Battery for HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook 15-ak000nx

Q: Battery for HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook 15-ak000nx

Good day! I would like to ask if somebody here knows the compatible battery for HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook. My battery only runs less than 4 hours now. I want to upgrade the battery to a bigger capacity battery. Also, does anybody here know if there is a compatible dock for the geming notebook? I am always plugging my laptop when playing games. And as far as I know, plugging the laptop consistently for a long time will damage the battery. Thank you!J

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello,I am having trouble correctly installing Ubuntu 16.10 on my HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook, in multiboot with the preinstalled WIndows 10. At first i encountered the problem described here. I applied the workaround suggested there (adding the pci=noaer parameter to the kernel), and the error messages stopped. I don't think Ubuntu is correctly installed, though: for example, i can't get the wifi to work. Also, it didn't seem to correctly install the proprietary drivers, which need to have SecureBoot disabled. I did disable it, but no proprietary driver was installed... Did anybody manage to install it correctly?  Thanks in advance!

No it is set up to take DDR3 memory. DDR4 memory is a physically different product and will not fit in the same slot that holds DDR3 memory.  You need 2 of these: 8-GB (DDR3L-1600) 693374-005 Your Manual See p. 39-47. Hi, There are few things I would like to say: 1. The machine does not have VGA port. It has ? 2 SuperSpeed USB 3.0? 1 Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0? 1 HDMI? 1 RJ-45 (LAN)? 1 Headphone-out/microphone-in combo jack That HDMI port is for you to connect to an external BIGger monitor for you to enjoy games if you wish. 2. Not true, I connect to external monitors nearly all my laptops . Playing games on a laptop can always cause "overheating", no matter what. Regards.

Hello, guys. I got this laptop since March 2016. I have been using it daily ever since (around 12 hours a day with ~6 hours of it spent gaming). I have had this problem for about a month now. It got worse just this week. Said issues just started manifesting about a month ago. The problems evolved like this:> The issue started with a sudden shutdown while I was gaming. No warnings, no "low battery" notifications, no "shutting down" screen, nothing. It just shut off suddenly. I thought maybe i just missed the notification but shouldnt the laptop display the "shutting down" screen when the battery reaches critical level? (I set the laptop to shut down on critical battery level).  > Since then, the battery would never fully charge. It would say something like, "02 mins to full charge", but no matter how long I waited, it would never fully charge. The highest charge it held was around 95%. > I tried changing battery settings in the advanced power options. I set the low battery level to 50% with notifications on and the "do nothing" action. Hello, Since a couple weeks ago, I have noticed my laptop battery capacity has been significantly lower than before. Without charging, the laptop lasts about 1 hour while it used be around 3 hours. I was thinking about to purchase a new battery in case my current suddenly won't be usable anymore. I have searched for a couple of laptop batteries on the internet to find that all of them were either not similar to mine or had different capacities. At the moment I don't know what to buy, I am not planning on replacing my laptop for at least another year and I'm afraid the battery won't last that long. My laptop is an HP Pavilion 17-f040nd and uses the battery that came through the shipment. The battery and laptop are both 2 years old and have been used almost every day. The battery has a voltage of 14,8V and a capacity of 2700 mAp. It'd be nice if someone could tell what battery I should buy to ensure replacement for my current one. Regards,Mats.

Hello, Two weeks after my one year warranty was up my laptop started shutting off when the battery was around 30-40%.  I checked the battery using the HP Support Assistant Diagnostic Check and it continues to say the "Primary battery is OK."  I've also noticed that since this started happening the battery won't fully charge.  It only charges to 90-94% then shows "94% available (plugged in, not charging)."  I used to unplug the battery until the battery saver (set at 20%) would turn on then I'd fully charge it and repeat.   I use my laptop for work so I'm usually plugged in 8-14 hours a day for five days a week.  I shut it off every night as well.  Am I missing something or is this the battery life I should get?  Did I use it too much?  I purposefully got a long life battery because for work. I found the article below which sounds similar to my situation and wanted to ask anyway. https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-15-notebook-sudden... This is my first HP and I didn't have battery issues like this with any previous laptop doing the same amount of work/usage for at least 2+ years.  Is this the way HP's are?  Am I supposed to expect this type of performance out of my laptop? Thanks for any help/suggestions/words of wisdom.

Hi, just want to share this problem & solution with others. My laptop will not boot up, without the battery inserted. When I press the power button without the battery, the power light is "on", the screen looked powered up, but it's always black. It will not load Windows or anything. After I inserted the battery, it worked. Reading from the other posts, I think it might be due to static.  What happened to me was:- I have the habit of storing the laptop without its battery, to conserve battery power.- I stored my laptop (without battery) inside an Ikea PS metal cabinet.- On top of the metal cabinet is a Samsung LED TV, I watched for like 2 hours.- I think static was created & it static charged the laptop. The solution is (from other post) unplug the cord & battery, then press the power button of the laptop for maybe 20 secs. This discharges the static. Plug the power cord back (still leaving the battery out) & press the power button of the latop, it should boot up.

