if all these programs turn up nothing?

Morning everyone,
The past several days, I have been unable to log ini to Facebook. When I log in, another page opens up showing that I need to log in. I fill that out and get another page with the same thing.
I have tried resetting the hosts, have been unable to find any solution anywhere.
After I added FB to safe sites list using the https my main page will open, however if I try to do anything I get the log in page again, again and again.
Does anyone here have a solution to suggest?
Thanks
vicks
PS: I have run Avast, Malwarebytes, super anti spyware all clean...

Hi everyone, I've been experiencing a rather strange issue sporadically for some time (as far as I can remember, at least six months). Intermittently, and very frequently in the past couple of days, when I try to log onto Facebook, I get this (screenshot):

http://imgur.com/Pp2Ny.jpg

Clearly, that is not the Facebook login page, and it tends to last for a period of hours, until the situation "resolves itself" for anywhere from a day to a few weeks. I tried Googling the issue in a number of wordings with no luck, and I can't contact Facebook support because you have to have access to the actual site to do so, and I'm basically at wit's end. I do my best to run a clean, efficient computer and I'm generally good at avoiding viruses or trojans of any sort, but I'm really at a loss as to what this might be. Thanks for any help you folk can lend.

Here's a text file of the source code, if anyone's interested:
http://phatns2pid.onestop.net/facebook.txt

A couple of footnotes: The issue occurs only on my computer (my brother is on the same router/hub as I am and Facebook doesn't do this for him), and it occurs in IE 8 as well as FF 3.5 as far as browsers go. I'm running Windows Vista 64 Bit.

i can login to facebook from IE 9

but when i try to login from chrome ........ (latest version of chrome)
facebook says that my computer is infected with virus or malware

i am die hard chrome user..... as IE is too slow compared to chrome

A:chrome and IE facebook login problem

If it is saying that then try:

Quote:
Do a full scan of your system using: Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Afterwards: Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

If nothing pops up for both of those,

try: Windows Defender Offline

This may not be the actual problem, but it is good to make sure.

So I might have done some minor things that have led to me being investigated, nothing related to computers.  But for the past few months, I have been receiving alerts from Facebook that I am logging in from an IP located in Herndon, Virginia but I live in New York State.

So, I am thinking that my ISP is Time Warner which is headquartered in Herndon, VA.

But usually my computer should log-in from the nearest local node location, not from Virginia.

Am I correct in thinking that my facebook and gmail accounts are being monitored by my ISP for law enforcement?

Would there be another reason that my Log-ins would come from another State?

A:Facebook Login says Herndon, Virginia

Quite often IP's list their owners registered location, i.e. your TWC in Herndon VA.Go here: http://www.ip-address.org/lookup/ip-locator.php in the upper right hand corner it will show you your IP. Then copy that IP and put it in the look up box. That should give you your 'local node' information not the b2b owner info you're seeing. If you're actually being investigated they aren't going to tip their hand like this. Your IP info would be spoofed and you would likely never actually know.

Normally when I go to www.facebook.com I get a video with a boy holding a fish as the main login page.  However, the past few days, it has been a different page almost each time but it looks pretty fake, at least to me.  I'm wondering if I would have a virus of some sort.  My stepdad says we have protection on the computer but I've looked around and am not 100 percent sure on that.  I don't trust anything and am very paranoid about it, so, we'll leave it at that.  I use google chrome but I checked it on internet explorer and it's doing the same thing.  It used to be that the fake looking page would only be chrome but now its ie as well.  Any suggestions?
