HP Pavilion dv7 3133er - what wifi card is compatible?

Q: HP Pavilion dv7 3133er - what wifi card is compatible?

Hi,I've got a HP Pavilion dv7 3133er, part WA005EA#ACB, and it's wi-fi card is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000, and it work only b&g wi-fi, not -n. Do you know which of the listed cards (in the manual) will work with my notebook? Best regards

Preferred Solution: HP Pavilion dv7 3133er - what wifi card is compatible?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi: This would be the service manual for your notebook. It only lists the quad core processors though... Most of the information should be the same for your model unless you need to replace the motherboard. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01859666

Hi: See the Maintenance and Service Guide on your notebook's support page for the supported wireless cards, chapter 3, page 24. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-g6-2200-Notebook-PC-series/5296082/model/5317012/man... It looks like you would need to replace the current card with one of the same, because that is the best card offered for that model.  It is the only one offered with bluetooth.

can the flex 2 14 inch wifi card be user upgraded to 802.11AC compatible wifi card, and if so could you tell me the compatible part?  is it dual band? Thanks in advance, that is the thing holding me from making a purchase before the April 1st deadline of current sale.

A:can Flex 2 14 wifi card be upgraded to AC compatible card?

Three years late.  The answer is "Yes!" The Lenovo Flex 2 14/15 can be upgraded with a compatible wireless-AC card. The card detailed below can be installed successfully in the Flex 2-14 and it's pretty much a plug-n-play device under Windows 10. Drivers are installed automagically so that the 2GHz and 5GHz wireless and Bluetooth can be accessed. I have two Lenovo Flex 2 laptops each running this exact wireless card. Make sure the wireless card you install matches the details listed below. Or else you'll get an "incompatible wireless module detected" error message when you try to boot the laptop. Name: Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 3160Model: 3160NGWFCC ID: PD93160NGUTA: H45043-003FRU: 04X6076EC: 770009 A genuine "Lenovo branded" Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 3160 wireless card can be purchased from: http://us.eetgroup.com/i/04X6076-Lenovo-Wireless-Module I've attached a picture of the correct wireless card.

Hi, I've recently purchased a HP Pavilion p6-2018uk which I've upgraded with extra memory (8GB) and a 500W PSU. I'd like to upgrade to an external Grapihcs Card, but I'm having issues which I think from what I've read is to do with the BIOS. My motherboard is a Foxconn H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX (Cupertino2). Other relevert  specs:Intel Core i3 2120BIOS 7.16 (Latest) - Using Legacy Mode, not the UEFI (Many card these days require BIOS v8) I have two graphics cards, but neither work. The Frist is a new Nvidia Geforce GT 710 (1GB) - Passive Cooled - this will only work if you do the trick of waiting for the BIOS message to appear on screen and wait for the two beeps a minute apart then press the Escape key. This then allows you to boot to windows and install a driver for it. But this is a pain as you have to do this every time you switch on the machine even when the driver is installed. Next up I have a used Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 ti (1GB) - with fan - this allows me to boot to Windows directly, but there is no response on the monitor, no signal. The cards fan turns (I've the extra power lead connected by the way for the card). As this is a used card I can't confirm it works, and I don't have means to test it on another box. I've tried several suggestions, such as disabeling the onboard graphics via Windows, although as I've no power to the monitor I doubt it would work, and in tests it didn't. The BIOS doesn't appear to have any setting... A:Compatible graphic card for HP Pavilion Slimline 400-020l

Hi, You need an UEFI enabled, low profile, low wattage graphics card with a full size bracket.  Sometimes graphics cards are shipped with both brackets.  Your PC only has a 270 watt power supply so your pickins will be limited. I have seen some cards that might work but the graphics card manufacturer's all recommend a bigger power supply. A higher wattage Slimline power supply from Athena might work in your PC. You can use GPU-Z to determine the performance (memory bandwidth) as a place to start from when looking for a graphics card.

