Abuse Team Robot Sent me a message -help!

Q: Abuse Team Robot Sent me a message -help!

I've never heard of the 'Abuse Team Robot' but i jsut got a message that says, "Our robot has detected an abnormal activity from your IP address..probably connected with last epidemic of a worm which does not have official patches... we recommend you to install 'this patch' to remove worm files and stop e-mail sending. Otherwise your account will be blocked. Abuse Team Robot.

This sounds scary. Most of all, I have no way to verify whether or not it is true. I have not done anything yet. Anyone have any similar experience and advice? Thanks so much. Geranium.

Preferred Solution: Abuse Team Robot Sent me a message -help!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Q: Abuse!

Hey whats up

Im a college student with decent computer skills and a knack for taking on problems which end up to be harder then expected

I help out other people around campus with their virus problems for free... the big problem is i hit one i cant kill and since its not my computer its not like its readily accessable to get 2nd opinions (i need to build a like 1.5 ghz loaner system for ppl to use while i fix their pc)

anyway **since i talk alot at this time it may be helpful to just go down and look at my questions and decide if u want to reread**

This girl had like virus times 8 billion on her pc.. so i was like... ok get what you need off of it and burn it to cd etc etc etc... so i was all ready to kill this hard drive and go clean slate... she didnt have her disk for xp home so i was forced to use my own copy of xp pro... (ok ive done it now, microsoft will be knockin on my door)... i figure the girl already bought it she doesnt know the diff between pro and home - its legal, right? yeah yeah yeah

so i format the hard drive... it was an hp 2.4ghz with 40gb hd .they had originally partioned it to have D: for windows and C: for BS... but i decided id just do away with the partion, cuz who partions drives nowadays...

I boot it up for the first time after having Xp installed and it asks me if i want to run xp home or pro.. and im like... uhh.. wtf... how do u know anything about home...

so after all that good stuff i was like ok its gonna work! minor setback.. ... Read more

Sounds like a re-re-install is in order. I will assume she has a valid COA for Windows XP home. In that case, locate any valid Window XP Home installation disk (she will not be able to active the XP Pro - it will be dead in 30 days) and do a CLEAN install of XP using that disk. You can change the COA number to her valid number (hopefully that number is shown somewhere on the machine) using the procedure here. A followup activation will most likely be required. As for the reinfection. MTTI (mean time to infection) using an unpatcher copy if Windows with no firewall is 20 minutes. I've seen system infected from the net in less than 30 seconds. You MUST be sure a firewall is active before getting anywhere near the net after a clean install of Windows. Then head directly to the Windows Update site and install All critical updates.

Have a C with a cracked 15.4" LCD in an HP notebook ( and a point of impact on the other side of the panel ) that insists that this was not caused by abuse. Does anybody have any documents or technical manuals that describe how a physical crack in the LCD is impossible without some form of impact or extreme temperature variation that would be constituting abuse and void a warranty?

Has anyone here ever had to deal with an abuse department for an ISP Soley over EMAIL ? I ask Becasue it is the only apparent way to contact MY ISP's abuse department . But on to my problem does anyone know if an ISP will give out out a MAC adress of an IP that belongs to one of thier clients. One of thier clients has apparently found a way past my router firewall and onto my network where i have faced repeated intrusion attempts from the offending IP. I found out that the only way i can block access into my router is by blocking the MAC adress , unfortuantly My ISP won't provide me with the mac adress's of these individuals. It seems that the past three times i have sent the complaint they have found something wrong with it and have not really specified waht was wrong withthe past emails i sent them. I spoke with a lawyter frined and they said that the only way i may be able to get the info i need is to file a criminal complaint, but i really really don't want to go through that hassle, anyways if anyone has an idea as to how i can obtain these individuals mac adress i would suerly appreciate the help.

I have a private domain name for my small business. Somehow, someone has figured out how to produce emails with a bogus "from address" using [email protected] (not my actual name & domain name shown here) pushing everything from viagra to knock off watches. Some of the bogus emails from "ME" use real account names I have set up, while others use gobbled letters and numbers followed by my domain name. My domain name issuer is a large warehouse company online and gives me some free email accounts with that. I haven't been able to get any answers from their site and have yet to speak to a real person. My website host also issued some free email accounts too. I already called the latter and they said it happens all the time ... absolutely NO help.

