I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I am posting on behalf of my mom. Similar to some complaints of the Yoga Series her IdeaPad 720s screen is beginning to separate from the panel. Because I seldom ever use her laptop I've not really noticed. While trying to figure out an issue shes been having with some work software (electronic health records), I noticed that the bottom of the panel (in between the rubber seal and hinge area) is slightly exposed and is showing some of the innards of the laptop. She doesn't have the greatest eye sight, so she hasn't noticed. Is anyone else having these issues? Is there a fix or am I going to have to RMA the unit? She's only had the unit for about a month and a half.

Hi, I am writing here because i am concerned by an issue that happened to me today. I came home from school where i was working on my laptop, then once i got home i picked my laptop to work again, but i instantly noticed a big crack on my screen going from the top, near the camera, spreading until it reaches the bottom left of the screen. I decided to call the warranty service from lenovo and explained them the situation, but the customer service representative told me that the warranty doesn't cover physical damage and and that i had to send them the computer so a technician decides whether it is my fault or not... I am very concerned by the situation because i am sure that that crack isn't the result of a bad usage of the product from me, i always take care of it and i have it since almost 2 months.  Considering that, i just wanted to know if something similar happened to other people here and what did the technicians decide ? Thanks for your help

Hello All, I bought the Lenovo Ideapad 300 for at least two weeks. I fixed the sound issue. But now I have another issue. It froze on me after the latest Windows update. Right now I am waiting 10 hours for the battery to die. What else can I do to unfreeze it faster? I just wish that I can get easier access to the battery? than to unscrew some nails.

Well first of I would run a disk check since it has been hanging,  Right click on Start, select Command Prompt (Admin) and in the command windows type: chkdsk /f   Press Enter and type Y to schedule the scan for the next boot, and then restart the system. Once that is complete I would check for an updated video driver at support.lenvo.com Does it only occur on a particular game, or just any game?    If just one game, have you checked the game boards for anyone else having that issue?       Also check to make sure your laptops vents are clear of dust, and use a Vacuum to clean them if needed.

I recently bought a 720s which is supposed to be a semi-pro laptop and pretty good for gaming. But I can't even play agar.io without it lagging and hacking. There's no problem to use an IPad or my old MacBook, so there's nothing wrong with the network. Must be something wrong with this computer, right? Should I just return it?

My IdeaPad, suddenly will not turn on. Pressing the Power button, a led on the button is white for about 4 seconds and then turns off. I experience the same if it's running on battery or AC adapter. The led next to the AC adapter is white when the USB C charging cable is attached. I've tried holding down the Power button for +15 seconds with and without the AC adapter attached. Any ideas for further troubleshooting before returning the laptop for repair? Thanks, -Martin

Hi, I'm looking at buying this laptop, but i came across a few questions: 1) Can this laptop support up to 32gb RAM as it is mentioned in some youtube reviews? 2) Can this laptop support video through the USB-C port as well, or just data? I'm looking at connecting 2 portable USB-C monitors, 1 through the Thunderbolt port and the other through the normal USB-C port. 3) Is the Thunderbolt port 2 lanes or 4? 4) Is this 4k screen anti-glare as well? 5) How would this 4k screen work connected to 2 FHD portable monitors, in terms of resolution? 6) Is this 4k screen suffering from backlight bleeding as some reviews suggest? Thanks in advance.

A:Lenovo Ideapad 720s 15IKB Touch 4K - specs

Answers to some of your questions: 1) Yes, it supports up to 32GB RAM, however you would need two 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 SO-DIMM modules, which are rather expensive.2) I can confirm, that one USB-C port supports ThunderBolt 3 and DisplayPort 1.2a connection.4) No, it's a glossy panel.6) Most of IPS screens suffers from backlit bleeding problem. It's mostly depends on unit, which you've receive.

Having trouble here would be super grateful for your help. I connected one external monitor to this alptop but failed in connecting a second monitor to it. My Ideapad 720s is a 4k laptop and so are both my external monitors. When I connected the HDMI cable into the USB port on my laptop the monitor was VERY blurry! So I was forced to use this adapter to plug the HDMI into it and the adpater pligged into the USB-C on my laptop. This is the adapter I used: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/j5creat...?skuId=5930600 So that adapter worked to connect one external monitor but I wasn't able to get a 2nd monitor to work sucessfully. So I received my 720s yesterday. i7-8550U, UHD display, 512 SSD. No good. Backlight bleed on the top and bottom left corners (not horrific, but definitely too much for what is sold as the premium display) and the touchpad is clunky. You press in on either side and it clicks, but then goes in further and makes another click sound and tactile response. Has anyone else had similar problems with this model or a similar 720s? I called Lenovo and explained the problems (and they asked me to email them a picture, which I used lightbleedtest.com to display the issue). They told me that they're gonna send me a new machine, and then once I verify that the issue isn't existent on the new one, I'll send the old one back on a prepaid label. At the very least, I'm happy with the customer service and how they run the return process, but I really expected more with the quality control. Curious to see if there's similar issues that are known -- would rather not have to do a full return.

