Lenovo y50-70, crashing, crashing, crashing, crash...

Q: Lenovo y50-70, crashing, crashing, crashing, crash...

Hi there. I am writing a post here because I am really mad. Few months ago I have bought my lenovo y50-70 4gb ram gtx960M and the problem occurs until today. The problem is, when I start to play "heavy" games ( like gta 5 or cs; go, lmao) this wonderlaptop crashes. Every time I launch a game, this lapop crashes. I can play 30 mins or 2 seconds but It ALWAYS CRASHES. Firstly, It said that nvidia driver stop responding bla bla bla. So I was searching solution in Internet. They told me to reinstall graphic drivers etc. Ok I did it. Guess what? Crash? Of course it crashes. I was very upset so I decided to update my windows. From W7 64b to W10 64b. Guess what? Ye ye, it still crashes. I turned on V-sync and It helps. Rly. Now i do not receive this annoying statement with "nvidia display stop responding bla bla bla" Now it only crashes without any errors. Sometimes with blue screen but rly rare (thx). Sound loops, image stops, and system crashes. I tried every driver, beta driver, hotfix driver, latest driver, non latest driver. JUST EVERY DRIVER. It doesnt help. I hope u will.Regards! @edit. All temps are fine. Idle 45-50 C stress 55-65.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I had the same issue. It would crash with every game where nvidia card was used instead of intel. I tried various nvidia drivers but it didn't help. However I tried a really old driver 347.66 (not sure about the numbers after the ' . ') and it worked like a charm! No more crashes and the laptop is stable even after hours of gaming. After that I have never updated the nvidia drivers

This started happening yesterday for no reason. I start up my PC, and everything loads fine. I then launch my browser and after a few minutes of random browsing, the browser hangs, and then it grays out and I get the "program is not responding" thing, but then I try to ctrl alt delete to launch the task manager to end it, but it doesn't pop up. It takes literally like 10 minutes until the browser re-activates and then I am able to use ctrl alt delete and end it. Then, I go to restart the browser and it doesn't pop up. I constantly double click it and then it decides to work a few minutes later, resulting in multiple browsers to launch at the same time.

Sometimes when I'm not so lucky, the browser freezes and after a while THE ENTIRE COMPUTER freezes and I have no choice but to hold the button to restart it.
I restarted it in safe mode and it works completely fine after that.

Scratch that. It ran fine in safe mode but messed up in safe mode w/ networking

Hello Forum,

I have the following issues -

1. First received the message on the computer from MS informing that we had an error - went to view details it said that we had a Error 1033. I went and pushed the button to get MS to fix this issue - but continually receive the message that I have the same problem.

2. The time that I rebooted - I noticed in place of the CPU gadgets that i have on my desktop that all MS gadgets had crashed. Again a fix did not work.

3. Internet Explorer is not working and the tabs keep crashing.

I did go onto the MS webpage and ran SFC and posting the pics from the results. I am unsure as to what other information or where to go to try and fix this issue.

I have tried everything prior to posting. I am not sure if any snips from Event Viewer may assist.

Thank you

Yesterday i installed a new motherboard, cpu and ram. All of which are compatible with each other. I run a 1050 ti and a intel i5 9400F, 16gb ram on a 500w cooler master power supply. GPU and and PSU are about 1 year old. I only got these problems after installing the new motherboard, cpu and ram. I had no problems booting the pc and it seemed like everything worked fine. I installed some of the drivers (some may be missing im not 100% sure if i did all of them correctly), but most should be correct.

I first noticed the crashings as i launched cs go, discord and firefox at the same time. (within 2-3 minutes of each other). Opening some apps made the others crash and sometimes loop. Discord would shut down and start back up, cs:go would just shut down along with steam. And firefox tabs would also crash saying something like "oops we've ran into a problem, try refreshing".

I feel like if this was a hardware problem my pc wouldnt boot or any indicator lamps on my motherboard would light up but only SB_PWR lamp is lighting up. I quickly googled it and its supposed to just show that power is on and connecting to the motherboard.

