I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It's 10.2.156.32 and available at the 'usual' URL; http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ which, if you use IE, will get you the Active X version (and a Google toolbar if you don't uncheck it!) which is installed online, but, if you use any other browser, you should get the 'plain' version as an .exe file. Whichever browser you update, don't forget to run the Adobe uninstaller first;http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

I haven't seen a Changelog yet so you may want to hold off updating until it becomes clear whether this is a 'security' upgrade or not (they usually are!).

A:New version of Adobe Flash Player!

Still no sign of a formal Changelog for the latest version but Adobe have now amended their website to refer to it, together with the following not very informative statement 'Adobe recommends that all Flash Player users upgrade to the most recent version of the player through the Player Download Center to take advantage of security updates'

Edit: I did post an URL to a relevant Adobe list of versions which has suddenly ceased to work and now points to an entirely different page! I have no idea how I managed that, apologies to anybody who saw this before the edit and was totally confused by it.

Except there is no movie or text. An error message simetimes comes up which saays that Get plus has stopped working and Windows is searching for a solution. Everything closes.. and no flash player. I am using windows vista.

A:Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.45.2

Go into "Programs And Features" and uninstall Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX.

Go here and click the green icon to download and save Adobe Flash Player 10.0.45.2. Close all open windows first, then double-click the file to install it.

Note: This is for Internet Explorer. If you're using Firefox or some other non-IE browser, you need this version instead, which is Adobe Flash Player 10 Plugin.

If you use both browsers, then install them both.

You can try the version detection by Adobe to see if your installation has worked:http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.htmlIf it shows the version that you have mentioned, there could be a problem with the site that you are visiting.Otherwise you might need to re-install the latest version of Flash Player.

I have IE 9.02, Windows Vista 32 bit version and Flash Player Version 10.3.185.5. In the past I never had a problem installing the latest Adobe Flash Player. This time when I tried to download and install version 10.3.185.7 the installation never completes. I get no error message or anything. It just keeps saying installing the new version but that's as far as it goes. I'm very relucant to uninstall my current verison and trying to install the new version. If that also fails then I won't have Flash Player at all. Anyone else having the same problem with this version of Flash Player. Maybe the best thing is to just keep using version I currently have.

Hi not sure this is the right place to post this problem.

I use Game Ranger to launch my Links2003 Golf Game. For the past month and a half every time I try to enter this site I have to install Adobe Flash Player 11.5. It is already installed in the proper folders (system32) and (SysWOW64) I have contacted Game Ranger but they can not help.

I went to Adobe Site and got the uninstaller for the the Adobe Flash Player. followed all the instructions, Removed it completely, Removed Game Ranger completely. Then reinstalled the flash player 11.5 and checked to make sure it reinstalled into the proper folders. then reinstalled Game Ranger. and it worked fine for almost 5 days. Now I have to reinstall the same flash player every new day I go into Game Ranger.

Can you suggest anything

Thanks in advance

All of a sudden, I am not able to download Adobe Flash Player (the latest version, of course). In the recent past, it would download within a couple of minutes. Now, it takes as long as 20-30 minutes, acting as if it is going to install. Ultimately, it comes back with an error: "Cannot contact reliable source." Thus, it doesn't install.

I am no longer able to watch videos or look at any site that requires flash player.

Any help would be appreciated, as I am not very good with technical issues.

FYI- I have Windows Vista, 32-bit.

Hi....

I have been running Secunia Online Software Inspector every other month to make sure I am up to date with all software.

Just ran it and it advised.

The detected version installed on your system is 11.2.202.233 (ActiveX), however, the latest patched version released by the vendor, fixing one or more vulnerabilities, is 11.2.202.235 (ActiveX).
I downloaded it via the Secunia site and ran it. But it did not do anything.

I then went to the Adobe website and downloaded it from there and ran it. But again it did not do anything.

I ran Secunia again to see if the latest version had been detected but it it still advising that the old version 11.2.202.233(ActiveX) is still there.

So, I am stuck and need some help from the experts.

I have run the log as advised, please see below. If you need any other info please let me now.

