I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

And if yes what's the best processor to do so? And will it cause some problems? Is it AMD A8-4500M? Or AMDA10-4600M? My Laptop's Specs:-AMD A6-4400M (2.7GHz) APU with AMD Radeon HD 7520G-8GB RAM-500 GB HDD 5400RPM Will gladly appreciate any response.

So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HD: 750 GB
BIOS: 45CN36WW

It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. When it went to restart, all it could do was go to the opening Lenovo screen which gives you the F2 (setup option) and F12 (multiboot menu option) as it typically does. Besides a thin strip at the top that appeared after about 30 secs that only displays moving static that eventually will just stick, that is where the boot process ends. No Windows 7 screen, and certainly no opportunity to boot into safe mode to check for any problems. The screen freezes and goes nowhere.

So basically, all I'm getting in terms of boot options are lenovo features, not windows 7 features, meaning it won't boot into windows 7 or windows 7 safe mode no matter what I try. The biggest problem here is that I have no windows 7 disc to even try to boot from my dvd drive.

Anybody have any suggestions on what the probl... Read more

A:Motherboard for Ideapad z570 - Part No : 1024 AFU

hi Varnareddy,

Welcome to the Forums.

Looking at the Parts Lookup page, the Z570 Model 1024AFU uses the following motherboard:

FRU#: 11013769 - LZ57 MB DIS GS 1G FOR DUAL CORE B3  SYSTEM BOARDS

I'm not familiar with the stores there in India but I looked online and I can't seem to find this part there. However, I looked into the spare parts list (Lenovo US) and the FRU#: 11013769 can be oredered via the Lenovo Parts Sales Hotline (877-453-6686, options 4-3-2).

Note:
The item can be shipped only in the U.S. / Canada. In case the part fails, there's a 30day return / 90days parts replacement.

Hi, I have a Lenovo Ideapad z570 (Model: 1024). It won?t boot up, and I had it looked at by a local expert computer repair shop that said the motherboard is dead. I?ve had the laptop since around 2006 or 07. It has a lot of self-created problems and it?s not worth fixing (as far as I can tell), definitely not if it costs $250-300+ for replacement and install.  Mainly, I want to be able to recover my data from the hard drive. I could get that done at the local repair shop, but they charge $110 for that service. My question is this: how difficult is it for a novice to recover data from a hard drive on their own? I?ve read it?s not difficult when a tower motherboard fails, but it seems like the process is a lot trickier with laptops in general. Anyone have some experience or advice for recovering data from a hard drive (from a Lenovo Ideapad z570, more specifically)? Alternatively, does anyone know how difficult it would be to replace a motherboard by himself (assuming someone without any experience is doing the labor)? I?d really appreciate any advice! I?m looking into getting a new Lenovo right now, but I?m really concerned with recovering the data from the old laptop. Thanks in advance all

A:Ideapad z570 - dead motherboard, data recovery?

The easiest way to recover the data off the old HD would be to purchase a USB to 2.5" SATA drive enclosure similar to this one, remove your laptop's hard drive, mount into the new enclosure, plug it into a USB port on your new computer and then copy the data over to your new computers drive.    Your old data should be all located in folders named favorites, Desktop, Documents and Pictures etc. located under C:\Users\<your username> , and can be copied over to the same locations on your new computer if desired. Instructions on removing the HD can be found on page 37 of the Hardware Maintenance Manual linked below.    It also details the steps to remove the System Board (motherboard) which, as you will see, are far more involved. Lenovo Z370/Z470/Z570 Hardware Maintenance Manualhttps://download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/UserGuide/en/User's%20guides%20and%20manuals/Z370&Z470&Z570/Le...  Good Luck,

Dear Members,I am in trouble with my  Idea Pad Z570: I bought it couple of years ago running Windows 7. During the years of usage I had no trouble at all. With Windows 10 beeing released, I upgraded and it starts to make a lot of troubles: Bluescreen directly after boot or sign in, no WiFi, ... all the known stuff. So I decided last week to downgrade to Windows 7. But now, I am even in a bigger trouble:I tried to boot the Windows 7 from DVD and it crashed into Bluescreen saying: Windows Error 0xc0000225Restarting is not helping. So, i tried to go into BIOS to boot from another device, but I do not even get to BIOS or UEFI. So, thats a kind of Deadlock: I cannot boot from Harddisk because Windows Error 0xc0000225 appears and I cannot get into BIOS & UEFI because the Windows error 0xc0000225 comes before getting to BIOS. Hope this description of my current situation is understandable and you guys have a lot of ideas how to fix it. Thanks!TheGooner

I have an older Ideapad z570, it made a popping sound and it won't power up now either.  I ordered a replacement adapter from lenovo thinking that was the issue as the light on the adapter was not coming on when it was plugged in.

After reading some of these boards, it appears I might have an issue with the mother board.  I would like to see abou getting it replaced, but there are no repair centers close to me, and I cannot find any information on Lenovo's webiste as to who I can contact or where I can send it.
And information to this end would  be greatly appreciated.  Sorry to tack on to this thread, but seemed silly to create another one for the same issue.