This is a huge problem because I read that these outfits broadcast thousands if not millions of these. Some of my intended recipients have told me they blocked my address as spam. And microsoft has sent messages saying emails from my domain were being blocked for egregious usage. Eventually after enough time passed MS allowed me again and the emails from bogus seemed to have stopped. But here it is a year later and I'm seeing a huge bogus campaigne again.

How does this happen? How can I stop it? Is there somewhere to report it? If I change domain name host will that cure the problem?

Got home from a three week holiday to find that my ISP has blacklisted my outbox. I thought that Kerio, AVG and other securities software would catch a thief but no, and it would happen while I was away. I can only send mail from a webmail site for now.

My ISP offers a bailout with the condition that I clean up the mess on my end. Spysweeper found nothing. How do I take back control of my computer? Is there a program? How do I catch this spammer in the act? How can I assure this will not happen agan? How come suddenly I go from no "ping" to holeyer than a fishnet?

I guess it is partly my own fault for not retrainingThunderbird when suddenly deluged with viagra ads and stock market notices. In my defense, I am not all that computer savvy and I was busy with travel prep. One does have a real time life.

Please, someone help. And remember to use words a five year old can understand. I know just enough about computers to be dangerous and fill a thimble at the same time.

The puzzling thing is, I thought I had completelty closed down my rig before I flew off. Scary that.

Hi All
Attached are a couple of links to articles about people who have abused the freedom of the internet, have been traced and sentenced. There seem to be quite a few of these. In the UK, particularly, there is a disatisfaction with those who claim to be using their 'freedom of speech' to attack largely innocent victims.
Generally the attackers hide behind anonymity.http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/09/02/twitter-troll-jane-austen-note-stella-creasy_n_5752056.htmlhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-27648521
Some readers will know that I've been viewing BC for a while and contributing occasionally since about May this year.
Generally I've only posted in General Security because an issue has arisen that needed to be solved. I've received good advice from BC.
I'm not certain whether I should use the term hacker, cracker or just abuser to describe the person who's been attacking my PC, almost daily, since April. It's highly unusual for someone to target a stranger and pursue them with an almost insane doggedness for that time. But the articles linked show that this *is* actually possible. You don't have to be doing anything wrong.
That said, the identity of my PC-attacker has become known to me and he lives in the UK, in the northern part of the country. I've been assisted by google, so thank-you to them.
This forum is US-based but I'd like to know what advice BC can give for bringing about a prosecution for hacking by someone who lives in the UK.

Dear all,
please beware of the Bitdefender purchasing policy!
Based on some internet anti-virus review I have purchased the Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 one year subscription.
After one year has expired, the Bitdefender has, without any notice or order, made payment with my credit card again! I have checked my profile whether I have checked the recurrent payment option but I cannot find that option anywhere on the mybitdefender profile (personalized profile after registration).
Bottom line:
I highly discourage you to purchase the Bitdefender products since they have abused my trust and credit card.
Sincerely yours.
I have found that there is a fine print in the license agreement. Just don't make the same mistake as I did.

A:Bitdefender Credit Card abuse!!!

The following information is displayed as part of the online purchase process:
Continuous Protection provided by Bitdefender will keep your computer protected from latest viruses and Internet threats by Automatically Renewing your subscription at the then-current renewal price plus applicable tax. You will be notified by email about renewal prior to the expiration of your subscription. Without taking any actions you authorize Avangate, online vendor of Bitdefender, to automatically charge your credit card by using the contact and billing information you provided for your purchase today.
Is it right to blame Bitdefender for you not properly reading the terms and conditions at the time of purchase?

hi everyone,

i have 15 songs almost ready for burning onto a cd,

i normalized them and they are at about 79% dbs, i want to keep them at that level,

and ofcoarse, some songs still sound louder than other songs,

so what is the formula ? how do i compress, hard limit or what ever with the song files to make them all sound the same volume to the human ear ?

i already experimented with one song file, i amplified to 2 dbs, then amplified again to -2 dbs, got that flattened out look on the wave spectrum, but the song sounded distorted,

other songs that already sound louder, that have that flattened out look on the wave spectrograph, don't sound distorted, how did they do that ???

thanks very much,

All security companies and researchers spend a massive amount of time documenting and alerting about phishing scams, malware attacks and delivery methods. It is a constant catch up where the ?good guys? are 1 or 2 steps behind the ?bad guys? and unlike the movies, the guy in the white hat doesn?t always come out the winner.