If any more infiormation is needed please ask ill try to answer as well as i can. Hope anyone is able to help <3

Edit: All fans inside the pc are running, everything seems like it is working, but some apps just shut down randomly. Sorta suffocates

Presently, I’m having an issue with Chrome not loading specific content on Aweber.com, and when that same content is sometimes loaded from Firefox, it crashes both itself and Chrome, and sometimes, other programs.

This error also will occur sometimes if I launch Steam (SteamPowered.com) while running Chrome. Chrome will crash, as well as the Steam client. (I can only assume this is because they’re sharing something, but I don’t know what.) I know that Steam uses a type of browser internal to it so you can browse the store, interact with other users, etc.

Here’s what occurs most often, and how I can generally duplicate it.

If I go into Chrome and try to compose a new email in Aweber, it just says “Loading” and does nothing. I think this uses Flash, judging from the source code on the page. Doing this same activity in Firefox will, more often than not, crash Firefox, Chrome, and sometimes “unrelated” applications such as Spotify and Notepad++, which occurred the other day. They literally start crashing one after another, in some sort of chain reaction. Apps running in the tray (Evernote, Google Drive, etc.) are unaffected.

Sometimes, in Firefox, the ability to compose a new email in Aweber comes up and works flawlessly. I notice I have the most success with this after rebooting, and going right into Firefox without letting the computer run for some time.

Sometimes when going into Aweber in Ch... Read more

You’re experiencing Chrome crashes due to conflicts between browser installed modules. Run the browser without loading any add-ons, disable the sandbox feature, reset your DNS settings and so on. I’m sure this will fix up Chrome crashes.

Clear Cache Contents and Temp Files:
1. Click Wrench, select Tools | Clear browsing data.
2. A new page would open.
3. Choose “The beginning of time” from the drop down control.
4. Make sure that all checkboxes are checked-up.
5. Click “Clear browsing data” button.

Remove Corrupt User Profile Data Files:
1. Exit Google Chrome.
2. Double click My Computer desktop icon.
3. Open below directory:
C:\Users\[USER_NAME]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
4. Remove all contents from the “Default” folder.

Okay, so, my story is this...
I have been experiencing random computer crashes on my Laptop. I will list the specifications of this laptop in a moment. The crashes come with NO BSOD or any form of minidump or recording of what caused them...
It will sometimes crash at an insanely random time when almost nothing is running, but most of the time it will crash after I have just clicked play on a video, on the internet. (usually YahooNews or LEOAffairs.com)

Now, before you go crazy and start saying, "well update your Flash Player!!" ..I will have you know that I fully uninstalled the entirety of Adobe Flash, using the standalone Uninstaller, and deleted all remaining files, by following this guide made by Adobe staff... https://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315 and then installed the most recent version, and it still Crashed!

I have also run a Driver Verifier, by following this guide here: How to determine which driver causes Windows to crash ? :: SG FAQ
Using a BSOD viewer there nothing was revealed that I could easily tell what the issue was, or what needed to be changed to stop my issue.

Being that this issue is not easily re-creatable I will keep this thread updated as often as I can, after some people have put down some suggestions on how to fix this.

So, basically it goes like this:
-Click play on video.
-Laptop crashes with no BSOD or Error/Bug Report.
-Laptop reboots.
^^ This goes on for longer than just today..
-I run the uninstaller to clean out Flash
-I delete extra files left over after the uninstall.
-I reinstall Flash using the latest version, hoping it will stop. (it didnt)
-Laptop crashes + reboots again.
-I run the Driver Verifier program, which is built into windows.
-BSOD pops up on restart.
-I shut down and run computer in safe mode.
-Delete all settings associated with Driver Verifier, and then I post the Help thread here.

Hi, I have windows Vista Home premium 32 bit OS installed on my computer. For the past week or so, my computer has been acting really weird and running extremely slow. Firefox won't load some pages. Most sites that equire secure sign-ins take ages. Like ebay, and online bankings, HSBC etc. and then for some reason my browser goes offline out of the blue, tells me that I can't browse because the browser is working offline (happens a lot more on IE than Fiefox though, but it does happen on both).

