Preferred Solution: Unknown Hard error when trying to access Outlook 2016 (365)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi All,

I'm new here and searched for the above and couldn't find a related post so I'm posting a new one. I have an Executive Administrator(EA) who needs full access to many of the Executives Contacts and Calendar lists and even replies to emails on their behalf. For the above reasons she has those executive user accounts on her Outlook for Mac 2016 client.

If the EA was using Apple Mail she could have setup the Exchange accounts and uncheck the "Mail" option for those Executives that she doesn't need to support in this way(please see screenshot attachment). Is there a way to do this in Outlook for Mac 2016? I know we can use delegates but this makes setting up meetings for her EA's difficult (she can't drag and drop meetings around for example).

She also want's to suppress all those contact lists when she's composing an email from her Outlook Email composer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unable to edit query SQL when there is a where clause but no group by without getting the -1001 error.

Example:  This query is fine.
SELECT DISTINCT BB1.StudentID, Table43.Booking_date, Table43.Session
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN Table43 ON BB1.StudentID = Table43.StudentID
WHERE (((Table43.Session)="230"));
But if I simply enter the SQL editor (and don't even make a change), I can not save it without the Reserved -1001 error popup even if it was already saved as is earlier.  Apparently it needs notation like
SELECT DISTINCT [BB1].[StudentID], [Table43].[Booking_date], [Table43].[Session]
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN Table43 ON [BB1].[StudentID] = [Table43].[StudentID]
WHERE ((([Table43].[Session])="230"));
in order to be accepted. In particular the [] around the field before the FROM
SELECT DISTINCT [BB1].[StudentID], [Table43].[Booking_date], [Table43].Session
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN [Table43] ON BB1.[StudentID] = Table43.[StudentID]
WHERE ((([Table43].[Session])="230"));
is no good, but
SELECT DISTINCT [BB1].[StudentID], [Table43].[Booking_date], [Table43].[Session]
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN [Table43] ON BB1.[StudentID] = Table43.[StudentID]
WHERE ((([Table43].[Session])="230"));
will work.

According to all sources that I could find on-line, it appears that rules are part of pst file.

However, this does not happening in my case.

I use outlook 2016 (part of MS office 2016) and have several accounts linked with this ? From my ISP (POP), Hotmail, yahoo, Gmail. I have rules only for account from my ISP.

Recently I deleted my Hotmail account, removed it from my outlook, deleted associated ost file. Then I had second thought and re-activated this hotmal account the following day. Added this to my outlook. To my surprise all rules vanished. Not a single rule remained. I did NOT have any rules setup for Hotmail account. Even column details for message folders (part of setting) got changed.

I decided to check further. Copied my pst files to another computer which had same version of outlook installed and has exactly the same setup.

Now I added some rules on my 1st computer. Checked the 2nd computer. The same rule appeared there. That means pst file does not contain rules.

So, Where are they?

Hope someone can help me. I am lost!!
Thanks

getting send receive error 0x800ccc69 with outlook 2016. I can receive but not send e-mail. I have associates in my office using same settings on Outlook 2016 without a problem. I have spoken with Microsoft numerous times-reset email accounts, etc and doesn't appear to be an issue there. My ISP doesn't have anything blocked so doesn't appear to be a router issue. I am able to send via webmail for my e-mail server Bluehost so server doesn't apper to be the issue. I'm down to checking my Netgear firewall Prosafe VPN Firewall FVS318v3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Sending reported error 0x800CCC69 outlook 2016

Try to double-check your Outgoing Server settings. Especially the Username, and Authentication. You should be able to get the correct settings from your ISP.
It may also be helpful to know which type of e-mail you're setting up. Pop3, Imap, Exchange etc. etc.

I was using Outlook 2007 calendar and sync with google in my old computer. It worked fine. I did not successfully backup the outlook. Now, I am suing a new computer with vista. I am trying to sync google calendar with my outlook. It always pops this message out error:2016. I checked the error message online. It reads, "This error displays if you try to sync your events before signing up for Google Calendar. Please log in to Google Calendar at least once before using Google Calendar Sync." However, I tried logging in before I am doing sync, but it is still not working. Same error message pops up, always.

I am importing an Outlook 2016 generated .CSV contact list into a webmail email account but keep receiving the following error.

Unknown error for item "(Unknown)": Could not parse csv file - Reason : missing column name for column[92]

There are 92 columns and each one has a column name. 92 columns is what Outlook 2016 generates, most columns are empty, just the name. I had previously tried deleting columns with no data but still got the same error, and always for the last column.