The bad actors always find a way to stay one step ahead. This is especially true with phishing and they continually innovate and find methods to deliver their ?product ? to you.

A phishing attack needs an initial approach to the victim, normally an email saying something like ? update your bank or PayPal account? like these examples:

A month or so ago, we started showing up on several internet blacklists out there, so I scanned all the PC's at our office (or most of them, anyway), thought I'd found the problem, and got us removed from all of the blacklists. In the process, I signed up for AOL's feedback loop so I'd know if problems started again (AOL was one of the mail services that was blocking emails from our IP). Starting yesterday, I'm receiving lots of reports about abusive emails coming from our IP again! I'm trying to find a way to figure out which PC (or PC's are infected)...is there an easy way to do it? We have about 20 on our network. I'm willing to scan each one manually, but if someone could guide me to the best products for doing so, I'd appreciate it!! And, what about any products to keep spam from getting OUT of our network? Is there such a thing? I'm a one-woman show here, so any help would be appreciated!

I'm looking for an application which works as follows:

I give it the address of a webpage, and it opens up each link on the webpage, and then opens up each link in each opened up page, etc... and so on.... until a pre-specified number of levels deep.

So, in some sense I'm looking for a web-browsing robot.

This way, I can sit back and view all the web-pages without having to injure myself by repeatedly clicking on the links.

Robot City is an old '95 game. Nevermind why I'm wasting my time with it..

I can load the game just fine and everything works except for a small glitch in the display. When I move the mouse it leaves a large square trail behind it and distorts the screen turning it black.

The help file mentions this and I am running the game in 640x480 and 256 color just as it says I should.

Any ideas?

Here is the section of the help file that mentions it:

7. Video Display Problems
Robot City requires 256-color mode
Robot City is an 8-bit, 256-color application. In order to view
Robot City, you need a video card which supports at least 256
colors in 640x480 resolution. Robot City requires you run in 256
color mode. Other modes will cause colors to appear incorrectly
and may cause streaking or trails on the screen. If you are not
in 256-color mode, a warning dialog will appear when you launch
Robot City telling you to correct the problem, exit and restart

I then use the app on my phone and it works fine but its really frustrating to have to do that when I just bought this computer not even a month ago. Please help!

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio laptop and recently whenever I use YouTube, Spotify, Netflix, stream or play audio/visual content anywhere the sound freezes and makes a robot noise constantly.

I am a dummy with computers and technical stuff but from what I have read on the web regarding this matter it could have been something to do with drivers, too much stuff on the hard drive, flash and/or java needing updating etc..

I have done all of these things (I think) and it still hasn't done anything! Could someone plleeassee advise me what I need to do to sort this out.

Also, my fan is very hot and sounds like a vacuum cleaner (I have tried cleaning it, I think I need a new fan) but could this be affecting anything?

Thanks all

edit: I use latest internet explorer, and sometimes chrome but it is the same on both of the browsers, and besides it happens with spotify which is downloaded?

A:Audio sounds like a robot on everything, please help!!

It does sound like something having to do with your sound card drivers. I would go into the device manager which is in the system tab of the control panel and completely uninstall the sound card and any other related components; reboot; then let windows hopefully re-detect and reinstall the sound card and its associated drivers. If you need more info on anything just ask.

In some hotels, they have it set so if you add/uninstall or change anything, it resets to the way it was, after robot. How do I get this computer to do that?

It has Windows 7: Ultimate (32-Bit). Also, I don't want everything to reset, just some things.