I got this laptop in Jan this year, and basically it's been great except for some strange CPU behaviour which I need answers for...Mine has the following configuration: i7-8550u / 16gb RAM / 512gb PCIe SSD / MX150 SituationOut of the box, when under heavy load / doing stress tests the CPU refuses to go beyond 2ghz on all 4 cores. But in regular use clock speeds on all 4 cores do spike to almost 4ghz sometimes. Basically it seemed quite glaring to me that the CPU wasn't performing as well as it is capable of. Turbo boost was acting strangely. My investigationsTried using throttlestop to fiddle with settings and it looked like turbo boost wasn't fully enabled by default. Throttlestop enabled me to let turbo boost run indefinitely without the 2ghz cap. However over time I noticed that my CPU easily rose to temps beyond 80C (in short bursts) even in regular use. This was with the default TDP limit configured to be 18.75W. So in order to test the system's cooling performance, I did a CPU & GPU stress test at the same time using XTU & Furmark and CPU temps went into the high 90s and caused my system to crash. Same thing happened even after I lowered the TDP to 15W. All of this happened despite undervolting the CPU.  For context ambient temps here are usually ~30C, and regular use temps are perfectly fine at ~40-50C (excluding the above). So now fearing that longevity might be affected cause of consistent heat spikes I have reset all s... Hi Support, I bought my IdeaPad a month ago. After few days of using i saw a black horizontal line on the screen. I opened a ticket and sent my laptop for a warranty repair. Today i recieved my laptop, and black line issue was fixed. BUT!!!! After the 'repair' two new issues are intoduced!1) This is the craziest to my mind - my screen is assembled with an issue. It is curved in the middle of the screen, and i'm afraid if i push that a place a bit harder my screen will be damaged. Do you have a quality Control service? I cant imagine your engineers have not seen what they done. 2) After repair i can see a backlight bleed on the bottom of the screen. It was not there before, so it's an issue after the repair!  I'm totally mad! How come you could make two critical issues from one? I need your help, even if that sounds funny

My notebook has been experiencing a problem where the screen would go black. Keyboard backlighting still works but everything else doesnt't (sound cuts if it happens wile watching a video or listening to audio). When the screen goes black, nothing I do will bring it back unless I power cycle it by holding down the power button. This only started to happen recently after coming back from a trip where the notebook was used for 8+ hours each day for 5 days (not heavy use; office work and video streaming).  After some troubleshooting, the black screen happens after I hear the fan spin up indicating that the internals are starting to get hot. Once it sounds like the fan has hit maximum rpm, the screen will go out. This sounds like a hardware defect to me, but before I send it in for warranty, I want to see if there's any suggestions on anything else that I can do. I want to avoid warranty for now since I have a big trip coming up in 2 months. Not sure if I'll have the notebook back before then.

My laptop has started to have blue screen errors in the last weeks/months.This is happening more and more frequently (1-2 times per week). This happens while working normally (maybe with music streaming on Chrome with Pandora or Spotify?). In addition to this from time to time (once every 1-2 months) it completely crushes / freezes and I can only turn it off with the power button. It's is worth mentioning that I like to keep the computer on with many programs running, many PDF/word files open, and many chrome tabs open, and to restart it only every few weeks. I have already tried to update all the drivers and windows (Windows 10 Education, version 1709, build 16299.371), also using the Lenovo tool to update the system but it looks like it is not enough. Could it be the old BIOS. I am still running CDCN25WW. Is it worth trying to update to CDCN54WW? I wouldn't like to cause more damage... Thanks!

