'Windows32 Properties' window pops up after startup (deleted!?)

Q: 'Windows32 Properties' window pops up after startup (deleted!?)

Hi guys.

I posted this on the 'Software and Hardware' forum, but got told to try here.

This evening I went onto my Windows Vista laptop just to browse the internet when I noticed this message pop up straight after I had booted up:

I saw that it had been deleted and I have no idea why. Now, I'm not an expert at computers but I knew this wasn't good, so I clicked 'restore' and I never saw it again. However I restarted and noticed it again, but I didn't click 'restore' this time, and as I went to download a file it wouldn't download (something along the lines of: .exe couldn't be downloaded... please contact administrator)

I don't think it can be serious because as soon as I 'restore' it everything's back to normal, but it is really annoying that after every statup this pops up. Please can you help me rectify this and allow me to have a stressless time whilst browing on my laptop.

Thanks in advance.

Preferred Solution: 'Windows32 Properties' window pops up after startup (deleted!?)

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Warning window pops up at startup.

This window pops up on my laptop each time I startup.

Is there a way to fix this.

A:Solved: Warning window pops up at startup.

Hmmm, try Start>Run>type msconfig and press OK, under the startup tab, look for this file, maybe it's loading at startup and shouldn't be - you can then uncheck it and test it!

Do you use ICS? if not I would just remove the startup entry. If you need the OCS service running you will need to be enabled in "control Panel" - Administrative tools" - "Services". It would appear that the service has been disabled and a batch file is asking it to start. Please can you post screenshots of the startup section in msconfig (just type "msconfig" into the start menu).

A:Keep Getting Ise32 Properties Window On Startup

It's not unusual to receive such an error after using tools to remove malware infection.A "Cannot find...", "Could not run...", "Error loading... or "specific module could not be found" message is usually related to malware that was set to run at startup but has been deleted. Windows is trying to load this file but cannot locate it since the file was mostly likely removed during an anti-virus or anti-malware scan. However, an associated orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot up. Since the file no longer exists, Windows will display an error message. You need to remove this registry entry so Windows stops searching for the file when it loads. To resolve this, download Autoruns, search for the related entry and then delete it.Create a new folder on your hard drive called AutoRuns (C:\AutoRuns) and extract (unzip) the file there. (click here if you're not sure how to do this.)Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.Please be patient as it scans and populates the entries. When done scanning, it will say Ready at the bottom.Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file(s) in the error message.Right-click on the entry and choose delete.Reboot your computer and see if the startup error returns.IMPORTANT NOTE: ise32.exe is related to the family of worms and IRC backdoor Trojans. Hi,
This problem has been occurring for a while. A few minutes after windows starts, a small internet explorer window suddenly pops up for a few seconds and then automatically disappears. The window displays nothing more than "Internet explorer cannot display the page." It is as if this is some kind of adware that comes up everytime windows starts except that no ads show up as I have an adblocker HOSTS file. I would really like to get rid of this issue. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't remember how long ago I submitted this problem, but it does not appear to have been addressed (or if it has I cant find the reply) I still have field within the properties box which do not have corresponding columns within the Explorer window.
I seems to me to be a real case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing as whoever designed these two items didn't exchange details. This was my original query "
Using Windows 10 / .wma & .wmv "properties" fields / Folder and file display columns. There are two fields in the properties

Hello,
When using MS Outlook or firing up IE, the "Windows Installer" window briefly pops up, sometimes flickering (as if multiple closings and openings are occuring), stating "Preparing to install ... ". Then the box goes away.

From what I can tell, nothing has installed.

In MS Outlook, this behavior always occurs when I am opening an email. In IE it only happens when I fire up Internet Explorer.

The only thing that has changed on my system prior to noticing this behavior is that I have installed the most recent versions of BlackBerry Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Device Mananger.

Thank You In Advance

A:Window Installer window briefly pops up

Hi Machine13705

It's possible that the blackberry installations tweaked a Registry setting, or didn't complete their installations elegantly.

I'd probably try the blackberry installation again as a first try. Then try running a Registry Cleaner such as CCleaner (in case loose ends are causing trouble --- http://www.download.com/CCleaner/300...ml?tag=lst-0-1 --- the "Issues" section of CCleaner is the one that helps clear up Registry oddballs).

If that doesn't help, for the Outlook behavior you can try Microsoft's suggested repair (in case it's the tweaked-Office Registry setting --- their quick-fix is a "Language version tool" that you can download and try, and they have two other possible repairs as well) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265194

And, since you are running Windows XP -- you can always try the System Restore tool, using a restore point from just before you first installed the blackberry updates & the trouble started. You might have to reinstall the blackberry update again after this (but you might not! - it depends on where the settings are that were changed).