So I bought my laptop, a Pavilion 17-f113dx a little over 3 years ago.  I am swapping the drive for an ssd drive and I thought while I go to all the trouble of disassembling the laptop that I would change out the wifi card with a dual wifi/bluetooth card to improve wireless performance. I understand that there may be a whitelist in the bios of compatabile cards for a laptop this old.  Where would I be able to find that list?  Or is there a solution short of installing a hacked bios?

A:Compatible wifi dual card for 17-f113dx

Hi: There is no whitelist, but there is almost a bigger problem... 1. The notebook requires extensive disassembly to get to the wireless card.  If you can overcome that, then #2 is the killer. 2.  On most of these newer HP notebooks with single band wlan cards, there is only one antenna connected to the card, and there isn't a second one present. A dual band card such as the Intel 7260 N or AC requires 2 antennas to work. It will take even more disassembly including the display panel area to run the 2nd antenna. Do not rely on the picture in the service manual which normally shows two antennas. You will need to physically inspect your notebook's situation before buying a replacement card. If it has two antennas, then you are good to go. I would recommend the Intel 7260 dual band N or AC card for your 3 year old notebook.

My fiancee and I currently have the Dell Inspiron 17R SE laptop with the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230, and it has worked for a few months now up until the Monday of last week. While on the internet, my fiancee was noticing her wifi speed slowed down to a crawl. She performed speed tests to find out that the speed was not as high as it used to be. She updated drivers for the computer, as well as removed any clutter that would cause the wifi slowdown.
When we tried many options, they did not give us the results that we were looking for. Finally, after some process of elimination, we concluded that our wifi card needed a replacement. I don't want to get any old card to use and then find out that it doesn't fit or is not compatible with Windows 10. I have been taking my time to research what could be compatible to improve my laptop computer, but I have been coming up short.

What I would like to know is what wifi cards are compatible with our Dell computer so that we can get this replaced as soon as possible without having to pay out the nose for unneeded computer repair?

Hi Guys,

I'm currently trying to work out a problem regarding my WiFi card on my L670-14M.

The old Wifi card died on us, so I decided to buy a Intel 7620 card to replace it. This installed fine, and is recognized by the device manager, and I can now find the wifi card in the adapter settings menu.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to go any further. The wireless logo in the corner appears, but with a red "X" through it.

I've tried:
Disabling and enabling the cardUsing the FN+F8 key combinationUpdating the BIOSRunning the troubleshooter (It tells me to switch on the WiFi capabilities via a switch on the computer or the FN keys. I have no switch and the FN key combination doesn't work.I've also attempted to clear the TCP/IP stack to no avail.

All I can guess now is that the card is either incompatible with this laptop, or maybe there's something in the registry that could be changed/removed to help? I've tried several different cards too (as this is a work laptop and we've bought the cards in bulk) and it's not due to a faulty card.

Thanks,

YoYoMachete

Hello everyone,

I just bought the Wireless N PCI Adapter (TL-WN851ND) from TP-LINK for my Windows 10 PC. It says that it's compatible for Windows 7/Vista/XP but it doesn't say Windows 10 on there. I thought that since it works on Windows 7, it will probably work on Windows 10 aswell, but since I inserted the card and have it running my computer freezes randomly and gives me a blue screen sometime later. The blue screen also says MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION. Sometimes when I turn the PC on it will freeze and go to the blue screen while loading Windows 10.

Is there any possible way to make this adapter compatible for Windows 10 without it freezing all the time which leads to me having to reboot the computer over and over again?

A:Making a hardware for Windows7 compatible with Windows10 (Wifi card)

When I tried to install the driver that came with the hardware it said that it doesn't work on this operating system (Windows 10).
I installed a different random driver that I found in the internet, but it still freezes every now and then.