I bought my hp Pavilion notebook in India. Now I live in the UK. For the last month or so, I've problems with my laptop. Whenever the laptop is on battery, it discharges very quickly. It randomly shuts off (not shut down, just shuts off with a gut wrenching clink of the hard disk) anytime below 50% charge. no notification of low battery or going into hibernation. It may happen in the middle of typing a sentence, or browsing. I ran diagnostics. HP battery check software first showed a "weak battery" result. I was about to order a new battery, when I ran the software again, which now says "primary battery OK". It is very confusing, as even if we agree that the battery has developed a problem, I can't understand why the system is not detecting low battery or putting the computer to hibernate, as per the settings. I've checked drivers - updated. The laptop is just one year and 3-4 months old. Should I replace the battery? Or is it a software error from the new windows 10 upgrade?Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a problem with my HP Pavilion notebook, the notebook is not used frequently and it's just out of warranty. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 and I am not sure if that has caused the problem, may be just a coincidence?
The problem is that the battery is on 0% charge and displaying, "0% available plugged in not charging."

Because the battery is on 0%, could this be the problem? I read somewhere that if the battery goes completely flat it will not take a charge from the notebook charging system, is this correct? Or any other ideas would be appreciated to get it working again.

First off, I will say that the main battery I am using is not an HP OEM battery, however, it has been verfied to work and charge correctly in another family member's dv6 notebook.  Furthermore, I have access to an HP OEM battery, from a family member's dv6, with which I have confirmed the same issue.  FYI: I replaced my OEM battery about a year ago with an aftermarket battery when my OEM battery stopped holding a charge.  This happened after before my laptop was 2 years old.

So, here's a description of the problem.  About a month ago, even though my laptop was plugged in to the AC adapter, the battery stopped charging.  The laptop continued to work until the battery completely ran out of charge.  Once that happened, the laptop shut down, DESPITE still being connected to the AC adapter.  At this point, as long as the battery was installed in my laptop, with the AC adapter still connected, it would not power up.  The only way I could get it to power up was to remove the battery.  Then, it would boot up just fine, but of course, I was now tethered via the AC cord, turning my laptop into a "thin and light desktop".  If I attempted to put the battery back while the computer was on, connected to the AC adapter, it would shut down IMMEDIATELY.  I took ... Okay, so the type of battery you have is designed to last approximately 1 year (see link below) it has lots of links to other useful docs too.http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00596784 HP & other companies do sell Long life batteries but they cost more.We would ask you to put the unit in our unit and run Battery check which is inside HP Support Assistant, make sure you have the latest version, same for your BIOS Version. You will see there are bunch of tips on how to make your battery last longer, but you really need to start doing them from the start, if your battery is already 1 year old there is a good chance it is low enough on it's capacity to require you buying a new one.You should check out our site, they often have sales, and Batteries would be under accessories.Check out other sites too, compare. Good luck.

Today I purchased a brand-new HP Pavilion 15-N214TX notebook. When I got home, I unboxed it, inserted the battery, plugged it into the wall, and powered it on for the very first time. I then saw this message:

HP Battery Alert
The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low.
For optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.
Primary (internal) Battery (601)
ENTER - Continue Startup
For more information, please visit: www.hp.com\go\techcenter\startup

Windows reports, Plugged in and not charging.

I've removed and re-inserted the battery, gone into the HP Support Assistant application and ran a battery check (only for it to report that it can't find a battery!), and I've ran the pre-boot diagnostics, which also reports that there's no battery inserted. I saw somewhere that you should remove AC power before running the tests. When I pressed the power button while the laptop wasn't plugged into AC, the charging light simply blinked white three times. I could at one point get into the pre-boot diagnostics on battery power, but I still saw the message telling me that no battery was found.

This is a great laptop, it's super fast, software installs quickly, programs open quickly, it shuts down and boots quickly, but this battery issue is a huge letdown. I don't expect this kind of an issue from a brand-new ~$1100 laptop.

Please help!

