I'm having some big problems with Real Player/Nero 7- please help!!!

Q: I'm having some big problems with Real Player/Nero 7- please help!!!

I'm having several problems with real player and Nero 7.

1. With some of my Real Player RAM files I'm being told I need a plugin for the file, I don't know where I get ones to go with the specific file types- does anyone know?

2. If I insert a blank CD-R disc it says the disc is full! I know for a fact that there is nothing on the disc but I am being told otherwise- why? It is a trial version of nero 7 by the way.

3. Nero tells me it cannot cache the files before it burns them, why not? They are prefectly normal files?

4. When I cue several files up on to be burnt to a disc on real player it says "Will not fit on disc". I don't understand, it's a blank disc and I've checked and double checked that there's enough room. There's only a few files anyway and I'm burning them onto a data cd.

If anyone can help me with any of the above it would be hugely appreciated!

Preferred Solution: I'm having some big problems with Real Player/Nero 7- please help!!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: I'm having some big problems with Real Player/Nero 7- please help!!!

1) Real Player automatically download plugin to play the files

2) Are u sure ur puttin tat bland cd in cd-writer or dvd writer

3) dunno abt it

4) Are u tryin to burn an audio cd. If that's the case that cd can occupy only max of 22 songs(it depends on how much long are ur songs not their size)

Recently I re-installed XP(probably didn't have to, but that's another story). I finally got my internet connection back and have re-installed my audio files. When I tried to start Musicmatch, I would be prompted that currently there was no music folder. After I "clicked' yes to that, the MM music would come up for a second or 2, as would the MM logo, then everything just quit and nothing. I finally uninstalled MM and re-downloaded it. Now when I try to start it, I get nothing.

I can run my music on Win Media Player, but can't run an entire song without a prompt that Media Player has experienced a problem(of course, when you click that promt, MMP disappears). It also won't play MS format music files.

I also can't get Real One to come up - after about 5 seconds of booting up, I get a prompt that it's encountered an error.

I also can't get Quick Time to come up...I get an "error 2093 message - make sure it's installed in your system."

Again, everything ran fine before reinstalling WXP(from the D drive?). Is there some common driver or something for all these media programs that I might be missing?

Does anyone have a solution for me. Thanks.

I've been experiencing a rather odd problem with my real player recently. My player crashes every time I to load a .rm or ram. file from a web site. The normal troubleshooting hasn't worked. Failed attempts of removing all "Real" releated programs and reinstalling them have been quite frustrating. Does anyone have advice on how to alleviate the problem. Possibly a setting in the registry that is causing windows to automatically shut down real when launched. I can write back with the general fault code if that would be of any assistance.

Just did a clean install of Vista 32bit.

All working OK ... one app I use requires that I have Real Player installed.(NCH Switch for .RA conversion to MP3)

I installed lastest ver of Real Player .. and the app that required it worked OK.

However if I for example play a CD ... if I select Real Player to play it back ... sound is OK, but if I select WMP there is no audio.
The issue I have is that all other apps that give audio out (incl Vista OS sounds) do not work.

I tried working through many options ... but as soon as I de-installed Real Player all apps (and OS sounds) all OK again.

I have to have Real Player installed or Switch will not work

Hi Everyone,

I run Windows 98 on a desktop using Netscape 4.75 and I.E 5.0. I currently have had Real Player 7.0 for about 2 years with no problems. I don't know if it's a bad computer day for me or what but here is the situation.

I went to a site that uses a utility called Yahoo Media Helper, this little do-hickey checks the media players on your system and asks your Internet Connection Speed. (I have Windows Media Player 6.1, but also Real Player 7.0) I think real player is better sound quality so it asked which player I wanted to use and I clicked on Real Player 7.0.

Whenever I go to a site that uses Real Audio, I get the following error message:

"Currently, Autoupdate has no plug in to play your selection." I clicked on "more information", scrolled down to my player and it suggested that I install these little plug-in components (Only about 650 kbs...no big deal) anyway, I did that and I still get the same message about the plug in issue. I tried just opening Real Player also, and going to one of the "pre-set radio stations that they give you." Sometimes I get the message about the "Autoupdate has no plug in to play your selection" but just now I get "Connection to server could not be established, you may be exeriencing network problems" I don't know if this is a server issue or a Real Player issue.

On more thing, if I click on "Help" in Real Player 7.0, and then "contents", the help... Read more

When I tried to play a video stream earlier, I got an error message about a missing file in my Temp Internet files. An attempt at playing an audio stream got the same response. I tried to uninstall Real Player, but for some reason that didn't work, as I got an error message about missing an uninstaller component. When I tried to reinstall it, that wouldn't work either, as when it had to uninstall Real Player, the aforemention uninstaller component error occured. I tried redownloading the latest version of Real Player, but the same error occured, and when it did install, my attempts to play streams cause AOL to crash, and it won't play regular RP files at all.