Let's make this short and to-the-point:
- Purchased XPS15 9550 in April 2016
- Upgraded SSD to Samsung 950 Pro 512GB.  RAM is 32GB Crucial DDR4-2666
- Purchased the WD15 and TB15 docks
- I work at a high-tech company, one that designs and works on PCs, laptops, and desktops.  I have a degree in EE.  So I am very very technical.
- OS is Win10 Enterprise x64 with my company's standard IT bundle.
1. TB15 does not work.  USB devices will drop after 5 minutes and DP / HDMI will drop a few minutes later.  Tried all the drivers and BIOS updates.  TBT utility will fail to detect the dock even if connected. Updated TBT FW to NVM16.  It is only good for charging the battery.
2.  WD15 partially works.  USB and DP work >80% of the time, but highly disruptive during the work day.  Decided to use it just for charging as well.
3.  Called Dell TS multiple times on the TBT problems above, and had MB replaced twice.  Problems remain.  I've just given up because their TS people have no clue about they product they are supporting, or just were not given any alternate path / options after replacing the MB twice.  I can attribute problems above to Dell's faulty TBT implementation.
4.  Most annoying is the random, robot-voice, mouse/kb slowdown occurring a multiple times an hour.  I hear it when on Lync calls, watching videos, playing music, etc.  I tri... Read more

I'd like to add the robots tag to my site. Where in my home pages html should I place the tag? And should it only be put on the home page? Also one other thought, I have a form on my site and don't want it indexed, should I place no follow in that pages html?
I know that there are difference of opinions as far as as using meta tags, but I figure it can't hurt.

A:Solved: robot meta tags

A robots.txt file is a short text file that resides in your home directory. Before search engines spider your site, they look into this file to see which files/file types and/or directories they are not allowed to see.

More details at http://buzzycode.com/
The following disallows all search engines and robots from crawling select directories and pages:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /privatedir/
Disallow: /tutorials/blank.htm

It seems like a question ripped from the back of a cheap sci-fi novel: What happens when the robots are turned against us?
But researchers at the University of Washington think it's finally time to start paying some serious attention to the question of robot security. Not because they think robots are about to go all Terminator on us, but because the robots can already be used to spy on us and vandalize our homes.

Since my modem has been reset, one of my laptops cannot go anymore to google without having this error message:

404. That's an error.

The requested URL /cgi-bin/cgi?req=twz was not found on this server. That's all we know.

It's bizarre, because I never entered "/cgi-bin/cgi?req=twz" in the adress bar. Just: www.google.ca . I can confirm that this website is working on all other computers in the house.

Am I the only one who has this? How to solve this problem?

Thank you very much!

I downloaded it from

A:force delete karel j robot

Please don't double post (original thread : http://www.techsupportforum.com/f10/...er-183140.html)

If the program had any installation utility then check add/remove programs to see if there's no related entry first.

Try to delete the folder in safe mode : repeatedly press the F8 key when the computer starts and choose safe mode in the menu that will appear.

Else give unlocker a try :

My problem started one night a few months ago, when watching a film from my pc on to my tv, everything was going ok then it started to freeze for a second or two with the audio sounding like a robot then continue playing ok and would start repeating it every so often, so, i tested all my hard drives with DSKCHK, no problems, did a check with seagate disk test all ok, did a memtest all ok, did a graphics stress test all ok, then one night i was going through some audio tracks and the robot sound appeared on them, so i thought that rules out graphics side, i even swapped from motherboard audio to a soundblaster card and did it on both, i deleted MPC to VLC same on both, i even did a windows xp repair, still happening, i even found a asus motherboard test but nothing on that, all drivers up to date, i recorded on my cycle cam which replicates the problem, and can be found here http://vid1177.photobucket.com/albums/x348/andsaw/PC Audio/23090002.mp4 its at the 40second mark, you will have to turn your volume up high as the cams mic is not brilliant, can anyone identify whats going and how i can sort it, any other info required please ask.
Motherboard Asus P5KC.
Processor Q9300.
Graphics generic Nvidia 9500GT.

I hope this is in the right section.

A:Audio Freezing Sounding Like A Robot

Hi there

The problem is definitely a software one, because you said you tried another sound card and the problem persists.
The problem is most likely coming from your codecs/filters.

If you have codecs installed, uninstall them and try playing again.
Still not working, uninstall all media players. Re install VLC and try again.

Last ting I can think of is that you download and install XP codec pack.
Just Google it, you will find it.

Hope this helps