Also sometimes firefox shuts down on its own, without any warning or an error message, when I download something, clicking on the recently downloaded programme doesn't open it, when I right click and then open the folder containing the downloaded item, even the folder doesn't open and when I try to manually open the "download" folder or sometimes even when I try to open control panel, I get a message windows explorer has stopped working and is restarting, sometimes not even the message and windows explorer just crashes on it's own without any error.

I've tried using google chome, but sometimes it just won't load pages. I click on the plus tab, and type the adress some it would load, but some it won't no matter what. the page stays blank which is weid because I've used Chrome before and when you open a new tab the page is never blank, instead it shows your previously opened pages or the history (unless you specifically tell chrom... That is Human Interface Device class driver since it's the same driver on all Windows systems we can rule out the driver and assume either one of the other drivers interfered with it(like the 2 outdated ones above) or there is piece of hardware(touch pad, mouse, KB or game pad) acting up. Im running windows 7 ultimate 64 ... I dont know totally system specs. It's a custom rig that I purchased about 6 months ago. I dont think the specs matter anyway because I don't believe this is a hadware problem, but a windows problem.

Ok,

So about a month ago I was unlucky enough to pick up a virus infection somewhere ... you know, those fake anti virus ones that totally destroy your system and leave you helpless. It started this whole chain of events that lasted two weeks and ended up with me running in safe mode for more than a week trying to fix the problem. I tried restoring my computer via system restore a few times and got an error every time - (which in turn 'damaged' my restore points so I no longer can use this option)

So, I figured I would reinstall windows and fix it. Sadly, whatever was on my comp as turned my CD drives (DVD and bruner) into dead weight - they won't read a thing. So I got Dlite and mounted the CD to a virtual drive and tried to install it that way, but for whatever reason it gives me an error and reboot and wont finish the install. It does however take me too the new log in screen, which gives me an error when I try to create a new log in for the new windows. I was able to get back into the old windows install and managed to delete the new one. Anyway .. I eventually was able to get spyware docter and a few other programs to run in safe mode and I cleaned the comp of all virus's BUT when I tried to run windows normally it would barely run at ... Hi there,

I have had a few problems with my custom built computer. I believed at first that I had malware and virus issues, however a nice technician on the virus forums said there was no problem.

I am receiving the dreaded Blue Screen of Death fairly frequently, I am not playing any games, just browsing the internet when it happens.

Secondly, my browsers (both Mozilla 3.6.8 and IE 8) are both crashing very frequently - Mozilla comes up with a report message saying it has crashed and asks me whether to send or not to send the report, whereas IE reloads the tabs frequently, but to a point the page cannot be reloaded and has to be closed down.

As well as this, a lot of my executable files are crashing - I am getting error messages from things like java, flash, avg, my network card, windows messenger etc saying that they have crashed.

This problem is happening very frequently, I cannot seem to go half an hour without browsing with no problem.

If anyone could help it would be VERY MUCH appreciated!

Thanks.

A:BSOD, exe files constantly crashing, browsers crashing.

You need to post some hardware details about your custom built computer.
Something is unstable and it could well be the memory modules.

In addition, when you see a BSoD click details, it will generally state which executable caused the problem.

I would be tempted to look for a copy of memtest and run some memory diagnostics.

We have a Dell desktop with Windows 7 that is having all sorts of issues. We currently have AVG free version and it is finding things and putting them in quarantene, but it doesn't seem to be running correctly and is hard to get in to. Most things listed are Win32 and Win64 Adware Gen. Also INI Shorcut

I have run Malwarebytes, but nothing shows up at all. I have deleted both Adaware blocker and Google Adblock because that is what Chrome said to start with. Didn't help. I was getting the Aw-Snap message. Many times it just freezes up.

What should we try next? We did lose our graphics card a while back due to lightning, followed by losing our sound a few months later. This is all new, though and I don't think it is hardware related. I am not very computer savvy though.....

So i've thoroughly scanned my computer with lots of anti-malware apps and anti-rootkits and yet the only programs that have been able to find issues are Roguekiller and aswMBR. Roguekiller reported some IPR hooks and weird registry entries, but i've heard these could be false positives. I just want to be sure if these things aren't interfering with my SSD, causing stuttering and crippling my computer's performance. The one that concerns me the most is aswMBR, it's always crashing and is not able to finish the scan, and some driver is highlighted as RED, it seems to be related to storage. Safe Mode doesn't work either. I've attached a screenshot. I've tried everything. I also had some weird tracking cookies adding themselves to google chrome after a while. I kind of fixed it by blocking them through the settings. Thanks a lot in advance.