Hello, For 2-3 weeks my laptop has been turning off with 30-50% battery left.  As soon as it is plugged in, I have no problems. While attempting to turn the computer back on (before I plug it in) the computer usually shuts down before I get to the login screen.  On a few occasions, however, I have succesfully logged in and started my web browser before it shuts down again.  Every time that my computer dips into this margin, it kills all proccesses (unexpected shutdown).  I have tried different power options, but they just delay how long the battery stays above 30-50%. I do not know of any other details.    Thanks for readingIsenfireLDC

I have a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC (Product Number F6C70PA#ABG), and since I have upgraded to Windows 10 (current version 10.0.14393) last year I have had nothing but trouble with it. 1) First, when I use the shutdown option in the power menu, the notebook will not turn off; the screen goes black but the fans continue to run, and the Wireless Antenna light goes orange but does not turn off. The power button in the top left also stays lit. The only way to turn the device off properly is to hold the power button down for 5 seconds. 2) But even when I turn the power off by holding down the power button, I have recently discovered that the notebook is still draining power. If it is turned off, and the AC power removed, the battery is completely drained when I next come to try and turn it on. This is despite the fans not running while the power is turned off in this fashion. 3) Also recently, when booted up the notebook takes an excessively long time. After approximately 2-3 minutes from power off, the notebook will display the coastal scene. I press the up key or click my mouse to bring up the login box, but the login box takes another 2-3 minutes to appear. After inputting my password, it takes approximately another 2-3 minutes to finish booting the desktop.  I note that, in an attempt to follow other tech support advice to allow the notebook to shutdown properly (to solve problem 1 above), I have previously turned off the fast boot option.  However, it... You can also use your HP Diagnostic Tools to check the battery. Under Component Test there is a Battery Test.  Try that battery test to see if it is seeing it correctly. Thank you,

The sound on my notebook works fine until I connect it via HDMI to an HP Pavilion 24xw monitor.  Then the audio disappears.  If I disconnect it, the audio comes back. I have tried going to the 'Sound' section of the control panel.  There are two options:Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio HP 24xwThe default is Speakers Realtek.  When I use the test facility my notebook plays the test sound.  I have updated to the latest version of the driver. Can someone help with why when plugging in the monitor the audio disappears from my notebook? Thank you so much!

My wife has a two-year-old Samsung notebook. Recently when she unplugged it the machine cut off, even though the battery said 79% charged (it wouldn't charge any further). I figured that the battery was bad so I bought another one from Amazon.

This one charges to 100% percent and does exactly the same thing. I'm perplexed but think there's something going on with the motherboard that won't let it use battery juice, even if Windows 8.1 says it's 100% charged.

I've tried the hold the power button down for 1 min with the battery out trick to no avail.

Any ideas? I'm stumped and think I might need to get her another notebook.

Thanks, Robert

The last few days I've been getting a message on start up on my laptop that my internal battery was weak.   The diagnostics I ran confirmed this.  I saw the HP replacement battery wasn't reviewed very well on the HP web site so I purchased a Duracell replacement battery.  It appears to be working well, except now I no longer have a battery icon in my lower tray so I have no idea what my battery level is.  When it gets low, it gives me no warning and just shuts the laptop down.  It also doesn't indicate when I am using my power cord.  Is there anything I can do to change this?

I'm currently saving up to buy moiself a gaming notebook. My budget will be about $1600ish and I should be at that goal in May. I'm really excited as this will be the first notebook I've ever bought. One of my jobs I work third shift 3 nights a week as a hotel desk clerk. This can be a very quiet shift and being able to play games, watch media, and surf the interwebs will definitely make the nights pass faster.

I've been bouncing around the net doing research and this price point should get me a pretty decent system: 17" screen, 8-12 gb ram, SSD hd, 500-750gb SATA hd, Core i5-i7, vid card w/2 gb ram, DVD drive, wifi, Win OS. One thing I don't care about is battery life as I will only use this at the hotel where I can plug it in while in use.

I'm not an experienced gamer and haven't had a notebook in years, so I have a few questions: Will this system handle most of the current games out there and should it be good for the next few years at least? I don't need it to necessarily play the latest and greatest at the highest resolution but I do want to be able to have a good choice of material to play for the next few years before I have to start considering upgrading. I'm mainly interested in FPS games.

Anyone have experience with Powernotebooks.com? They let you customize the system and the prices seem decent, with free shipping. Any other sites I should check that have good reputations, good prices, and that let you customize?... Read more

Hey, I was doing some shopping for a nice gaming laptop and I ran across the Alienware: Area 51 m5550. It was cheap at $999, but that was before I realized that It came with the bare minimum. They give you the option to customize it, but I'm not sure what is necessary to play games well (Fable, Black & White 2, etc.). Can someone please help me with the specifications or just point me into the direction of a whole new notebook that is good, but cheap. Here is the link to it...

I'm not really sure how graphics intensive Fable, Black and White, and your other games are, but if you want to run more current games, this is what you will NEED:

Processor: The base T5500 is already pretty good. If you would like a higher clock speed, go for the T7200, but anything after that is just a waste of money.

OS: I recommend XP Pro, but it is more preference than anything.