Any pros on using Real Player and Real Player library?
I've got questions on Real Player and it's library.
1. When I play a video in my library, as soon as the video is over, it starts over, with no time to move to another one or "pause" should I be trying to burn that video.
2. I'm finding problems with the volume control. When the video starts, if I have the volume adjustment all the way to the right, maximum volume, I can move it back to the left maybe 25% of the way toward "minimum" and back to the right to maximum and this increases the volume of the video as it begins to play. If I leave the volume control on maximum then the video will play at a slightly lower volume, then if I quickly move the adjustment to the left a little and back to max. This is an issue both on wanting to listen to the videos and for burning. I do not need to spend the first 1-2 seconds of each video making volume adjustments.
3. How to move videos around on the list. Do they drag to create the desired order?
4. These are flash videos. How would I move these videos to my desktop or where ever so the format can be changed from flash to something else?
5. How to delete a video from the list.
6. Even when I am on a site like www.espn.com and there is a 20 second commercial playing, there is always an option to let Real Player download the video of the commercial. I find this option on all videos regardless of website. Who has given Real Player the right to offer t... Read more

Windows MEdia Player seems to me to be programmed to seek out any and all other media players (ie. Real Player 7), and mess them up big time. I have a 465 Kb .mpg file. It used to play on Real player BEFORE i put Direct X 7a in. Now, it plays 2.4 seconds of the mpg and quits. I used to play all my mp3 files via Windows Media Player. Those were the good ol' Napster days. Then came Bearshare, for which I downloaded Real Player Basic, and since then it seems, I can't get any audio out of Windows Media Player anymore. It seems to be doing its job and all that happy stuff, you know: opening media libraries, playing mp3 files... only: no audio. Real Player's doing fine, but even my old Napster mp3 files from Napster - heck, even the Bearshare files that work with Real Player! - get zero audio when played in Windows Media. So I figured it's some sort of conflict, you know? That stuff happens. So being the resourceful guy that I am, I tried uninstalling Real Player, (Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs...) but you know what? It's not working. I get a pop up window ("Are you absolutely SURE you wanna lose all yer Real Player stuff? Yes/No" I do "Yes", I get another pop up job ("Uninstalling Real Player") but that's it. You know the blue horizontal bar you get that informs you of how far into the process you are? It doesn't even show up. At this point, nothing goes further. Ctrl/Alt/Delete tells me "Uninstalling Real Player Not Responding". It does that every time. What I want to do is be able to use Windows Media Player again, because I find it more practical than Real Player, only it serves me diddly to have an application running that won't give me the audio it&#... A:real player or window media player?

Real Player (aka Real Obnoxious) is not the same as Windows Media Player. There are certain files that will only play on Real Player and certain Files that will only play on Windows Media Player.

If you are going to install Real Player I suggest that you print out the instructions here;

refer to the instructions when installing Real Player. Although these instructions are not for the current Real Player version there is still enough in the instructions as what to disable, to keep Real Player usable, but stop it from bugging you all the time.

If real player and windows media player do the same thing which one is better?

A:Real Player Or Window Media Player

RealPlayer can play most of the formats that WMP can, plus some of it's own (ie formats created by the RealPlayer developer) which WMP can't play.

However, although RealPlayer plays more formats and you need it for some websites which stream audi/video content only in RealPlayer's native formats, It can be somewhat of annoyance when it's installed -- always popping up nag-screens to buy the 'pro' version etc. Something which WMP never does.

In essence, if you want all video and audio formats covered, you need them both. My policy is to manage with Windows Media Player. I just avoid using websites with video/audio content that need RealPlayer.

Hi, I listen to music all the time on my computer (its running windows xp professional).

Today, I put in a cd and I get no sound from the speakers. Everything in mediaplayer looks like the disc is playing. Likewaise, when I open a wav or mp3 file, i get no audio. I also tried the real ob eplayer, and that had the same issue. I do get audio from speakers when I test a system sound.

I clicked on the audio icon and everything is unchecked.

any ideas?

A:No sound from media player or real one player

First, check that your speakers are correctly plugged into the back of your computer and that the power is connected to them, then check to see that your drivers are still installed by going into control panel > Sounds and multimedia, tell me what happens,.

Hi, I installed the "Nero 7 Essentials" program that came with my HP internal DVD drive. When using the Nero Player, the DVD's play in a choppy manner. So I tried to use Win Media Player 11 but the audio on the DVD doesn't play. CD's play on Win Media, though. I emailed Nero Customer Support but haven't heard from them yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Recently VLC, SM and Real player have been running at 100% whenever I play a video in them. This causes the video to stutter and become virtually unwatchable. I've done a scan with AVG free, aswell as Spybot S&D, Adaware and some Malware detector software. All have come up clean, but the problem remains. I have tried reinstalling the software, but it makes no difference. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing this?

My computer is Windows XP, SP2.

Thanks in advance

I had some questions I wanted to ask Real Player support, but am not able to access the Help or Report a Problem sections from within the player. The player plays fine and I am registered. Anyone else having problems with Help?

How can I select Real Player as my default program? I much prefer this over Windows Media. Sometimes Windows Media comes into play and I'd rather use Real Player.

Welcome to TSG Kcop!

Sometimes the designer of the site will specify that it will use the WMP rather than RP. In that case there isn't much you can do about it.

If you have a program that will play on either and you want RP to be your default, then:

Left click on the file once
Press and hold the SHIFT key while right-clicking on it.

Select "Open With" from the list.
Select Real Player from the list.
Check the little box that says "always use this program" when opeing this type of file.
Good luck!