Thanks,

If you have a z570 you'll know that they have a switchable graphic system controlled by a switch at the front of the laptop. Hello there!Would somebody be so kind as to tell me how I am able to turn off UEFI mode in BIOS of my Lenovo IdeaPad Z570?(I can see very few things and options in the BIOS menu at the moment.)It's necessary, since I'd like to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium to my computer and during the installation process there is an error message - while choosing the partition where to install the system: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."And I've read somewhere that turning UEFI mode off would solve the problem.By the way, I'd appreciate any other ideas or suggestions to solve this problem.

A:Lenovo IdeaPad Z570 - MBR/GPT disk problem (or BIOS/UEFU)

There are two solutions for your problem.WARNING! Both the ways that I suggest will ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA ON YOUR HD! If you have anything you want to save, copy it before doing it.First, easy, is to erase all partitions from your disk via windows installation utility. Then, windows will offer you to convert disk to GPT.Or, if windows doesn't do it in this 'automatic' way, you can convert disk to GPT using diskpart. For this, use this manual to access console http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/682-command-prompt-startup.htmlThen, type following commandsdiskpartWait until it loads, and thenLIST DISK <-- this will list currently connected disks, you should determine which of the disks is the one on which you want to install windows and remember its number.SELECT DISK <0> <--you should replace <0> with the number you had on previous stage, in most cases, it would be 0CLEANCONVERT GPTCREATE PARTITION EFI SIZE=200 OFFSET=1024SELECT PARTITION 1FORMAT FS=FAT32 QUICKCREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=<size_for_win_partition_in_megabytes> OFFSET=206848SELECT PARTITION 2FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK That should be all) After this, you should be able to install windows on your hard drive.

My Windows 7 basically blew up and is no longer working. I tried a one-key recovery as well which utterly failed. As a last resort I tried using Windows 7 recovery disks sent by Lenovo. There are 4 disks 1,2,3, and an additional disk. Everything seemed to be going somewhat smoothly, although slow up until disk 3. The screen shows

"Current Item: ApplyOs" "Recover process is running please don't remove your power adapter."

It's been like this for days. The blue bar load bar under it seems to still be running. Tried again, this time with 4 different disks sent by Lenovo. The first 3 disks went a bit faster, but the end result was still the same, getting stuck on "ApplyOs". Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

A:Motherboard/Processor upgrade help

Well at the least you are looking at a new CPU. Chances are you will need a new motherboard as well, but maybe not. Other things you may need to upgrade is the RAM and powersupply - but again maybe not.

Can you post you motherboard model, RAM type and speed(ie PC2100), and powersupply make and wattage. Also post any Systemax model number. You can find all this using Everest: http://www.lavalys.com/products/download.php?pid=1&lang=en&pageid=3 - just note that you may want to look at the RAM visually to see if whats being reported is the correct info - you could have faster RAM running at a slower speed.

Also note that in most cases you will need to format and reinstall Windows when upgrading the motherboard due to the change of the motherboard chipset - its also just a good idea to do.

and plan on new system w/DVD+-RW in 12 to 18 mos. So I want to be economical (around $200.00) but at the same time don't want to skimp. I have onboard sound and video and would like to use the 512 Megs of SDram I have, to save buying DDR memory. If I can find an adaptable motherboard and processor upgrade using the existing hardware (listed below), will I need any other hardware? Does anyone have any suggestions for the MB & Pross. replacements or the easiest way to upgrade ?

Present specs:
Board: SNC302EEH
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software International, Inc. 6.00 PG 10/31/2000
512 Megabytes Installed Memory
Slot 'BANK_0' has 256 MB
Slot 'BANK_1' has 256 MB
Slot 'BANK_2' is Empty
ATI All in Wonder Pro 32MB Graphics Card
8X Write/4X Rewrite/32X Read CDRW Drive
12X Max DVD-ROM Drive with Software Decoding
10/100 PCI Ethernet Adapter
Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live 5.1 PCI Sound Card
Thanks, Bob

Hello, Is there a chance to upgrade and change out the aforementioned parts on this desktop? Or should I just do a total rebuild? Or anything along those lines. Goal is to use a zotac gtx 750ti and AMD 6300 processor (i am aware this is not compatible with the current mobo).  Thanks in advance.

A:i want to upgrade my old pc motherboard & processor

Just to clarify: Did you mean 10,000 Indian Rupees? In currency terms, this equates to $149.33 US and 114.70 Sterling at latest exchange rates. The reason I'm asking is because the "k" on the end usually means thousands, and this would work out to 10 million Indian Rupees.

I appreciate there may be a language barrier, although your English is a lot better than my Hindi, and I just want to help you out so we know the baseline for making suggestions

Hello All Recently I had an issue with my lenovo Z50 70. First it was not getting charged (no charge light) and didnot power on. I tried charging now and then for couple of days and one day i saw smoke from speaker grill. Not sure why all these issues happened. One of my friend told me that motherboard is shorted. Laptop is out of warranty. Need help: where can I buy a motherboard (inexpensive, ready to downgrade)  and where can I get it changed? I stay in Boston. Mine is Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70 i7-4510U 2GHz motherboard.  Any help is appreaciated.  TIA

I am looking at upgrading my motherboard/processor/memory only, have been looking at some motherboard bundles on Novatech.co.uk for around the 150-200 mark but nothing really takes my fancy.

I've like something with a dual core processor, lots of USB ports (both externally and internally as I have two USB ports on the outside of my case) , firewire ports (again inside and out), and can support all my current hardware.

Any suggestions?