There is a lot of confusing information about updating my HP Pavilion 17-g134ds WLAN Wifi Card.  Looking at the manual it shows my choice of upgrade since this is an AMD computer and no Intel is inside is; Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 M.2 Combo Adapter 792608-005 First I want to know if this will give me a 5MHz signal. Next I need to know if I should concentrate on the HP number 792608-005 when purchasing the WiFi card because there is a different Broadcom numbers associated with the HP number.  There is  BCM943142YHN - 792608-005.  If I search for the BCM43142 then I get a different HP number - 753076-001.    I see that there is a physical difference between the two cards.  The Broadcom BCM43142 has 2 connector legs and the HP number 79608-005 has 3 connector legs.  I have not had the balls to open the computer yet so I do not know what the connector will look like.  On this laptop they have made it super difficult to make upgrades and the whole back has to come off and the MB has to be removed to even up grade the RAM. Does anyone know what the WiFi card configuration will look like for the 17-g134ds? Does anyone know if there will be two antennas when I open this up because there is no bluetooth at this time.  I assume one antenna is for bluetooth and one is for WiFi.  Of course I could be wrong, I am just guessing. Any help would be appreciated. ... A:Update my WiFi card on an HP Pavilion 17-g134ds

Hi: The Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 M.2 Combo Adapter is only a single band wlan card -- 2.4 GHz band only. Any time you see a wireless N card with a suffix ending in b/g/n, that means it is a single band (2.4 Ghz) card. Dual band wireless N cards have suffixes that end in a/b/g/n or a/g/n. (the 'a' denotes the 5.0 GHz wlreless frequency). You are going to have to open up the PC and check to see: 1. What the form factor of the current wlan card is (HMC or M.2).  2. Whether or not there are two antennas present. On dual band cards, you need two antennas for both frequencies to get the best reception for both the wireless and bluetooth. If your PC's current wlan card is the HMC form factor, then you can get this Broadcom dual band AC card. Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo HP Part # 724935-001  Dual Band N: Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2x2 Wi-Fi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter     HP Part # 697316-001

The bluetooth, however, did not work until I did the following: I followed the instructions on post# #50 here https://communities.intel.com/thread/31247?start=45&tstart=0 which involved taping pin 51 (the right most pin with the card with antenea ports face up ) and it worked a treat. Apparently this is also possible with software in the HP Connection Manager but apparently it is not supported on windows 10. No driver installs were needed.

A:Upgrading HP Pavilion Touchsmart 15-n022sa Wifi Card

Hi: HP removed the BIOS whitelists from their notebooks around 18-24 months ago, so the Intel 6230 card should work just fine. What may be a bigger issue as that many notebooks with the Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter only have 1 antenna connected to the card, instead of the normal two. I can't tell you which models do, and which ones don't, and the service manual will normally show pictures in the wireless card removal and replacement section of the card always having 2 antennas connected to it. You would have to be willing and able to take the whole notebook apart including the display panel area, to install a second antenna (should one be required). A dual band card won't work right with only one antenna connected to it.

Hi: Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03593667 Unfortunately the 3 supported wireless cards listed in chapter 3 are all single band cards. Back when your notebook was produced, HP had a BIOS whitelist which prevents any other wlan card from working other than the ones listed in the service manual.

I'm having problems with my pavilion 17-G192DX.  when I have the wifi on, it works for about 10 minutes, then basically shuts down my home network - TV locks up, no other computers can access the internet.  As soon as I turn the wifi off, everything goes back to normal.  HP troubleshooting can find nothing...when the thing is working, that is.  I'd like to upgradethe wifi card with a dual band unit?  I'm thinking the Intel 7260 2x2.  Will that work in this computer?  Any other options?  P/N is V0Q01UA.

A:can I put a dual band wifi card in my pavilion 17-G192DX not...