Good afternoon all.  I'm hoping someone here can help me with this.  I bought this Lenovo ideapad 320-15ABR at Thanksgiving and received it at the beginning of December.  I bought it mainly so that I could use Photoshop, Microsoft Office and to watch TV/movies online.  The only things I've installed on this computer since receiving it was the Photoshop 2018 and Avast Antivirus.  I disabled the Windows Defender antivirus and I couldn't find McCaffee anywhere on my computer.  Anyway, I've used this computer to watch movies a few times now for the last several weekends and at least once during a movie (either through Netflix or Amazon Prime) I will get an error message that reads something along the lines of:  "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart."  Basically the blue screen of death.  It's incredibly frustrating because I've been happy with Lenovo products in the past.  I'm also not a huge fan of Windows 10 and while I don't blame Lenovo for the changes Microsoft keeps making, these new changes coupled with the constant blue screens of death on a brand spanking new computer have made me a very unhappy customer.  Because of the changes with Windows, I'm not familiar at all with how to troubleshoot this problem (or even where to start) to see if there is something wrong with my laptop hardware or if it's a driver error.  If I can I'd like to try to understand how to find out what... Just a heads-up: I bought this Lenovo Yoga 13 Ideapad in 2013, so it's out of warranty. Proceed to read my problem..... I always get a black screen whenever I shut off my laptop and turn it back on again, which is why I lock my laptop instead. But when I DO lock it and get back on it the next morning, I encounter the Black screen of death and instead of my lockscreen immediately appearing like normal after I lock it and have left it overnight & try to get on it, I have to shut down my laptop and turn it back on because my laptop won't immedately take me to the lock screen so I can log into my computer.  Today (March 17, 2017), I had to shut down and turn on my laptop while pressing the rotation button button or the OneKey Recovery button (the button with a circle and a line going through it; I don't know exactly what it's called, but I think it's the recovery button OR the screen rotation button, on the right hand side of the computer: If anyone knows the name of this button, please let me know!)..I tried this 5 times and It wouldn't turn on. Hello,  I recently got myself a LENOVO ideapad 310, like just about close to less than a month ago and have faced several issues.  My cursor will start to become pixelated sometimes and become the normal cursor again, this has happened since the very beginning, but I chose to ignore it as it does not really affect much of my experience using this notebook.  It was up until just now, when I decided to play a game of League of Legends (Its not very graphic intensive), that my keyboard suddenly malfunctioned in the middle of it. Not knowing what is the problem, I couldn't quit the game either as the game menu can only be accessed via the Esc key. The surface suddenly became quite hot and I forcefully turned off my laptop as I always believed that restarting your computer is always a solution.  After the ideapad turned off, I couldn't turn it on for quite awhile, until I decided to hold the power button while it's off. It then turned on but it could not load past the LENOVO logo screen with the small circle at the bottom. After waiting for a good 30 minutes or so, I decided to turn it off once again and use the NOVO button. All while doing that, I had turned on a fan and blew at my laptop at max speed hoping it would cool down.  After using the NOVO button and a few turn ons and offs, the laptop started working normally again, and here I am posting on the forums.  There is no issue now, it's working perfectly fine. Hello! I am new to Lenovo and picked up my 1st laptop yesterday when my HP died. I have always had HP and grew tired of how easy they break & poor battery life, so I wanted to try a different band. I love the computer, the keyboard, track pad & screen are amazing. I bought the ideapad 320-15IAP for about $330 (Including tax) The specs at the store advertised 4.5-5 Hours of battery life, but I have not been able to get a charge better than 2 hours. For someone that uses my laptop at work and on the go, this will not do. Can any one offer up any advice? Does lenovo sell stronger batteries for ideapad that I can replace with this current battery?  My next issue is the Windows 10 update that you are forced to do, I have been trying to install it since 9PM last night, it is now 9PM tonight, a full 24 hours, and it has not fully installed. I have done my fair share of google searches and many people have had these same issues too, but no good solutions outside of deep computer hacking, I don't want to have to do that on a brand new computer. Thanks for any and all help!

Hallo. Two months back we have purchased a Lenovo 110 with Windows 10 and configured it. The initial setup and configuration took a long time (3 to 4 hours) and when it was done, we have been experiencing a lot of issues. Basic programs keep getting frozen and take a long time to start. Programs like MS Excel or MS Edge (for browsing) freeze the whole system and we need to press the power button to restart the laptop. System bootup can be really fast or at times get hung up for hours it the message "Windows being configured..."  We have taken it to Saturn, where we bought the laptop, but their customer care says everything is fine and have sent us the laptop back after just having reverted the system to factory settings.  We are highly dissatisfied and inconvenienced with this product, especially after having given away a lot of money for it, when basic lower end laptops work much smoother. Expecting a solution for this problem. Thank you.

So everything has been working fine on my laptop until about 10:30PM EST tonight. I bought it new in August 2011.
Specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HD: 750 GB
BIOS: 45CN36WW

It's always been a fine machine with NO problems.
However, last night there were Windows 7 updates that were installed and then restarted my computer. I had not gotten a chance to check exactly what they were though. About 10:30 this evening, flash crashed in Mozilla Firefox which is not that uncommon, and from there Firefox closed, and so did my Microsoft Word and Excel apps that were open. From there, my computer began to shut down and restart. Are you able to get into the advanced boot menu by tapping F8? It might not be listed on the startup screen but it should still be there.

If not you can burn a repair disc from any PC with Windows 7. Theres steps from Microsoft Here.