Is there a trick to get this contact list imported successfully? I am trying to create a whitelist filter to reject all email where the FROM name isn't in my contact file. My .CSV file contains 162 rows.

I've seen some posts suggesting a conflict with Malwarebytes.  Try uninstalling if installed.  Also updates KB4022725 and KB4022405 are being blamed for initiating the problem.  I'm looking at third party options to improve search.

I am baffled by this one, and hope someone can help. I've installed literally dozens of gmail accounts into Outlook for clients, but this one is giving me fits. Every time I try to enter the account into a new Outlook 2016, the program hangs and then gives me an error message about an IMAP error, saying "Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following:" with an error number and a link to "answers" from Google. Now, I know Outlook and Google very well. The suggestions they give are the ones I have already done:

enabled less secure apps access to the account
double-checked that the password is correct and logged into the account online
enabled IMAP connection in Gmail settings
logged in through the CAPTCHA site suggested, though no CAPTCHA appeared
checked to be sure that two-step verification is NOT turned on
created a brand new profile through the Mail section of Control Panel
entered suggested Gmail server and port settings manually
My method is to create a profile without an email account so that I'll have a pst file to contain contacts and calendar. Then, I add the email account. This is just crazy, I've never seen anything like it. Ideas would be most welcome!

Visio files are received as attachments in Outlook 2016. Visio Viewer 2016 and IE11 are also installed on Windows 10 (1607).
Previewing the Visio file (VSD in this case) is successful. However, when you try to open the Visio file, IE11 attempts to open it (as expected) but only displays a blank page.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this issue?   Other articles suggest that Visio Viewer 2016 does not support IE11.

Have you carefully checked the incoming and outgoing server addresses? In addition to having that correctly entered, check for any typos-a comma (,) instead of a dot (.). Is everything spelled correctly? (I once had an Outlook Express issue and after an hour of looking over the settings saw my mistake, I'd entered ,net instead of .net)

If you are trying to use Outlook with your internet providers mail, go to your providers website. Look for help sections, faq's, etc. You most likely will find the correct settings there.

Let me start with analysis of this error.
http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php

If you are getting this error when trying to reinstall from your XP cd, then it sounds like you have a loose damaged or incorrect cable to either your cdrom or hard drive. I suggest replacing them both with quality 80 wire 40 pin IDE cables. It can also be caused by incorrect configuration if you have RAID or SATA drives.
Finally you may want to try with just one stick of RAM installed. If you have more than one now; you should try each in the slot nearest the processor all by itself until you rule out one of them being bad (If it works with one stick and not the other, you know the other is bad).

There is more information on possible causes of this error at ahuma ; but my first suspicion on seeing the image checksum mismatch is that the file in question has been replaced with something else, a trojan or virus.

Hello ,

what you need to do is erase the harddrive then do the reinstall , you can get a free program that you can create a bootable cd to do this with from here

or you can download the tools to do this from the manufacturer of the harddrive

either way you will have to make the bootable cd

make sur you read the instruction on the way to use the program

then start your system then put in the cd / reboot to load the cd and then erase your drive

depending on the size of your dive this can take from 1 to 5 hrs

this will write the drive to zero's and make it as if it never had software install on it ( like new from the factory)

"Patch Tuesday" broke our install of Outlook 365. It was working fine on Monday and on Tuesday it was hanging on "Processing." So I restored back to the last restore point before the update and it worked great after that. Yesterday it re-installed the updates, and again Outlook didn't load. Restoring again today "fixed" it. Now it wants to update again, so I will disable updates until the problem is fixed. I don't know which particular "patch" is causing the problem; there were about 22 of them that installed.

quote "I can't delete/move messages from the inbox, it pop out a box and tell me to restart outlook on the unknown error. what caused it??

-You must have tons of email in your Inbox, Sent, Trash, Misc. ect. to have 2GB. There is a size limit. This could be your problem. Do a Google search to find out the size limit and how to archive folders for your version if you really need to keep that much.

-or...In Outlook>go to Help>Detect and Repair...>follow the instructions.

-or...Put your Office cd in your cd-rom>you'll see an option to Restore Outlook to it's original configuration. If you've customized your pref buttons, you will need to put them back to your liking. You won't lose your email. At least I didn't when I needed to do this to restore when something broke in Outlook.

But I really believe your problem is with the amount of email you are storing.