Last -- anytime you have unusual behavior from your system, it's a good idea to run some malware scans. Use the "thorough" or "High" settings.

Best of luck

Hi, thadiiva.

Welcome to TSG.

Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Hey all,

I'm on Windows XP SP2 and I use Outlook 2003 for both my university e-mail and Gmail.

I usually leave Outlook running in the system tray and have it set to check my mail every X minutes and pop up the notification icon in my system tray whenever I have new mail.

The problem is that sometimes I'll get a new e-mail notification and go to my inbox only to find a piece of SPAM which has already been deleted by Outlook; it just sits there with a line through as though I deleted it myself. Unfortunately, the icon in the system tray remains until I right-click either of my inboxes and select "Mark all as read."

Does anyone know why it does this? Why does it recognize mail that's been deleted as new and then notify me about it? Thanks for any help

I'm running Windows Vista 64 with IE 8 installed. Pop-up blocker is turned on, AVG is installed and constantly running. When I run IE8, occasionally, a second window will pop filling the full diplay with an advertisement. I had the same issue when I had Symantec installed. Usually, the advertisement has some relation with the web site that am on, but not all of the time. It ALWAYS fills the whole screen, not like most adds that pop up with a small window.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Okay guys here is the problem. Microsoft Office 2007 Beta had expired and I couldn't find and uninstaller. So what I did was is manually delete anything in the register that had "office" in it. (yes, i know, a stupid move) Well when i tried to install my new Office Enterprise 2007 it wouldn't let me because there were more files left over.

So I went and used

PHP:

msiexec.exe /x C:\WINDOWS\Installer\(msi name).msi NOREMOVESPAWN=1

and deleted every single Microsoft Office 2007 beta. Well, there was also my old Microsoft Office XP's MSI which couldn't be removed. (the error said that it couldnt find the batch file or something like that; i didn't really care) So i then went to install my Enterprise Edition and walla it worked! But that is not the problem...

Another option would be to install Process Monitor. This will create a log of evrything that runs on your computer. When you see the cmd window launch you can then look at Process Monitor to see what launched it.

Hope someone can help on this one as it has me completely at a loss, and pretty peed off!!!

ALL my JPG files, every photo on my hard-drive including 7years of birth to 7 year old have lost the Camera Information from the Properties file of every photo. In other words, no record of when the photo was taken. There are thousands of photos, so I did have them sorted by date for easy viewing, and I really don't want to manually re-enter the Photo Taken Date field!!!!

Any ideas?

Only recent changes to my computer and the installation of Trend Micro Internet Security and I've used Ccleaner to clean out rubbish.

Thanks in advance.

A:JPG Properties - Picture Date Deleted

In Windows Explorer or My Computer, View > “Choose Details”. Make sure “Date Created” is checked. Then View > Details to see if the dates are there.

If they aren’t the only thing I might suggest is to deactivate your security software to make sure it isn’t somehow interfering. I doubt that it would but you might as well try everything.

I’ve very much limited CCleaner’s scope in the few times I’ve used it, but a friend on suggestion from another friend ran it with everything checked and it didn’t interfere with his photo dates. I doubt that is what caused the problem.

A:System32 Window Pops Up Frequently

Hi FullRange311, Welcome to TSG!!

That's quite a collection

First thing to do is make a folder on your hard drive, like My Documents\hjt. Move hijackthis.exe into that folder, don't run it from a temporary folder.

Start by going here: http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html and follow PROCEDURE 4 to remove new.net.

Go into add/remove programs and remove WeatherBug and as many of those toolbars as you can.

Download Spybot http://www.spybot.us/spybotsd13.exe

Click on "Search For updates" when prompted.

Scan, click on fix problems.

Reboot.

Download AdAware SE Personal: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the bottom right-hand corner of the main window click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

Then, in the main window: Click Start and under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.

Then, deselect Search for negligible risk entries.

To start the scan, click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and then click Next)

Restart your computer and post another HJT log for review.

At boot...this window pops up warning me that they have detected a third party uninstalled n-Case, and gives me options to reinstall, uninstall, or do nothing. What is this? I, once again researched this...but, don't know actually what it means. What program uses this? and How did this happen? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....

Everytime I enter a new URL into the address bar it pops up in a new window. How can I get it to just go to the URL in the window that's already open?

Are you using IE? If so, go to tools -> internet options -> where it says "tabs", click "settings". make sure that those settings aren't causing the problem, if you aren't sure, click "Reset to defaults".

Hi All,

I am running Windows Vista Home edition and have Mozilla and Windows IE 8.0 installed. Whenever I start up the computer and turn on Mozilla, after a few minutes IE opens a window saying that it is unable to open the window "Favorit". It doesn't conect to the internet, even though it should be able to. This happened before and after I installed IE 8. Any ideas?

Thanks,

SteveG297