I doubt, it's RAM issue...0x00000124 error: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff...28VS.85%29.aspx1. Download and install updates and device drivers for your computer from Windows Update. 2. My Windows 7 computer has recently been crashing - sometimes I get a blue screen, sometimes it just restarts. It can work for 10 hours or more without a hitch sometimes, though sometimes it crashes sooner than that. It wasn't a huge problem, but I decided to re-install my OS anyways (I deleted all the partitions, and did a fresh install) - and the problem still persists. Previously, it was perfectly stable for the previous 6+ months (or longer) that I've had Windows 7 installed. The hardware is a couple years old.

So I'm thinking it's a hardware problem, but I'm not sure what's the problem. Hard drive? Power supply? Maybe RAM?

Thanks for any help.

Did you overclock and did you set the volatage correctly?

Hello,
I have been getting a crash every few days or so that I was wondering someone here might have some insight on how to fix. The screen in question:

http://imgur.com/a/PIXyX

I have a self built gaming desktop with the following specs:

*i7-2700k cpu
*AMD r9 290x (reference version)
*GigaByte Guerilla motherboard
*3 x 4 Gb Ram
*Samsung 850 pro 256gb SSD

Some symptoms that may be of relevance. *My computer faces the wall (so I have ease of access to the rear for port use) and I can feel the video card getting pretty hot, like the HDMI port on it

*This will happen after starting up the video game Overwatch

*It happened again a few hours ago, but this time the screen was just pure blue (like the crash screen but no writing), and nothing works, like no display etc.
Any advice is welcome.

P.S.: Can't use the sysinfo tool because the computer in question doesn't work since the last crash. I'm using my laptop currently.

The problem is I don't know how to contact Lenovo support directly that's the reason why I'm here . How can I look if Lenovo Energy Manager is properly configured? Blizzard recommended me to ask if Lenovo can help me to ensure if the clockspeeds on all my hardwares are in factory default speeds (I have no idea what's clockspeeds). Thank you

Vista has been acting up on me for a while now. Mostly blue screen's and various application crashes (superfetch and quite a few other things). It seems to crash most while running a virus scan or IE9.

Yesterday in an attempt to try and smooth out the performance I tried to defrag my HDD's. During the defrag I ended up getting a blue screen. I left the defragging at that, but now im trying to install a game (starcraft2) which had installed perfectly fine no more then 48 hours ago, and I constantly get errors saying "Could not write ______ to disc".

My question is, could a crash during defrag corrupt the HDD and make it impossible to write to it? (above info if you think the problem could be easily fixed)

I had this laptop for about 3 years now "http://www.cnet.com/laptops/sony-vaio-vpcf126fm-b/4505-3121_7-34121949.html" and about 2 years ago my computer crashed and received a Hard-Drive failure is prominent please back up your disk. Well Saber from the very last comment you made I would be seriously thinking of replacing that drive mate and ASAP.
this is a good way Imaging with free Macrium

and there is this MACRIUM REFLECT - Create Bootable Rescue USB Drive

You could even clone (Macrium will do that) it to a drive that is of at least equal size or larger but any problems and they will transfer with it of course.

An extreme alternative is Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then you need to reinstall all the backed up programs but it will get rid of the bloatware.

Hello, Since two months or so I can't use my Lenovo G510 properly, because it keeps crashing and acting strange. I updated the drivers as far as I know and the harddrive scan told me theres nothing wrong with my system. I did a virus check and couldn't find anything. I get blue screens with a diversity of errors, the system sometimes deletes my games, programs or bootes in some sort of "safe mode" in which my laptop looks like it has been taken back to the fabric configuration and has deleted everything (after restarting it's back to my current desktop , and I get all my programs and files back like nothing happened), and there are times in which my system won't boot at all. I start, it loads 5 seconds and turns off. I am clueless and at the point of throwing the thing through the window. I really hope someone here can tell me what might be wrong and what to do to fix this problem. I made some photos of the crashes and put one of them in here so you can see what those errors are. It's dutch, I'm sorry for that but the text says: "There's a problem with this computer and it has to be rebooted. Errordata will be collected, then the computer will be restarted." Sincerely,Graciousgirl.