Yes you can install any wireless card of the right form factor which for your laptop is an M.2 adapter. See the Manual here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04655191 The 7260ac is a mini-pcie card and is not compatible but you could MAYBE install an Intel 8260ac card: https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-8260AC-8260NGW-Bluetooth-Wireless/dp/B01ERMBDCK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&q... Start on p. 31 with removal of the back cover and read through p. 39. The hesitation is that, to install a dual band card you must have 2 antennae and on some HP models with lower-end wireless cards there is only one. So if you want to do this I recommend open it first and count antennae. If two, you can install the card linked above, which will perform as well as any wireless card you can buy.  Let us know if there are other questions.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as SOlution" to help others find it.

Hello Community, My laptop -  HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab253cl (Touch) has a 433.3 Mpbs wifi card installed.  As per the documentation, the wifi cards that can be replaced are Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter (non vPRO) 784644-005Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter 792609-005Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter 792610-005Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter 806723-005 Only the 1st one listed is a 867 Mbps card.  Would any of you know if there are more 867 Mbps cards that are compactable with this laptop ? And if there are any experts from India in this forum, how to get them in Bangalore, India. Since i don't see high bandwidth cards here, yet. Or, if i order one from China via Aliexpress, would that be compactable.  There seems to be a lot of lockdown in HP laptops unlike Dell tha i have seen. Thanks!

I have a laptop INSPIRON E1705 with a WLAN card (p/n DW 1390) installed. I would like to replace it with a WiFi/Bluetooth combo card so I can have Bluetooth capability. What is the recommended card to buy that is compatible with Windows 10?

A:Replace WiFi PCIe card with WiFi/Bluetooth combo card.

Given that there will be no antenna inside the system for bluetooth, you're better off with one of these:

I own a HP Pavilion 500-281 Desktop which has a Pegatron  Memphis-S motherboard. I want to know if my motherboard is 100% compatible with GTX 750 ti graphics card. It requires more power (the HP desktop comes with a 300 W PSU) and I also want to know if a Corsair VS450 Watts power supply will work with my system.

Hi, I would like to know if my laptop Pavilion dv6 1125 is compatible with windows 7? My current OS is windows vista.Thank you,Omar

A:Is hp pavilion dv6 compatible with windows 7?

Absolutely. Anything that will run Vista will run Windows 7. Not remembered much but at the time Windows 7 came out one of its selling points was "unified driver architecture" where Vista drivers are supposed to work in 7, and they usually do. I do recommend a clean install of Windows 7 and not an in-place upgrade. You will have to buy Windows 7 of course.

A:GTX 750 Ti and HP Pavilion p6-2108p? Are they compatible

Abestbeats, welcome to the forum. The reason people are having problems with the "GTX 750 Ti" model is because it requires UEFI Firmware in the motherboard.  HP didn't begin using full UEFI Firmware until mid-October, 2012.  Your computer was introduced in December, 2011. Depending on the maunufacturer of the video card, they may have a VBIOS update to make your card work with your computer.  I know the EVGA, for example, has updates for specific cards.  You have to contact their Tech Support for help.  Also, you may have to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU) in the computer, if you haven't already done so.  It is 300W. Please click the "Thumbs up + button" if I have helped you and click "Accept as Solution" if your problem is solved.

It's good to be part of this community. I have found a lot if interesting info that has helped me as a self-taught computer guy.
I live in West Virginia and I am 50 years young.
.....The questionis this...... I have a HP 541c Pavillion with AMD Athalon 2000+ 1.67 ghz. I put it in a New Case that is bigger. I am Modding it a little with UV lazers and Cathode tubes and even an extra DVD burner and HD.
The Power supply is ONLY 200 WATTS. I am running out of connections.
Can I change to a Bigger PSU or am I limited to this as being Proprietory to the MOBO?
Please let me know soon....I am going nuts.
And i love this place . It is full of more info than i will ever use. Great Idea.
Cosmo

A:Compatible psu for HP 541c Pavilion.

Hello cosmotek and welcome to Techspot.

As far as I`m aware, HP use Proprietary mobo`s and psu`s. Check with the HP website, just to be sure.

You might be better off getting a new atx mobo and generic atx psu. You`ll then be able to upgrade to your hearts content.