I've been using Flash Player in the Metro version of Chrome for quite a while now, and it's been fairly useful since the the Metro version of IE is oddly crippled. I like the Metro interface, but not the way web browsers have been crippled to use NO plugins.

Just today, Chrome started giving me a pop-up message saying that I can't use Flash Player unless I run in legacy/desktop mode.

Is this just my version of Chrome messing up in some way, or was this change actually made? I really don't understand why on earth they would cripple the Windows 8/Metro mode all of a sudden. What's going on?

We have IE 6. Say a user goes to MSN.com. The ad on the right is a Flash object. Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it. It's quite annoying. Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player 9, but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player 8 as well. Other systems don't have the problem. I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed.

Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first, but users later complain again. Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player 9 again, because sites ask for it. I don't believe I've seen this on any XP systems at all, including my own, but most of our users have Win2K.

Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it?

Thanks,
Hotshot309

A:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0)

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at www.stormwerks.com/linked/stuf/AYB2.swf) work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

Any suggestions?

I uninstalled Adobe Flash with their uninstall tool because I read somewhere you needed to update it because of major security flaw. I went over to the Adobe website to try and find an update, as well as a tutorial on how to update, as I had no idea what version I had. Their website is a mess unless you want to purchase something, and then you can find whatever your want. Since I had no idea what version of player, I just DL their uninstall tool, then DLed their new flash. I used their uninstall tool, and then reinstalled the new Adobe Flash Player. The only PU that came up was that it couldn't install in Opera. I went looking to try and configure it, then I read in the post below, you had to go to the link, http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ for shockwave, and figured it would lead me to flash and all that crap. I remembered what a PIA it was. I went over there, and it says flash works, but I still don't know if it's the latest flash or not. The flash player for IE and Firefox is in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. The IE one is called Flash9f.ocx and for Firefox its NPSWF32.dll.

You can view current version, by going to a page with a flash object on the web page, right click on the Flash object and select About Adobe Flash Player 9 and it will take you to Adobe site and display version.
You can also get version from the files about on the Version or Details tab of its properties.

As for removal, just either use the Uninstall tool in the same folder (See above) or delete all the files in the folder to remove it.

Reason for concern. I do training on a Ford Motor site and the site indicates that I must have Macromedia flash player and I have Adobe flash player not Macromedia flash player. My understanding is that they are both the same. Is that correct.

A:Macromedia flash player/ Adobe flash player

The site must be way out of date, Adobe acquired Macromedia in 2005.

What is the site's address?

Not sure where this should end up,but I'm sure it will be guided to the correct forum,as always.
After doing quite a bit of reading today,I decided that the Adobe PDF viewer is a resource hog. I uninstalled any traces of it I could find in my add/remove programs part of my pc. Just a few minutes ago while reading another post here at BC, I discovered I had to install Adobe Flash player to view an article thru YouTube.
My question is how does flash differ from the pdf viewer? They're both an Adobe thing, right?

I opted to download a small viewer called Sumatra,by the way.

Thanks
honu1

A:Adobe flash player+Adobe pdf viewer

It's a different product and unlike Adobe Reader, there are no alternatives for Flash.

It doesn't appear in the add on section

Not listed as Shockwave Flash Object ?
Click the gear icon in top right corner of IE11

- Click Manage Add-ons

- Verify that Shockwave Flash Object is enabled.
If that does not work, reset IE 11.

- Click gear icon

- Click Internet Options - Advanced - Reset

I'm getting frustrated and hoping someone can help.

I use Google Chrome and I really like it, but I've started to experience a problem when it comes to Adobe Flash. Whenever I try to watch a video or play Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook, I get a message saying to upgrade to the latest version of Flash. I've done that - over and over again and it still doesn't work. I've uninstalled Chrome & then re-installed and still have issues.

I hate IE, I dislike Firefox and Opera is too slow when it comes to playing games on FB.

Help! Please! It's driving me crazy that I can't figure this out & I'm just hoping it's an easy fix.

Thanks much.

A:How can i enable javascript and another problem with flash player

The first problem completelly solved ONLY BY UNINSTALLING all the previous versions of any flash player then reinstalling them from the link provided by youtube.