I have WindowsME with Outlook 2000, just yesterday (not having installed or done anything new - deliberately anyways) Outlook began to "act up". When I open e-mails or appointments, to read or alter them, as I close these Outlook provides me with an error message:

Outlook has caused an error in unknown. Outlook will now close.
It also suggests a system restart (which hasn't helped). I have deleted a bunch of old files within Outlook. I also ensured that my virtual memory is set up so my system decides/selects this. I have more than 2GB of memory free on my HD (out of 20GB).

I can still receive and send e-mails - just can't read them without going through the hassel of re-opening the program. I also cannot create new appointments (or alter old ones, as mentioned above).

Marty,

Just by accident I found out that you can get rid of the message by activating the button [>>] in the Outlook menu bar. Then select [Add/delete] buttons. Finish with selecting "Default". I have guessed the English text, starting from another language.

Hope you can use the solution.

If I don?t click on it I can still view my desktop and everything looks normal but I cannot use the start menu or task bar. Using windows + I won?t even pull it up either. I can use task manager and windows + R, and I can also bring up the command prompt. I?ve already tried contacting microsoft support team to no avail. I paid $800 for this computer so if anybody here could help me fix it it would be greatly appreciated. Well - first - I would verify that the hard drive is completely clean by running DBAN on it (link available in my signature).

Also - test the HDD (link available in my signature) and RAM (use memtest86+ - in my signature).

A quick google search brings up this also.. Not that helpful - but points to RAM and hard drive like I already mentioned.

Hi All,

I have been trying to resolve various issues with W10 (see other posts) and have been trying to use Safe mode to rule out possible configuration abnormalities.
However, on both of my test machines, I get an error dialog titled:
explorer.exe - System Warning
with the content showing a yellow triangle and the wording Unknown Hard Error
... preventing me getting into Safe mode.

here's a pic (note I have moved the dialog to show the start button in the same view)
Any clues?

As I said, this happens on both machines; one is a Dell 9150 desktop and the other a dell E6520 laptop. Other than this problem, the E6520 works fine in normal mode, although the desktop has other problems with an explorer crash/restart loop at startup.

Thanks

"An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'Scoil Eimear', Server: 'scanner.scoilnet.ie', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 4.7.0 Not allowed.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67"
Please help me to fix this error.

A:Outlook Express. An unknown error has occurred

That's a temporary, transient SERVER condition,
421 The service is unavailable due to a connection problem: it may refer to an exceeded limit of simultaneous connections, or a more general temporary problem. The server (yours or the recipient's) is not available at the moment, so the dispatch will be tried again later.

In outlook when sending and receiving mail, all incoming mail comes in fine, but when outgoing mail is being processed, outlook gives an error message:

"Task 'RPM Mail - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC69): 'Unknown Error 0x800CCC69'"

I've looked this error up on the Microsoft Knowledge Base, but have not found a relavant solution.

my other computer a xps 400 has been hit with somebad spyware that my antispyware and norton can stop or get rid of,now i cant even get computer to boot up all it does is blue screen with couple of errors, tested hard drives, both passed tested just about everything even trying to safe mode nothing works, looks like i might have to wipe harddrives clean again,my tech support with dell expired 2 months ago,so i cant find the instructions in wiping out all the partitions etc.,and the correct order to install drivers, can you give me any suggestions? thanks Rich

Hi rsnider, welcome here.
It will ceratinly help if you mention the blue screen error code here.
Expired warranty doesnt mean Dell Tech Support wont help, they will.
Your Dell computer has a ghost partition in it, which will allow you to restore it completely to the period you bought it first..you can do this by hitting CTRL+F11 keys when you see the Dell splash screen at start, but remember data stand to be wiped out.

I have recently been unable to run an antispyware program (Noadware) except in Safe Mode. I had no trouble with this program in the past. When I attempt to run it in Normal Mode, error messages appear but the screen turns blue before I can copy them. When the screen turns blue, I see the message "Stop: d0000144 unknown hard error." Whenever this happens and I restart my computer, I notice that a new version of windowslogon.exe has been entered into the Windows pchealth folder.
My antivirus program (ZoneAlarm)and my other antispyware program(Zone Alarm) do not indicate any infection or malicious software. I tried using RegCure, which cleaned up the registry but did not solve my problem. Aside from this problem, all other programs are functioning normally.
I would appreciate any help.

A:STOP: unknown hard error

Hi

Firstly please don't use a supposed "Reg Cleaner". It will usually make matters worse.

In order to get more details please do the following:

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your .dmp files.
If there are no .dmp files then Search for: minidump
Remember this location and the path that leads to it.

