I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello

There is a problem in which Flash Player stops once during the operation of the business portal currently operating based on Flash Player, so please contact us.

As a result of the verification, it is confirmed that it is not related to Adobe's Flash Player and is related to the function of Shockwave Flash Object installed in Windows 10 Internet Explorer 11.

Therefore, I would like to know whether it is possible to delete and reinstall the Shockwave Flash Object function.
And I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade or downgrade only the version of the Shockwave Flash Object (or any other related function) while leaving the version of Internet Explorer.

Thank you.

Hi,
We have a COM dll which when embedded in html file and ran on Internet Explorer (Windows 7) was working fine. We were able to make call to the APIs exposed by the COM dll.

But recently, we installed the windows updates namely
KB3074886 and
KB3065822.

After this, whenever we are accessing the API's of this COM dll, we are getting an error "SCRIPT438: Object doesn't support this property or method: ".  So we tried uninstalling the above two updates and saw that we were
able to access the APIs of the COM dll perfectly fine. Only when these updates are installed we are facing the above said error.
Can someone assist us in what may be going wrong here. It will be very helpful for us as it is important for us to run with this updates installed in our system.

Thanks in Advance,

Hello,

I have run into a nasty problem, when using the internet and using any search website, google, yahoo, bing, etc.. , I click on a result and it will redirect me to a seemingly random page or a site with similar things that I searched but on a totally different site from where i searched from. This happens no mater which browser i use, IE, firefox, opera, etc..

Another problem is that internet explorer will randomly start up and will not even pop up on my taskbar but sounds( music, advertisements, etc..) will be playing and iexplorer.exe will be in my process, ending the process will make the sounds dissappear. if left running i will eventaully get a message saying IE needs to close.

I am running Windows XP and have tried malwarebytes, superantispyware, and avira antivir. Needless to say, this is very annoying. Anything you can do to help me?

Thanks,

Darryl

Hey guys, a few days ago I installed cyberdefender, but it was a bad program for me so I uninstalled it. What I didn't expect was, cyberdefender created a new search provider for my IE. So now, everytime I type something in the search box for IE, it automatically become the address. For example, if I type "how to get cookies" in the search box, it became "http://www.howtogetcookies.com", and ofcourse there is no such site; therefore, everytime I uses the search box, the page become not invalid. So it is very frustrating. Please help me get rid of this stupid search function. (I think this search function uses the web ws.infospace.com) I also tried to manually detele this by going into tools, manage add-on, and detele the cyberdefender search function but it did not work.

I have IE6 with XP and SP2. I can access websites as normal, but today I noticed that I can't use Google or Yahoo etc. (I could yesterday, and suspect the kids have changed something but they deny it)

If I put a value in the search parameter field and click the "Search" button, nothing happens - no search occurs and there's no error message.

Eventually I've realised that IE isn't processing any url that contains parameters (as in a search), but it will process those without. For example, on the current google.co.uk home page, clicking on the hyperlinks for Images, Groups, News, etc doesn't work (they have parameters, shown in the status bar), but clicking the More>>> link does work as this is a simple link to a page.

Can anyone tell me what to do next ? (Can't find anything at MSoft)

A:Internet Explorer - can't search

Offhand I don't know what would cause this other than a possible search page hijacker.

The quickest solution might simply be to do a System Restore and see if that corrects it.

If you have different User Accounts on the machine (and with kids you probably should, just giving them limited privileges), you can check whether the problem exists in more than one profile.

Hello boopathis, Welcome to TSF!

Please try this workaround (you will need your Windows? XP SP2 CD).

(In the event that you do not have a Windows? XP CD with SP2, you will need to 'borrow' one from a friend or colleague, as the manufacturer's "Recovery Discs" will not work in this instance.)

Insert the Windows? XP CD in your drive. (Hold down the Shift Key to prevent it from starting.)

Go Start > Run ...in the box type in sfc /scannow …please take note of the space between the sfc and the /.

This is the System File Checker...it will scan all the Windows? core system files to ensure that they are in their respective correct places, and if not replace them from the CD.

During the scan you may be asked to Insert the CD, if this happens just go retry and let it do its thing.

One important point: While sfc is running, it is not advisable to do any other work, or have any browsers/programs running on the computer, until the scan is complete. (This process will generally take around 45-65 minutes to complete).

Once finished, remove the CD and reboot your machine...all should be "Normal" (hopefully).

Please post back with the result, or if there are any further queries/concerns.

Kind Regards,

Welcome to TSG!

First do the following:

Go here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and download Adaware 6

Install the program and launch it.

I strongly recommend that you read the help file to familiarize yourself with the program.

Before running the scan look at the top of the main window and you will see a Gear Icon. This is where you configure the settings. Click on that and then in the next window that pops up click on the "Scanning" tab on the left side. Under "Drives and Folders" put a check by "Scan within archives" and below that under "Memory and Registry" put a check by all the options there.
The click on the "Tweak" tab and under "Scanning engine" put a check by "Unload recognized processes during scanning" ...........then......under "Cleaning engine" put a ckeck by "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot" then click "Proceed"

Next in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on "Check for updates now" and get the latest referencefiles.
After getting the latest referencefiles you are ready to scan.

Click "Start" and in the next window make sure "Active in depth scanning" is checked then click "Next" and the scan will begin.

When it is finished put a check by and let it fix everything it finds.

Restart your computer.