I've been having problems on Facebook and playing games for some time now. I get a lot of script errors, and am wandering with the issues I've been having, Does a computer have to have, Adobe Flash player, Real Player, Quick Time, and Windows Media to run properly? I don't have much experiance with these programs, and it seems to me that I have way to many of these programs on my computer and am wandering if one program is clashing with another, which ends up giving me these script errors. Any idea's on this?

I have Opera and i can't tell whether my Adobe flash is up to date , how can i know what the latest version is manually?

Thank you

A:How to check for the latest Adobe flash PPAPI version

The way I do it is to type:

opera:plugins

into the Opera address bar.

Or in newer versions of Opera it's:

opera://plugins

Check latest versions here:

Adobe - Flash Player

also see:

Flash Tester

EDIT:

Also read through your thread here:

Is Adobe flash player 16/ Pepper legit ?

It seems that you didn't understand that Opera doesn't use the PPAPI version.

i was doing some reading somewhere about google chrome and flash players something about chrome pretty much has its own flash player and it updates right along with google when chrome updates is this true and if so is it even necessary to have the adobe flash program installed onto my computer any more or do i still need it

A:is adobe flash still necessary if im running chrome browser

I am finding Chrome does interact with IE so I would load it. In fact, I cannot  think of a single reason not to load it. In fact, all new computers that I setup for customers no matter who they are for I always and I mean I always make sure Adobe Flash and Reader are loaded no matter what. Lately been doing Java for finding I am needing it more now than before.

Hi, I am having a problem with Adobe Flash crashing in Chrome and when I launch Internet Explorer 9 it just sits there with a blank window trying to display the home page forever. The affected system is running Windows 7 64-bit with all important updates installed. IE9 & Chrome are the only installed browsers. I have tried the following already:GFI VIPRE scan (current company anti-virus) - cleanMalwarebytes scan - cleanCombofix - doesn't appear to have done anything though report is available for inspection if needed.Removed and reinstalled Adobe Flash, Adobe Shockwave, and IE9 I haven't tried to remove and reinstall Chrome yet only because it is the only functioning browser on this system.I was hoping someone could check out a Hijack This report for me and see if anything is amiss. Thanks!Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4

A:Adobe Flash crashing in Chrome and IE displays nothing...

Hello, Welcome to BleepingComputer.I'm nasdaq and will be helping you.If you can please print this topic it will make it easier for you to follow the instructions and complete all of the necessary steps.===HijackThis is not able to provide accurate information for 64 bit systems. In your case we need to see a DDS Log.I would remove HijackThis using the Add/Remove Programs list. Please download and run this DDS Scanning Tool. Nothing will be deleted. It will just give me some additional information about your system.Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here.Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool. When done, DDS will open two (2) logs: DDS.txt Attach.txtSave both reports to your desktop. Please paste the contents of the DDS.txt log in your next post. The scan will also create this Attach.txt log I would also like to see the content. Please post it in a other post for my review, do not attach the file.

I use Google Chrome as my Internet browser and from time to time it crashes, usually while playing YouTube videos. What I mean by crashing, the little sorry frown face replaces YouTube video and up on the status bar it will say, 'Adobe flash has crashed click Restore button'. I've searched for solutions via the web and it appears to be happening to a lot of people but I've found no solution(s) even over at Adobe's website. I've uninstalled and reinstalled already and I really don't know where to go from here. Thank you for any assistance you can give me.

I have used Secunia Personal Software Inspector ( PSI ) 2.0 to scan my PC running Windows XP SP3. It shows me that I have two Shockwave versions installed on my PC.

The old Adobe Shockwave Player [install path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Shockwave 10\SwOnce.dll, version 10.4.1.32] and
the new Shockwave Player version 11.6.0.626 [install path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Adobe\Director\SwDir.dll, version 11.6.0.626 (ActiveX)].
The old version is marked as a security threat by PSI. Therefore I want to remove it.

However, I cannot uninstall the old Adobe Shockwave Player version 10.4.1.32 using the "Add/Remove Programs" utility in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel because it is not listed.

Is there a way to remove the old version without touching the new version? Any advice appreciated.

A:Need help uninstalling Adobe Shockwave Player version 10.4.1.32

Try the Shockwave Player Uninstaller.