Hi Guys, long time lurker, first time poster here, looking for some troubleshooting advice.

I "think" i have a driver issue with my graphics card. I'm experiencing random freezing events with the odd crash/BSOD.

as the title says last was a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL 0x0000000D1 address.

the card is an asus flavour Radeon R7 260x 2 gig DirectCu OC edition Ive had a little peruse on a few forums which shows these can be problematic when it comes to drivers/updates. my machine doesnt crash often (very intermittent 5 times in may, twice in april, 5 times in march, more of an annoyance than anything else)

admittedly I ended up fudging the Asus GPU tweak tool to get my card to work properly (apparently theres a known bug flicking between 2D and 3D rendering mode (if thats a thing?) which flicks the memory clock from 150mhz to the full 1750mhz, if the card wasnt kept busy my pc halted, sometimes randomly. so i set the VRAM to always be 1750mhz (this no longer works as the driver update has made my card a Radeon R7 200 series and isnt recognised by Asus kit)

This has come about as I've recently got Wolfenstein: the old blood on PC, which prompted a driver update from AMD, which was duly done via the auto detect and update via the site. since then ive had considerably more freezing (not so much crashing) where the system halts on hardware.

I'm comfortable saying this isn't hardware as the issue seems to be caused at random. plus Wolfestein runs perfe... Read more

Have you updated your video card drivers with the latest drivers from the Nvidia website?  Have you monitored your GPU temperatures to see if either of your GPUs are overheating?  You can try using GPU-Z to monitor your GPUs while gaming.

Hi AnnoyingPear,

Welcome to the Forums

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system crashing while playing games in your Lenovo Y510p laptop.

As you have mentioned that this issue does not occurs in other games, please uninstall the game and reinstall and check for the issue as this looks like it is a issue with the game.

Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists!

For about a year now, when I install games, (not really a specific one), it seems that when I try to hit Play in Steam, it'll auto-crash right to the desktop. I make sure all my drivers are up to date, and even make sure the game files are all good. The thing is, only a small percentage of games actually function. And games that worked fine about a year ago, before thi issue, worked fine before. But, now, they'll install all clean but crash as soon as launching them.

Didn't happen before. I have downloaded all Lenovo updates and MS updates I have been able to find for Windows 7.Suspect it may have something to do with the fact that under "ThinkVantage Tool Box>Diagnostics>DXevice Manager Alerts, I have a message that says "Driver not installed on PCI memory conroller" and another message that says "Driver problem on Intel PCIC Compatiable PMCIA Controller". Both give me click options for reinstalling the drivers, but when I do that for the PCI Memor Controller, I get a dialogue box that says the manufacturer of the device is unknown and a message that says: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver". Then, I cannot click on the update driver tab and get anything. On the PMCIA Controller, the dialogue box says the location of the device is unknown and the message says: "his device cannot start. (Code 10)".

All Lenovo diagnostics checkout. Also, I tried that PC Reimage/Repair software several times. Still--my computer crashes at random. I haven't seen it crash when connected to the docking station. Anyone seen this problem?

HI! I know nothing about computers so please help and don't use complicated language!

My desktop recently started crashing every application I open (or try to open.) The only program I can successfully run is Google Chrome which I have no problem with at all. EVERYTHING ELSE, including task manager and files crashes after a few seconds or wont open at all. I can't even get McAfee to run to see if it can shut anything down.

Memory is at about 36% and same with usage.

Is this a virus? or something wrong with the computer itself?

I have been using Lenovo g500s from last 3 years. From last 8-9 months I am using windows 10 64 bit on it. But from last few days it crashes randomly. Laptop doesn't give any warning message and suddenly shuts down. Now it's not turning on with power button. But when I start it from boot menu it starts but gets shutdown any time. Please help to find out the actual problem. Will it be caused by hardware or software problem. What should I do.