There is a wealth of useful information stored in each object's profile.  For example, I can search for a user account and quickly see all recently accessed resources and activity.  Is there any way to link to an object's profile directly?
It seems to be using some GUID in the URL, like https://ata.company.com/profile/2e159f63-ca21-4047-a90b-7b5d55ac2b84?tab=about&status=Open&severity=All.  But I can't correlate that to a user or SID.  It would be amazing if I could, because
I could add that as a link in other applications.  So while I'm browsing users in an online dashboard, I could click directly on the user and poof, I see the entire history in ATA.
The second piece to this, is search the only way to get to that information?  I'd also love to browse a list of users, computers, and groups that ATA has access to.  That would be useful if I can't quite remember the username, but maybe I remember
the OU or something.

There are a couple of things that you can do.

One is you can go here to set google as your search engine.

http://www.google.com/options/defaults.html

In IE, you can also go to view -- Explorer Bar -- Search engine and open up the Search sidebar. Now you can click on customize to change the settings.

You can also set the auto search settings for searching for the address bar in here.

Go to upper right, search providers. Click on the little down arrow, next to magnifying glass. Click on manage then check, stop programs from suggesting changes to providers. Good Luck. Tell me if this works out.

I had IE 5.5, when I clicked on the search icon, I get the search window to the left. I search and get search results. When I click on one of the results, instead of displaying in the main window, it calls up the website in the search window. Which is a real pain, and then there is no "back" so all the search results are gone. I don't know what made it start to do it, but it is a real pain. I searched the "knowledge base" and found nothing. I upgraded to IE6 thinking that would solve it, but I still have the same problem. I need help. Craig

Any help with this annoying problem would be gratefully appreciated.

I would advise you to use IE only for Windows updates.
Otherwise install the Firefx browser and use that www.getfirefox.com

My default browser is Google Chrome, but sometimes I have to use Explorer for business, however it seems to have been hijacked by something called Global Search. As soon as the browser opens it wants me to save something to my computer, which I didn't do, of course.

Note that this happens with the 32-bit version only. The 64-bit version seems okay.

Hi Forum!

This could be an insideous problem for many pc users.

After installing Daemon Tools for mounting certain cue-images; a specific application seems to have hijacked the generic IE7 web search capability.

Whenever I try to USE IE7 to access certain searches or sites, this daemon search pops up and prints that no search results could be found.

This is a serious problem, as some web access; say a licence for media streaming in my case; REQUIRE IE7 to download certain licences. So I cannot access servers, which require a functioning IE7 mode.

I have tried everything uninstalling Daemon Tools and running spybot s&d. IT did correctly identify this and deleted it; BUT it is still there and rerunning spybot and kaspersky and ad-alert etc; all fail to detect this hideous infiltration. It had to do with whenUsearch and Advantage something which is associated with daemon tools. I deleted all of those with cc-cleaner and the firewall blocks.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled IE7 a number of times. But every time the search window on the right hand top says "Daemon Search".

Firefox search correctly displays Google search in that window and there are no problems using firefox otherwise. But I cannot use firefox to access my licencing site.

So it might be a registry or start up problem. No viruses have ever been found by windows One Care, Kaspersky or Spybot.

I am sure many pc users would appreciate illumination on this potentially seriou... Read more

Greetings. I'm new to this, but here I go. I've been getting a pop-up when I go on the internet. It says, "A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider, LiveSearch(search. live.com). Internet Explorer will open Search Settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers."
This started when I started using Vuze. I thought that the Vuze program was the corrupting program. This didn't bother me too much until I got the XP Antivirus 2010. After running Spybot S&D, Avast! 5 scans and Antimalware I think the infection is resolved.
Now the home page won't download. Vuze search won't work and Windows XP search doesn't work nor can I open System Restore.
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002, Service Pack 3, Dell Dimension 4700, Pentium 4 CPU.
I've uninstalled Vuze after the infection and reinstalled it and still have the search problems. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

A:INTERNET EXPLORER 8 SEARCH PROVIDER CHANGED

Hi Kowski55. Welcome to BC! You've come to the right place. Just be patient because the pro's here are all volunteer and, being one of the best sources on the web for help, they're constantly swamped. But, I promise you it is worth the wait.In the mean time, maybe this will help better define your problem. I'm guessing your error message looks like this:The default search provider mentioned in the error message could also be "Bing". In either case, the search provider mentioned will be from our wonderfully arrogant big brother, Microsoft. Just another attempt at forcing us to use their bloated, sluggish products. Then, when you click on the "OK" button (or the red "X" in an attempt to ignore it), you get this next box:With this screen you have the option of adding more search providers, such as Google, and setting them as your default search provider. If you've tried this, you have already found that the next time you open IE, you get to go back through the same exercise in futility and the default selection you made has been ignored. You'll also notice on this screen that you can delete any search provider in the list EXCEPT the Microsoft search provider (Bing or Live Search). If you do a Google search for this error, such as "corrupted default search provider settings", you will find thousands of places to get instructions on how to correct the issue. But BEWARE!! Most of the suggestions ... Read more

Hi all

I have two pc's at work who are displaying this problem. I can access our intranet homepage and internal links but if I try going to any other website (www.google.com) I get the error message:

"Internet Explorer could not open the search page"

Things I've tried:

Checked DNS settings, all ok.
Ran spybot BUT I could not update it. It said no newer updates but I know there are. Same for adaware.

Ran CWShredder. It said the systems were clean.

Ran qhosts fix tool as I thought it might be a virus.
Ran winsock repair utility and rebooted.

Still same problem!

One user has Windows 2000 and the other Win XP Pro.