Display: I am a huge fan of the UXGA. But if you are on a tight budget, it isn't necessary. The $100 to upgrade it is money very well spent, and even after market upgrades for a UXGA screen are terribly expensive (easily $200-$300).

Memory: BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER. Do yourself a favor and head on down to newegg.com and pick up a 2x1GB DDR2-667MHz 200-pin ram kit. They run about $70+ these days. And it will take about 10-20 minutes to install. Maybe less if you are experienced.

Hard Drive: Completely up to you. The HD speeds will only affect loading times, and will not add performance to your gaming, so 5,400RPM hard drive should be sufficient. The difference between a 5,400 and a 7,200 is noticeable, but not that noticeable.

Graphics Card: GeForce Go 7600, hands down. You will not be able to game comfortably with an ATI x1400. The x1400 is bottom of the line, low performance card. The 7600 is atleast a mid-ranged card.

Hope this helps!

I am currently looking for a cheap gaming laptop. It would be mainly used to play WOW and Starcraft II. I don't necessary need something super compact, as long as it's easier to transport than a full desktop tower + screen, because I often go to LAN parties.

From what I have seen, new gaming laptop aren't cheap. I recently found a used one on Ebay, so I am wondering if it's worth it or if you have any other suggestions.

Here is the link so you can check out the specs:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Dell-XPS-M17...00325787?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item27d069e69b.

It seems all I would need to do is to replace the video card. There is a 8800 GTX SLI on Ebay for less than $200, so I am thinking that for less than $500 I could get a decent gaming notebook, do you think it's a good idea ? I have never installed a video card in a notebook before but I know how to install one in a desktop so I'm guessing it should not be that difficult. Any advices? Thank you!

A:Need advice for gaming notebook

I don't think I could do that. Too much of a gamble.

You'd also need a new battery, the screen has issues that can't be fixed, and a couple of 'should be ok' comments in there too.

That's my two yen.

I am going to be heading off to Africa in about 6 months from now, and I am going to stay there for a while. Anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. I will be in the middle of the African Savannah, and between woeking and sleeping I will not have a lot to do.

After dark it is really not recommended to go outside so I will need a decent gaming laptop that will be able to play games easily, and preferably play games that will come out in one years time. (High hopes for my price range, I know, lol)

So if anyone knows anything about gaming laptops, please help me out. I know I'm not likely to get anything under a $1000 (Australian Dollars, not American) But I really do not want to go over$1500 or at the worst $2000. Also, Newegg doesn't ship to Aus, neither does TigerDirect.

I have an 8800GT and Q6600 in my desktop at the moment, what sort of GPU would I need in a laptop to get similar or better performance when playing games?

Is there a chart that someone knows of that shows a rough relation between desktop and mobile GPU power or benchmarks?

Any information would be helpful, and I would appreciate it very muc.

Thanks in advance.

G'day peeps and creeps, i have the pavilion dv6 with 1 terabyte hd and bluray disc player, a few months ago i foolishly upgraded from windows 7 to windows crap so a week ago i reinstalled to windows 7 and that went well, except i was having really bad heating issues so i took it apart and cleanded the fan and reapplied new thermal paste and that went well except for one thing, i now get an error message about an unknown usb device so i went into the device system list and sure enough it says usb unkown device, so i tried all the usb port and they worked fine and the usb content came up and i could access and add or delete at will in all 4 of them so i checked the drivers for them and they are up to date aswell so i am at a loss right now about that but i just now discvered a new problem, my disc drive wont acknowlege blurays, i watched a bluray the other day and that was fine then last night i watched a standard dvd and that was fine but when i got home this afternoon i went to watch a bluray and all it did was make a bunch of noise and wouldnt do jack so i took it out and tried again, same thing so i put in a dvd and that worked perfectly like normal so i took that out and tried the bluray disc again and just more noise and nothing else, i really like this puter so i am hoping that its not stuffed too bad but i am at a loss about these two issues, especially the bluray one so any help would be greatly appreciated and sorely needed.please help.

My stepson has an HP Pavilion dv1000 notebook. The power supply gets extremely hot and seems to be melting the tip to the plug where it connects to the notebook. Does this seem to be a problem with the notebook or only with the power supply. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

A:HP Pavilion notebook

wow that is pretty hot... does it always run that hot, or does it only run that hot when he's gaming, or watching a movie? could just be a demanding laptop, but then again you could take it to a PC specialist (comp usa or local computer shop) and get the powersupply checked out. dang if it's melting the tip thats pretty hot... My dad's apple powerbook gets up to 75 degrees celcius when he's just surfing the web and stuff, so hot you have to take it off your legs if you don't want to burn yourself. so get it checked out, might just be a demanding laptop.