(OR my way is go to C:\WINDOWS and then search for Minidump and if it has files in it)

Then:
1) Download and install the Debugging Tool from Microsoft

All you need do is download and install this. Make no attempt to start or run it.

2) Download and install this debugwiz.zip

This is a DOS based batch file that will command the above Microsoft Tools.

3) Open the Debugwiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.
4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread using Advanced Reply>Manage Attachments, as found here:

If you find more than one dmp or mindump file, then analyze separately the latest 3 ones (look at properties for the date) and attach their output logs back.

If you are looking for links on how to interpret this data for yourself try here first: http://www.wd-3.com/archive/registercontext.htm

apologies- i posted this earlier today with the title "mystified", then realized i should have been more specific- so i marked the thread as "solved", since i didn't know how to change the title.
anyway, apologies to the forum monitors.... but solved it ain't.
okay, and i've edited out some of the whining.... okay, a LOT of the whining.

tried running chkdsk c: /f an hour ago.

it stopped with this message:

STOP: c000021a unknown hard error.
Unknown hard error.

i've reproduced it here as it appeared (with the two lines).

when i entered the text of the first line as a search on TSG, this message appeared (seemingly not a TSG message, but who knows?):

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 79 bytes) in /home/httpd/vhosts/helponthe.net/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 3279

any idea what is going on?

Hello all!
I am looking for assistance regarding my dell e1505 laptop, running windows xp. When I turn on the computer windows starts up fine, it loads my start up programs and then right about when it gets done, the screen goes blue and it says "unknown hard error." The computer starts fine in safe mode and I have been able to back up all my files. I'd like to try and fix it short of reinstalling windows if possible, but if I have to I will.

I have the windows xp disk that came with the laptop if that helps.

Thank you for any assistance, it is greatly appreciated!

A:C0000221 Unknown Hard Error - I need help

Hello Yukuzo, Welcome to TSF!

To rectify this problem firstly you will need your Windows? XP SP2-CD.
(Recovery discs are not recommended with this procedure.)

Enter the Recovery Console (with the Windows?XP CD in the CD Drive), and enter the following command, to rename the file...

ren c:\windows\system32\ntdll.dll ntdll.bad > ENTER

While you are in the Recovery Console, it might also be wise to run an error check on the HDD; try this command...

chkdsk /r > ENTER

Post back with the results.

Kind regards,

I'm presuming that the Vista BSOD's are similar to the XP one's - if that's the case, here's a link: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.php#0x221Indicates driver problems, system file problems, disk corruption problems (such as a damaged pagefile), or faulty memory hardware. As such, I'd run chkdsk, recreate your pagefile, run MemTest86, and then start looking at your drivers.A look at the Event Viewer may enable you to associate a file name with it. Or, a search of your hard drive for .dmp and .mdmp files may lead to more information. If you find the .dmp/.mdmp files - here's a link on how to analyze them (all of this works in XP - I haven't tried it in Vista): http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35246EDIT: Oops! I didn't notice the ntdll.dll file, nor the comment about XP working. That probably rules out the hardware stuff. I'd still run chkdsk on the volume that you're installing Vista to and then would start with your drivers.

Sorry if i ended up posting this in the wrong spot i couldn't really see anywhere else.

But anyway, after booting up my computer this morning and leaving the start menu of windows 8 i had gotten a message that said "Explorer.Exe - System Warning  Unknown hard error" so i click on OK to get out of the window then my screen flashed and after that everything was perfectly normal after that.
After a reboot it didn't pop up the second time but after rebooting a 3rd time it had popped up again.

If anyone has any idea on why i'm getting this message on start up please let me know.

Also I did get some help here on the "Am i infected" forum the other day and a helper had me do a few scans not sure if that might of caused it buy that's only thing major that i really remember doing this past week.

A:Explorer.exe unknown hard error

Still having the problem,  didn't pop up this morning when i booted up but after i got home from classes it had popped up after starting up.

Have Pavilion G7 laptop w/Win 8. Presented with a flashing desktop/app screen. It is not "flickering" and does not start flashing until fully booted. Once flashing it is all but impossible to select anything. On occasion it does not flash, but get the error box stating Unknown Hard Error explorer.exe. Closing the box initiates the flashing. Only thing available then is Ctrl/Alt/Del and boot to safe mode. Does not flash in safe mode. Checked virus/bug free and has all MS updates and works perfectly in safe mode. Repair option is unavailable due to gets error initiating. Other fix options say "it looks like an installation did not complete..." and it forces to reboot, which repeats cycle. Have not tried factory reset/new OS installation yet.
